Heroica RPG - Quest #90: A Trip to the Circus
Purpearljellyblob replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Purpearl taps lightly on Matthias' shoulder and whispers into his ear so that no one else can hear, "Just ignore Grishnod, we know you got it right as well." "Matthias, I suggest you take on Spore Cluster up close (front row) since most of us will most likely pick our targets from the back row. I think we should try to avoid Spore Cluster's Pandemonium Puff as much as possible. The bigger mushrooms can doom us if we're not careful and I think we're also tight on remedies." "Grishnod, please take Myconid Rot Mystic A with your Iron Sword from the back row." Purpearl pulls out Crimson Arcanon and casts a Fire spell at Myconid Guard A from the back row. -

Seeing the scouts leave, Purpearl tries to remember everything that had been said and turns towards her party and Grishnod, "Just putting this out there, for everyone's consideration. Not foolproof but that should kick things off." -
You're back! Chapters 37 and 38 looks great by the way. Can't wait for more!

Purpearl accepts the mead from Dreyrugr. "Thank you." "As a former leader and father of Bastala, you have every right to claim back what is rightfully yours, including the right to leadership. Bastala, the current leader of Clan Irlaz, also has the every right to defend her leadership. But we came here for Valentino, and I will be on the side that offers up Valentino in exchange for our services." Purpearl moves behind Grishnod, "I suppose as guests to your country, I cannot simply hasten myself in this situation. I do not know the ins and outs of this clan, and how this Trial of the Three Circles work. No offence to you and your daughter, but Bastala doesn't seem to look like one of your kind except for her pale green face. I know it's cold around here, doesn't make sense to don a hood and skirt and wearing next to nothing in the middle. As if she's hiding something. If you don't mind, tell us a bit more about your family, partner(s) and offsprings. Also, it would be best if you reveal Bastala's darkest secrets and wrongdoings. We need every bit of information you can provide for this to work in your favour." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #89: Reclaiming Glory

Purpearl turns to the Heroes, "Goodbye, have a safe trip." As the more familiar faces begin to leave, Purpearl feels more intimidated. She musters up some courage inside her and faces Bastala, and speaks, "I know the Matriarch of Clan Irlaz is wise and all knowing. You might run things differently from your father, but I am certain all that's happening around us is under your control. We all know the reason why the High Kingdoms attacked. What a great strategy to wait for things to go sour between the Clans and the High Kingdoms, and Bastala, the leader of Clan Irlaz rises above the occasion by releasing King Valentino to stop this bloodshed and bring peace once again to this land. Not only will you gain approval of your father as a competent leader, you will also be known throughout this land as the Matriarch of Peace. You are certainly a great strategist. I am full of admiration." -

"I apologise for any indiscretions we might have caused and please pardon our eagerness in our choice of words. We didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. Surely it is not in your interest to wage war and so do we. But from our viewpoint, there wouldn't be long lasting peace if King Valentino continues to be a guest on this side of the river. We wouldn't know for sure if King Valentino will retaliate once he's freed, but the Humans will surely retaliate sooner or later to save their King if he continues to be held captive. It is a delicate situation and the longer this situation persist, the harder it is to remedy it. Sometimes one has to take the leap of faith first, the trust part comes later." -

"Your highness is capable and intelligent. Nothing in this world is beyond your reach and desire. We prevented an attempt on your life just outside the palace, at the barricade. I suppose your highness value life more than anything. Perhaps if we could bring back your lost kin, in exchange for the old man." -

"I wouldn't have opened my mouth to ask for what I deserve if you hadn't asked for people to prove their worth in the loot." Purpearl shrugs. "I had a hand in finding the assassin that will possibly threaten all our missions here in Baltarock. I am in a similar situation as you are. Knocked out and left out in the cold is not a nice feeling and that I understand. And this is the second time this has happened, other newer heroes here have experienced that as well. But as party leader, you make the final call. If you decide to keep all the loot for yourself in the end, I will respect traditions and I will not say a word more. I just need your confirmation in that regard." -

Purpearl finds herself in a black realm of nothing, snippets of her life flashes before her eyes. She looks on intently and reflects on the ebb and flow of events that led to her current demise. She was a positive and easy going elven Mage since she joined Heroica, despite all the hardships she faced. Going on the trip to the High Kingdoms, Purpearl remained positive. She felt as if things will always turn out for the better. She remained active and pushed on, drawing on the energy from her successful first quest. But time and time again, things did not go as she hoped to be. She remained loyal nevertheless. There, after all that peserverance, the second time she tasted the bitterness of the soil her face planted into, Purpearl had a moment of truth as she wakes up. Looking on at the carnage, "Oh dreary me, what have I done? Misled and blinded by the riches of this world, I even killed a fellow elf. That's a cardinal sin and I would never forgive myself for it." She looks at Rusealote's remains and points at her belongings, "I would like to have Rusealote's Thorny Rose please. This will remind me not to harm another elf ever again." -

Seeing a couple of the orcs turned violent, Purpearl retreated to the back, hoping she wouldn't get hit. However, one of the rampaging orcs charged towards her. "Get back! You..." Before she knew it, the Orc had struck her down. Purpearl can only hope the magic of a Phoenix Essence would save her in time. And for the second time since she set foot on this land, Purpearl kissed the ground, once again. -

Purpearl realises how dangerous those violent rioters and the rogue mercenaries could be if they get too close to her. Retreating to the back, she utters some words of prayer in a soft tone. <Legovia...> Purpearl then casts a fire spell at Dead Root B from the back row. -

Purpearl approaches Olmstyr, "Can't say I am used to the freez-y weather here since this is my first time across the Crystalline sea, trying to move about to keep myself warm. Anyway, you said the assassin had no genuine interest in Clan Irlaz, the female elf I talked to had no specific personal intentions in helping the clan. She did however, express her desire to help other species in general. I doubt her intentions are genuine though. I haven't been around long enough or do I have the experience to assess if she might be the one you are looking for. I would probably wait for the others." -

"I commend your efforts here. Look at all the emotions around us! Not often do we see senior elves like yourself sharing similar thoughts and sentiments as other species. Surely it is not just Bastala's brutish tyranny you are concerned about. All these will be over for you in a few cycles. Why are you helping Clan Irlaz in their cause against Bastala? What is in it for you?" Purpearl speaks politely. -

Purpearl makes her way to the front of the crowd. Facing Rusealote and monitoring her facial expression and body language, the elven Mage asks politely, "Hello fellow elf! So you are saying you've got no plans at all? Then why are you here?"
