Very nice post, Flipz. Wall of texts are TOUGH in an RPG, and I generally advise against them because sometimes people skim them and then you're just cheating yourself and bothering them, but this was VERY nicely done, and a nice cross-over with the Proggs. I like the Regret, I'll be interested to see where he goes. I think Proggs may be more dangerous and scary then Wren. It's too bad they never got a chance to cross-over.

Wouldn't be the first time that Haldor slept with someone to complete a quest... I'm actually glad that we are having more potential sexual things in Heroica. It's a real part of life, and when artfully handled, it can be an important part of fantasy! Game of Thrones plays with it wonderfully! Before we had too many relationships, now we have too few.

Photobucket resizes! I use Photobucket. I actually like it quite a lot!

Looks good to me, Flipz! Could we possible make it smaller? But other than that, awesome.

Purple and black would be two good colors to go with, with the words in gold as per Heroica standard! I hope to one day venture into the FoG, though I don't know with who yet, or when.

If any of you lovely people would like to donate your time and talents to making me a "Quest 53: Chaos in Eubric" Quest Poster, that would be wonderful!! If not, we'll go with the time tested Zepher way of putting the title in bold and size 24 font on the top of the thread!!

Surely! I will be posting hero statistics take check over and letting the heroes talk for a few hours before anything at all happens, so feel free to even join the thread a little late. I'll still post your stats for you to okay, but Haldor doesn't have to physically be there quite yet if you don't want!

I absolutely love it! GARCs are the first things I'm building when I return home! I love the clunkiness of your's (something that really appeals to me about GARCs), and the color scheme is nice and flashy! Great pilots, very swooshable. I wish at certain points there was just a BIT more greeble work thrown in, but overall, superb job and I can't wait to see what you've got coming our way!

Johnny Everyman steps outside the Hall, rolling a cigarette and popping it between his lips lazily. He glances up at the sky and marvels at the clouds as he lights a match which in turn lights his cigarette. He huffs and puffs happily for a few seconds, glancing into his pocket, looking at the drawstring bag full of gold he had stolen from some silly looking U'Kin. He had ducked into the hall to avoid detection, but apparently the City Watch has more things on it's mind. Johnny walks a few paces from the Hall, considering departing for his next personal adventure, when a bird swoops by and lands in his hand. He lifts it to eye level. There is a note tied nicely to its leg. Johnny Everyman unties it and shoos the bird. He unfurls the note and reads. Nearby, a few heroes congregate. He glances over at them. "Come on in, you may want to read this." Everyman marches into the hall. His cigarette is flicked from his mouth casually and he crushes it underfoot. Below the Quest 53 sign ups, he tacks another note. If you signed up for Quest 53, or do before the quest begins tomorrow/tonight (depending on where you live), you are selected. Prepare yourselves. (Currently, those heroes include Skrall, Hoke, Arthur, Nyx, Thothwick, Atramor, Cronk, and Alexis).

It is indeed. Gives you ideas for loot and rewards, don't it. I want to know if this is the first time a party has ever returned and ALL gone on the next quest together.

Yay! I finally get to put all my praise in one place! Etzel, you are a really superb quest master. Your two quests have both been unique in their techniques, and have both had absolutely beautiful sets. You have really fleshed out a group of people, something that I think is a great story-telling device. We don't need to see the same NPCs each time, we see an order. That's awesome. Your inclusion of the characters in the sets make them perfect. This is sort of stream of consciousness praise, so I apologize for that, but seriously, superb job. I also love all the outfits in your quest - they give the Paladin Order distinct colors and designs while still using a series of different clothing. Jorke and the Novices and even the second battalion... they all look so perfect, so in color, yet so unique. Finally, as I've said, you beat me to the murder mystery quest, and I wouldn't want to have been beat to it by anyone else, because the quest was just fantastic. I hope Boomingham gets to butt heads with your Order sooner or later, both for character reasons and for the superb quests you host. Congrats, Etzel, and thanks for somehow meeting my deadline down to the day.

How nice and serene. If there is indeed an end of the world, this is how I hope I go into it! The stairs are a great scale, and the roof is, as others said, very cool. A simple, calm MOC communicating a simple, calm idea. Perfect!

I'm more interested to see what Haldor wants with the novices. And, just one final reminder, Quest 53 sign-ups END tomorrow, and the quest will begin the 21st at probably about midnight, my time. That being said, Dyric (Legonator) if you feel like you want to finish your current battle in the FoG and then "join up" with the party, I will happily allow that. Those Wren Questers on 108 Stars of Destiny, depending when you return and how strongly you want to be on the quest (I want you there, but of course can't force you ) I will also try to work something out, even if you only make it for the final battle. I hope everyone is excited as I am... a number of people have put quite a bit of work into this quest, and I really hope it shows Heroica at it's best. I will individually thank them when the quest ends, so as not to spoil anything, but I'm really hoping that this quest highlights the wonderful community we've created.

I found a hole in Monk Pretzel's story. I agree with you, actually, quick battles are more fun. I've written about it in the QM Lounge before. SP, however, can be a part of that. The increase in SP piercing artifacts makes SP more useful on an enemy, and also limits who attacks what more severely. Higher level heroes are more obligated to attack enemies with high SP, because they're more likely to actually do significant damage.
-
Fingers still crossed for the 21st, but if I have to move it a day or two for you three and Dyric, that's fine with me. I just need to hold some of it in the month that I'm home for reasons that will become apparent in the quest.

Heroica RPG - Quest #54: Taking Out the Laundry
Zepher replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Use your Phoenix Essence on Lawrence now!" Barty hisses to Ellaria. Battle Order Harkenshire v. Sedi Ellaria uses Phoenix Down on Boomingham Boomingham heals Ellaria -
What's your complaint against SP? Just for curiosities sake, so I know why people like it/dislike it. And they were sold in Quest 19, I believe. Or were in the factory where people had weapons? They're a fun drop. They're useful to people who want to upgrade their current weapon and don't want a bunch of new ones dropped. They also are more valuable to people with higher WPs, so younger heroes can buy them and sell them for a profit to heroes with high WP, who also still save gold. I'm happy they're back, I was actually going to use them in 53 anyway because I like them. Quest 55, OoC makes quests very hard to read and enjoy sometimes. Here's a fantastically worded reason why you can stop justifying your characters. I was just going to copy one line of it, but it's all applicable, so I kept it all: Just play the game, don't apologize for or clarify your character's actions. We know some characters clash, and that doesn't mean the people do.

Haldor to the rescue! Best end of a boss fight EVER.

If I was better on the number crunching side of battles, I'd totally help out, Sandy. Maybe one day, further down the road. My enemies now also have SP... something I learned to include while hosting 30, and getting to have enemies cross over from BD's quest, actually. BD's enemies are tougher because they have SP, which literally helps their health so much, and adds an extra element of strategy. If the enemies have 3 SP, and are hit 13 rounds in a row, that's like them having an extra 39 health. That's pretty important. And, as the original creator of the grating stone, I'd like to say a) I'm happy they're back in two quests right now and b) they were not intended to raise WP, but I guess it's up to the new QMs using them! If your players aren't conspiring against you, they're not really playing the game.

Heroica RPG - Quest #54: Taking Out the Laundry
Zepher replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"You can't risk shooting the leader. He'll barely scratch you if you hang in the back and keep your shield up." You'll only take two damage from him. It's safer to just attack Sedi, and you'll potentially actually do some damage to him. -
Ah, have some fun! AND there's a reason for it anyway! And we have a smoke bomb, and two phoenix essences. We'll be okay.

Boomingham and I live on the edge.

Heroica RPG - Quest #54: Taking Out the Laundry
Zepher replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Barty zips around nervously. "Stand and fight, Lawrence! Where is your new God now?!" The little angel whisks his way over to Harkenshire. "You may want to throw that smoke bomb, Mr. Harkenshire. Maybe regroup and face them down again?" Boomingham groans from the ground. "No retreat! We can survive if we're smart. Harkenshire, take on Sedi this round, and take the hit from their leader. Gulk still seems to be shocked that he's hit something. Next round Ellaria will get me off the ground, and we'll be back in this thing."
