I'm not so sure if I like number three. Perhaps we could all make suggestions as to who the vigilante should kill, but I don't think it's the wisest idea to broadcast who the vigilante should target that night. I suppose it depends on the vigilante as to whether or not they listen to who the town votes for, but I'd still advise against it. As for the vigilante tomorrow, I'd say that if the investigator finds a townie, they should get the costume. If the investigator finds a scum tonight, then we'll of course have to alter that plan, but to me this seems like the logical course of action. This would give away which costume is the investigator one, though. To get around that, I'd suggest that the investigator contact the person they investigated, and let them know so this person can announce it to the rest of us without jeopardizing the costume. It also goes without saying that anybody who rushes for the costume tomorrow is almost certainly scum and should be voted off the next day.
-
I'm on the fence about this. How will we know that the person who takes it the next day isn't scum? And if we're losing costumes on a regular basis, we run the risk of losing the protector and then losing the kill costume. It's a totally plausible play that the scum would sacrifice one of their own to get rid of the vigilante. By the time we get to Day Three we should pay close attention to people who select the same costume that they picked today, since you can't pick the same costume two days in a row.
-
Presumably the person we're about to lynch would tell us all what the costume does? I don't know why you're so confused about this. It's really quite odd, and not in a good way.
-
Advocating for a no-lynch when the rules specifically don't allow for such an action is either, as has been said, scum or dumb. But which one is it? I'm watching you, Mary Jane. I agree with this. I don't see any reason to take what the costume does to your grave, since it can't be used anyway in later days. This is advantageous for the town, though. If we know that there's a killing costume, and someone immediately lunges for the killing costume, that says a lot about their motives.

General Discussion and Announcements
Bob replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
(yes, another stereotypically bad Bob Mafia banner) Coming Bob sucks, in May. -
You were the only person sounding the call repeatedly this entire game that I was scum and everyone ignored you. I felt so bad using the lame defence that we always suspect each other and we're always wrong. By the end of the day though I just stopped replying since everyone thought I was the serial killer. I was so convinced that TPRU was the serial killer that I nearly suggested that we reach out to him to get a majority lynch against someone like Hinckley or Fugazi, but I don't think I proposed it because I wasn't certain.
-
I had to put on a hat so I could take it off to you, Hinckley. Well played, sir. I thought the entire scum team was sending in their actions in one giant PM, but I realized that was not the case when Walter PM'd me on Day Three. What a game. I misread Hinckley up until I died. I only realized he had to be the serial killer into Day Eight, since I was dead and he was bulletproof. Plus Walter had to pretty much flat out tell me because I'd got it so wrong. I thought I had every possible calculation worked out. Honestly, I thought TPRU was the serial killer. Fhomess and I discussed that since everyone believed I was the SK that if TPRU claimed it (which he tried to do) I would have counterclaimed and confirmed that I was, but it turned out that I didn't need to do so. TPRU was right, I hammered Mostlytechnic on Day Six because I thought that TPRU was going to do it, and I wanted to appear extremely town the next day. The gamble worked, even though MT was confused about it in private. I started off the game playing the "typical Bob" that Hinckley is so used to (and sort of hates), and I did that on purpose because I knew he would think I was just being the same. I actually felt bad talking to Hinckley the entire Night Seven cycle, because I was so convinced he was town at that point, and I obviously had to keep playing up that I was town because I thought he was the Vig. I was worried that I was really fooling him, but in the end he turned out to be the one fooling me. I even expressed this to Walter when I was submitting my night action to kill Hinckley. I was secretly wondering what angrily-upset title he was going to give me since I thought I'd fooled him so hard as scum. I should have known you weren't town, there weren't any stupid plays this game.

Unrest in the Forest - Day 7: Permanent Waves
Bob replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If I remember correctly, Jack and Barry were also rooting heavily for the code system. Let's take a look back: Adelaide brings up the idea pretty early up in the day. It doesn't get much mention and it eventually dissipates from the main conversation after awhile. Discontent with that, Adelaide brings it up a few more times. Finally, after mentioning it quite a number of times throughout the day trying to revive it, she attracts the attention of someone: It's almost like the paid actor in the commercials who approaches the salesman in order to get information about the product out. "I'm very interested, good sir! Please tell me more!" "Well, you sure have convinced me! I'll definitely buy into your product!" Now Jack is all for the codes! But wait, look who else is all for the codes! Oh, it's Barry! Each time the discussion turned away from Adelaide's codes she kept bringing them up, until finally she had her fellow teammate work with her to try and sell the codes. Then to lock it up, she had another fellow scum come in and promote the codes until we all started to do it. Now when she's confronted about it, she's screaming "I came up with the codes! I have to be town!" Jack is confirmed scum and Barry is almost definitely scum. How much do you want to bet that Adelaide is too? -

I hadn't mentioned Jack at all because I was more convinced about you being scum, at least in the beginning of the day. Then when the evidence started to compile against Jack and people became more suspicious of him, I decided to hammer him out. Even more convincing for me was one of his final posts, in which he stated that it was vital for him to stay alive and anyone but him should have been lynched. I'm assuming that since Simon voted for him it pretty much confirmed him as vanilla, since everyone claimed to Simon. No vanilla player should ever say that it is vital for him to live and survive. You're grasping at straws and drawing lines and connections to places that don't exist. You're striving to make yourself look town by twisting my words and accusing me of not properly answering your questions. Go back and look, you didn't ask me a question. You made a statement. Vote: Adelaide Apple (TPRU) Your last sentence about this being an interesting day for voting is pretty ominous. Expecting any surprises? -

It might have seemed dismissive, but it wasn't meant to be. Aw, thanks. And you're right, I really do want to win this, but for the town, not for the scum like you're hinting. That's true, I didn't know what you were going to do with your vote. But I still decided to hammer him anyway because of the case against him and the fact that we needed a lynch. I hardly hopped onto any bandwagon, I sealed the lynch against him. Hopping onto the bandwagon would have made me the third or fourth vote for example, or the sixth vote. (Which there wasn't, since you didn't vote) Had I not hammered him, would you have? Let's find out... Evidently you may have hammered him, but that's all fine and dandy to say today. The wording of your post yesterday seemed to hint that you had no intention on voting for him at all. You saw him as "proactive" and "anti-Maple", to quote a few of your phrases. It almost seemed like you were trying to defend him. Today you're criticizing me for ignoring all of the points against Jack early on, acting like you were one of the first people to accuse and vote for Jack. From what I've reread, it looks like you didn't even suspect Jack. Even when Jack was going after you, you didn't fight back and bring forth what was scummy about him. Didn't want to bring any new evidence or theories forward that would hurt your scum buddy and your chance for a no-lynch? Nice try twisting my words. What I said was that there are probably two scum left today, and had Jack not been lynched, there would have been three. Since there would have been no lynch that would have meant that the game would have ended last night and not continued today, if we're to believe the night actions would remain the same. So if I was scum, why would I throw the game away like that? -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 7: Permanent Waves
Bob replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm not trying to mislead anyone or skew the mechanics of the game. I might be totally wrong on all of this, but I don't think I have seen this before. Our win condition is to kill all of the Maples, yes, but the serial killer's win condition is typically "survive until the end" unless it's different for this game. That's a possibility as well, since there's been a lot of things that are different in this game. The way I've always seen it is that the scum have to outnumber the town, not the town and the serial killer. If there's two maples and a serial killer, don't the scum tie the town? The game usually ends when there's a tie like that, right? Therefore, since we're all still here, I don't think that the two scum and an SK is possible. I might be totally wrong though, like I said. I'm not trying to deny that it's a possibility. I even prefaced the statement with "I don't think" instead of "there's definitely not." -

Bob replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I don't think that there's two Maples and a neutral left, because if that were the case then the game would likely be over. The town would be outnumbered by the non-towns and would have no way to win unless the neutral went with the town. Therefore, I think it's likely that there's either a neutral and a maple left or two maples and no neutral. -

Of course you're inclined to believe I'm scum, you're trying to save your own skin today. Voting for Jack was a mixture of both. I believe strongly that you're scum, but given the case yesterday against Jack I felt more confident voting for him. Would you have preferred a no-lynch yesterday? I know that it probably screwed up your plans. Had I not hammered Jack, would you have voted for him? Would you have been content with no conviction at such a late stage in the game? Tell me, if I'm scum, why didn't I unvote Jack at the last second? I was online for the rest of the day, so it's not because I stopped paying attention. -

I think this has happened in every game we've played together. Either you suspect me or I suspect you and then we both get each other lynched and we're both town. -

I had voted for Adelaide yesterday for a variety of reasons that she never sufficiently answered to me, and I do believe that I will be voting for her today as well. I'll agree with you that it's pretty much confirmed now that there's a janitor, but why are you so convinced that Hazel was an Oak? An already lynched Maple wouldn't mind breaking the rules because they'd have nothing to lose. All the same, this was a violation of the rules so you shouldn't be bringing it up. Perhaps Hazel knew she was going to be janitored ahead of time by her scum team. I don't know why you're so stuck to the idea that Hazel is an Oak. It's what got you lynched on Day Five. Were all of the trees that were janitored Maples? I don't think so, because that would be five scum already dead and one or two more scum still out there (six or seven scum is a huge number) -

The Alder is too busy making penis jokes in the C&D thread. The late points about William are interesting, but I've thought more about Adelaide, especially her responses: Yes, but you still didn't even mention Peter as a possible suspect the next day. Hazel being scum shouldn't have meant that Peter was cleared in your mind, unless you purposefully didn't want to mention it again. Just because it's a new day doesn't mean you can drop all your suspects from the previous day and focus strongly on someone else (who turned out to be town, by the way) I don't know if it's just me, but this sounds a bit like fishing in private to me. If you were hoping that the town block would kill Peter that night, and you so strongly suspected him, then why not consider him as a potential suspect the next day? I don't think you've really answered me all that well, nor anyone else, despite your claims that you have. I will: Vote: Adelaide Apple (TinyPiesRUs) There's about six hours left in the day if my watch is right. Convince me otherwise. -

Bob replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It's because I didn't seal the lynch on Hazel. Nash Ash did. As a matter of fact, yes I do, even though half of the posts in this day thread have been in various forms of code. Your points against Lassie have been well thought out and explained and I've been rereading them, but I'm also looking at Adelaide. She's been playing as she usually does, not posting quite a lot. I will admit that her posts have been mostly full of substance, she's also been placing quite a few scummy votes that seem to be intent on covering herself. The whole idea of voting for someone that you think is scummier than joining a bandwagon can sometimes be right if the person isn't overtly scummy, but purposefully staying on when we're lynching someone that is very scummy (Hazel) and then the next day coming back with this: What appears to be a complete and full support of Hazel now being scum and not mentioning Peter again as somebody that she thinks we should watch out for. In fact, she doesn't appear suspicious of Peter for the rest of the day and never mentions him as a possible suspect again. Why? She appeared to be so certain that Peter was scum that she kept her vote on him even when Hazel the writing on the wall appeared with the Hazel vote. Even in the first part of her post she's seemingly accusing Jack Pine for questioning the possibility of Hazel being scum. Then Simon says this: Why would Adelaide have to justify her vote for Peter in private before the day even started, as though she already knew that Hazel was going to flip scum and that she needed to defend her vote to Simon, who has been practically appointed as the leader of the town at this point. For me right now it's between Lassie and Adelaide. I'd like to think about this for just a little bit longer and hear replies from both before I rush into it. -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 6: Hemispheres
Bob replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yes, that is indeed how it happened. I made the post only a few hours afterwards and didn't return until the end of the day. At the time, I still viewed Peter as being scummier. If you look back, there were five votes for Hazel in the span of about an hour, excluding my own. I was only just able to vote in time. As I said before, there were five votes in the span of an hour. That was an extremely fast bandwagon. -

Bob replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If you'd look, I answered your claim that I hadn't given any codes by proving that I did, and then I didn't return to the thread until the end of the day when a Hazel lynch was definitely going to happen. To be honest, even though I view it as one of the scummiest acts and an extreme scum flail, I thought that she was just giving up at first. It was only after reading the rest of her posts that it all came together and I saw it as scummy and not just giving up because she just wanted to be voted out.
