  1. Deputy Chief Scott leads them to the trashcan.
  2. The slasher didn't drop anything. The two of you lack the proper equipment to check and dust for fingerprints. But, let's pretend someone brought their CSI:Miami kit to the investigation today. There are no fingerprints on the bike. I can't answer that.
  3. Nothing is loose on the motorcycle, only the tires are slashed. Rather deep, however it took time for all the air to leave the tire.
  4. You don't know where the trashcan is. Please be more specific about what you'd like to investigate. Marcus has lost four life points, bringing him down to 6/10 life points. These regenerate at night, so if he doesn't get hurt any further today, he'll be at 7/10 tomorrow, and so on.
  5. CHAPTER THREE - OUCH! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's late at night in Lexington; Marcus Baker is out with his toy phaser dressed in his Starfleet Uniform. "Whee!" says Marcus. "I'm having so much fun out late at night when I should be sleeping!" A loud crack is heard as a baseball bat impacts with Marcus' head, causing him to drop his toy and fall to the ground. Elsewhere, another figure is throwing away items, oblivious to the figure watching in the bushes. "Hey!" the figure in the bushes yells. The figure throwing items away gasps, and runs off. "Hm. I suppose that I should wait until tomorrow to tell everyone about this." the figure says, as it walks off. Outside the police station, a figure approaches with a knife. "Hehehe, I'm so sneaky coming here at night." the figure says. It slashes Officer Hutch's motorcycle tires, then dashes off into the inky darkness. The sun soon rises over the town. The first of the amateur investigators to arrive is Winston. He checked his watch, waiting for the others to arrive. "Winston!" a distraught Officer Hutch says. "Look what some hooligan did to my bike!" "How dreadful!" Winston remarks. "This is my most prized possession ever!" Hutch's bike falls with a large thud when Officer Jackson, Ashley, and Deputy Scott arrive. "I'll get a mechanic to fix it for you, Ryan." Deputy Scott says. Soon, all but one of the novice detectives show up. "Where's Marcus?" Ashley asks. "I'm here..." Marcus says. Ashley rushes to help her brother. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Players (14) Mr. Jack Montgomery --- Mrlegoninja Mrs. Julia Montgomery --- Dannylonglegs Jeremy Montgomery --- ADHO15 Mr. Alex Jordan --- Cralegoboy Mrs. Sarah Jordan --- Brickdoctor Mr. Winston Robertson --- Rumble Strike Amber Robertson --- Peanuts Officer Steven Jackson --- Professor Flitwick Ashley Baker --- K-nut Marcus Baker --- CallMePieOrDie Officer Ryan Hutch --- badboytje88 Mr. James Swanson --- CorneliusMurdock Robbie Swanson --- Jedi master Brick Deputy Chief Jackie Scott --- Fugazi Deceased: Police Chief Arnold McGovern --- def Rules: (Borrowed partly from Dragonator’s Mystery Manor and Red Scare Mystery) 1. There are 16 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. I will always give a detailed explanation of a room, however, feel free to ask for clarification. 3. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 4. Please try to avoid editing your posts. If you made a spelling error, simply post immediately after correcting your spelling error. If you wish to add more, a double post can be made, however use this rule wisely. Obviously, you may not make a quadruple post. Please wait for someone else to post before you post something else, unless absolutely necessary. 5. You can reference anything in pop culture, as this is being played real time. You can mention current events if you want to. You can use any electronic device that you wish to use, with exception. For example, you can’t take out your time machine to determine who the killers are. 6. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. However, you may not return to a room that you were already in, so ensure that you have searched every part of the room before leaving. 7. There are a few NPC’s in certain areas of the town. These NPC’s might have evidence, however they might not. Also, the evidence given by them might be false information. You cannot do anything other than talk to these NPC’s. You can only go and speak to them when you arrive in their area. For example, each NPC is in a certain part of the town. If you’re at point A, you cannot go and speak to an NPC at point B. 8. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. However, there are Miscellaneous Actions. With this system, if you’d like to PM me a non-lethal action (I.E; “I’d like to go visit Player A”), then that’s fine. However, things that could harm people (I.E; “I’d like to go kill Player A”) are not allowed. These are only allowed at night. Night comes at the end of every chapter. I’ll allow most anything, so let your imaginations go wild. However, you can’t leave Lexington. That is not a valid action. 10. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. 11. There will be a life-point system. Every player starts out with ten life-points, and regenerates one life point at the end of a chapter. For example, if you fall and twist your ankle, you’d likely lose one life point. If you fall off a boat into an engine prop, you’re likely to lose most if not all of your life points. Think logically. Perhaps walking along the rickety boards in the construction zone is not a good idea. 12. The host is usually always right. If you think he’s wrong, feel free to send me a message about it. 13. Most of all have fun. This game is meant to be enjoyable despite the "questionable" things occurring. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play.
  6. Pretty much they're for fun, however if you're lucky with your choice of action, you might learn something.
  7. They're not supposed to help in solving a murder, they're meant to be lighthearted actions at night, which is why you can do most anything.
  8. These actions are whatever you would like to do at night. You can follow someone, beat someone up, knock over people's trash cans, break windows; it's really up to you.
  9. So, I've counted up how many times people posted in Chapter Two, which has 77 total posts. (Note, some of these percentages have been rounded up) Bob the Construction Man: 19 posts or 24% Mrlegoninja: 4 posts; or 5% Dannylonglegs: 1 post; or 1% ADHO15: 2 posts; or 3% Cralegoboy: 1 post; or 1% Brickdoctor: 11 posts; or 14% Rumble Strike: 1 post; or 1% Peanuts: 7 posts; or 9% Professor Flitwick: 5 posts; or 6% K-nut: 2 posts; or 2% CallMePieOrDie: 3 posts; or 4% badboytje88: 2 posts; or 3% CorneliusMurdock: 3 posts; or 4% Jedi master Brick: 3 posts; or 4% Fugazi: 13 posts; or 16% In 96 hours of Chapter Two, there were 77 posts, and almost a quarter of them were mine. Seriously, if participation is this low in Chapter Two, I can't even fathom it in later chapters. Also, Chapter Two has been closed for 24 hours, and I've gotten 2 actions in. I'm at a loss as to what to do.
  10. Sorry for putting you through all sorts of bad situations in Suburbia. (First you were a dead Chief, then a dead Chief's Wife, and now an unfortunate citizen.)
  11. The sun began to set and slowly disappear from sight, as the townspeople dispersed for the evening. The people of Lexington intended on squeezing every last drop out of the last weekend in the summer. The Montgomery Family welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Jordan for dinner. The neighbors have had dinner together every Monday for years. Jeremy seems less than disinterested, however he's still pleased to see the neighbors he regards as his second family. James teaches his aerobics classes, free of charge on Muscular Monday, while Robbie sits in the background, slowly drifting off to sleep amongst the various flora around him. A radio plays an upbeat tune that the class stays in rhythm with. Officer Hutch hands out a parking ticket to an Unlucky Citizen (def). "I thought this was a one time only deal!" the Unlucky Citizen cries. "This is the third time I've been placed in an unfavorable situation!" "It's not personal. Besides, you actually live through this one." a voice calls from above. Winston Robertson is absolutely giddy over the arrival of his newest artifact from Asia. His daughter, Amber, is less than enthused of another exhibit to the museum her father calls a house. Officer Jackson, Ashley, and Marcus enjoy the last few moments of sunlight, buying ice cream from a vendor at the beach. Marcus talks about his favorite Star Trek episode ever, while Ashley and Officer Jackson pay for the ice cream. The vendor smiles watching the young couple and the third wheel as he prepares their ice cream cones. As the sun sets, and most of the citizens are in bed, one stays awake: Deputy Chief Scott. She spends the night looking over evidence before finally falling asleep at her desk. However, the night is far from over. End Chapter Two Please send in your actions. This thread, as well as this one and this one can now be locked.
  12. "Sure, I'll hold onto it." The squad room has four desks, in rows by two. The desks have phones on them, as well as a lamp and some pens. There is no way to know how long they've been in the briefcase. There's no dates on the papers. It's a Smith and Wesson SW1911. Several places all over the area. Since the day is almost over, there will be no more investigations. If you'd like, you can send in your actions early. You may converse amongst yourselves until the chapter has concluded in about two hours.
  13. There aren't any names listed with the letters.
  14. As Sarah leaves to fetch her bullet-proof vest, she's stopped by Deputy Chief Scott. "You're really taking this life point thing seriously, aren't you? " Sarah shudders, and then reads the contents of the papers. There are several letters like this, all addressed to different women, including the Chief's wife. The pistol has all of its rounds in it.
  15. Dressed like a complete megablock, Sarah opens the briefcase. "That was a bit of a disappointment." Sarah says. Inside the case is a one hundred dollar bill, a pistol, and a collection of papers secured by a rubber band.
  16. There's a key inside the box. "The Chief's house is still sealed, but for a different reason. I believe the Chief's family is coming in, and taking their belongings. It's their right to do so, since it is not a crime scene."
  17. Sarah opens the box using a very complicated system. Nothing happens when the box opens.
  18. The interrogation room is a small windowless room with a metal table and four metal chairs in the middle. Other than that, the room is empty. Officer Hutch checks the floor, chairs, and other furniture, but he cannot find the key. Inside the closet however, is a box labeled "Do Not Open". ??????? The document was first created on that day.
  19. The document was last edited on the day the Chief died, the 3rd of September.
  20. You'd have to ask the other officers. "I was so sure that he did it...The attempted murder occurred at the docks, and Branhauser was the last one to have checked out. It was very embarrassing...And, yes, that is my phone number." Deputy Scott takes the briefcase. That's up to Deputy Chief Scott, who is now in control of the briefcase.
  21. Note, the tourist was not killed, he made a recovery and left. It was written on the 3rd and today is the 5th. The majority of the phone numbers are for other police departments, the local FBI directory, the poison control center, and the fire department. There is one number marked "JS", though.
  22. The report ends there. The report ends there.
  23. It would take you the entire day to read every document that's on the Chief's computer. Would you like to narrow it down? There aren't any documents on the Chief's desk and all the pictures have been checked. The documents that are labeled with the police officers' names are the same that were in the Chief's file cabinet. There haven't been any recent cases. The Chief was evaluating all of the officers. There is an unfinished evaluation of Deputy Chief Scott, last edited two days ago. There's also a previously unseen evaluation on the police station.
  24. There's a few documents labeled with each of the officers. Other documents include important emergency phone numbers, case files, reports, and the like. It would appear that all of the files from the file cabinet are on the Chief's Computer as well. On the night the Chief was killed, he was scheduled to have dinner with his wife at 6 in the evening and then see a movie with his wife. None of the pictures appear to be helpful in any way. There's various pictures of the Chief in uniform, crime scene photos, and pictures from the latest LPD Barbeque, all in one folder.
  25. The townspeople arrive at the police station, and unlock the Chief's Computer again. On the desktop are four folders marked cases, reports, evaluations, and photographs, a calender program, and various word documents. The background image is a palm tree.
