  1. Yeah I was really excited about this set but the more detailed pics starting to make me concerned and now I think I will pass on this. The wargs are the best part and you can already get them on bricklink 10 bucks a pop. I wish Thorin had a fur lined cape or something and the lack of Orcrist just makes him look less distinguished from the other dwarves.
  2. Finally found 30 polybags all in a box on the shelf, no rack for display lol. I only got 8 of them because I want to wait and see when my local TRU will have them, it is in stock but they have to wait for Lego rep to set up display. And I did get the BOGO too, so it was $32 total. Sure beats Ebay with shipping costs, like 38 dollars for 5 or 88 bucks for ten.
  3. I just bought 8 Mirkwood Elf polybags, they had like 30 in Lakeland. My local store in Brandon is waiting for the Lego rep to display them later so I will check back later today and pick up some more. I also ordered Shelob from bricklink, didn't want to pay for the whole set, it was 6.99. Also I may get Uruk-Hai and Mirkwood Spiders later to take advantage of the sale. I really want Barrel Escape but I may need to get that off the site and they don't honor the sale online.
  4. The Galadhrim armored ones would be two royal guards and the set would include 2 Lothlorien grey garbed archers and of course Galadriel. Poor Doriath born Celeborn would probably be absent in order to include Frodo and the mirror.
  5. Well Elrond is wearing a new red version of Noldorin armor in the Hobbit. Also there are some mounted Elf lords in Ricendell according to the movie. Maybe we will see some iteration in Lego form.
  6. Yeah I was in a very long Lego dark age. Before collecting Weathertop and Mines of Moria the last time I had Legos was when I was twelve. I always loved them as a kid and even created my own makeshift drawbridge at eight because my mom wouldn't get me a larger proper castle set. The drawbridge was made using a ship wheel and some yarn. I ran the yarn through some 1x1 pieces that have the hollow attachment. The last sets I collected were SW phantom menace back in 99.
  7. Yeah I was at TRU earlier before I learned they had 30212 on the truck and according to the markups you could save money IF you purchase similar priced sets. I was thinking about getting Mirkwood spiders and Uruk-Hai army which would be 32.99 (24.99 should be price) and 34.99 so this would cost 16.50 + 34.99 = 51.49 whereas normally at unmarked prices = 54.98 Likewise if you could get Barrel Escape 44.99 + Wargs it would be 59.99 + 22.50 = 82.49 whereas normally unmarked would be 89.98 As you can see the deal works if you can get lego sets which are as close in price to one another as possible. Does the online TRU site honor the buy one get 50% deal?
  8. New details are emerging!! So my I called a bunch of stores in my area and I realized that I could provide the UPC code on my ebay bought polybag for employees to check inventory. A store in Lakeland, FL helped me and she was very polite and professional, a great contrast to my local TRU staff. They have 30212 at the Lakeland store and when I mentioned how difficult my local store is she said they had them too. I called my store and they have them too but unfortunately they aren't on the floor yet. So I have to call back tomorrow to make sure they have them out on the sales floor. I barely mentioned getting them from receiving but overheard an older grumpy lady complaining so I didn't press the issue. Lakeland is like 30 min away so I hope waiting until tomorrow for my local store will payoff especially with the buy one lego and get 50% off. Hopefully this bodes well for everyone if their stores are beginning to stock up again.
  9. Well I think they got them in Sacramento because one of the guys on Ebay I bought from was selling from there and he has more than 10 available for purchase on Ebay. I really don't understand how some areas get them and some don't. That gives me the idea to try calling out of the tricounty area, maybe some areas do get more stock or item promotions than others.....hmm.
  10. 16 isn't bad! I got Haldir for 16 on ebay and an Elrond for 18 plus shipping. So I have 9 Elronds total and just need some more Haldir minifgs to make a Galadhrim unit and then some Mirkwood Elf guards to have a sentry patrol. Only one employee gave me one extra, she was nice when I asked but yeah I don't think they will sell them outright. If you ask them what they do with extras they say it is for customers purchasing copies of the game until they run out.
  11. No Gandalfs or Mirkwood Elf polybags, they have the sets all except Barrel Escape. Also there are some city and monster hunters polybags and a section for ninjago and hero factory. That is it.
  12. Agreed. Sauron was maybe 10ft tall compared to the 6ft-7ft Elves and Numenoreans, in the movie he wasn't that big as depicted in the opening level of LOTR Lego. Definitely no where as big as Treebeard for certain.
  13. Yeah I think the 5 pack of either sand blue or royal blue capes was around 5 bucks. So a dollar a cape isn't too expensive. I plan on getting a few myself so I can give proper Lothlorien cloaks to the Fellowship among other uses. Also they had the fuller cape that looks pretty cool on someone like Elrond or even a Lothlorien Elf. I will have to sift through my watch list on Ebay and find the store. The games are only 30 bucks so each Elrond sells for at least 20 bucks. If you are getting the game that way it could work as long as you can sell each copy for at lest 15 dollars to break even or at least it feels like you are paying around 10 bucks for an Elrond. However the link I posted had them for preorder for 11.99, if you can wait until January you could avoid paying 2x to 3x more for each minifg.
  14. I just wanted to prove to TRU employees the polybag existed and was hoping it would seem familiar or something. Actually that happened when I had so much trouble acquiring a Mirkwood Elf. I had bad luck before I even got my legit Elrond. Every day I ran up empty I got something else to help including a couple Forbidden Forest sets to make up a Mirkwood diorama. I also went on a bricklink spending spree for elvish looking arches and bricks and some windows, doors and gates in preparation for my Mirkwood Sentry Wall. Also made my first brickforge order so I am excited even if I'm not buying any official Hobbit sets yet.
  15. So my TRU is officially the worst in the nation. I called yesterday and the lady was so annoyed by my persistence she insisted I call back when the movies are released. And she had an attitude like I had been inquiring excessively and bothering everybody. That affected me so I called another location this morning and they said they had the sets but no promo polybags. I finally went by my local TRU, didn't want to call considering how I was being treated and by chance there was a LEGO rep in the aisle. I showed her my empty polybag which I got from ebay and asked about the Mirkwood Elf. She said they haven't had any for a month and it was temporary promo only. I forgot to ask about Gandalf but I was shocked. For almost two weeks I went by or contacted TRU for the Mirkwood Elf and not one employee could recall them having it or even somebody saying they sold out. Which is odd because people have been reporting more polybags including Gandalf. The Frodo and Uruk-Hai ones are still around so why is the Mirkwood Elf Guard such a temporary product? I work in retail myself and the experience with TRU is downright disgraceful. Either the employees are grossly misinformed or apathetic or worse they are dismissive and borderline hostile. Fortunately I noticed that lego.com has the Barrel Escape and it's only 39.99. Now TRU wont see even a penny from me and they can keep their marked up products.
  16. The playable Arwen, Galadriel and Eowyn all had legs as opposed to painted brick pieces in the LOTR Lego game. Maybe none of the LOTR or Hobbit line will have female characters with rigid rock dresses.
  17. Try Ebay or Bricklink, I think I saw a Cape multipack of 5 in different colors like Dark Green, Royal Blue, Brown, Grey, etc. I find it odd that someone earlier in the thread said they received long capes from LEGO but the majority get no response or even the same short cape sent again.
  18. I may be warming up to Rivendell but I wonder why in the game they have I think two pieces which are almost identical. Is Lego planning on releasing only one little piece or will the set have another part like in the game but maybe a different addition. Grond sounds like a good idea with Gothmog and some Mordor orcs and maybe some Gondor soldiers. Corsair ship would be fine if it included Aragorn with Anduril and the King of the Dead with some Dead warriors. I would find the Frodo and Ringwraith set decent if it included Arwen with Asfaloth or if it went the route of a Nazgul on Fell Beast with ruins of Osgiliath. Like this: http://media.photobu...stOsgiliath.jpg But then we wouldn't get the more obvious set of the Witchking with Eowyn and Merry. Unless that would be left for another wave.
  19. TRU employee incompetence aside, the Gandalf polybag is highly undesirable IMO. Nothing new, rehash pieces, no proper Glamdring or staff, not even a unique piece to represent Dol Guldur. So I say let the scalpers keep all the Gandalfs and leave me my Elves! Speaking of Dol Guldur, maybe we will get a lego set of the Necromancer's hidden abode for the next wave during the summer or something.
  20. Came back from my local TRU just now and they still do not have the polybags or any Hobbit sets! I used my normal routine asking any employee I can find to cross reference but they said the same thing as yesterday. New truck needs to be unloaded and checked into inventory. They said check in at 9am the truck will be finished. They carry the lego polybags only behind the register so yesterday the guy checked all the registers and nothing. Today same thing. My TRU is sooo slow but apparently the entire Tampa Bay area is slow to get items because no Wal-mart, Kmart or even Target have any Hobbit legos. I even told the Manager of TRU I was afraid of scalpers taking all the polybags but apparently I have been the only one to ask yet and I've been persistent lol.
  21. Just beat the game and the bonus level was a mixture of expectation and disappointment. Rivendell was a complete failure in comparison and some like Lothlorien has potential. I just hope if Rivendell gets released it will be a 200-300 dollar exclusive like the Star Wars masterpiece collector sets. In the meanwhile a small section would be nice like the pavilion with council chamber, the stairs with Narsil in library, the Archway entrance over the valley, or a watchtower where in the Hobbit they have a guard stationed like this: http://images.wikia.com/lotr/images/3/30/Bilbo_in_Rivendell_-_The_Hobbit.PNG The guard is in upper right corner
  22. Yeah that happens, I went to Toys R Us and they even had LOTR sets like Mines of Moria and Weathertop listed as Hobbit on the labels on the shelf but no actual Hobbit sets. The prices were well marked up like 99.99 for Mines of Moria when I paid like 60 about three months ago at Walmart online. Anyway I asked about Mirkwood Elf Guard polybag and Hobbit sets. They were confused and finally admitted no Hobbit sets. One employee said they had some stuff in the back but then the manager wouldn't check the back and they dont scan inventory until they unload the truck. I will try again after work tomorrow. I just hope the EBay scalpers dont swipe all the Polybags when they do arrive at the store.
  23. Wow even if they wont be released as sets I would like to see the brickbuilt versions for inspiration. I am on the level with the Pelennor Fields taking down the Mumakils. I will definitely have to try out this level once I finish the main story. After googling I found one very bad quality video on youtube but if someone could take some pics of these structures found in the bonus level 2 I would appreciate it highly.
  24. Not sure if this is proof of the Elrond minifig being sold in polybags but toywiz.com has them on sale as pre-orders at $11.99 US dollars. They wont be shipped until January but at least there's a chance they will have the long cape. http://www.toywiz.com/legoelrond.html?gclid=CLLd4eWy5LMCFRQcnAodYhwAyg
  25. You know who were in the Hobbit book? Unnamed Mirkwood Elves and unnamed Elvenking. Does this mean we cannot include Thranduil or his only son Legolas? Is it so incredulous to believe that the Crown prince of Mirkwood would be present in his homeland almost sixty years before he left for the Council of Elrond?
