OoC: This is my mistake, but I should have added the 50 gold Arthur gave me to give Docken. I should have 79 gold. -

Boomingham wanders the streets of Eubric, holding a crumpled old map, until finally he totally by chance stumbles upon his questmates. There's drink on his breath, but he seems to be sobering up. It is only upon seeing the Guards man that little warning flags shoot up. Though he and Nyx have just had their fight, he has few others to mumble thoughts to. "I don't think I signed up for this quest personally," Boomingham says out of the corner of his mouth to her. "Should have checked the quest board before the quest, seen if I'd recognized the hand writing...." Boomingham narrows his eyes. "Gods be damned, why must I drink so much in the Hall and so little on Quests." Boomingham leans back and smiles. He hums a little tune and stares out at this other questmates who have so far arrived. "Hello all! Atramor, good to see you again. I've been too long since we've looked through boxes together. And Ellaria... I doubt you remember me. We had a brief chat when you arrived, why back when." Boomingham's face scrunches up in thought. "That means we're missing Ruffy, love that chap, and the Ogre." -

No, Zeph was supposed to hold on to Barkington so that he'd reappear when he was supposed to. Don't worry, Barkley's story will come to an end as with all my plots, and when that day comes, Cronk may have him. It may be about a year from now... but... yah know, worth the wait (?)

BAWK! Poncho Parrot here, ready to deliver your mail and BAWK do other parrot related things. No one kick me. (Too obscure of a reference, Hincks?) -
5 total will exist. One for each Wren Quest. And with Arthur around... we could have a really pro-Wren party! I love the Frog Paladins. They should start to pop up more. Because Zepher is lazy and also went out that night and forgot he had not done one. I think Boomingham should get the play thing. That would be a fun twist.

Boomingham lifts an eyebrow. He had fought with Nyx only once before, long ago in the desert, where tempers had been running high. He had put her in her place then... but that was the beginning of their friendship. And this was more unexpected. "I didn't know you had taken such a liking to the little guy. I'm not saying that slashing your problems with a blade isn't wrong... but you weren't there. He got what was coming to him. There are some memories we aren't supposed to be forced to relive. You have my respect, Nyx, and my admiration, but bear in mind that you are still a child, and I am not." Boomingham sighs deeply, and drains his Flaming Gumball. "I will try my best to find the little rascal, for your sake. That's the best I can say to you." Boomingham's other eyebrow shoots up when Skrall appears next to him. He does not so much as mutter a greeting, and orders another drink, but remains sitting.
-
"Oh... well, Barty's on a bit of a vacation... or so he'd have me believe. I think he's just trying to get my goat. Everyone I've spoken to pretty much agrees you can't actually kill an angel with a sword..." Boomingham mutters under his breath. He looks flustered, but he pulls himself back together and smiles wanly. "No doubt he'll pop up at the worst time. The little fellow sure likes punishing people. Odd for an Angel." "I've not been up to much while you've been gone. Put down one of your... insaner fellow magic users. Made friends with Nur and Haldor and Docken, all solid fellows, sad they won't be with us. I got to see Jess again. Traveled around Eubric. The likes. Gained a nice ol' grudge for the Wolfgang. I hope we get to behead a few." "Or both," boasts Boomingham proudly.

Treestump? I'd pay big money to see you make Scuba the Treetrunk this game. -
Happy I went searching for that Arthur moment. I love re-reading old Wren stuff. Where the hell did the pet name Honey Pot come from? I also enjoy the "award winning smile". Finally, the reason I actually copied it, if anyone wants a quick review of Wren's view on Chaos and her goals... that final paragraphs a useful read . I also LOVE Atramor's dismissal of Wren. "Yeah, she's crazy man." Everyone else is trying to figure her out, and Atramor could care less.
-
I actually considered it for the Chimera Battle, but I'm really afraid of giving away anything about her stats... aka I'm afraid of making up stats for her. I don't even remember writing that phrase. Did Wren say it? I'm assuming when you met her in Quest 31? I'm sorry, I write so much for this game, it's hard to remember each phrase. I'd say YES unless Sandy says NO.
-
Well, as much as I hate to admit it, neither Wren nor I actually "own" Chaos. It was sort of a concept before us, so I don't know if Wren or I am really allowed to call an interpretation "wrong". Well, Wren can, and probably will, but I won't be so pompous as to do that. What I think you're asking, actually, is if your understanding of Chaos is close to Wren's beliefs. And to that... I'd say you're pretty close. Arthur, Haldor and Skrall have all said things that are very similar to what Wren believes. She herself has stated two major parts of her thoughts on Chaos: In Haddon she said it was essentially the way the world works, so you just got to go with the flow, because you can't fight it; and in Dastan (and also Haddon a bit), she talked about how SOMEONE's got to be in charge of all that Chaos. She will reveal one more important part of her thoughts on Chaos in Quest 38. I'm REALLY excited to tell the story of Quest 38. Wren took a back-seat in Quest 30. She takes more of an active part than ever before in Quest 38.

Heroica RPG - Quest #39: The Great Guffington

Are we going to see Docken as an assassin. If you want someone to sell that shield to... The Hourlings go through their transformations once more. Round 10 Hourlings Battle Docken v. Uma - Damage (5/2-15=0) (I'm predicting the way this vote is going to turn out right now) Guts retrieves Smelling Salts Hybros v. Uma - Hit (32-2=30) (No Assassination) Hybros v. Uma - Damage (5) Docken's shield absorbs Uma's entire strike, and Hybros and she exchange blows as Guts pockets the Smelling Salts that have appeared in front of him, hardly paying attention to the combat at all. The Enemies Uma Level 5 Hourling *Poisoned* Health: 81/324 SP: 2 Special: Envy – Uma attacks a hero with a force equal to the hero’s power, minus half the hero’s current health. This blow disregards SP/row. Sisco, I do apologize for not taking you on this Quest. If there were a sixth spot, you'd have it, but you are one of the few heroes to have already been on 2 Wren Quests, so I thought I'd give some new blood a shot instead. Besides, Althior and Alexis AND Jess and Haldor have had a very nice run of being on Quests together, I say it's time to send 'em their own ways for a while.
-
A silly looking quiet man slips into the Hall, tacks something on the Questboard, and slips back out. Chosen Players Quest 38 Haldor (Scorpiox) *Party Leader* Alexis (Masked Builder) Tesni Hightribe (Peppermint_M) Arthur (Flipz) Cronk (CorneliusMurdoch) Huzzah for remembering the rules for advanced classes! We still leave on Monday. Fields of Glory folks, if you'd both rather stay there, I can fill your spots with someone else, though you know I'd love to have you!
-
I also love all the references made by... everyone about the time Tesni almost killed Hoke. I literally laugh every time I read it. Speaking of which, where has Hoke been recently? I miss him.
-
What a kick-megablocks party. EDIT (in response to Flipz): I would be a cleric. In all honesty, they can do the most good in a real-world scenario... though I guess a Sage would be equally useful on the healing front, and you'd have the added bonus of also being... you know, like super magic.
-
Boomingham laughs again. "Sure thing. Docken is used to me paying him debts."
-
"Don't believe we've had the pleasure, but you must have heard the name. Lord Boomingham, King of the Desert and the Dead Kingdom? Slayer of the Bluehood?" Boomingham smiles. "Docken is one of my war buddies, yes indeed. So is this lovely lady. We were just about to catch up when you injected yourself. Grab a chair on my other side, and you can quiz Nyx all you like as soon as I'm done giving her the warmest welcome."
-
-
The doors of the hall slam open and Boomingham tumbles in back first, bottle in hand. "Damn..." he mumbles as he pulls himself to his feet. "Damn that little guy. I can't get it his words out of my head, and I can't... I can't get him to be here where I actually need him. Damn." Boomingham spins around and sees that the hall has picked up traffic wise... significantly. His eyes drift over the large Ogre warily and quickly - with such a stature it's no shock he draws attention. He nods to Thothick, a fellow he had once had a short and pleasant conversation with. He glances over at the bar, wondering if perhaps it's time for another drink... and sees his favorite drink already flaming, in one of his favorite people's hands. Boomingham grins widely and passes his bottle off to Althior, the nearest hero, before shoving his way through the mass of people and plopping down in the chair next to Nyx. She is mid-conversation with Nerwen, the cleric Boomingham met briefly on the Quest that had ended due to poorly planned time travel. He clears his throat. "One Flaming Gumball, please!" he hollers at Scheherazade.

My enemies are going to have SP higher than the parties attack from now on. (Only seriously)

I'm leaving in a week. No excuses. THIS IS MAFIA. -
I had a ton of fun creating a side-quests, and they really allowed me to introduce plot points earlier than I thought I'd be able to. I will never again host a quest in a full city though... there were too many places that people could go to . As for the comments on players past - I always pick players that I really like for my quests, so they're also players I know fairly well. I may have put in the Flaming Gumballs because I talk about them so much as Boomingham and sort of forgot which character I was playing... but I like that Wren likes them too . As for you getting to meet XX again, I'll make sure you're there! He's going to be around for a while. Of course, he works for the highest bidder, so you never know where he might pop up. Thank you for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed the Quest!
