  1. Could you give a link please? Bluebeard, out-
  2. Which should've been mine!! Seriously, I'm such an idiot for letting that bargain slip through my fingers. I guess I was too distracted by an MISB Emporer's Ship. On-topic: If you want a cheap ship, then maybe you could go for a 6268 Renegade Runner. It's not outstanding, but I'd say it's still a great Pirate set. You get quite a few pirates with it too (including the almighty Capt. Ironhook! ), as well as a good assortment of weapons! Bluebeard, out-
  3. Not sure whether this goes here, but I post it anyway: I don't believe what I just saw on eBay! A 100% complete Skull Island sold for a mere £4.99! Now I feel like a complete moron for not bidding. And it's not like the seller's unreliable 'cause he's got 100% feedback. Here's the link if you don't believe me. Bluebeard, out-
  4. Hi BlackBrit! Those are some great MOCs ya got there (I especially love the Harbour and Cross Bone Clipper MOD; It looks much better than the actual set). I hope you enjoy your stay here and come out with some more MOCs! Bluebeard, out-
  5. A note on the "sticker shako" issue - We must remember that these are preliminary pictures. It is possible that the shako will have print on them in the final model. Why do I say this? 'Cause if you look at the Pirate Creator set, you'll notice that minifig has a torso sticker. Now, do you honestly think that TLG would put a torso sticker in a set (unless it was LEGO Factory)? 6. Set No. 6239 (The one with the cannon wagon) What I like: It comes with a pirate and a Redcoat, so there's some playability. It has a cannon, on a wagon no less! Neat cannon lighter piece. What I don't like: There appears to be no treasure. Hmm....so what are they supposed to fight over? There also seems to be lack of "creature feature". They could've at least put in a parrot. Set No. 6240 (The one with the octopus) What I like: The nice looking raft. The crow's nest. It's nice to have somewhere to put the second pirate without having to actually put him on the raft. The new spyglass piece. It comes with a parrot and an octopus (which I still have yet to own for some reason... ) What I don't like: The pirate with the blue bandana is ugly. The fact that it comes with treasure. Why does it need to be there? Why would an octopus want to steal a couple of jewels? Set No. 6241 (The one with the marooned pirate) What I like: The minifigs are awesome! Interesting new fish-piece. The new base plate. It has a crocodile, thus adding to the playability. What I don't like: It needs a proper palm tree, instead of that sorry excuse. The tiny catapult. Set No. 6242 (The Fort) What I like: The outstanding minifigs, especially the new Admiral, complete with gold epaulettes! The (possible) POTC reference. The prison building. I especially love the lamps. The crane. You can tell TLG looked at the old forts when making this one. The 1x1 Technic brick in the bottom of the building could mean modular expansion. The shed-like thing where the rum is kept. The fact that they kept the old Imperial flags. What I don't like: The tower looks a bit empty, but I could be wrong. The <insert that tiresome argument> palm tree. Set No. 6243 (The Ship) What I like: The beautiful mermaid figure. The new wench (let's face it, a new Pirate theme wouldn't be complete without one). The fact that you get a parrot, a monkey and a shark, all in the same set! The entire ship looks fantastic! The captain's quarters. You get a couple of Redcoats to fight and capture. That the colourscheme is much better than that of the Cross Bone Clipper. What I don't like: The cannon at the back is out of place. The skulls on the sails. Needs more cannons. No anchor. 7. Then tell me why this is available on S@H and the premium version isn't. Bluebeard, out-
  8. Is this book an US-exclusive? 'Cause I can't seem to find it on UK S@H. Bluebeard, out-
  9. 100% Agreed. I for one, am gonna buy nothing but Pirates (OK, I might buy one or two Indiana Jones and Castle sets, but on the whole, it's gonna be Pirates all the way! ). On another matter, any guesses as to what the two unrevealed sets are? I'm 90% sure that one of them is a pirate hideout and the other one is probably a little island with a poor stranded pirate. Bluebeard, out-
  10. Meh...I'd rather see a new Redcoat ship. That'd be infinitely more awesome. Bluebeard, out-
  11. Link. I don't know about you, but I'm getting at least 3 of these if they're at a good price. That minifig is just amazing! Bluebeard, out-
  12. IMO, these new sets are everything I've hoped for and more. I'm lovin' the new shakos! I'll definitely be buying all of them (out of the ones I've seen, that is). However, I do hope those sails are cloth... Bluebeard, out-
  13. The first person who can spot the difference wins a cookie! On-topic: It's a shame none these are in the UK, but then again, they rarely are. Bluebeard, out-
  14. Ever since I saw the recent merchandise topic this morning, I was sure of it. Pirates is definitely returning next year. Bluebeard, out-
  15. As much as I like pirates, I'd rather live in this set: You really can't get much better than a massive fort, can you? Bluebeard, out-
  16. I, personally, don't like this ship. Here's why: 1) The colour scheme is shattered by the splashes of green. 2) The collapsing mast is ridiculous and unnecessary. 3) It's missing a cannon and a Spanish soldier. 4) The figurehead is ugly. 5) Why is there a flag on the front mast? However, there are a few good things about it: 1) Unlike the IFS, it does have some form of anchorage. 2) The flag and sails are great! 3) The white hull can come in handy when making an Imperial Ship MOCs. 4) The minifigures are awesome! Overall, I give it a 2/5. Despite all the bad things about it, I might pick this up sometime for spare parts if I can find it at a reasonable price. Bluebeard, out-
  17. I'm going to bend the rules slightly and say I'd love to get this set: So awesome... Why, oh why did I not get this set instead of the Elephant Caravan?! Bluebeard, out-
  18. New pieces: 1) Telescope 2) A cutlass holster! 3) Bayonet Pieces that should return: 1) Cannon 2) Rag-hat (in red, blue, green, black and white) 3) Pistols and muskets 4) Epaulette (maybe they could make them in gold for the Admiral and the Commodore ) 5) Shako 6) Tricorne and Bicorne 7) Cloth sails (Not plastic! ) 8) The old masts (in brown) 9) The old hull pieces 10) The old pirate flag Possible factions (other than the pirates ): 1) Imperial Armada (they didn't really get a chance to shine) 2) Islanders 3) Redcoats AKA Imperial Guard 4) Ninjas! (j/k) Bluebeard, out-
  19. I plan to make an Imperial Guard ship, about the same size as the Renegade Runner, but it'll have a different colour scheme and design. Unfortunately, it hasn't reached the "building stage" yet, but I've started de-constructing my Renegade Runner so I've got the ship base to work with. Bluebeard, out-
  20. Hmm...I would have to say: 1) Ice Planet 2002, 6973 Deep Freeze Defender. Arguably the best LEGO spaceship ever. 2) Pirates, 6285 Black Seas Barracuda. What it lacks in power, it makes up for in style. 3) Western, 6769 Fort Legoredo. This set is made of WIN! And brown bricks.....lots of brown bricks... Bluebeard, out-
  21. I looked up my number and got a set with an unusual concept... Bluebeard, out-
  22. I know. I'm just being optimistic! Bluebeard, out-
  23. No idea...probably not as much most people's collections on this forum. However, hopefully, I'll be able to get hold of some more Pirate LEGO this year and increase the value. Bluebeard, out-
  24. Huh? I always got the impression everyone hated Fright Knights. I guess I was wrong! Bluebeard, out-
