  1. They all have perma-KO on. Except maybe one or two of them. It's the bloody conclusion I wanted anyway, caused by the mechanics that were outlined. Most heroes don't have perma-KO on, so if you want to save NPCs, save them. If not, then don't.
  2. "Felton was right. We end this now or else the Beasts will become too much. Atramor spoke of not expecting to make it all out. I think we must embrace that and plunge forward. All or nothing."
  3. Yeah, my NPCs are certainly dying with the series now. Maybe its for the best.
  4. I haven't done a count of the Phoenix Essences... but you guys may have to make a few tough choices...
  5. I'd love to go on a quest with you, I'm sure you'd run a fast paced quest!! I'll see when Flare lets us out. I REALLY want to go on another Sandy quest at some point in the near future too.
  6. Party damaging party doesn't take into effect row.
  7. The mirror should actually technically damage the party. When the enemy heals themselves, the party heals itself, so it stands to reason that when the enemies hurt themselves, so do the party. I will take SP into account, which I don't do for the enemies, but a number of you will still be KO'd, so please review your plan this round. Sorry, but that's the rules. WBD, they were rerolled... two of them just happen to repeat...
  8. Yeah, I'm going to be a Mystic Knight at some point soon. As soon as a plot point works out. I need a big ground breaking quest. I love the little quests, but haven't ever had a big life changing experience except a little bit with Bluehood. Boomingham needs to go on a war quest, paladin quest, or a main storyline quest with a big choice in it.
  9. Boomingham sighs. Too late to play cards, he figures. "Another rum for me, please," says Boomingham, tossing down the 11 coins required. "Yeti, you cost me the coin I could have won playing cards. I expect to get some of that back. I have no interest in the potions or bones or helmet, pure gold only for me, and as much of it as you can spare."
  10. Sandy and Flare both did some sort of bunny killer thing.
  11. OoC: Generally effects like burned, poisoned and deadly poisoned continue to deal damage while Angel is up. I'm fairly sure. They can't be received, but they continue to function normally. Correct me if I'm wrong, Sandy. 12. Yes, and your natural respite better have very specific explanations of why it works so well every time from here on in. I'm not trying to harp on the one occurrence, or that one job trait, or you in any way. I think we all as QMs need to be more allowing of the use of job traits, and less allowing of the use of things that aren't job traits. It's just my two cents.
  13. Incorrect, because knife throwing is not your job trait. Using magic outside battles is a mage's. And I think it is creative, considering no one else had tried it before or since. Not saying we should have circumvented the battle, but a nice burned effect on the Orcs perhaps would have made it fair and would have encouraged the use of the job trait, as opposed to just saying "I don't think this is creative enough." Enemy unable to attack for the first round. Damage, special damages and free hits negated. Exactly, I would allow for that too, assuming someone used the job traits BUILT INTO THE GAME to accomplish it. Next time you try to flee a battle, Guts (not the he would try OR need to, damn bad@ss power machine ) I'm going to say that you didn't try to flee creatively enough.
  14. It's using a job trait and the location. I'd say it was creative enough. What was your creative solution for it not working again? It missed, right? It was just the first scenario that flew to mind, I meant no personal offense, though I still do believe it should have worked and could have been an awesome scene. I myself fail often to make allowances for the use of job traits and clever solutions. Reading back I sometimes feel guilty. A danger too is allowing for ridiculous situations. Heroes shouldn't be able to do superhero things to solve situations, or call on things that are not within their normal powers in the game. But a mage setting fire to incoming boats, or a ranger (for example) talking to a pictured bird and asking it to check out the enemy's stats before a battle, or people rigging and dropping a smoke bomb to give enemies the blinded effect- those should all work. I guess its why we have different QMs. Some want to see creative use of those job traits that Sandy created, and some don't. Rogues, Clerics and Barbarians have intrinsically better job traits, because they work automatically, while the other ones are up to interpretation and therefore used hardly at all, because most QMs don't allow for good results with them.
  15. I think that we will do cross-overs at some point again. I no longer live with my Lego anymore, which is the only thing stopping me, but I do have a few QMs I'd consider asking to work with me on a long-form quest, and a few ideas floating around. I have a very specific one that I'd want to do, that would work very well, but I need specific QMs and a specific area... and the time and Lego... But yes, Dastan was one of the most fun experiences I had as a QM. I loved being part of it. We got to really explore a whole country in culture in just 3 months. I feel like we really know Dastan now. I have some very specific things associated with that land when I think of it. It's a real setting now.
  16. Players often want the loot/exp. If we offered exp. for solving problems creatively, that may be more incentive for using job traits. I often take job traits into consideration... specifically Diplomacy, because I have it myself. Creative solutions are supported by me as a QM, I'm actually surprised how little my players attempt it. Most recently Nyx tried to confuse the Chaos Beasts, and it paid off. In other quests I would have also been supportive of creative solutions. For example: when Nyx tried to set the boat of Orcs on fire in Quest 40... if I had been QMing, that would have at least damaged them pretty badly. I know too, for example, that in the end of the Dastan trilogy a number of enemies entered damaged because the players somehow damaged them before hand. Point is, if people use job traits, I'd be more than willing to take them into consideration. Maybe not in the boss battle, but certainly other than that. For that reason Quest 53 has been harder, because I didn't want to circumvent any of the big battles. Just wait until other quests, and then get creative.
  17. I have raised suspicious. I spoke out against Redblade and Piratedave, as well as Nightshroud. They both responded to the accusations. I don't want to be the only one who says anything. I want to hear what someone, anyone else, has to say.
  18. Boomingham redirects his attack at Orcie this time around as Barty zips around in front of the party, ready to absorb any attack. "Sancho, go buy a drink and I'll join you shortly. I'd say you should lend a hand, but we're almost done here as it is."

  20. They don't exist yet, and may never. So... maybe. They were just an idea being thrown around. In all honesty, no one has tried playing a base class at level 30 yet, and I think we'd need to see how that worked/if there was a significant gap before coming up with a new set of classes. Advanced classes work pretty well for most base classes, actually: Knights who want to be better knights are paladins, clerics become druids, Rogues become assassins (or raiders). The only ones who don't have a logical progression are rangers, mages and barbarians, who all give up their AoE shields in advanced classes... but if they want to, they could still play basic at level 30. A level 30 mage, for example, would still pack a punch.
  21. I am town. Worth trying. Not much else to say. Still waiting on anyone to come forth with other accusations. Even if not for today, something so we can hit the ground running tomorrow.
  22. I did accuse others. Today and yesterday. Since you seem unwilling to share your suspicions even... Vote: Lil' Scouty (Scouty). This vote is subject to change. You seem genuinely unaware that there are two scum teams... which again looks like ignorance, and not a scum tell. But we have no other leads. So give us some. Or someone else give us one. Is ANYONE pinging ANYONE ELSE'S radar. Please, please, please speak up. Redblade, you've been fluffy all game. Who has been pinging YOUR scumdar? Lil' Nightshroud pinged for the same reason Lil' Pal said, and he has seemed particularly jump on what everyone else is saying... esque. I'm going to return to my lunar-sphere now. By which I mean my desk.
  23. Backbreaker doesn't cost ether, but yes, you're safe from both it and enraged!
  24. I don't know if anyone wants to use the round to heal, just in case it ISN'T the final round.
  25. That's why I said for once you got lucky! When you guys are lucky, you get terrible rolls, when your enemy is lucky, you guys get pretty good rolls. I said the exact opposite of that in the discussion thread... you do not get them back.
