REVIEW: 71002 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11
Emma replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review WhiteFang! Really appreciate the work you put into these things . My favorites are the Scarecrow, Bavarian lady, and the Yeti (sooo cute!); I also really like the Elf, Grandma and Jazz musician for their accessories. Can't wait to get my hands on some of these.- 117 replies

WooHoo! - a tag - Thanks Brickthing! Oh, and congratulations to the winners as well . I like the randomness of raffles, you never really know whose going to win - but I also appreciate how you acknowledged some of the more complex/creative builds with bonus points (and a tag) - Fun Stuff!

1 point - Bonnie Crusher 1 point - Cade Marler 1 point - Hector Steelson XL I love the colour combinations in these, how well the brain slugs are incorporated, and the overall builds are really well done. Great work, and good luck! -
vote Hero or Monster Voting - Before and After

1 point - Marcus Fisher 1 point - Koboldon 1 point - Gambrodon Marcus Fisher - gorgeous colours and photography (oh and good build too!) Koboldon - best B/A effect - the 'After' is a great modification of the 'Before', they are recognizably similar, with some great mutation effects on the infected one. Gambrodon - the 'Before' is super cute, and the brick built brain slug on the mutated version is fantastic. I also really liked the Gorroz Spider - really good concept and well executed - I only wish there were a few blue highlights in the mutated version. Good luck everyone! -

1 point - Helen Kernel XL 1 point - Flora Strike XL 1 point - Quazara Angelata I like these three all for the same reason - I find the overall shape of the hero and the choice of colours work very well for each. Best of luck everyone! -
Is there still time to submit something? Is it midnight anywhere in the world or is it based on NZ time? If this qualifies, here is my ChiBow, if not, just disregard (There was going to be a character to go with it, but he's currently only a head and torso) (And I have to say to CIDDi - that G'Loona is beautiful - wow!)

Thanks guys for the feedback/comments - a lot of which was running through my mind as I was photographing the 'After' part of the build - it doesn't look much like the 'Before' version / looking too Bionicle-y / and it's barely poseable - Looking back now, it would have been better to try to make more of a mutated bird, as opposed to just jumping in and making an almost whole new creature. I'm much more comfortable building anything with bricks as opposed to Bionicle/HF parts - and for the most part I'm lurking over at the Historic Themes forum, but I can't seem to resist trying out for most of the contests here on EB and one this proved to be a fun challenge Thanks for this , this is probably the part that took the most time - just trying to figure out how to attach something and make it at least give the impression of a brain slug - I'm glad it wasn't a total flop!

Here's my entry for the B/A contest. Topic here

- Here's my contribution to Hero Factory Month - Small flocks of Gallus gallus dom. populate the desert flatland regions of the planet Fabulox 18. The evil brains have turned the skittish birds into the deadly Gallux, and raised up a formidable army of deadly opponents. Watch out Heroes! Here's a few more pictures: Lego Action Figures Flickr set I have to admit that I've never ventured into the Action Figures forum before this month and never looked twice at the HF stuff . And this is why themed months are so great - I never realized what great MOCs could be made out of all those clicky/ball-joint/etc. parts. I've been enjoying browsing around the last couple of weeks, and couldn't help but try and build something - so I dusted off what little Bionicle parts I had, and spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out how to build something with them - despite keeping it really simple, it was a huge challenge for me - kudos to you guys who do this regularly. Anyways, this being my first Action Figure Moc - comments/criticism are hugely appreciated - hold nothing back, I can take it.

2) Fortune Teller Entry (Build by sgeureka) - 1 point 26) Hollywood Starlet Entry (Build by vecchiasignoraceppo) - 1 point 35) Mermaid Entry (Build by Cecilie) - 1 point -> sgeureka's - I'm amazed at how much detail is crammed into such a small space, and it all fits together nicely. -> vecchiasignoraceppo's - squeeky clean build, and a very effective design. -> Cecilie's - this is my favorite out of the whole contest - Sebastian, the plants, the fish, the underwater effect from the clear plates - it's got me humming "Under the Sea" (I'd sing, but I'm at work...) Well done everyone and best of luck! -

1) Cowgirl Entry (Build by Yatkuu) - 1 point 14) Conquistador Entry (Build by vecchiasignoraceppo)- 1 point 27) Fairy Entry (Build by Cecilie) - 1 point -> Yatkuu's really spoke to my inner cowgirl -> vecchiasignoraceppo's enty is just beautifully done - so nice and cleanly built, and great colours. -> I really like the brick built mushroom in Cecilie's, and all those flowers are really lovely -> I also really liked Darkblane's (#24) - awesome build, but I decided to give my votes to the one's that reflected the CMF characters a bit more. And Plissken's (#3) was well done, and funny. Well done everyone and best of luck! -

Down the rabbit hole Minifig: Bunny Suit Guy Theme: Fantasy Here is a picture with the minifig - it's slightly different because I didn't realize that I had used 2 parts that weren't allowed and was limited in my time to retake the pictures...anyways this little vignette is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. -

I really had no intention of getting this because I knew it would be fairly expensive, but it looks awesome, and really fun to build, and Grima, and nice interior details, and the price per piece really isn't bad ...and it's time to see if I can work it into my budget... Also, the palantir looks to be different than the one that comes in the smaller set?

When you wish upon a star Minifig: Fairy Theme: Fantasy Here we have Geppetto's workshop where the Fairy is about to bring Pinocchio to life (and those are supposed to be stars out the window - not too sure how well that translated lol). Here is a picture with the Fairy. Thanks for looking, and best of luck to everyone! -

Ursela's Cave Minifig: Mermaid Theme: Fantasy I've tried to recreate the scene from The Little Mermaid (Disney) where Ursela is taking Ariel's voice. Here is a picture with the Mermaid figure. Thanks for looking! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Emma replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was aimlessly wandering around Walmart (Kingston, Ontario) while waiting for someone, and low and behold there was a box of Series 10 minifigures - every packet looked to have been well felt, but I was still able to find the figs that I wanted relatively easily (just mistook a helmet for a the bald hair piece, so I ended up with a skydiver instead of the grandpa...) No Mr. Gold to be found, and someone is going to end up with a bunch of mechanics...- 1,076 replies
