One by one, her party charges forward. Purpearl turns to Cinna, "I will return the Opal to you after we defeat those abominations." Purpearl casts Scroll of Weakening at Harpy F from the back row. "Buzz off!" -

Purpearl hands the Opal back to Cinna. Looking on at the Heroes clad in full body armour and positioning themselves in tight battle formations, and fending off endless swarms of Harpies, Purpearl almost gagged as she takes a closer look at those Harpies, "Never thought I could see those Harpies so up close in real life. Hideous." Turning to the knight with the flagpole, the dinosaur, the lady clad in thick armour, the glowing elf and the female elf, "Hope my friends and I can be of some help!" -

The inexperienced mage starts to feel the chill as the after effects of the ice spell begins to set into her bones. Feeling exhausted at the same time, her hands start to become numb. She rubs her hands and tries to blow warm air into her palms to warm them up. Deep down, she wishes she could curl up under the warmth of the blankets, just to warm up for a few minutes. Purpearl downs a Tonic and also has High Heels equipped. "Wait up!" and she follows the rest of the party across the ice bridge. -

"But we are not sure how long this ice bridge will last out in the open, or will the Harpies' poop destroy it, making it difficult for us to retrieve our wagon after the battle. Leaving the wagon on the other side of the river unattended will also leave us open to possible raids from Nords and attacks from patrols." -

Purpearl's ice spell dissipated into nothingness midway through the air. "Bummer." Turning towards Cinna, "Can I borrow your Opal to widen that ice bridge?" -

OOC: I am not sure what I am going to do will work as Purpearl does not have an Opal. "Let's do this!" Purpearl does a double sidestep and positions herself beside Cinna. She lands her hand on top of the Opal Cinna is holding and aims her wand in the direction of Cinna's ice spell. Purpearl begins to shiver and her teeth begins to chatter as she channels the energy from the Opal to her wand. Tiny ice crystals start to form at the tip of the wand as Purpearl casts an ice spell at the existing ice bridge to try and widen it. -

Purpearl turns to Matthias, "We need to cross the river in the shortest time possible. We will know in due time if the ice bridge will work. If not we will have to think of other ways. I am not so sure myself as I do not have the gem necessary to freeze the water. More experienced mages might have one. Those harpies will not come to us so we will have to go to them." -

Purpearl turns towards Cinna and Boris "I don't think everyone here is a strong swimmer or wants to get themselves or their belongings wet. I do think we can try freezing the water with an opal so we can cross the river." -

Purpearl dismounts the wagon and walks towards the river bank. Bowing down, Purpearl assesses the river's current as well as the depth of the river. "Maybe we can freeze the water...?" -

Purpearl smiles and nods in agreement as Nelvyn recollects his past, "Indeed Nelvyn. Even though Elves like us live a long life, death is still ultimately unavoidable. Besides, one can still raise the dead with concoctions and magical powers. What matters is what kind of legacy you decide to leave behind that people will remember you by. Life's unpredictable. You were once a famous acrobat and everyone remembers you as the greatest, but everything changed overnight when you fell off that tight rope, everything washed away by the hurricane. Everything changed again when those necromancers raised you, after 300 years, in a different form and how unexpected it is. The vessel you are presently in is no longer the vessel that people used to remember you by. Take this as an opportunity to accomplish something you never would have done 300 years ago. Maybe what's left is to find that broken fence to patch. Maybe what you needed is family, someplace where you belong, someplace where you could call home." -

"Always making me blush... hmm?" "Yes. I can imagine a whole clan full of grumpy green heads like him. Disastrous. I really wonder what they find enjoyment in; killing, grunting or who's the sulkiest of them all. I really wonder. Never quite seen them in my life. Look at those Fire Nords, they care for treasures and spoils of war that are temporary, but deep down, their souls are empty. They raid to quench their soul's thirst for satisfaction, but their souls yearn for something other than treasures, something more permanent. Food, drinks and treasures don't last forever. Food and drinks serve as sustenance, they ultimately return to nature where they come from. Treasures are worthy only to the eyes of the beholder. Raiding would not help them sustain a civilisation. What they need is probably love, which is permanent and transcends time, which they lack. Their concept of "love", is selfish and brutal pleasure, which is self consuming and destroys oneself. Love is something that is selfless and giving and it builds on one another. It is something that progresses a civilisation, a race and improves an individual as a person. Having lived through close to two hundred years, those reckless ways of the Fire Nords will not persist through time. Either they finally settle into a civilisation or as a civilisation or wiped out by more advanced magic, weapons, or crumble within themselves. Same goes for those green heads, I wonder if they ever smile, or enjoy what nature has blessed them with." "How about you, my fellow elf? You speak of making the best of situations. Care to share with me what you used to enjoy and what made you transform into this form you are in now? Are you what they call an undead? Even that, you are still an elf, deep down, no matter what form. By the way, whatever you see that I am, is not what it seems to be. I may look like an elf, carry an elven name, but I am raised by the hands of humans and know nothing of the ways of an elf. The little knowledge of my biological parents and where they came from, written in a piece of rotten paper, isn't enough to make me a true elf, if you get what I mean." -

"We infiltrated the Nord base easily, that means no one have tried to save you before or they would be extra vigilant. So it would be pretty reasonable to say your Orc friends didn't bother to save you themselves. Maybe you are not important?" "Think about it Orc. Why do you think we risk our lives to save you from those Nords? We ain't charity nor are we your kind. Of course we are hired to do the job. There are reasons why we cannot tell you who we work for. Obviously someone knows you are still alive and wanted us to save you. You wanted to go back to your home land, and it is also part of our job to do so. If by any chance the Fire Nords catch up to you, you ain't goin' to live, I can guarantee that. Your hands are stained with Fire Nord blood and you almost died back there. We do what's best for you and it's ideal if you come with us." -

"That logic is incorrect, Orc. You were a Fire Nord prisoner and surely must have meant something to them. We were circus-peasants that they tried to raid and kill. So it is more likely they would be after you instead of us. Come with us, we broke you out, we fought off those Nords, we have done enough to prove that we are worthy. We can offer you protection and escort you to your home land." "Five versus one, check your maths and get them right, my Orc friend. It's a lose win situation. Lose for you, win for us. Let's make it a win win situation shall we? Come with us, we protect you and nobody gets hurt." -

"Whereabouts are you heading, Orc friend? "Perhaps we should stay together. Wherever you are heading, we can help you to fend off undesirables, especially those Fire Nords who captured you. If they managed to imprison you once, I am sure they can do it again." "What say you, Orc friend? Safety in numbers?" -

"When we are a safe distance from those Nords, and after we get our Orc friend back, we could use some of our spare time while travelling. We have a lot in common, we are elves, yet we are not..." Realising Grishnod is no longer with the party and in sight. "It would be hard to find him once he's in the woods," an idea strikes Purpearl and she pauses for a moment, looking at Nelvin. "You're an assassin, help track Grishnod down for us." "It has something to do with King Valentino..." -

Purpearl receives the gold and Ambrosia from Cinna. "Many thanks Cinna, unfortunately, mages like me do not have the strength to wield a majestic weapon such as this," pointing to Naginata. (Halberd: Suitable for barbarians, knights, dragoons and skirmishers) Purpearl turns to Boris while checking out the surroundings for any Nords still alive in the outpost, "If time is more important on your side or if we can expect more Nord reinforcements any time soon, we shall make a move. The warehouse still holds supplies and weapons. I can make a quick dash to the warehouse and we can distribute the supplies when we're on our way." -
