Tower of the nameless seer [Avalonia]
mrcp6d replied to T-86(swebrickLUG)'s topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome work with the decaying/damaged impression in the structure, really well done by going SNOT with the large wall panels. The lime green here is bold! I'm not sure of my opinion one way or another honestly. -
Sanctuary of light [Dandelume, Avalonia]

Nicely composed MOC in my opinion! The tree here is fantastic and I like the lighting effects. -
‘Feudal Courtyard’ [Dandelume, Avalonia]

Strong vig here. While the foliage is definitely the highlight, the "stonework" around the fountain is well-managed too. I think some more height for the wall in the back and a maybe equal amount of height above the fountain might have provided some more framing for the tree and created a better overall composition for me. -
The grey tower has some interesting texture/stonework techniques that I really want to see on a larger scale MOC! Love the half-timber building here as well and your embellishments to the basic canoe piece to make it something special are awesome. The blue and tan building is sort of jarring to me as it's such a departure in style and color from the rest of the build, but it also falls in line with the "Ninjago City but Castle" prompt so it makes sense. Lighting is awesome as others have stated too. I need to get some for MOCs!

This is so fun. Very nice and clean round tower--well, not really given the gulls , but the construction is great. Great rocks along the shoreline too.

Really great large-scale work here! The details on the shelves in the back are fantastic, love the unique book shapes you achieved as a result of this chosen scale and the little mini-models that call back to Adventurers sets are lovely. Using Dr. Lightning's signature magnifying glass as his glasses is just icing on the cake! Sweet build!

"Brilliant" is definitely a good word to describe the engine construction! Proportions and shaping of the airplane look perfect for a WWI craft to me, and I really like the "logo" you've crafted above the hanger door.

Really great Aquazone builds! The Aquashark is amazing and of course that dio is excellent! There's got to be a cost effective way to get the "true" hexagon rocks from the catalogue pictures, but your use of slopes in those landscapes works very well.

[MOC] AquaJune a month of Aquazone
mrcp6d replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Love the original Aquazone theme! This and Ice Planet 2002 were I think the two themes of my childhood I and my brother had all the sets between us. These MOCs are an excellent slice of nostalgia for me. I'll have to plan a little bit for an AquaJune next year!- 13 replies

[REVIEW] 31132 Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent
mrcp6d replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for the review MKJoshA! I totally agree with you on the shields, I thought they were a little big when this set was revealed but with the side-by-side they're pretty comical IMO. Lego clearly really wants everything that can be to be brick built in the Creator line and sometimes that hurts the set. Hoping I get this set for Christmas regardless! -
Nice usage of the CMF walnut tile here, and great overall shaping of the mammoth itself! I'll have to get some of those quarter-round tiles in appropriate colors to do that mushroom technique, it's really effective. Great MOC!
-
First thing I thought when that CMF 1x1 was revealed was "micro builds!" It obviously works really well here. NPU with the buckets!
-
The orange is bold, but it works well with the other colors you used! Interesting techniques for the non-orthogonal corners too, I'll have to try that.
-
I really like the wagon covering you achived here!

[MOC] Dawnward castle and the earth dragon
mrcp6d replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great camera angle/composition choice for a great microscale castle! I really like the use of the Aquazone cones for the tower roofs, don't see that part used very often. And the chopsticks for the dragon's head are rather inspired too.- 5 replies
