Brilliant, just as good as your old one in it's own way. One thing I did notice is that there doesn't seem to be a pedestrian door at the rear.
-
Brilliant, you made every stud width count!
-
Well it certainly seems like you're happy with your new set!
-
Hopefully you won't need to use the pliers or stanley knife to build it! ;)

I've just rebuilt the open wagon from my set (the brown one), because I wasn't too keen on the design of it. I used the tipper lorry body from The Mine set (4204) because I wasn't too keen on that model either. So I've managed to build one model I like from two that I didn't!

I bought two of the passenger trains (7938) because I wanted extra carriages and spare PF kit. Depending on how much you have to pay for your sets (I shop around) it's better value considering the cost of buying PF parts, track, train baseplates, wheelsets, etc on their own.

I got this set recently and I'm glad I did, although the loading hopper thing that comes with it is a bit pointless.

I'm not sure how it would work with lego, but you can get DCC controls for a lot less than EUR 600 can't you? Like Roco or Bachmann ones...I'm not too up on DCC exactly because my HO railway is Maerklin (which I semi regret).

I've got FB, PS and GE and out of those I would say Fire Brigade. They're all amazing though, you wouldn't regret any of those three from my experience.

I think it depends on how you feel and where you place them on a layout, because the City buildings are often a lot shorter too. Also a little additional work to add to the city buildings would help. I'm just about to try and modularise the Forest Police HQ! I put some hinged rear walls on the other day using a second set I bought cheaply but I'm thinking of adding a second floor because the one little office is too small to house my 18 officers.

Wonderful! I'm very impressed at the level of detail, for example the hydraulic rams on the platform booms.

I went to Toys R Us (in the UK) just now to see if they had the City 'battle packs' in stock. They didn't so I bought the 60002 Fire Engine instead, which I think is smashing - the best Lego fire engine I've seen. It doesn't quite fit in the modular fire station though, it's only a fraction too high but it's way too long. I'm going to use the hydrant to replace the wobbly tree outside though I think. I only live about 150 yards from TRU but what with amazon, etc I don't normally like to pay their full prices, otherwise it'd be dangerous. Also, I quite like the way the Town Centre set seems to be shaping up for me personally as I haven't got a crane yet, however I'm halfway through building a red and white version of the City Corner bus...oh well I'll have two red buses.

I'm not sure I like this set very much, which is handy from the point of view of my bank balance. I don't know why, because I love the three I have got - Fire, Pets and Emporium. Perphaps it will grow on me, but if I do buy another this certainly isn't coming before the Town Hall.

I like what you've done, good idea to use those to fill the gap. If you rebuild the tractor unit into a shorter, forward control, two axle unit then you'd have two spare axles and some more spare parts.

I wouldn't modularise it if I were you, I think it's great how it is. Just needs to be bigger... ;)

I've got three of the policemen from series nine now, I do like them which is more than I can say for the three Jeckyl and Hyde figures I've also got.
-
I love it, especially the way it gets bigger and bigger.

Brilliant job you've done, really atmospheric. I've just finished building some brewery delivery vehicles myself, I'll try and get them photographed and show them.

Really impressive stuff, apart from the quality of the cars I also like the way each has a custom driver.

It looks nice, I'd probably say a standard type day cab or a crew cab would be more prototypical if such things are a concern to you.
