  1. "I'm impressed. You've certainly gone through great lengths to keep yourself alive." as Purpearl unequips her Crocodile handbag, exchanging it for the Medallion. After receiving the gems and scrolls from Nerwen, Purpearl takes out her Thorny Rose. "It may not deal great damage demons or demon spawns, but it seeps poison. Just let me know if you see any need for it. I will be happy to lend it to you."
  2. Which Purpearl are you referring to? References add depth to the quest, would love to see how things tie up in #102!
  3. Purpearl ponders for a moment before turning to Bart. The thought of demons continues to trouble her. "Bart, please forgive me for my ignorance, but could you tell me more about those powers you got from the demon? What would happen if your former apprentice and friend, loses his life before the seventh?"
  4. Purpearl nods in agreement, "Sometimes it is better to have more friends than enemies." Glad to see the party united, Purpearl smiles at Nerwen and welcomes Russel and Sir Pigley with a slight wave. "I'm ready."
  5. "I'm alright, thanks for asking. It's nothing, dried out blood from rats. Just helped out with some spring cleaning, so he could get his lady back." Purpearl winks, obviously shuffling and shredding a few facts to avoid embarrassing herself in front of others. "M--att-hias, I saw that," Purpearl grins jokingly as she turns to look at Alexis. Purpearl begins to grow wary of her surroundings, "Heard from those Town Watch guards that it's pretty dangerous around here."
  6. Purpearl heaved a sigh of relief as Alexis and Matthias came into sight and lowered her wand, now stained with dried blood. "Good to see you again, Matthias, Alexis. How did you both find your way? I had to ask for directions, and was lucky to meet Keith Kibblestone." She turns to Johnny and gives a slight nod, trying to clean the blood off her wand, "Pleasure to meet you Mr. Everyman, I am Purpearl Berthadhiell. Please forgive me for being late, I didn't anticipate pests to be so hardy around here." Purpearl shakes her head, "I was desperately trying to keep up with Alexis before two Town Watch guards took my attention away."
  7. Making a quick detour at the Marketplace, Purpearl buys 3 potions for 15 gold, leaving her with 78 gold.
  8. Purpearl nods at Matthias and heads towards the Marketplace, "See you around in a bit."
  9. Purpearl replies to Matthias, in a softer tone, this time blushing a little, as the debrief continues in the background, "Yes. Nelvyn's quite a character, isn't he? You know Nelvyn's an undead, how would your perception change (or not) knowing that a person's once alive, lost his life and subsequently revived as an undead? Walking amongst us all, as if he's alive?"
  10. Purpearl turns to Matthias and speaks, "Try not to let those words falter your spirit, Master Gnome. Compare yourself the first time you step through those doors and that of now. Yes, there might be a slight change in looks, but that's what differentiate you with other people. Your enthusiasm for adventure and that inner fire is still burning ever so brightly, if not brighter. It radiates through your every action and I reckon everyone can be a testimony of that. That." Pointing to his heart. "Is what makes it happen. It is what makes us sentient beings. We laugh, we cry, we get angry. But is also what differentiates us from other people." Putting her hand on Matthias' oversized cannon. "If only we can be master of all trades, but that is not the reality. Imagine a world where there's no weaknesses, everyone can cast a spell, swing a great sword, fire a cannon at the same time. All of that at the same time. Imagine that. Chaos. And trust me, there are people who try to achieve that. Why are we made this way so that I can only hold this wand and you can only hold this cannon? Are we made weak? No. Should we blame the Gods for making us so limited in our abilities? No. As the saying goes, a single blade of grass will bend and falter in the lightest wind. But where grass grows in pasture, in field or savannah; each blade feels but a fraction of the wind’s full force. Look around you, there are Black Knights, Paladins, Mystic Knights, Harlots, Assassins and even Beast Warriors. Wow. Look at that variety. Are they all made perfect? No. Some don special armours, some sharpen their blades and some hone their magical and fighting skills. Because why? Times are changing, my friend. We are no longer in that bubble where we hope that the Gods will constantly hover and look after us. Everyone out there is getting stronger, and we as members of Heroica, it is foolish to continue to perceive that we're the strongest. We represent Heroica, and what makes us different from others and differentiate us from those wayward bandits from the back alley? Tactics. Strategy. Strength. Gone are the times where pure brute strength will solve everything. Pure brute strength will only get you this far." The elf mage points to the ground.
  11. Purpearl's peaceful thoughts are abruptly interrupted by uncomfortable pulses of hostility. She pulls her eyebrows together in bitter countenance and closes her eyes. The elven mage manages a slow deep breath, trying to fend off any wind of unpleasant memories during her time at the High Kingdoms and Baltarok. Regaining back her composure, Purpearl whispers to Matthias, making sure no one else hears, "Grumpy old man syndrome."
  12. Purpearl looks around before turning towards the gnome, "There aren't many here. In any case, it depends on how big a trouble he's gotten himself into."
  13. Thank you CMP, WBD and Zepher for putting the Baltarok trilogy together and would also like to commend the QMs for pulling it off successfully. It is never an easy task to put time and other things aside to run a six month long quest. All these won't be possible without lots of dedication and perseverance. Thank you for your review WBD. I appreciate your feedback and along with the comments others made as well, I will take that all on board and continue to improve on my RP. I understand that there might have been some hiccups along the way but, despite all these, we managed to make it till the end so great work there team #90! I really loved the concept of NPC buddies. That's a very good way to introduce your characters to us, allow us to role play and interact with them and with the world you've created without affecting the storyline. Battles wise, I loved the battles and I felt that the enemies were well balanced and as a team, we worked well together. The puzzles were interesting as well and they provided depth and complexity to your quest. The parting gifts at the end of the quest were well thought out. Overall, I am pleased to be part of this experience and I'd love to be part of your quest again.
  14. "Ah I see, maybe I did mention home, but I don't have a family." Purpearl speaks in a rather melancholic tone. "Excuse me for a second." She gets up, walks towards the quest board, inspects, signs up for Quest #102 and returns to the table.
  15. Purpearl makes several glances at Matthias' huge cannon, looking slightly concerned and "Ah right, I think I might have problems dragging that massive thing around as well. I suppose you shouldn't point it at anyone you don't wish to, you know, incinerate at an instant. But I really hope to see that in action, sometime though." The elven mage winks and whispers to the gnome, "Have... you... been... stalking me?" Purpearl recognises Nerwen as she closes in to the table where Matthias and her sit. She fiddles with her gold pouch for a second and hands Nerwen 50 gold before receiving the Crocodile Handbag, "50 it is. I hope the gem will be more useful to you than it is stuck to this handbag." Ah there he is, the vampire and his bat. Purpearl keeps her eyes on the bat for a bit, watching it fly around the Hall. The presence of the bat didn't worry Purpearl too much, as she knows, that bat might lead her back to the circus, one day... Fiddling with her gold pouch once again, she looks around for Karie. Purpearl hasn't seen her in a while and hopes she's alright.
  16. Purpearl enters the Hall, and notices a few familiar faces but the majority seems to be missing. She thought she was one of the last to report back to the Hall after spending some time at her home in the Eubric forest. The elven mage notices something's different about Matthias, and sits next to him. "Hey, you look different, as far as I can remember. How's that cannon coming along?"
  17. Purpearl returned the items she borrowed, to Haldor and Cinna and should also have 143 gold (113+30 from Borris). I will edit the final stats to exclude the items I've borrowed so it's not a problem. Purpearl had her eyes open to the lands of the Low Kingdoms and Drandora. Despite feeling a little bit reserved at the start of the journey, that feeling was overshadowed by the fantastic shows that the Mercutio's Smile put up time and time again. Every cheer and every smile that the circus managed to pull is a step closer to rebuilding their reputation and a better life ahead. There, before her eyes, she watched as the circus slowly rebuilt their livelihood to where they are now. The elven mage wished that such good times with the circus would never end, but in reality... The time Purpearl dreads finally dawned on her as their adventure together formally comes to a close. Purpearl's eyes wells up as she says her goodbye to all the members of the Mercutio's Circus. Borris' tricks and his amazing fireworks will be missed, Glup's daredevil spirit and Mirona's brute and out of the world's strength will be admired. Lastly, as for Nelvyn, his unwavering smile, even managing to pull a wide smile in life's lowest moments, is something Purpearl will remember for the rest of her life. Purpearl receives the Tunic from Nelvyn and presses it close to her chest, "I know I will feel safe with this on me, just as you've protected me throughout this journey." She cups Nelvyn's cheeks with her hands and looks into his eyes, "Look at you. People no longer hate you now, people enjoy your shows and you are famous. Won't be long before you are back to your former glory. Remember to drop by Eubric when you have the time. Until then, I shall miss you dearly. Goodbye Nelvyn..." Thank you CMP, WBD, Zepher for hosting the Baltarok Trilogy! I enjoyed it thoroughly and had heaps of fun. Thank you for having me!
  18. The elf mage makes eye contact with King Valentino and gives him a slight bow, "You are most welcome, Your Majesty." Purpearl stands alongside the circus troupe and watches, as the other Heroes board The Magpie. She takes a quick glance at the scroll she borrowed from Nagure, and wonders if he's alright. OOC: Since Costy isn't back yet, I suppose QMs can just remove the Scroll of Weakening from Purpearl's inventory and return it to Nagure when everything ends?
  19. Purpearl receives the gold from Boris. < After all that we've been through, it would be nice to catch some fresh air and amazing sights.> Purpearl turns to Nelvyn and Borris, "I have never been to Duplovia nor the Low Kingdoms, so it might be a great opportunity since I'm already here. If you all don't mind me tagging along, I'll be happy to travel with the circus and find a transport back to Eubric when the tour's done." WBD, a level of experience for us?
  20. As Purpearl moves around the bridge, salvaging what she can, she passes by Haldor. "I believe I borrowed these from you not long ago. Thank you." And Purpearl returns the Heavy Metal Rod and the Gladiator's Helmet to Haldor. Purpearl then rejoins the circus. "I will gladly follow, Nelvyn. Where will we be travelling to may I ask? Borris, can I have my Topaz back please?" Purpearl turns to Cinna and returns her Healing Staff and High Heels. "Thank you for your help, Cinna."
  21. Purpearl notices the circus troupe gathering together and approaches them. "Good to see everyone's ok, Borris, Mirona." After which Purpearl follows the circus troupe to salvage whatever's left of the wagon.
  22. 1st preference -> 60g + Heavy Armour + 1 grand tonic 2nd preference -> 60g + 4 consumables (grand tonic, elixir, smelling salt, grand potion) Purpearl stood in awe as Hoke, Alexis and Benji finishes off and downs Raguel in one fell swoop. As Matthias rushes past her towards Glup and Nelvyn, Purpearl quickly follows and lends a helping hand. "Erm, unfortunately this healing staff doesn't work outside battles. Both of them should approach one of the clerics for help. Thank you both for helping Nelvyn." Purpearl turns to the undead elf and smiles, "Thank you for your assistance back there." Nelvyn turns to Matthias, Glup and Purpearl, with a jokingly wide smile (as depicted above), "I'm special remember? How can you kill someone that cannot be killed?"
  23. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Healing Staff works on fallen Heroes, if that is what you are trying to mean, nstickney? Purpearl continues to stand behind Hoke's shield and notices Matthias. She looks at Cinna and shakes her head in return, "I don't have any essences. Maybe someone can help out with that." Purpearl hits Hoke with Healing Staff (Benji if Hoke's at full health). Purpearl hits Benji with Healing Staff.
  24. Purpearl scurries behind Hoke's massive shield and hits Hoke twice with the Healing Staff. (If Hoke's healed to full health at any point, Purpearl stays behind Hoke and stretches her arm as much as she can to hit Benji with the Healing Staff.)
  25. Purpearl panics and fumbles with her belongings, incidentally pouring a Grand Potion and hitting Benji with a Healing Staff.
