  2. Purpearl casts Scroll of Weakening at Bisma from the back row.
  3. Purpearl casts a lightning spell at Happy Major Tentacle from the back row. Battle Order: Matthias Baradock Purpearl
  4. "Baradock, Matthias, doing well on the big ones. Keep them busy, while I clean up the small ones." Purpearl casts a lightning spell at Bashful Minor Tentacle from the back row. Battle Order: Matthias Baradock Purpearl
  5. "Matthias, back row would be a better option, to avoid damage from those tentacles."
  6. "Each of us take on one Major Tentacle so we only soak up free hits from Minor Tentacles. Matthias, finish off Sleepy Major Tentacle. Baradock, Happy Major Tentacle is yours." Purpearl casts a lightning spell at Dopey Major Tentacle from the back row. Battle Order: Matthias Baradock Purpearl
  7. "Happy Major Tentacle looks... so happy." "Baradock, fall back and take your potion. Matthias, take Dopey Major Tentacle." Purpearl casts a lightning spell at Sleepy Major Tentacle from the back row. Battle Order Matthias Purpearl Baradock
  8. "Cursed fishing pole!" Purpearl casts a lightning spell at Happy Major Tentacle from the back row. Battle Order: Baradok Purpearl Matthias
  9. Purpearl downs several mouthfuls of green liquid from her bottle. "Such poisonous words." <Visions of turbidity, vessel of lunacy. Cauldron of darkness, boil forth and deny!> Purpearl casts a darkness spell at Mr. Ring the Ruffian from the back row.
  10. Purpearl slides the potion into her bag, and turns to the shark, "I shall leave you to it," and Purpearl rests on her bedroll. "Beginner's luck, I suppose." smiles Purpearl.
  11. "As you wish." The shark's fishing pole starts to jiggle, an occassional spark flying off and landing rapidly into the waters beneath. Everything turns eeriely still for a moment. The pole suddenly jolts, as Purpearl casts a lightning bolt through the centre of the fishing pole and travels into the ocean.
  12. "A shark like yourself should rule the seas with your predator instincts, not with a fishing pole. I guess you must be hungry. Why don't I hold your pole for free and we share the catch, hmm?"
  13. "Grim it is, for a seafarer and sailor. Have you reeled in anything so far?"
  14. Realism suddenly hits Purpearl as Bisma's words echoed through her mind. "Indeed, especially for those who can't swim."
  15. "That sheep can't possibly go anywhere far with us being out at sea, unless you are planning to make your night comfortable with sheep skin and roasted lamb for dinner?" Purpearl winks and continues, "I am surprised you could tell that this is my first time at sea, just from observation. A seasoned seafarer, are you not?" Purpearl turns and rests her eyes on the horizon. Her wandering hands sifted through fur that doesn't seem to resemble that of a sheep. Purpearl blushes when she realises it's Nagure's fur all along. "Forgive me, I mistook you for... hope you don't mind. You do look well travelled, however. Have you been to the High Kingdoms before?"
  16. Purpearl's eyes widen as the vessel set sail, her first voyage out at sea. She approaches the werelion, who seems to be wandering aimlessly. "Good day Sir, Purpearl Berthadhiell, Elven Mage."
  17. The presence of the werecrocodile caught Purpearl's attention and notices other similar werecreatures on the vessel. "Werecrocodiles, weresharks, werelions, werewolves. Werecreatures or not. Humans, gnomes, elves, yetis, vampires or not. Sheep or not. Alive or not. Mother Nature has allowed these werecreatures the ability to evolve and take form. A mind of their own, the ability of thought and reflection. The big hunt the small, the small hunt the smaller and the smaller hunt the weak. The weak work to become small and the small fight to become big. Such, is the way of nature. My dear, Mr. Finn, we are neither upholders nor enforcers of Mother Nature and we shall not interfere with the affairs of your trade. We are adventurers from Heroica, and we have business to attend across the waters and we seek a passage across only which you could provide. We are honoured to embark on the vessel's maiden voyage and shall part once we reach our destination and your kindness, will always be remembered."
  18. "Thank you." Purpearl accepts the Scroll of Weakening from Nagure. Purpearl looks at herself and grins, "Thanks for the offer, Dreyrugr, I'm not wearing any armour at this point. Besides, the physical burden of casting it, is too great for me to bear."
  19. "Hello, Purpearl Berthadhiell, at your service." the elf nods in acknowledgement. Purpearl approaches Nagure and stands under the shadow of the yeti. Calm and in control, Purpearl clears her throat, and points to the scroll. "You carry something. I do not deny my heart greatly desire this. If it accompanies me for the duration of this quest."
  20. "Nice to meet you, Scrinshaw." "So I assume you work for Borris? Anything you would like us to know before setting off?" Purpearl turns to Dreyrugr and Baradock. "Hi there, I don't believe we've met before. I am Purpearl Berthadhiell."
  21. OOC: Stats all good, thanks! Purpearl reaches the docks, looks around and realises that she might have followed the scarecrow too closely. She looks at the scarecrow and smiles. "Greetings, Purpearl Berthadhiell, Elven Mage, at your service." "How shall I address you?"
  22. Purpearl stood up, readied herself by beating the dust off her dress with her hand, double checked her belongings and walked briskly towards the scarecrow. On her way, she saw Karie at the bar and gestured at her. Purpearl did not say much, only smiling at her and bowing in gratitude. Stepping out of the Hall, Purpearl stuck close to the scarecrow, and was careful not to get lost along the way.
  23. "You're welcome." "Ah those quests on the board? Yes all of them, except #81. Apparently one went missing in action." "Creepy." "Did you sign up for that one?" Purpearl glances at all the quests on the board. "Dark times. I wonder how many of us will return alive."
  24. "I recognise you. You are back. So did you manage to chase up to your girl?" "There freshen up." and Purpearl pushes a mug towards Johon. "It's just water from the well."
  25. Imagine a time when the doors of Heroica just opened and tons of heroes turned up at the same time seeking adventure. They come from different backgrounds, each have their agendas, conflicts and goals. They drink, they quest and form bonds with each other. Through time, they level up in maturity, experience as well as their personal development. From time to time they embark on different quests (some same) and went separate ways. But there is always one place they could call home and catch up with each other, the Hall. They know each other well, and there's always lots to talk about when they return from faraway journeys. Once in a while, someone new would join, and unlike in previous settings, the Hall is most of the time, empty. These newcomers sit there and wait for the next cycle of quest sign ups to commence. They have no idea how long they have to wait. They just sit there, and wait. Some wait for a day, some few weeks, some up to a month. Depending on how strong their minds and how patient they are, some peservered till the next cycle starts, some felt left out and leave, some turned lazy and begin to live off the free food and drinks, some turned crazy and talked to themselves, some form friendships with fellow newcomers and some grew bored and find comfort in <insert pleasurable activity here>. Then heroes from the previous quests return, and they welcome the new members to the family. Whatever happened in the Hall, in between quests, has already happened and maybe it will define who they are in the future, or change according to circumstances. Seasoned heroes who have the opportunity to see the world will no doubt have different views from the newcomers. Not all understand what is it like to come in to an established organisation with established heroes and try to fight to close off the gap. Stories from past adventures, spoils of war and life experiences are probably what these newcomers lack. Some just patiently wait for their next opportunity and some revert to their 'bad habits'. In any case, this is the journey newcomers have to make. Their developmental pathways and learning curves would be different from the heroes from yesteryears and it will always be good to appreciate where people come from and what they had gone or had to go through.
