  1. There are only 4 other weapons over 15 WP: Pheles Rod (also from a "Big Big Bad"), Twin Broad Swords, Godricsleif (which was upgraded to where it is by rogue money), Steel Fan (also upgraded due to rogue), Demonic Scissors (upgraded by a rogue)... and that's it. The average, if I had to guess, is a little under 10 WP, actually. So again, I don't think weapons are too powerful right now. EDIT: That was pulled from the Hero Statistic pages. So you're right, actually, I think there has been a drop or two in 50 that's over 20 as well. Regardless, I'd still say the average WP hovers around 10, so with 28 you're dishing out about triple of what other heroes do (without any of those additional multipliers you can afford), so those upgrades were not a waste. I know it wasn't a Scuba sob story, I don't think you'd do one of those. I think we SHOULD raise complaints and suggestions for the game, I just personally don't see this one as a problem like you do, but that doesn't mean I think you should stop raising points!
  2. JimBee created them. If he says they're unusable, they are. I'm sorry you guys are so miffed by the enemy slowing you down... oh, wait, no I'm not. Scuba, I think you're complaining over something a little bit silly. Reno drops an incredible weapon because he's kind of the first final boss of the game we've seen... so, it's relatively understandable. I highly doubt that Sandy sat there and tried to think of a way to make your weapon upgrades not matter. Merging weapons, however, is outrageously unfair. So sometimes you have to restart with another weapon? So what? Many players alternate weapons. Many alternate more than two. I alternated four for a while because some had benefits that others did not. I did suggest that we be allowed to use the honing stones. Check the QM thread for that suggestion. But essentially YOU chose to pour money into lifestealer. That's no one else's fault. So you'll end up with one weapon that steals life, and one that blinds them, but it will take to turns to use them both... and you're hastened most of the time... I actually can't see what you're complaining about...
  3. Lil' Zepher here. Certainly from this world. Love them oceans and seas. Ready and rearing to go!!
  4. Flare, run the damn round! Remember when you said you thought the quest would be a month long... and we're almost done with the first battle a month in. I hope we see the other sell-swords some other time, JimBee. I really liked them! I also like Dastan in general. I actually do intend to return there eventually, as well, and show some of the ramifications of the war. I'm glad that you picked a small conflict and not something outrageous, so that they get to enjoy peace for at least a short while. The Skeletons in 61 are perfect. Great job.
  5. Again, as a writer, that's one of my absolute favorite type of character deaths. When someone sticks with a conviction, and they're just wrong. It's literally genius writing. Even if its a bad guy and they follow a conviction to the end, even when people warn them against it, and it ends up killing them- it's perfect. Sometimes in real life people die due to ridiculous things. It makes the scene more powerful when not everything works out with obvious cause and effect, and you don't have someone to blame. You should watch Vonnegut's lecture on Hamlet, it's a very interesting critique on story. It's an awesome character choice.
  6. I actually think that would be super climactic, but maybe that's just my style of story telling. A character trusting something and then just suddenly dying because of it = perfect in my books. Yes, a HUGE number of people have gone healing advanced classes. Paladins, Shamans, Witches, the list is very high. Assassins, Hunters and Wardens are the only other ones I can think of that have more than one of each type. You can run the round too, Flare. If someone misses the 24 hour window, it's on them, not on the QM or the rest of the party.
  7. Wren was lucky last round, so Skrall only gets one roll with her. Felton also rolled twice: Chaotic Critical Hit, and Damage. I'm sorry I don't strike through, but with so many lucky heroes... I do the rounds in the old editor like thingy, because the new editor sucks, so going back and crossing out after running a round for an hour is just a pain, but I can see how it would be easy to miss sometimes. Maybe Hans didn't allow his protection to extend to Arthur because he was so displeased with him.
  8. You don't. It's almost as if the enemies specials were not helpful to you.
  9. On another note, this roll of Chaos in Eubric was a little more rewarding, but you still have yet to roll either of my two favorite possibilities.
  10. "Hahaha. Skrall, dear, you forget my plan. I don't care about bringing Chaos to Eubric. It is already here! The beauty of Chaos is everywhere. All I want, all I ask, is to see it forever. The only way to see Chaos forever is to be Goddess of it. Arthur- brace yourself. I have not ascended yet. I still feel moral... I still cling to this life... I will have to continue to feed off this temple. It holds me to my earthly bounds. You hold me to my earthly bounds. Did I not make it clear that you would all die here, or I would die here? We cannot both exit. You will all die, for one reason or another." 11. Heroes, point out that Reno has a laser eye! That should tip off the guards.
  12. I gotta say, MDM, I'm loving all of these! Very cool. The Boominham is extremely cool, though he ALWAYS has his double swords crossed on his back now, whereas he used to carry them at his side.
  13. I'll rerun those calculations... I think they're right though, because the double strike and back row would cancel each other out... right? Maybe I did spellspin wrong... You will gain the level. The Chaos Beasts will be paralyzed. Chaos in Eubric rolled both an 100 health reduction, and an 100 health regain. So they cancel each other out. It was noted.
  14. I don't mind that Arthur is taking is stand, Flipz. It's in character. But everyone else turning on him is... in their characters. So, everyone should stop complaining. Flipz is doing stuff in character. Everyone else is doing stuff in character. No one has a right to say anything about it when that happens in an RPG.
  15. Some people are leaving for the next ten or so hours and wanted to get the round out now as opposed to then. Sorry.
  16. If you want to retcon your hit and pass it along to someone else that you would have targeted, I trust you'll be honest! And yes, 24 hour rule.
  17. I hope Guts becomes the new Bonapartes, drops out of Heroica, and we have to start doing quests for him. That would be awesome. Also, you goes got literally the most boring rolls of Chaos in Eubric... just wait for next round.
  18. Phil lunges at Arthur, and Hans turns his sword on him as well. It is Felton who grabs them by the shoulder and holds them back. "Leave him," he says. "You're lucky we have bigger fish to cook," says Phil, turning on the enemies once more. "You've forgotten what honor and camaraderie are, or you never knew in the first place." 19. OoC: The round is ready to be run when Nyx checks in! If she doesn't in a few hours, I'll run it without her.
  20. Sorry, sometimes I think I've posted and I haven't. Boomingham rubs his forehead and gives healing Nagure another shot.
  21. Wren has a goal. If different heroes and players want to interpret it differently, that's okay with me. Again, like real people, the characters and players may all have different ways of viewing it. I know what Wren's goal is, plain and simple, but I don't feel the need to explain it any further than I have. Everyone can feel differently about it and understand it differently.
  22. I'm so embarrassed that Corny found out about Carp Et before he was revealed. I thought everyone was going to be surprised.
  23. Absolutely. The Wren story, even with all of its thoughts and thinking, really boils down to some goodies beating a baddie. I just tried to make it a baddie that was worth listening to from time to time!
  24. Just wait and see if you don't roll shield in the first two rounds. I also gave you an incredible opportunity that you missed. you could have favored "floor" and "goddess" types at the end of this quest. Eh, that's for you to figure out. But on a more serious note: yes, this. Phoenix Essences, Vipera can help, and a Phoenix Incense is essentially starting the battle back over, so as long as Cronk doesn't go down, you've got two shots at this. Perhaps you're right. You will be getting double exp. from this battle, so in many ways its treated as two separate ones, just without a chance to heal/use items in between. People have philosophies. They have ideals and morals. But people have conflicting versions of those all the time. Wren cares about passion, she cares about people, she cares about beauty, she cares about living forever, she cares about power, she cares about a fair fight, etc. etc. etc. She has lots of opinions on things, and you don't always know which way she'll sway. Just like... real people !! People aren't consistent, and you can't understand them all the time. They do some things you'd absolutely expect, and some things you wouldn't. You can't really understand Wren and all that she does. Sometimes she adheres to her morals perfectly, sometimes not at all. She might just have good and bad days. Who knows!
  25. Sorry, I failed to record the hastened so assumed you could only lose one thing. It will be fixed in the next round!
