"None of them were bullet wounds, however the one on his arm appeared to be a bump from a fall, since there was a bit of swelling. The others would require to much speculation to guess." "There wasn't any sort of a bruise on Mrs. McGovern. I believe by all accounts they had a happy marriage." At that moment, Mayor Bob approaches. "The coroner has other matters to attend to, I'm sure of that. I believe you should try to get some investigating done today. Pick somewhere that you'd like to go to." Doctor Marcus and Doctor Barker depart.

"His blood alcohol content was way over the legal limit. He had a few other markings on his body. There was a bruise on his leg, torso and on his arm that didn't appear to be recent." "The Monterey County morgue."

"Blunt force trauma to the head." "I found a bruise nearby his jaw that wasn't really visible at the crime scene. I'm assuming this bruise was caused when someone struck him, causing him to fall back." "Mrs. McGovern was an obvious suicide and Chief McGovern was killed a few moments after he hit his head on the fountain side. His body temperature told me that he was dead at least six hours, putting his murder somewhere at midnight."

CHAPTER TWO - MEET THE CORONER The townspeople woke the next day, and, after breakfast, assembled nearby the Town Hall. A few moments later, the familiar doctor's car was in view, driving down the street towards the gathered amateur investigators. Two men got out; Doctor Barker and an older doctor. "Hello, I'm Doctor Marcus. I performed the autopsy on Chief McGovern. I'll answer any questions you might have." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Players (14) Mr. Jack Montgomery --- Mrlegoninja Mrs. Julia Montgomery --- Dannylonglegs Jeremy Montgomery --- ADHO15 Mr. Alex Jordan --- Cralegoboy Mrs. Sarah Jordan --- Brickdoctor Mr. Winston Robertson --- Rumble Strike Amber Robertson --- Peanuts Officer Steven Jackson --- Professor Flitwick Ashley Baker --- K-nut Marcus Baker --- CallMePieOrDie Officer Ryan Hutch --- badboytje88 Mr. James Swanson --- CorneliusMurdock Robbie Swanson --- Jedi master Brick Deputy Chief Jackie Scott --- Fugazi Deceased: Police Chief Arnold McGovern --- def Rules: (Borrowed partly from Dragonator’s Mystery Manor and Red Scare Mystery) 1. There are 16 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. I will always give a detailed explanation of a room, however, feel free to ask for clarification. 3. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 4. Please try to avoid editing your posts. If you made a spelling error, simply post immediately after correcting your spelling error. If you wish to add more, a double post can be made, however use this rule wisely. Obviously, you may not make a quadruple post. Please wait for someone else to post before you post something else, unless absolutely necessary. 5. You can reference anything in pop culture, as this is being played real time. You can mention current events if you want to. You can use any electronic device that you wish to use, with exception. For example, you can’t take out your time machine to determine who the killers are. 6. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. However, you may not return to a room that you were already in, so ensure that you have searched every part of the room before leaving. 7. There are a few NPC’s in certain areas of the town. These NPC’s might have evidence, however they might not. Also, the evidence given by them might be false information. You cannot do anything other than talk to these NPC’s. You can only go and speak to them when you arrive in their area. For example, each NPC is in a certain part of the town. If you’re at point A, you cannot go and speak to an NPC at point B. 8. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. However, there are Miscellaneous Actions. With this system, if you’d like to PM me a non-lethal action (I.E; “I’d like to go visit Player A”), then that’s fine. However, things that could harm people (I.E; “I’d like to go kill Player A”) are not allowed. These are only allowed at night. Night comes at the end of every chapter. I’ll allow most anything, so let your imaginations go wild. However, you can’t leave Lexington. That is not a valid action. 10. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. 11. There will be a life-point system. Every player starts out with ten life-points, and regenerates one life point at the end of a chapter. For example, if you fall and twist your ankle, you’d likely lose one life point. If you fall off a boat into an engine prop, you’re likely to lose most if not all of your life points. Think logically. Perhaps walking along the rickety boards in the construction zone is not a good idea. 12. The host is usually always right. If you think he’s wrong, feel free to send me a message about it. 13. Most of all have fun. This game is meant to be enjoyable despite the "questionable" things occurring. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play. You may now speak to: Doctor Harold Marcus, Coroner Doctor Barker

The sun soon set on the townspeople, and they dispersed for the day, going back to their homes. They felt like they accomplished something today, and looked forward to what tomorrow would bring. However, evil is still afoot, and everyone knows they will have to sleep with one eye open, just in case. Not that the townsfolk will be doing much sleeping. If you want to send in an action, you're more than welcome to. Here's a copy of the rule in case you forgot it/are to lazy to look back: 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. I don't really know much about computers. I hit the power button, and the magic box makes images appear, and allows me to come here and host games.
-
The Chief loved technology, so it runs on Windows 7.
-
After a fight over the keyboard, the word 'match' is entered. It is a success, and the computer is unlocked.

Lexington Police Department: Officer Files: Deputy Chief Jackie Scott Notes: Officer Scott is a highly motivated and dedicated officer. She has ascended the ranks quickly due to her achievements and abilities throughout her job. I believe she will make a fine Chief when I decide to retire. Officer Steven Jackson Notes: Officer Jackson has served on the police force for several years, however he still lacks the capability to stick to the rules. He's constantly let arrested criminals go upon hearing their stories, and sympathizing with them. It is because of this that he will likely never become Deputy Chief as long as I am in charge of this police force. Officer Ryan Hutch Notes: Officer Hutch is our traffic officer, and has accumulated quite a bit of revenue through tickets. He is a dedicated and loyal officer who views the LPD Guidelines Book as his Bible. Officer Hutch will make a fine candidate for Chief one day, however he is not first in line due to his strictness and literal adherence to the rules. There is no key, and there is also no way to force the case open without the key. Deputy Chief Scott dumps the candy onto the desk, but there's only candy in the bowl. "It broke. The Chief ordered a new one online." There's nothing in the picture frames except for the pictures. "What have we decided to use for the password?" The Mayor pokes his head into the Chief's Office. "The sun is starting to set, please finish up your investigations quickly." There is just a bit over two hours left in Chapter One.
-
There is indeed a password. There is also a sheet of paper stuck to the computer that reads: "Password Reminder: When one enters a cold dark room with one match, what is the first thing they must light? A candle, an oil lamp, or an oil heater?" You may only enter an answer once, so choose wisely. There are three files, all are classified. "Stop focusing on Seth Barron!" a voice booms from above. There is a dust spot and an open socket.
-
On the desk are a few pictures, the most notable are one of the Chief and the Mayor, one of the Chief and his wife, and one of the Chief in his old uniform. Also on the desk is a computer, a coffee mug, and a bowl of candy. There are office supplies, such as pens and paper inside his desk. He went to Dartmouth. Inside the cabinets are files on all police officers. In the other is a locked briefcase. ] Ask Officer Hutch or Deputy Chief Scott. There's nothing in or under the fish tank. The fridge contains a few microwavable meals, which is odd because there isn't a microwave present.
-
"He's a bully that graduated last year and went off to college." Deputy Scott enters the Chief's Office. There's a desk, an empty fish tank, a small mini-refrigerator, and two filing cabinets. Officer Hutch can answer these questions. Since you are a police officer, you can have a look at the records if you wish.
-
"I'd like to think I knew the Chief very well. I'd rather not speak ill of the dead, but he could get a bit rowdy when he was intoxicated. He wasn't acting very differently yesterday, but I didn't see him after he clocked out and left for the day. The police records have been PMed to Officer Hutch.
-
"Like I said, the Chief hasn't really been involved in any cases, he simply supervises us. I can't remember if anyone was released off the top of my head, you'd have to check the criminal records. You can find the records in the file cabinet, however only police officers can check them." The cabinets are locked; only police officers can open them. "The Lexington Police Department has closed every case that's ever been brought to us. " The Chief clocked in at eight thirty yesterday morning, and clocked out at three thirty in the afternoon. Officer Hutch announces to the group his intentions, since his statement wasn't italicized. He then decides to go get water rather than announcing it. The police station has three rooms: the first floor open squad room, the second floor open interrogation room, and the Chief's Office.
-
The front desk, a water cooler, and a file cabinet. "Oh no, Betty is dead too? I'm not sure the Chief has worked on any big cases in the past few years. He usually just supervises all of us."
-
The townspeople arrive at the police station, Deputy Chief Scott holds the door for the townsfolk. You are now at the Police Station, first floor You may speak to: Officer Ted Patterson "There are two floors in the police station."

The Chief and his wife share a closet. He has a few of his uniforms, and she dominates the rest of the closet with various shoes, dresses, and other articles of clothing. Neither of them were on medication. Toiletries are inside the medicine cabinet, however. Nothing is in or on those various locations. At that moment, Doctor Barker walks in. "Well, I wasn't expecting to be back here again until tomorrow. I'll be taking the body, and I'll have to seal this entire household for a forensics report." Where would you like to go next?
-
The serial number on the gun matches the Chief's serial number, concluding that the gun is the Chief's There's some dust under the rug, but not much else. Entering the bathroom, it's quite small. There's a sink basin, a shower/bathtub combo, a large mirror, a toilet, and a medicine cabinet.
-
There's five bullets left, meaning that one has been used. There's a door to the bathroom in one corner, the door into the bedroom in the other, a bed and nightstand in the other corner, and a large closet in the other corner. There's a large circular rug in the center of the room. The note reads: "Dear friends, I cannot live any longer without my dear husband. My husband was the last person I had in my life, as we never had any children. He was a good man, even with his drinking, and I can't see myself living without him. Goodbye, I hope you'll all understand. -Betty McGovern Insider the drawers is a hairbrush, a book, a pen, a flashlight, a few batteries, and a cell phone charger. There are hairs on the brush, but it's impossible to see if they don't belong to the Chief of his wife without a sample of their hair. She always takes it from him before he goes out drinking.
-
The townspeople arrive at the home of Chief Arnold McGovern. Betty McGovern (def) answers the door. "How can I help you?" she asks. "Yes, do you know what happened to your husband's gun?" a member of the crowd asks. "Of course, I always it before he goes out drinking. He started early last night, so I made him come home first before he went back out, and I took his gun. Where is Arnold?" The police officers present break the bad news to Mrs. McGovern, who breaks down crying. "Excuse me...I need a moment." she says, as she goes back inside. About a few minutes later, the police hear a gunshot from inside. They race inside. Betty McGovern (def) lies in the bed, dead. "I've called an ambulance. They should be here shortly. In the meantime, let's check out the Chief's Bedroom for clues."
-
"He was talking to me about how we should really step up our recruiting perks to really attract more people. It was a rather short conversation." The Chief was not working on any cases prior to his death. The townspeople begin the trek to the Chief's House, which is outside of town.
-
There is no answer. You were at the police station, finishing up a report on a traffic violation.
-
About a foot deep Can you be more specific about project? Do you mean a case? Officer Hutch opens the Chief's wallet, and finds a few credit cards, some money, his drivers license, and a stick of gum. He also opens his cell phone, and sees that the Chief made one phone call to Deputy Chief Scott at 5:30 P.M. and six phone calls to his wife at various hours after that. "He was rather loud and boisterous I'd say. He talked about a major case he solved by himself, but I doubt that it was true because he was quite drunk at the time, and it was a ridiculous story. Oh yes, he of course had his gun with him. He used it in as a prop in his reenactment of his 'major case' story. The Chief visited the shop with a different girl every few weeks! Sometimes he'd show up with his wife, poor thing didn't know what he was doing behind her back." "I'm taking the body now, the coroner and I will be back tomorrow with a full autopsy report." The doctor gets into his car and leaves as the ambulance drivers take the Chief's body away.
