  1. Thanks! :D that's really news to me :P but how can an R18 run on the street?
  2. Thanks thanks :) I want to make the car even lower, but the minifigure cannot really fit in as he is lying down already and the steering wheel cannot find any space to get it. Also, the mudguard piece also prevents the window from lowering (I cannot push it one stud to the back as the car actually has its seat very close to the front wheels). I will see what I can do later to improve it, and I welcome any suggestion :D Thanks to Ghost Racer but it will be more constructive if you have some concrete advice :)
  3. Thanks thanks :D lightningtiger, the tail light is embedded in the bumper, the bottom line of the back :P there is also one under the spoiler! :D guess the opponents will see it clearly, or may not as the R18 dashes in the speed of light, haha!
  4. The new 60025 excited me at first, but when it was out, I was so disappointed about the design. The 6-stud to 8-stud transition was awkward. I would say this is more like a starter set. However, the color scheme was good. At the same time, I was watching the news on the recent Le Mans 24-hour racing, and I was so fascinated by the champion Audi R18 car. Hey, that's exactly what Lego should have done, perhaps! It took me nearly 1 week to research on that car, and 3 days to create this Lego version of the R18. Let's get into the racing tracks and have a look! Overview of the car: The hardest part is the tail. I did 4 versions in total, and I finally adopted this. I used the 1x2x1 piece sideways as the side exhaust, and integrated the brake light into the bottom bumper line. Looks ready to dash, right? The crew is doing a fine tuning... Reference image of Audi R18: (Google R18 for more images!) Okay, after a week I finally completed the modification on the truck as well. And here you go, the transporter! I have been struggling for the whole week figuring out whether I should use 8-stud or 9-stud or 10-stud container. 8 is not enough as the R18 is actually a little more than 8.5 stud. 10 is too big and it is so difficult to make it look good with the 6-stud wide truck head. Finally I used the uncommon 9 stud, which is not bad at all. The R18 fits perfectly inside while the trailer can "grow" smoothly from the head using some tilting pieces. The tail. Come on quick quick quick! Unload it! So that's basically what it is like after the huge surgery. It doesn't take too many extra bricks, which are mostly used on the base for the trailer, top of the trailer (it is 2 bricks taller) and the racing car. I used the same amount of wheels from 60025 too! Well, the trailer can be detached, as usual. You can see the barrels of Octan petrol stored at the front of the trailer too! Maybe I will make a Shell LMP later to compete with this R18. Let me know what you think! :D
  5. Wonderful! Each car has its own style and detailing, and they are just adorable...very good! I think Superman will win, but I am not sure if his body goes cross the finishing line first, or his car XD
  6. That's a nice creation, very cartoonish with a sense of humor. I like the little bird at the top! Very clever assemble!
  7. Wonderful review! Seriously, I am not that into the Star Wars (only got 6 planes so far since the first set was released), but this one just caught my eyes. I was like...holy, I must get this, when I saw the first online image. Now, the more I look at your review, the more I think I will get this. The ship is truly amazing probably because it is quite detailed and quite accurate to the original. Like you said, it has the SW feel to it. Okay, I am done. I am heading to the store (but the owner said the set would only come in two weeks; I am from Hong Kong)... Thanks! Beautiful pictures too!
  8. Very beautifully designed and executed! I am amazed by the interior because I really didn't think of such intense furnishing inside from the appearance of the buildings. Wonderful!
  9. Thanks thanks! :D Suddenly I think that this bank provides a lot of good plots for some superheroes clips / stories in this brick city XD haha! For those who are curious, the empty piece of land next to this bank will have another building, a little restaurant!
  10. Thanks to you all! :D You guys really encourage me to do more ;) Thanks Andy. Do you mean the BURPs on the dump truck? Since I only use half of the base plate, the other side is now just a construction site, without anything yet. A dump truck (working on this project, haha) just parked there with some rocks in it, so yeah... And do you mean point 4? Sure! Feel free to use the idea! :D Thanks again!
  11. Haha, if you look carefully, that's not the Ninjago one. I transformed it and made it a city crane, with all the mechanisms that a real crane has. :)
  12. This is my first time to do an MOC modular building, and it is a chance for me to put my profession into practice in the brick city! (I am working as an architect) There is still a lot of room for improvement and detail refinement, but at least the basic shape is all here. Yes, this is a bank, the Lego Bank of the Golden Scorpion. Finally, the Lego citizens can get their money here for shopping at the Grand Emporium and watching movies at the Palace Cinema! And yes, finally my street is starting to look different than the others! Overall view, the workers are cleaning up the place and preparing to get off work... The main entrance has two doors, left and right, separated by a little pond. The middle fountain is a mushroom jet, and water at the entrance? It is all about feng shui! (in Chinese feng shui, flowing water means money!) The front elevation is decorated with a lot of golden pieces, and the scorpion logo is right there too. It has a golden and silver on its left and right sides respectively, symbolizing trading and monetary matters. Let's talk a look at the first floor. Instead of making the whole floor removable, I retain the front facade of the 1st floor to the G/F, as a little test to see if this section cut is more useful or interesting... G/F . Basic Services (card return, passbook check, ATM, appointment booking...) The ground floor has a small counter for some basic and easy services. A guard is at the door, while you can see the ATM on the left. On the right is a lift to other floors, and it is a bubble lift! (glass lift) Another angle of the floor. A staff is handing a new credit card to the client... Let's have a ride on the lift to the next floor! 1/F Bank Vault The bank vault storing the most valuable things is located on the 1st floor. Today some green money cases are delivered and a staff is watching. Well, sounds like there are enough gold bars to buy the new Lone Ranger Lego sets coming this summer! 2/F Premium / Advance Services The topmost floor is for advance banking services, where you can find a bigger counter (I should put more staff in). The table on the left allows customers to talk to staff on more serious matters like setting up new accounts, insurance policies or getting more information on new saving plans. There are also seats for customers to wait during busy hours. Another angle. The call button of the lift is not on the wall but on a pedestal. This guy at the counter is taking out quite some money from his account! There is nothing on the roof for security reasons. You know people can go to another building from one roof to another in the modular building series, right? It is too easy! So here, there is nothing but a roof with security wire beneath. There is a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) machine but again, it is well secured with alarm system linked to the police station. I guess the crooks cannot get into this bank that easy like in the set 3661! Here is what it is like to be next to the Town Hall! :) Oh, the money transport truck has just arrived! Hope you enjoy it! The bank starts running this Monday! Thanks!
  13. Nice yellow color, and I am actually more interested in the special bike color! :P I wanna have that bike!
  14. Thanks thanks :D It is not really C&C MOCs, but some C&C vehicles definitely provide great inspiration for my next creation!
  15. Thanks to all of you for the support :D Well, yes, a little bit :P I guess our brick city needs some advancement too, right? :P Yes, I did! Though I am more into Starcraft II now, haha...
  16. While some people build their brick cities with more and more cars and planes, I always want mine to be more than that. It should evolve with new technology. I bought the set 7686 for some parts, but what was left was for something more intriguing. I always have the idea to make a more futuristic plane. C'mon, with Tony Stark in my city, I guess the city can benefit from his technology! Haha, so I recreated the "chopper", and embrace the future with a new design! I did some sketches first, all based on the plane Orca in C&C computer game. So the team reassembled! The orange rescue and repair team now includes the standard flatbed truck 60017, and on the right it is my another MOC Wheel-lift Wrecker, and this time we are to see the middle truck, the Orca Carrier and its plane! I imagine that this technology is just new, and in later years when the world war breaks out again in the C&C era (like 2050-21XX I guess), the Orca is transformed to an attack fighter. Anyway, that means this little plane is a precedent to the Orca fighter! The truck, while carrying the plane and transporting it, also provides tools and supply for maintaining the plane. Hey man, time for a little flight test! Two full throttle engines make this plane fly better than a chopper, probably! Overview of the plane... The tail...you can also see the engines now move to horizontal position, which is a flying mode. There is a landing gear at the tail that can be folded up. The two floodlights are perfect for search and rescue work! The truck also has an outdoor-use radar and computer system, that helps the pilot to locate himself on the plane during rescue missions. Did you see the little + hole in the middle of the plane? That is where the "tool clips" are installed for different missions. I will show you more later here how that works!
  17. Now that explains why the Killer Croc story was so...eehhh.... Good plot! And I love the details of each story! Keep it up!
  18. I have the previous blue cement mixer 7990, and I like it very much. Then now Lego redoes it and releases a new yellow one! Since I don't have unlimited space and I don't need another one, I think maybe it is a good idea to modify the old car to the new style! That will as well let me learn some new techniques from the instruction book :D So there you go :D I haven't got the pair of car doors yet and so I just use what the original provides. You may notice that I have one stud longer for the head of the truck. I think the original yellow build is too short, and so I extend it on the side without interfering the mixer connection behind it. The middle part linking to the base of the mixer is interesting. For the back part, I use another method to build a non-one-piece deflector or guide or what's-its-name thing :) Turns out it still works! Anyone has done a mod on the cement mixer yet? :) Thanks for watching!
  19. Oh god, this is a huge creation! I love all the details like the little basement for the rat and the train interior! Just awesome and I am speechless! Now you inspire me to work on my own train!
  20. I love this twist, a combo of City set and Superhero set! It is really nicely mixed, and I love the details in your setup too! Keep it up!
  21. Thanks you guys :D I guess Droplr isn't too good for resizing and so you will need to open the link and then click onto the image to see all the annotations ;)
  22. Thanks. Did you click onto the full image link?
  23. That's great :D ;) Some people asked me about the rear part (blue part above the rear wheels). While you cannot get it from the jeep, you can find that from other sets, while a black one should be easier to find. If you insist on the blue ones, the cheapest way I think is to get from the this polybag http://www.fbtb.net/...lorian-fighter/ if not from 30250 as suggested above. I am sure you may find other means :) just my 2 cents~ Happy MOD!
  24. It is Chinese New Year here and so I have a little holiday. With the free time I finally have the chance to clean up my Lego shelves and the superhero sets. After that, I think maybe it is a good time to take a record photo for them :) It is just my humble share, and I believe some of you may probably have a bigger setup! Have you guys read the comics from Marvel and DC? How many of them do you recognize in these photos? Full image: http://d.pr/i/Xdin Full image: http://d.pr/i/zsbW Full image: http://d.pr/i/i0HQ Actually I think the villains in Marvel sets are overlooked. Dr. Doom is a huge villain who is just impossible to die, and so is the upcoming Mandarin. Therefore, I am MOC-ing something for the armored Dr. Doom, a Viper or something, after completing a Freeze Boat for Mr. Freeze. How about your setup? Let's share it!
