  1. After my initial horror, the Y wing is growing on me. Just a shame 'gold leader' is Zev...
  2. Think i'll need to view a few comparisons between the new Y wing and the studio model - because my first thoughts were 'argh my eyes!' Looks dreadful - like the very first Y wing. Add in Zev again and I think I can get by with my old 2006 Y wing
  3. Lego is a rather inconsistent company The ARC gets printed legs but the ARF doesn't?! Desert Stormies get all manner of printings but Endor one's don't?! C'mon Lego - printed Stormies available in a cheap battle pack would solve all our army building needs! In general imagine I'll get every set - best Jan wave in years...but, summer will need some bigger hitters or it won't be a vintage year
  4. Astonishing achievement in Lego
  5. Never been able to register the VIP thing - I select the option on the checkout cart, fill in details and...nothing. When you've bought the death star, imperial shuttle and entire summer wave and it's not worked each time - that's annoying. How the hell do you do it?
  6. Think this is the first wave in a while where the sets have been more high profile vs the minifigs Looks like the new x wing and TIE are significant improvements. The Genosian set is embarrassingly bad - so that's certainly a case for the opposite... Jan wave is always the more 'basic' but it's better than last years, surely?
  7. So a set that costs more than the figures from bricklink is somehow a cost effective way of getting them? Lego could have included exclusive minifigs but instead goes with a veritable 4th tier of figures...
  8. Indeed - pretty basic. Should bring down the price on bricklink of those lovely TIE pilots So far pretty much every rumoured set has been proved - okay, not the Y Wing. Yet.
  9. Oh it's just 'terrible', how dare Lego ratchet up the quality like this! Oh for the days when a Luke mini fig could have been any character for all you could tell and less than 30 seconds was spent on the design! In the last 3 years minifigs have gone from an after thought to source of pride for Lego. I can't get a set without being dazzled by the quality and variation - finally every character we could ask for is getting made.
  10. Look at those figs! Awesome! But why do some stormtroopers have printed legs and others don't?! Don't recognise that ARC?
  11. Most definitely Lego is leaking these images. Perhaps they just want to keep the buzz of new products in the air but without the cost of advertising. Some guy only needs to scan in a preliminary design and a million lego fans will pass those images around for free for 6 months. By keeping everything 'preliminary' they can be flexible and avoid disappointments
  12. Just built it. Wow. Impossibly huge - flat underside, who cares! It's amazing to behold One point to the reviewer - virtually no 'extra' bricks with this set (far less than usual). With all those pieces left behind in your picture you have missed numerous stages, round 1x1 bricks are all I have left and believe me I checked every stage!!
  13. 5000 bricks in 3.5 hours (210 mins) equals 23.8 bricks used per min, or 1 every 3 seconds. Think we're daft? Please remember some of the users of this site meet the 18 and above rule! This set will take anywhere between 6-12 hours, so much the better
  14. The Boba issue is surely an irrelevance - he's £10 on bricklink and u bought this for £350 - talk about a minor issue!! Got Boba anyway - a second would hardly have made my day. Think the set is glorious - but the flat bottom, argh, why Lego?! Gang, how do we mod this? I need your expertise!
  15. Love it, great pics
  16. What boring sets. Surely everyone has atleast one x wing, not a single 'new' set, we've even had a genosian cannon before The mixed battle packs don't bother me too much as I usually buy multiples anyway, commando droids have been on my wish list for a while now
  17. Really superb set - I think one of the all time great star wars sets The detailing is just fantastic, Lego has still got it
  18. Didn't take long for the lunatic fringe to start making up 'rumours'. Who's this Capt Kirk guy? Playing the 'I know something but can't tell you' nonsense - the classic Internet nerd desperate for attention. If you can't say - then don't say, don't plague us with your attention seeking. Oh by the way I work for Lego and next years big set will be 'something touched by the force' but I can't say more because.... I'm just hoping Lego goes for a few more unusual sets - stuff we haven't seen before. The outrider would be very popular.
  19. So in short - avoid the precious few good parts of that film? How about a 'naboo forbidden kiss' play set to go with your other attempts to ruin TLG...it's Star WARS remember For gods sake Lego give us a droid control ship, could throw in scores of battle droids to liven things up and call it either a PM or AOTC set
  20. Woolies are great - next day delivery + can specify the time. 10% off and even got the minifig poster. I didn't even realise they were still going as a retailer!
  21. Ouch, cockpit shape seems a bit off, loses the circular nature of the real thing
  22. That TIE looks awesome. Will be good to get a proper death star trooper. All we need added is a death star gunner...
  23. Argh! My eyes! I suggest checking out Lego's excellent 2008 version
