Blacktron Mafia: Confirmation and Discussion
Bob replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
You missed a few Bob's, I'm afraid! You included Governor Bob apparently, but you've forgotten Congressman Bob, Mayor Bob, Admiral Bob, Captain Bob, Fleet Admiral Bob, and most recently, Host Bob. Thanks for reminding me how much of a narcissist I am though for including a variation of myself in every game I've hosted. Oh, and nobody click the first link. It takes you to Prohibition Mafia.- 312 replies

Your fixation on me is extremely worrying. I'm surprised that you didn't vote for me instead of Dodd, since you seem so lazer focused on the idea that I'm scum. Even when I'm revealed as town, whether it be by my death or in the conclusion, I have a feeling that you're still going to insist I'm scum. Going to have to agree here, and not because I'm biased in anyway (I was forced to write out my vote longhand and mail it into the host while dancing the jitterbug with Old Man Hinck) Just because you're new players doesn't mean that a scumtell is any different. I've played with almost all of you before, on both teams, even hosted games where some of you played. Just because you're a quote unquote "new generation of player" doesn't mean that the people who've been playing here for ages can't pick up when someone is being scummy. Yes, it's possible that Paul is being incredibly stupid, but it's not his first game. I know in the past he's sometimes played Mafia drunk, but he's not stupid enough as town to act this way. It goes back to the phrase "scum or dumb." Why would he lie openly and publicly about fake results and conversations just so people view Seamus as the serial killer? What is that even supposed to accomplish today? We've already been given a scum to lynch today, does he expect us to all unvote Dodd to vote for Seamus since "he's the serial killer?" I'm not trying to defend Seamus here. For all I know, he could be the serial killer or scum. I just find it incredibly scummy and suspicious that Paul is acting this way. If he looks like scum, acts like scum, and sounds like scum, chances are he's probably scum.- 194 replies

Four people came and messed with me last night. Jokes on you, I'm a heavy sleeper. I find it ridiculous that we've yet to catch a single scum. Everything about his lynch seemed right at the time. Looking back, the lack of defence and the face that he removed his avatar rather quickly could be quite telling. I suppose I'm going to be the primary lynch target today, which is actually quite brilliant for the scum since I'm town and they probably don't need to kill many more of us. The scum probably mixed between the bandwagons since it'd look very suspicious if they all went on one. The fact that there were no kills last night is also telling. I know the vigilante was told to stay home, but what about the scum and serial killer? A block and a protect? Maybe the serial killer is a nice person and decided not to kill anyone last night after all. Or maybe the scum and serial killer targeted the same person who was being protected. As for my suspicions, I don't know. If I was wrong about Rip maybe I'm wrong about everyone else? That means I need to reevaluate the situation. In the morning...what? It is morning? Whatever.- 194 replies

Well, I can't really defend myself against a gut intuition can I? I can only recommend some aspirin to soothe it. I'm glad you're voting with your gut. It's worked out for other people so well before. On an unrelated note, both Nathan and Rip have looked at the thread and left without posting or unvoting 4 of 2. Just an observation.- 331 replies

Oh, somebody did end up making a case against me. I've not "echoed what others have said", the entire day I've been speaking. Have I considered Minga actually is town? Sure, of course. Does that excuse me from still being suspicious of her? Anyone can come and claim they were investigated as innocent if they want to. I stated exactly why I found her suspicious, which is more than you're doing. You're claiming that I'm saying "super duper scummy things" but at the same time, you're unable to find any examples. Right. Nobody else did either. Do you think there's seven scum out there, or is it just me? You shouldn't stop being suspicious of someone even though they say they're investigated as loyal. You're supposed to be suspicious of everyone, it's how the game works. And you're wrong, it is more developed than a Minga analysis, since she didn't give one.- 331 replies

What is up with your posts? So, you're voting for me for no reason other than "Minga said so!" and Minga also voted for me for no reason. Ergo, you're voting for me for no reason. Make sure you keep in mind all of the people trying to pile onto this bandwagon for no discernible reason when Rip Sewer is a much better candidate to be lynched.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers
Bob replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
In a game of eighteen players, I don't think there would be five scum and a serial killer. That's one third of non-town aligned players. I'm also not convinced in the slightest that the town block is in good hands whatsoever, especially with scummy Paul. So, yes, that's why I'm not too pleased about this new "town block". I'm torn between Stig, 4 of 2, and Paul. Stig's whole code system is completely nonsensical and I think I can only grasp part of the code system. The fact that he went out and revealed to other players just who had the code seems to defeat the purpose of the code system a bit. Question: When did you send these reminder messages to these players? Was it during the night action cycle? Since Vasquez turned up dead, is it possible that Diamond Dodd and/or Nathan are scum? To my knowledge, there has never been a role called the "scum watcher" in the history of mafia on this site.1 There's been a scum tracker. Why would you even go onto Mafiascum wiki to look and see if there was a possible role called scum watcher? Is it because you knew beforehand that Paul was given the role of scum watcher and you wanted to go and check and make sure it's a legitimate role so you could mention the wiki in your defense? (Source: I've been in a lot of them) I don't care what Clem and Minga say about Paul, I'm still suspicious of him. The fact that Minga is defending him so vehemently is equally suspicious, considering it's entirely possible that he's a scummy liar and it seems like she's just trusting him implicitly. I don't like it. So, Paul says this: Because Seamus wasn't targeted, it means he's scum? Considering that every single player in this game doesn't have a power role, a lot of people weren't targeted on Night One. Are they all scum too? Then for no reason you come out and claim your role. Nobody forced your hand, you didn't have to reveal this information. I really want to vote for Paul, but despite the fact that he's scummy as all hell, there is a slim chance he may actually be town. So, I will: Vote: 4 of 2 (mostlytechnic) Something smells rotten on this space station, and I think it's you. Hey, quick question. How do you know that Paul is "definitely" a watcher and that he's not lying? Do you know for certain that someone targeted Clem and that's why you know for sure? Perhaps one of your scum friends?- 331 replies

No, it's not fishing. Putting out a general trawl for night actions that may or may not even be in the game allows the scum to claim a role like that. Try again what? He said he contacted both you and Clem to "clear the air". Then you said twice that it would be a bad idea to lynch him. Sorry, that leads me to assume that the three of you are speaking or colluding behind the scenes- 331 replies

Bob replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why not just reveal him/her now? Are you planning on revealing this player when they're in trouble because they're scum? I can't believe so few other people think this is weird. I'll say it again, another time. The scum know who the townies are because they're the people that aren't on their team. I'm not sure why you don't understand this. How is withholding the name of this person detrimental to the town? It doesn't matter if nobody is looking at this person as a suspect. It will nevertheless reduce the amount of people that aren't cleared. So far you, and presumably your investigator, are the only two people that know this, besides your mystery confirmed townie. To whoever this person is, reveal yourself. Don't listen to Minga, she's being dumb.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers
Bob replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
How convenient, They really wouldn't. As I said the scum know who the town are. Having your mysterious cleared person claiming in thread isn't going to make them any less of a target. I'm not saying the investigator shouldn't have contacted you, I'm saying the investigator shouldn't have told you to get everyone to claim to you. Great, I'll just take your word on that one. I'm not fishing. I'm pointing out how scummy it sounds that she can walk around saying that every town PR is still alive. Great. I'm glad I'm in the minority in a situation where you're trying to protect a confirmed townie "to keep the scum guessing." I've said it before, and I'll say it again:the scum don't need to guess who the town are because they KNOW who the town are. That's the point of the game. The scum killing your confirmed person is no different to the scum killing me. We'd both come up as town the next day. Does nobody else find this scummy? Are people seriously okay with this? Withholding the name of somebody that has been confirmed is harming the town since there's a chance we could lynch them today. But like I said, fantastic explanations. You, Clem, and your third confirmed person go ahead and start off your "town block". No, not everyone can be the godfather. But the person who is claiming in thread to have been investigated on night one certainly can be.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers
Bob replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why would a "confirmed townie" be a target for the scum? The scum already know who all the town are, they're the people not on their team. Killing this so-called confirmed townie would be no different to killing any other member of the town... Also, I still think it's scummy that you basically told all of the power roles to message you so you could form a town block. Then you're just saying that this investigator told you to go out into the thread and ask for claims? Does this investigator not know what a godfather is? Or a tailor? I'm going to go for a theory that might seem outlandish, since that's what I specialize in, and might be totally wrong, because that's something else I specialize in. It's possible that the investigator is dead. Clem and Minga are both scum and since they know who the scum are, they were able to PM a townie today to say the investigator confirmed him. It's possible they tracked the investigator night one, killed him last night and Minga is now pretending there's an investigator out there to lure other PRs to her. Clem's claim of universal backup was viewed with suspicion yesterday, and if I'm honest, it's still suspicious to me. I viewed Clem's claim with suspicion yesterday, but still treated it as a legitimate claim when it happened. Here's some things that bother me a bit, all the way back to Clem's first hints of being the backup: What do you mean "we didn't kill the vig?" It's a safe bet that Dr. Wen wasn't the vig, since he hopefully would've known to claim after what happened in the last game. There were two kills on Night One, as we said, someone could have been blocked, protected, or the vig could have stayed home. Or the vig could have targeted the same person as one of the other killers. It's happened before. So, you say "we didn't kill the vig." By "we", it looks as though you're presumably indicating the town, but why would the vig (the town killer) want to kill himself? The only other people that could have killed the vig are the scum and the third killer from last night, who we can all assume is a serial killer. Analyzing the rest of it, she says "last night." As I pointed out, the vig wouldn't kill himself, and the only two other killers are the scum killer and the serial killer, so only hostile parties could have killed the vig Night One. Maybe I'm just overtly scrutinizing, but this is bothering me and I'll admit I missed it the first time I read through her early posts. Uh, no? Why would the vig assume you're not scum? For all they know, you could just be lying about the role. The only thing they'd know is that they're still alive. It's really the perfect claim, quite frankly, because it wouldn't make sense for the vigilante to come out and announce "yes, I'm alive! She's totally not scum!" This sounds an awful lot like you're claiming to be the vig backup, which is what people initially thought, until you clarified that you're the "universal backup". But if that were the case, wouldn't all the town PR's "know that you're not scum?" That goes back to what I previously said. Why would they know this? Because they're still alive? Additionally, it wouldn't even matter if one of them died and you claimed that none of the PR's died because they wouldn't be able to counterclaim. Because they'd be dead. How do you know this? You said earlier that it's first come first serve and you can't pick which PR you inherit. It's a bit outlandish to think that seven vanilla townies have died and not a single town PR has, isn't it? You're not going to say if you became a power role last night. Okay, I get it. That's all well and fine, but I don't know how that would make you any more or less of a target. You're still a threat to the scum as a "backup" because even if they kill a PR, you'll get that role. It wouldn't make you any more or less of a target. If the investigator found a scum, why wouldn't the investigator immediately tell Minga so we can get a lynch today? Then if Minga refuses to reveal this in public, then it's obvious that Minga is scum as well. As I said, it's entirely possible that the investigator is dead and Clem and Minga are both scum. Clem can say in thread that the investigator is still alive, which is something that I think is hard to verify unless all seven dead are vanilla, and then Minga can use this to announce that she's been confirmed town by the "investigator", who is dead and therefore can't counterclaim this. Additionally, Clem isn't going to tell us what role she received or even if she inherited a role. She's not going to, and she knows that nobody will ask because they'd look extremely scummy. With Minga and Clem both in this new town block that they're presumably forming and Minga asking people to claim to her, they'll know who has which roles. If the investigator is dead and has been dead, what's stopping Clem from adopting that role? It'd be really easy for her to do so, considering she knows the allegiances of every player, except for the serial killer. Minga insists that revealing this other confirmed townie will make them a target and that she wants to "keep the scum guessing" (which is total BS as I said since the scum know who the freaking town are and therefore don't need to guess who is a confirmed townie), I think this second confirmed member of the town should reveal themselves. However, the second part of Minga's post has equally bothered me. I'll post it again: Does nobody else find this suspect? Yes, that's a complete and total possibility and it's one that they're likely trying to avoid to prevent three scum being outed if the whole thing blows up in their face as compared to only two. Obviously I meant this:- 331 replies

The problem with Minga claiming that she's verified town by the investigator is that it's impossible to confirm it right now. I'm assuming the investigator investigated someone last night, why aren't they posting in here to confirm it as well? I don't know, maybe I'm just being paranoid thinking this . It's doubly suspicious that you've said you want everyone else to claim to you when your claim is so unverified. It doesn't matter if you're "trying to set up a town block" if you're scum and telling all of the power roles to PM you immediately sounded extremely suspect. Maybe Minga really is the investigators envoy though. It's just too suspicious for me. Like I said, I might be being overtly paranoid here. I'm known to do that in these games, and that's why it usually goes bad for me I'm still suspicious of Rip Sewer as I stated earlier. He went after Wen way too hard, especially since Wen ended up being town. Like Seamus said, he might be taking a lesson out of the Scumbacarrot book. For now it's a bit of a tie between him and Paul for me. I did use the tailor role in Unrest in the Forest I believe, nobody investigated the person though. At least I think I did. My memory is shit. I can't even remember what I did last week.- 331 replies

Seamus could be playing a very good game here, it's true. I hate metagaming, but Seamus is the type of person who typically "leads the town" so some people usually take his arguments and follow his lead. I can't say he "lead" a lynch on Day One against Dr. Wen, because a lot of us believed his actions to be scummy, which is why we voted for him. Rip Sewer was particularly harsh against him, which always bothered me a bit. Perhaps Rip is a townie that genuinely wanted him gone and didn't have sympathy for him, or he's scum and he figured he'd be able to make himself look pro-town by going down hard against Wen. The second day was interesting. Seamus had been going on Claw for most of the day, before eventually quoting and using Maurice's reasons. Now today he's leading a charge against Paul, who was acting quite scummy yesterday I will admit. So, it's kind of a mixed bag. Claw voted for Paul yesterday, and was the first to vote for him. But Claw voted for him because of inactivity and because he thought his post the first day was scummy, which it was looking back. Looking at Paul as a whole, he came in yesterday complaining about his megablocks being kicked, which is an inferior toy brand, and then voted for Seamus because of the "way he defended Clem", and then posted a confusing wishy-washy statement about not knowing alignments or knowing alignments. But the way he defended his vote was just so weird that it appeared almost as a very very confused and noobish townie, which Paul is most certainly not. Now I'm just confused. I'm going to bed. Or...back to bed if I'm staying in full RP.- 331 replies
