  1. Geez, this MOC looks like a movie set or something. Very imposing! You've definitely developed a personal style with your rockwork often incorporating striations of color and it's well done here as well. Some kind of crazy fit of inspiration or table scrap fiddling must have struck you with respect to the throne itself; it's just perfect!
  2. A very Nocty-like build here. I agree with much of the above regarding the foliage, the tree is great here with the red horns. I also think the tower is really great given the restrictions you imposed!
  3. The contrast between the tan of the surrounding desert + the about-to-crash-down waves and the white/green of the city really helps convey the action here--I wonder if that might have been further enhanced by swapping the black boarder for tan as well. I totally love your use of the 3-leaf stem pieces as palm trees. Going to have to remember that! Another nice MOC adde51!
  4. This is a really cool build! Very atmospheric and the way you lit this is just perfect.
  5. Not all of Mitgardia is covered in snow year-round! Outposts in the south near Avalonia usually experience four seasons every year and are considered particularly nice postings among the Guild's soldiers. Wow, I'm truly amazed this thing has been going for 10 years now! A couple more pictures are here. C&C always appreciated!
  6. I like how bright these are Kai! The buildings certainly capture the spirit of the new blacksmith shop and scale it down into a more "classic castle" footprint.
  7. The handlebar technique for offset bricks is rather inspired SK. And, that little wooden section on the side is just lovely (they make reddish brown ingots????? ) as are the trees--they almost seem like a more detailed evolution of the flex tubing tree trunks that were everywhere a while back. I can't say switching the brickwork technique in the middle section works very well to my eye though. I might have kept the studs-on-top construction throughout.
  8. An awful lot to like here! Great way to make a hexagon tower, I'm definitely going to have to try it sometime. Love the flag at the top and the minifig posing too. Sweet little slice of a castle here.
  9. Great textures all around here. Smart usage of the log bricks for the door!
  10. This is a cool MOC adde51. The salmon color and the azure play off each other very nicely. I admit to mostly loathing the "dump Lego on the table" techniques for water and flooring and whatnot--however I also admit that the pile of leaf pieces off to the left and around the back looks really good.
  11. Yup. Immersive builds in general do that to you, and to your bank account! Despite your pain here, this came out absolutely fantastically. (Which is probably why a lot of us really like these "100% Lego" presentations!) The scale of this build and the lighting really create an epic movie-like vibe.
  12. You've got a great ability to convey a sense of scale with your MOCs and that definitely comes through here. Great work, love the lighting effects too!
  13. This is a really beautiful build Ayrlego! The color scheme here is great, and the inset wood paneling is a lovely little bit of detailing.
  14. I finally got some standalone pics taken of the beastie! Thanks Grover! Honestly the trees came out a little more "sparse" than I really wanted, probably should have added at least another set of branches to each of them. Inspiration on the legs came from this and probably some others' usage of those modified 2x2 plates in other animals and mechs over the years. I knew the head was going to be big and heavy, so I tried to keep the neck short. I lost some clutch power in those joints though and so the stream of fire was actually holding the dragon upright for photography here! Glad you liked this one! Hopefully one of us wins this CCC category if the results are ever posted. Lancelot might help here! Thanks SK! It was definitely a focus of mine to get the slopes all going in the same direction here. I thought it would look good here since the MOC itself is pretty long and give a sense of windblown snow rather than a haphazard pile of white Lego. Therefore, I'm glad this was a recognized highlight for you! Thanks socalbricks!
  15. Heck of an MOC Ecc! Loving all the interiors, but your detailing on the exteriors and blending of the styles there is really great.
  16. Well, this is exciting! Hard to believe it's been 10 years though. I feel old all of a sudden.
  17. This is a really great little house!
  18. Thanks folks! Yes, the dragon is quite articulated; I need to get some pictures posted of it separate from the dio this week.
  19. Dragon Attack on the Village Outskirts | mrcp6d | Mitgardia
  20. A free build from me:
  21. Dragons are somewhat rare in Mitgardia, and while some are tamable, most are deadly if reclusive wild animals. The Western Large-Maw Wyvern species is known for eating deer, bear, and especially mammoth--putting its disproportionately large head and mouth to good use. While they typically inhabit the more remote mountains and foothills north of Erikson and avoid contact with humans, every now and then one of these winged fire-breathers is pressured out of its home range and become a hungry menace to the smaller villages in the country between Erikson, Falkidalr, Nordheim, and Northridge. It's good to build in the Guilds again! I actually started the dragon before even last year's CCC and had it almost complete back then but didn't finish it or build anything to go with it. The wing fabric was designed by me in FUSION360 and then laser cut. Totally a fantastic way to do this kind of stuff as opposed to trying to cut stud-sized holes with a leather punch or something and the outline with a rotary wheel and scissors--I tried that with a test piece, it's not fun and frayed edges are a thing. CAD makes relating all the features super accurate, even through the angles created by the hinges. More angles in the Flickr album. C&C is always good.
  22. This is a potentially cool idea really. Lower each full revolution a plate as you go towards the center and see what happens.
  23. Stunning work here John! This is one of those MOCs that's deceptively enormous. You filled the acreage will a great amount of detail too and the colors all look nice together; however, I can't square the fall foliage on the trees with the lime green grass.
  24. It took me a while to appreciate the sand blue of the central tower, but I quite like it as a low-key accent/change of pace from the usual. The little scenes of minifigs scattered throughout are lovely and the full interior is just awesome. Great, inspiring work once again Ecc!
