Press Release 10237 - Tower of Orthanc

One oddity - why are they also releasing the wizards battle as a separate set? Lego is usually more craft than that... -

Sensational! Great price too. Just wow, I'd pay more to get it now - July, grr! Should have had a few more figs but I have plenty of orcs to add -

This is insulting to Americans to portray them as needing everything to be about them, not every Yank spends their morning saluting the flag... This is just the worst sort of pandering - this site is about lego. Why not call it 'worldbricks' and, in a masterstroke of not understanding trends, you change the name while user numbers are increasing?!?! -
Looks like cavegods version, didn't realise instructions were being sold...

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
DrasticPlastic replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Zoe's buddies look incredible! Gonna get me an army of them! Lots of new moulds - the car seat, gun, helmet and cape - ace! -
This theme is the real surprise of 2013 - I was not impressed at first...and then you get your hands on some of these sets and realise just how great they are. The first wave was very strong - but wave two is an instant classic. The bug designs are incredible and as for the galactic Titan - this could be one of the best lego sets, the greebles, play features and sheer size are fantastic - I can't see myself getting less than 2

2 great figures (war machine!) and a pretty nifty boat - ace! These superhero sets have realised people just want the figures and are giving them away at pretty good prices, not bad stuff -

Ewok village but not Cloud City although both would cost a similar amount? At times I'd like lego to just explain 'why' certain sets get released (or don't get released) because I'm not seeing the pattern or logic -
The minifigs are really outstanding; in the last few years minifig standards just keeping getting better. While I have no interest in the film these sets are gorgeous - after the dreadful POTC line this restores my faith that licensed themes have real promise. Can't see myself not getting that fantastic stagecoach and I love all the new moulds - we get more new moulds in a single wave than we used to get per year!

Gungan Sub - great minifigs (Padame!), accuracy, massive step up from the last one and full of play features and storage space

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors

Looking at different pictures of x wings - never realised how many variants there are, no two pictures are the same! Lego's designers clearly picked a design and if there's accuracy issues then that's probably inherent. Some x wings have prominent tab sections and others have considerably more red parts. Weird! -
Oddities with the colours - the rear engines should show the two dark grey rings but don't (and that would just be using the same brick in a different colour). Some of the missing detailing could have been achieved with an extra sticker or too - ah well, it's pretty good but £169 for £1555 bricks? Hmm!! At least the B wing had a good parts per brick ratio...

Whoever designed the at-te was no fan of the colour red - might need to mod some in to improve the accuracy... -

Any pics of the forward interior section of the AT-TE kicking about? That's the one part the video reviews seemed to miss -

Argh, those video reviews have broken me, with the exception of that rubbish Maul speeder the rest I just have to get. I think this new sail barge shouldn't be viewed in isolation from the other Jabba sets. Once you add in the skiff and fill the deck with the other figures you have a set at least as good as the 2006 version (which, lets not forget) fell apart quite easily and wasted a larger interior on a cell without a door?!) Jek's Ewing looks great, a great display model and there must be features we haven't seen yet (the storage area for instance). Those minifigs are glorious and I'll be army building that bounty hunter and the special forces clone! Gunship looks good but the interior is a bit empty, the speeder bike takes up less space which is a plus but a few control panels or gun racks would have worked nicely there Think they nailed the at-te (well okay they should have addressed the gaps in the sides). I would have liked an interior (we don't even get seats this time?!), but overall it's an improvement -

My fears about the AT-TE look to be resolved :) It's much more accurate; I like the new cannon and it has a more compact shape and is this closer to the film version. Would have liked the joint pieces to be printed, but as such pieces already exist its just a simple part substitution. The rest of the sets aren't of interest to me and i'll bricklink the figures (which, despite the sets) are great. Was disappointed with the new mandalorians, not even leg printing, c'mon lego! -
These sets are fantastic - I'm stunned. Licensed themes are sooo lazy (that dreadful POTC theme), but this - great minifigs (as one would expect) but delightful sets showing genuine love shown in the designing and building. Well done TLG - I never thought I'd buy lone ranger sets

£200 of ewoks? That's an awful lot - cant see how an ewok village would warrant a set of that size, after all what were the memorable locations 'recreate c3po talking in a small hut'... We'll get a new leia but £200 for one new fig...hmm -

Why does lego treat lego printing like some sort of game of roulette? 2 out of 3 figures in the AT TE have leg printing...did the budget just run out? Are they trying to send some sort of coded message based around ratios of printed to unprinted?! It makes my collection look bizarre - as if different sets come from different themes. Printed legs add so much so stop messing us about, either do it or don't, just be consistent -

AT TE looks good, looks like changes to the cannon and the overall proportions for a more accurate representation Looks like 4 new figures with a battle droid commander in there and Mace has printed legs. The star fighter looks a bit rough with that cockpit piece but the minifigs alone make this a must have -

The big UCS/exclusive is usually the years Lego highlight - but a UCS x wing and/or ewok village leaves me cold What could an ewok village possible look like to be of any real interest - rope bridges and brown huts... I'd rather have a Death Star style Cloud City... -
Think I need to build me one It's nice when someone posts instructions and a parts list, AFOLs always seem overly protective of digital designs, what's the harm in letting others build your set, it's the ultimate compliment after all

Hmm, disappointed. I love rebooted sets...but at the sane time I want a balance with new sets. A superficial change to the gunship isn't so bad as the 2008 version was fine...but the 2008 AT-TE featured large gaps in the sides and never quite got the shape right. It's a shame that at attempt no.3 it's still not right
