You're meant to doubt everyone since, unless you're mafia, you will never know who is what until the conclusion. You do have different patterns to analyze - the policy patterns. Not quite. The player will know the alignments of each cards. Example. Let's say today I draw two mafia and a town card. I will tell the Mayor that I have drawn those three cards and then he will tell me which of the three he wants discarded. Then I will tell the TCC the two remaining cards and he will choose which one to enact. Only the Mayor and TCC will know the cards and they are not allowed to post in the thread until the policy is enacted.

SECRET ENEMIES Day One: I'm Not Cleaning That Up The scene outside City Hall was grisly. The Mayor had fallen to his death from his balcony above. The police stood around, securing the scene or something. "Should we call somebody?" one of them asked. "No, I think we're alright. After all, we were the ones called here." Meanwhile, a small crowd of figures assembled. Behind them, others went about their general business, since tragedy like this befell their city often. "Was he murdered?" Betsy asked. "What are we going to do?" Edward added. Lindsey wasn't paying attention, she was turned the wrong way. Robert echoed his fellow neighbors "Who could have done something like this?" Then the doors swung open and Bob, not even bothering to wear an outfit this time, stepped out. "It's Bob!" they all yelled in panic. "Not another mafia game!" someone cried. The poor citizens of Bob's City Collection had been forced through quite a lot over the years. They had been thrown into a strange black and white period game, forced to wear cheesy space outfits on sets that were haphazardly built with clocks that never turned (three times), and had not too long ago dealt with an actual mafia in their city. Each time they played a sadistic game of Mafia, a lighthearted party game, in order to find the bad apples among them. "Calm down." he said to those assembled. "We're not playing another game of mafia!" The crowd cheered. "You mean you're going to allow the police to conduct a fair investigation and then prosecute those responsible?" one asked. "Sorta. We are going to let the law work this time! However, we don't seem to have a mayor anymore. Every day I will randomly select a new Mayor among you. He will then select a Town Council Chair that will approve a law that is designed to weed out the mafia among us. However, there will be bad laws mixed in as well that the scum will try and get passed." "So, it's another game." one of the officers asked. "What? Well, kinda but - " Everyone groaned and sighed. "None of you should die this time! Don't worry! Unless five mafia policies are passed that is. "What was that?" someone asked. "Nothing, nothing. Carry on!" ~~~ Characters (12) Lindsey Green - Khscarymovie4 Ralph Brooks - Actor Builder Betsy Bowers - Forresto Joshua Sutton - Peanuts Scott Howell - Jackjonespaw Erik Kelly - Umbra-Manis Patricia Davis - Tariq J Anne Martin - Mediumsnowman Michael Wright - Jluck Edward Cook - Chromeknight Christina Phillips - Fhomess Robert Butler - Dragonfire The rules are a bit complex as of now and by the end of it I'll have worked them into a numbered list, but please see the detailed explanation in the C&D Thread Good luck! DAY ONE Today's Mayor is Edward Cook / Chromeknight! He must pick a Town Council Chair and nominate that person publicly here. Then you will have 24 hours to approve his government by voting either Yes or No. The 24 hours begins when Edward selects his Town Council Chair. He should do so ASAP without delay. At the end of 24 hours, I will draw three cards and tell Edward what they are. Edward will then pick one of those three to discard and I will then send the other two to the Town Council Chair who will pick one of the two. Remember, if three governments fail in a row (that would be 72 hours theoretically - three 24 hour periods), then the top card is flipped and that policy is enacted. This game is designed to be very accusatory. Trust no one. Good luck again!

Secret Enemies - Confirmation and Discussion
Bob replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Alright we're ready to start! Day One will likely be up soon (maybe tomorrow but maybe today!) barring no unforeseen circumstances. I've just made both the policy and player cards. They're kind of cute. The way the Mayor will work is I'll put all the player cards into a fashionable hat and then draw one. The policy cards will be shuffled and used like an actual deck of cards. -
Secret Enemies - Confirmation and Discussion
Bob replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
General Note, since some people had questions about it. PMs are not allowed. The scum are allowed to PM if they really want to, but they're of course not allowed to contact the Godfather. There's no real need to PM considering there's no night actions, but if the scum really wants to talk to each other then sure. -
Secret Enemies - Confirmation and Discussion
Bob replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Also, you might think "Wow, Bob is really half-assing this game! The avatars suck and there's not even a banner! What a guy!" That's not the case. A lot of behind the scenes work has gone into this. Just the LEGO aspect of it will be lacking. I'll still give a coherent and solid story just the way I can. -
Hi, welcome to Secret Enemies! Anyone can post here. Please confirm your characters. Characters (12) Lindsey Green - Khscarymovie4 Ralph Brooks - Actor Builder Betsy Bowers - Forresto Joshua Sutton - Peanuts Scott Howell - Jackjonespaw Erik Kelly - Umbra-Manis Patricia Davis - Tariq J Anne Martin - Mediumsnowman Michael Wright - Jluck Edward Cook - Chromeknight Christina Phillips - Fhomess Robert Butler - Dragonfire Game Explanation (in case you missed it): 1) There are two teams, the Town and the Mafia. The Mafia will have one player that's the Godfather. The Mafia members will know who the Godfather is, but the Godfather will not know who the members of the mafia are. The Mafia cannot contact the Godfather, he must contact a member of the mafia team first. There are no night actions in this game. 2) There are two leaders in the game real game, the President and the Chancellor, based on the Weimar Republic. However, in this version, there will be the Mayor and the Town Council Chair. Every day, the Mayor will be selected at random. The Mayor can be town or mafia. The Mayor then picks one player to be his Town Council Chair. The players will then have 24 hours to vote Yes or No if they want this government to continue. If the majority votes yes, then what I explain in part 3 will occur. If the government is voted down, the mayor is again randomly selected (it will not be the previous person) and this mayor nominates a new chairperson. The new chairperson can be anyone that the new mayor picks. Neither the Mayor nor the Town Council Chair can be a member of the previous day's government. For example, if on Day One Player A is Mayor and he picks Player B to be his chairperson and the government is approved, then Player A and Player B cannot be nominated as the next chairperson. Player A will also never be the Mayor two days in a row. 3) Every day either a Town or Mafia policy will be passed. In the board game, there are 6 "liberal" cards and 11 "fascist" cards. Every day, three cards are drawn from the deck and given to the President, who then discards one and gives two to the Chancellor. In this version, there will be 6 Town cards and 11 Mafia cards in a deck that I will create and draw from myself every day. So, once the Mayor's government is approved, he will be given three policy choices in a PM that I send him, which are the first three cards that I've drawn from the deck that I've created. The Mayor will then pick one policy to discard and then I will give the remaining two policies to the Town Council Chair. The Town Council Chair must then PM me back which policy he wishes to enact. Until the policy is enacted, the Mayor and Town Council Chair CANNOT communicate with the rest of the players in any way. The policies may be drawn in any of the following ways: - Town, Town, Town - Town, Town, Mafia - Town, Mafia, Mafia - Mafia, Mafia, Mafia So, if three town policies are drawn, that means that the Town Council Chair will obviously be forced to submit a town policy to me. If three mafia policies are drawn, that means that the Town Council Chair will be forced to submit a mafia policy to me. If three governments fail on one day, then the first policy that is on top of the deck will be drawn. This is very risky. Win Conditions: For the Town: The game is won for the town once it passes five of the six town policies that are in the "deck" or if the Godfather is killed. (More on how the Godfather can die later) For the Mafia: The game is won for the mafia once is passes six of the eleven mafia policies that are in the "deck" or if the Godfather is elected Town Council Chair after four mafia policies are enacted. Special Actions: The Mayor has special actions that he can perform after each mafia policy is enacted. The President does not get any special powers with each town policy enacted. - After the first mafia policy is passed, the Mayor can choose one player to investigate. The Mayor will then be told only the affiliation of the player. - After the second mafia policy is passed, the Mayor can once again choose one player to investigate. - After the third mafia policy is passed, the Mayor can choose who he wishes the next mayor to be. - After the fourth mafia policy is passed, the Mayor can kill one player. He must announce who he wishes to kill in thread. He will have 24 hours to submit his decision to allow discussion. - After the fifth mafia policy is passed, the Mayor can once again kill another player. - After the sixth mafia policy is passed, the mafia wins. Some standard mafia rules are still applicable. No talking in thread once you're dead, no OOC, no editing posts, etc. Let me know if you have any problems or questions! P.S.: You might notice my avatars are worse than usual. That's because the LEGO aspect of this game is taking a back seat to the regular game, so I did them up as quick as possible. They look like a noob did them, I know. If you want to make your own avatar and you have the pieces for your character, go for it! I may even update your avatar in the main thread.

Also, there will be no character bios in this game. Your role PM will say either Town or Scum.

General Discussion and Announcements
Bob replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Not a fan of DS9, so this one was actually going to be a ripoff of Voyager. -
As a general note, the confirmation and start of the game will be sometime after the 4th of July.
-
The mafia does not get a writeboard, but PMs between the mafia are allowed, but not really necessary except for the godfather needing to contact the other mafia members. There will also not be a daily lynch nor will the mafia get to kill a player at night. There's a huge possibility that nobody will die in this game. Finally, discussion is very much so encouraged. There will be game nights, but mostly as a period of time in between days.

Good to see all sorts of interest! I've narrowed it down to 16 people, but that can change.

Hello! Secret Enemies is a game based on a relatively new board game that was created by the minds behind Cards Against Humanity called Secret Hitler. That game is set in 1932 in the Weimar Republic in Germany prior to Hitler's rise to power. Since I lack Nazi and 1932 German politicians, and since the name Secret Hitler is a bit controversial, this game will be called Secret Enemies forevermore on Eurobricks. Since this is the prototype test of concept game on the forum, it'll have a very basic theme similar to the general premise but in a more "LEGO friendly" way. Future hosts of this game mode will be able to be far more creative and will be able to put a proper theme. Imagine this being the very first mafia game on Eurobricks and it was simply called Mafia. Now we call things "X Mafia", so in the future, we'll be able to call games "X Secret Enemies" for example. I personally am looking forward to when I host Prohibition Secret Enemies. Enough about the theme and future possibilities. Now to explain the nature of the game. You can Google the actual game's rules if you wish, but keep in mind that the following rules will be slightly different to adapt it to a forums setting. 1) There are two teams, the Town and the Mafia. As a fair warning, there is a possibility that this game could erupt into flames and break rather easily. It is a test of concept game and we're all guinea pigs. The game is relatively new (not even out in stores yet, I've heard about it through a friend) so it's likely never been done in this format before. It's possible that I might make a mistake or someone else might make a mistake and we'll have to start all over again and randomize the roles, but I do want to get a working version of this no matter how many tries it takes in order to add a different sort of game to the forums and for future hosts. Right now I am looking for an unspecified number of players. I still plan on working out more logistics, so when I have a number you'll be the first to know. I am likely to lean towards the more experienced mafia players simply due to the complex nature of this game, so don't be offended if you're not picked. If anyone has any questions please ask before looking online. I have every right to change the rules even if it's in the middle of the game if I see something that's gone a bit wrong but is not game changing. I will announce any changes in big bold letters in the day thread and the general discussion thread.

SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Conclusion
Bob replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I had a lot of fun! Especially trying to save myself. I would've unvoted myself. I said most of my thoughts in the deadboard, but I believe PMs need to be curtailed in future games. I believe it's up to the host whether or not to ban them, but it makes the game much easier for the town if they can just all meet together, especially in smaller games. I can't anymore because I've revealed it, but perhaps someone else will have that role. -
SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Day 4
Bob replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
As I feared, nobody is speaking. Like I said, the scum are satisfied with my death and the town just doesn't care enough to want to play. I'm not mad about being lynched, just a bit disappointed that you guys won't shake the idea that all neutrals are bad and that not every role on this forum has to be exactly how the wiki describes it. Look at evidence from previous games and open your minds a bit more. Regardless, it seems my fate has been sealed. I'll be cheering on the town from the sidelines, though. Please look into Alyssa tonight or tomorrow when I flip neutral. -
SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Day 4
Bob replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Look how quiet it is now. Do you think that's a coincidence? The scum are satisfied with the lynch of a neutral today and the townies are too passive to get involved. -
SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Day 4
Bob replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Laughing all the way to the conclusion, are we? I doubt you'll be able to kill everyone in time. However people don't want to listen to reason. They'd rather take the easy way out, which is why I'm being lynched. It's really sad. I'm not giving up. I'm adamant about my claim and I know I'm right. Plus I want to win as a neutral. Nobody ever makes me a neutral player. I don't think I've ever been a neutral. That's just not fair. Hey, whoever hosts next, make me a neutral again. It got screwed up this time because the town doesn't want me help. If you're not going to kill Alyssa tonight (bad move, you should do that) then I'd suggest investigating her and blocking her and then seeing what happens. Especially when I flip neutral tomorrow. I guess I understand why you guys don't believe me though. If the roles were reversed, would I give thought to this? Probably not, the peer pressure about unvoting makes everyone hesitate, even in the face of a neutral player who is willing to help the town. People are too worried about their own skins rather than trying to do what's best for the town. Godfather and Miller aren't really third party roles. Neutral characters are designed to be wonky. -
SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Day 4
Bob replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The host isn't lying if the role is designed to be that way. I'm really damned if I do or damned if I don't at this point. If for some reason you decide not to lynch me, I'll be killed tonight by either Alyssa or the scum out of fear that I'll reveal which one of them spoke to me. I've handed you the serial killer, it's up to you to act on that. I'm not a big fan of flailing mostly because I think it's useless. If I was scum then I'd just give up, but I'm not scum. I've done it before, but that was mostly a humorous flail. Although some of you might think this is funny when it clearly isn't. Don't just hand this game over to the scum. If (although it seems I am, sadly) I am lynched and when I come up as having told the truth tomorrow, please read over my statements once more. -

SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Day 4
Bob replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
You wouldn't always lynch a third party player, at least I wouldn't depending on their role. Some third party players have historically been helpful to the town. And yes, it is normal.
