  1. Any links to your palace? I appreciate Persian architecture, especially Sassinid and Parthian period styles. Prince of Persia was a nice Lego theme but more an amalgam of Persian, Indian and Abbasid caliphate. Most of arabesque architecture is Persian in origin and much of the culture and science attributed to Arabs were the result of Persians like Avicenna and Jaber ibn Hayan. I also like Achaemenid and it's similarities to Greek weapons and architecture. The akenakes is very much like the xiphon. So much rich history and a crossroads between worlds akin to Egypt and Rome in influence and diversity.
  2. Okay so its the German Shepard mold. What color is it in that set? Also my questions in LOTR thread got overwhelmed by Orthanc. Could you please answer them if you can?
  3. Well thanks for the confirmation. We all had a feeling it was true based on the factors discussed pages back. I still hope Elrond gets a circlet because then Lego could change it blonde and give it to Galadriel. The female version works okay too if Arwen gets a wavier and hair in front of the ears. Not ideal but passable. I just loved Elrond's hair mold in the video game, it was perfect! Thranduil better get a new hair mold because DOS won't have many new hair molds considering all the dwarves are taken care of in wave 1. Also how can Lego make a Thranduil, (if they make one) minifig without his iconic crown?
  4. Wait is the dog a new mold or a rehash of an existing mold?
  5. I thought that was an orc forge as well. As exciting as extra machinery for Orthanc would be, it would just increase the price point. Can anyone guess any other sets from the pics? What's between the prelim Orc forge and Lothlorien? Also what could be the sets below bag end? The one looks mines of Moria but what's beneath that? If Elrond get's no circlet I will MOC one using Arwen's hair. :/
  6. Oh ok I wasn't sure about the pillars being apart of the set or the background art. Good to know it actually has some brikbuilt pieces. I will be so upset with Lego if Elrond has rehashed hair. He needs a circlet above all elves in Middle earth being descended from two royal elven houses: Dior of Sindarin and Turgon of Noldor.
  7. Hey October some questions if you don't mind. In Council of Elond is Arwen holding anything? Does she and Elrond have new hair molds? Can you see any details on the small building that is behind the council platform? How many chairs come with the set? Also can you see any more detail on Wizard battle? Is the Palantir an LED brick? Does it come with some pillars or is that just the background? Thanks!
  8. Thanks October! Great descriptions and now I know what I'm looking at. I will need to ask about LOTR next. ;)
  9. So no horse pulling the cart in Forest Ambush? Any extra details you can see of the 2 good and 2 bad minifig? Are they soldiers, knights, civilians and/or bandits? What are they carrying?
  10. No, I didn't see any. Did you see some and are pointing it out or are you asking if someone saw extra photos?
  11. Can you give a more detailed description of the Forest Ambush set?
  12. Elrond and Arwen need new hair molds, both are hanging in front of their shoulders but Elrond's has a crown. Hopefully the molds will be the exact same as in the video game.
  13. Thanks Magma for the isolated image of Lothlorien and the Balrog. When I saw it in the full image I thought the Balrog was facing to the side but I see it now. As pixelated as the tower looks it still had visible bricks and resembled its video game incarnation. Maybe it was a custom MOC photoshopped to look official. If this was the case why would Lego demand the pic removed from Flickr?
  14. I see Orthanc, Bag end, helms deep, I think Mirkwood spiders but where are the ones you mentioned. I see two possible shapes which could be the Balrog. Either right above Woody, the Balrog is facing head on. Or it is facing to the side on a shelf to the lower left I don't really see anything like Lothlorien. There's a golden color shape above the shelf which could be above the Balrog (2 shelves above Woody). Hard to tell really.
  15. But you cannot see the entire model in the developers room, only the tip of the tower.
  16. Shadowfax exists in Lone ranger line unfortunately. Where does everybody see he Balrog or Lothlorien or is everyone being facetious? Also what tower bridge is being referred to by some?
  17. Very good news, it means LOTR gets collector series which opens the door to Minas Tirith, Rivendell, Edoras, Minas Morgul, Barad-dur and many more. Perhaps we will start seeing one collectors series every wave. I like the idea of using the Wizard Battle to add interior to Orthanc. Usually collector series come with at least 5 minifigs so that should be great. Like others said Treebeard should be a separate set. I wonder if Council of Elrond will be able to fit in a collectors Rivendell some day? What about the hobbit line will they see a collectors set or is it too soon for that line?
  18. Getting there rpmac91! The clear round bricks look good as lanterns. I have some ideas for more elven structures. Vehicle mudguards look good to add some depth and elvish lines to the facade of a building or a window. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=1&itemID=51818 Or these with flared wings: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=2&itemID=8783
  19. How does this look for a Moria Orc helmet? It is from space patrol but it may work, it has a similar silhouette as the Moria helms. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=180856012453&index=16&nav=SEARCH&nid=30601729285 Or maybe Vladek's helmet works better?
  20. Frodo and Ringwraith could be a polybag set. Sounds small enough and we know it's a rumored set. We get Frodo again like tradition but now a Nazgul to complete the nine. So this could be a good and bad polybag in one.
  21. Don't forget the lanterns and it will be perfect. How many pieces are needed? I think you have too many pillars, the flets shouldn't resemble a birdcage. The pillars on the stairs are good but need some arches like in the film. Try to incorporate the technique used by deskp, hanging pillars and more open. For reference: http://jmibullfrog.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/lothlorien1.jpg http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/9500000/Lothl-rien-lothlorien-9548731-1143-518.jpg http://www.blackbirdmedia.org/miniatures/images/terrain/lothlorien/1_full.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~cindysnow69/Lorien_1_by_SnowLass63.jpg
  22. Looks much better and more accurate. Great job and I hope you or somebody else makes a MOC out of this concept rendering.
  23. Maybe we will get more polybags this wave to make up for lack of individual sets.
  24. Whoa I will have to check Walmarts around my area. If Mines is selling for $54, how much would Helms deep be priced at? Any hobbit sets on clearance or just LOTR?
  25. Anyone can make a trademark logo. I highly doubt it is official because like you said there is a brickforge sword. We all know Lego would never use custom pieces like that even for a prelim. I checked the link for the set on Lego wikia and there is no veritable source. Maybe we will get a Witchking set but right now we have nothing but an unsubstantial rumor.
