LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
DrasticPlastic replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The new sail barge is a huge improvement - doesn't fall to bits as the last one did and the jail cell now has 4 walls (the 2006 version was a bit odd there!). You can access the whole interior too. The cannon is a bit off but there's among the only areas not improved on -
Double Feature Review Part I: 75024 HH-87 Starhooper
DrasticPlastic replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow...pretty basic set...not much to really have an opinion on at all! Why did lego even bother? -
All the sets released - except the Titan?! That was the one I wanted - thought the shelf in the lego store was mocking me! Damnit lego - where is it?!

Breathtaking! Simply breathtaking! I have no room for it...but it's mine the day of release! I'm in love! Only criticism - why can't we get stormtroopers with printed legs - every other trooper has printed legs, even the scouts these days!! -

Very pleased with the new AT-TE, having also owned the last 2 versions I can safely say this is the most accurate version. Lego finally got the compact shape right - the 2008 version looks even more stretched than it ever did before... -

Damnit, lego, release the sets across the world - gotta get me Jek's star fighter, probably the most interesting minifig selection in a set for years. Hope lego designs it's own sets and figures a bit more. -

I think this wave indicates lego knows its audience - there's something for everyone and some love the same sets others despise. I reckon the corporate alliance tank is just lazy with one minifig to ensnare buyers - others love it, well done lego market research. -

Is it me...or is the new gunship abit...plain? The 2008 version had the different nose stickers, the bacta tank, a more detailed troop bay (albeit one that fit fewer troops), the droid storage and the command centre bit - for quite a bit more cash we seem to be getting less. That said, it's clearly a very accurate set, maybe Lucas is the problem! -
What are the odds of a 10179 rerelease or a new Falcon UCS?
DrasticPlastic replied to merman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I thought lego said they were going to re-release it as they had been monitoring the prices in the secondary market - I'm sure we had an announcement from TLG? -

Summer wave in may? Ace! Although big wait till the winter 2014 wave... Anyway, any mileage in ordering from the German s@h site if you don't happen to live in Germany - would such an order just get cancelled ? -

I'll buy it - but that says more about me than the quality of the set... What does it...do? Two panels open but the 'cockpit' (?) is too small to fit anyone? Odd choice for a £90 set -

Yeah, didn't we get a leak that this Friday saw the German release...damnit, not much good to the rest of us! -
UCS 10227 B-Wing is going to be discontinued - now!
DrasticPlastic replied to Darth Dino's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Didn't last very long - not even the standard 2 years. One concludes it has sold very badly. I bought one and it's a charming set - but £170 for what is ultimately a fringe vehicle does perhaps indicate there were better UCS candidates and the price per brick ratio was a bit jarring. Oh well. -
There really is little point 'reviewing' a set and not including the stickers - you wouldn't complete a review with bricks missing would you? Feels like a slap in the face to TLG - they handed over these sets in good faith to promote products they worked hard on, the very least you could do was show the set as they intended.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
DrasticPlastic replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Iron Patriot as a preorder? Sigh But at least we are getting this figure - that's better than it not being released at all... If its out in the uk - then it's mine. If not, I'll pay what's required from bricklink. Lego can't stop me... -
Very weak theme - when you consider the build quality and the minifig design work in The Lord of the Rings line...and then compare it to this...damn Whole theme looks like its 15 years old - Lego ditched that approach and has thrived since. Very disappointed in the reused helmet molds, feels like leftovers from a previous year

The May 4th figure - is it available in lego shops and shop@home or just shop@home? -
It's such a horrible design! So ugly - looks like its been hammered into shape rather than built The new X Wing is a decade ahead in terms if design (in more ways than one) This old x wing really shows how lego has changed and how the Internet has changed lego - thousands and thousands of MOCs have shown what can be done and Lego has upped it's game.
