  1. I'm inclined to direct you to this. I was wrong. The scum and I both don't know if I'm recruitable. In fact, EVERY town member can be recruited to the masons. Or did your non-town PM not come with a similar advisory that both sides might be looking into you, because the scum wouldn't need to be looking into you? And Cecile, similar question.
  2. Just confused, actually. Classic werewolf reading of the role PM. I also went and reread that thread, and was confused when def said that in thread. My PM says that I can be recruited to the masons or scum, but that may just be (and now I believe that it most certainly IS) indicating that like everyone I am unsure if I'm recruitable or not. It was only rereading that post by def that made me realize what the "may" in the phrasing meant. I'm just a Lil' Earthling. Sometimes I make mistakes. But it's still interesting to see who pounced on it, and accused me when the worst I was implying was that I could possibly be recruited.
  3. Please remember, returning it will not get you your twin broadswords back. But if you're being noble, good for you! I just want to make sure you got what's going on.
  4. And why, pray tell. State a case. That mumber is six. And I didn't encourage anyone to die. As far as I know, no one can commit suicide in these games. I was putting out thoughts. Statistically speaking, it is better for the town if the recruitable players are killed as opposed to recruited, not killed in general.
  5. OoC: I'm sorry, those weapons shouldn't be switched back, I did that before I saw that MDM cancelled his action.
  6. "I am not suggesting a full frontal assault. But we must begin to fight her, or she will continue to spawn Chaos Beasts and continue to grow stronger herself. Skrall alone cannot defeat her."
  7. Yes, all us Earthlings talk about being Earthlings all the time... right? I love being an Earthling. I hate being a werewolf. Not that I am one... I'm sorry I didn't end up getting in my vote for mayor. I wasn't busy being on the moon, but was instead doing something very normal. But it seems that my vote wouldn't have done much anyway! Congrats Lil' Corn on a moon rock slide victory. Or Earth slide victory. Rockslide victory? Now, that being said - yes, little Kiel is sticking his neck out, and I'll make the tried and trued statement I feel I always make: scum wouldn't be obvious on Day 1. They have no reason to draw attention to themselves yet, unless its an elaborate gambit. And in my expert experience, it has never been an elaborate gambit. So, I don't intend to vote for him. At least for today. I also don't find Corny particularly suspect. My guess is that he is town, and that he also cannot be converted. It would be a little irresponsible for a town member who was convertible to run for mayor. I doubt he's scum as well, because the position of mayor draws a lot of attention and has practically no pay-off. That being said... I hate first day lynches. No one strikes me as particularly scummy. I, as always, suggest we find someone hiding around doing nothing. Scum lay low, particularly in the beginning when there's so much confusion anyway. We have a good chance of finding at least one in the "non-talkers", and if we lynch a non-talking townie, they were hardly helping anyway. Final note of interest/thought on my mind: those of us who are convertible, whoever we may be, should not be afraid of a lynch or a night kill. If the scum are unable to recruit you, you are helping the town- that includes dying (it is better, number-wise, to be dead than converted). So those who can be converted should play a game particularly unafraid of death. I, as always, expect everyone to talk lots so we have ideas coming in, but convertibles should both not be afraid of death, and NOT be a part of the major town block unless you're already masoned. As long as you're town and you know you're convertible, you should attempt to learn as few actions as possible so if/when you're converted, you have nothing to offer the scum. Until you are (potentially) converted, you are on OUR team, so play it smart. So, who are we going to start pointing fingers at? GRRRRR. I miss the moon .
  8. OoC: Sorry for the wait all. This day has been in every way too long. Good, but far too long. Going on 32 hours without sleep. Tried to incorporate some role playing into the results, but didn't want to screw the mechanics too much. Also unsure why Skrall is listed twice... is he hastened and I missed it? Skrall, you usually stick pretty close to my NPCs. But Hans would never say daft, and Felton would strategize, not him. You get confused by them, I know. Finally, trading weapons technically takes one turn each, so that should use both of both of Haldor and Hoke's turns (one turn giving each, one turn retrieving each). I will be nice this time, but will not in the future. You did not go with this plan. Consider this in the future if you switch back! That's because your character trusted the wrong person. It did a thing for Arthur, just not the thing you wanted to happen. It's almost as if you play this game with other players. "Perhaps she is not the goddess she believes herself to be." Nyx lobs a bomb at the heroes... for some reason... and Cronk's angel blocks it! The blow back hurts both her and the Chaos Beasts. Hoke grapples with Wren, who shrugs him off. He is able to pull off some of her armor, but it disintegrates in his hands. Nyx's orders seem to confuse the monsters of Chaos, who stumble over each other. Though they do some damage to each other, it is unlikely they will make the same mistake again. "I am not that easily led astray, dear Cronk. I had wished you'd have more respect for my fortitude." "Heroes, we must strike at her, or this battle will never end."
  9. OoC: I should gain 10 gold because of my Tome. "No adventure in you, Sorrow? Buy the venom, why don't you. And, while you're at it, and if you're feeling generous, I'd love to get my hands on a Sapphire. I'll pay you back once we find the little tyke."
  10. I am very sorry everyone. I'm just outrageously busy right now. The round will have to be run in about 12 hours from now. The quest might be a little touch and go until Sunday too, I have family visits to make and then a long long trek back to school. I always feel bad putting quests on pause, but I really just don't have time right now.
  11. Oh my you- er- we Earthlings sure do talk a lot! Hi all, sorry, I was just checking my own totally human @ss to make sure that it wasn't about to explode! So, about mayor. I am of a like mind as some of you Earthlings.... some of my fellow Earthings... in that the mayor vote the first day is kind of a shot in the dark, much like any vote on the first day. I'll save my vote for mayor just in case I see a real need to use it later, but right now I'm inclined to vote for Lil' Kiel, because while we all know it's a very dangerous position, he seems to think it's not. So, let's let him test it out! It's also unfortunate that we lose the irony of Lil' Big Cam so early in the school day. Lil' Big. So sad.
  12. I understand the complaints. I'm not budging. I promise it will be consistent whenever this happens. Use this round to figure out how it works, and then EVERY OTHER ROUND, you will NOT BE IN THE DARK. Once you learn something, it will not change. Figuring out a mechanic may not be your cup of tea. But it is some people's. They will have fun this round, then you will have fun in following ones when you can strategize knowing how this particular scenario plays out. I will not comment on the mechanic again in thread or in the Quest thread. It's not changing. I will, as always, publish my entire outline when we're done. Nothing is made up. Everything is pre-planned. EDIT: Another busy night, but the round will be run at some point! So make you you have actions you're happy with. I'm also not trying to tick anyone off, but changing my plan for the battle now WOULD be unfair, and I have no intention of doing it. You can complain all you want (not that I view you as real complainers, I know we're all a big loving family and I do not mean that in a sarcastic way) but it's not changing, so deal.
  13. Believe it or not (I'm not sure my players do) the Chaos in Eubric specials on rolls were thought out before the quest. But I promise to take you on a wonky quest if you sign up! I'm thinking up two with strange mechanics for this summer I'm sure you'd enjoy.

  14. Figure it out. I can promise you that it will be consistent after this. So use this round to discover how it works, and after that every time it returns, it will be the same, and you'll know what to do.
  15. Experimentation is your way to any and all answers. Consider yourselves brave explorers on the sea of knowledge. Boldly knowing what no man has known before.
  16. Boomingham raises an eyebrow. "Seems you know a good number of people in the city, Sancho," he says. "Introduce us to your friends. Can never hurt to have more of them."
  17. That's right. If you don't get what's going on, you'll be in serious trouble. Luckily, you can't be harmed this round. And you have about twenty moves to figure out what's going on. So experiment. It should take maybe six of your moves tops, potentially as low as two, and then you'll know for the rest of the battle. And you can't be harmed this round... so, really, you got this at the best time possible. EDIT: I take that back. It will take you ONE move to figure out what's going on. You guys are pretty smart. Don't worry so much and enjoy the game. Figure out the new game mechanic.
  18. You'll have to find everything out! Smoke Bomb is pretty much the only thing I don't know how it will operate... that would be... interesting? Wait for your fellow quest mates to come online, brain storm with them!
  19. I guess you'll just have to try stuff. But yes, Nyx DOES get an action. That part is pretty important to know. I love when people reference past events. Points for Rumble Strike. Always points for Rumble Strike.
  20. Now you rolled one of my favorite two Chaos in Eubric specials!
  21. "We need to kill the damned raven's head." "You mean snake. But he is right, heroes. Perhaps not this round, but soon we must all assault Wren or she will only grow more and more powerful. It is dangerous, but I see no other way. She is only distracting us with her minions. Heal up this round, take out the riff raff, and then we must strike at the heart of the darkness." 22. OoC: Just my busy day. I actually weirdly thought of that as I was falling asleep last night, WBD, but forgot by the morning. The damage will be reflected this time. Round will be up in an hour! WBD! Zoot darn it all, you can tell Felton and Hans apart. They've got their names right there! You've gotta be doing it to bother me.
  23. Technically, all elements damage the undead. And you can see Barty, though when he whispers you might not see him. As the first Paladin, I made the choice, prompted by Sandy, to have Barty physically present always. Other Paladins treat it differently. "Well, Sancho, looks like you may have led us the wrong way, though there was indeed a Frog. Shall we back track and try again?"
  24. I'd actually like to say amend my statement: While I don't 100% see the issue Scuba does, I think it DOES have merit. As heroes have upped their levels, WP has not- or at least not at the same rate. I think we forget that. The average for MOST heroes of level 20, when WP is concerned, is actually 10-14ish, even though it seems WP would be similar to their level. So I guess in some regards, Scuba is right. If you want to give someone levels 20-25 a WP upgrade in a drop, but not go overboard, the WP should be around maybe 12-16, not higher than that. It IS something to think about, and I DO think that we've as a whole been giving out too many powerful drops. Scuba, I thought you were wrong, and I don't think it's as bad as you phrased it at first, but I also think I just misread what you said a bit, and I DO agree with you.
  25. OoC: Barty, unlike other angels, doesn't poof away. He's here to stay. I should also gain 10 gold from the battle. "He's right, he did introduce himself. But you were still sobering up, so I imagine its hard to remember," Barty needles in Boomingham's ear. "Sorry, chap, in the heat of battle I generally call out what comes to mind. Mage, elf, whatever it may be where I can bark out quick orders that I think need to happen." Boomingham shrugs. "It wasn't a race thing, I don't mind elves too much myself." Boomingham turns to the Yeti. "Alright, big boy. I'd like to get my hands on two of those Deadly Venoms. Nothing much else appeals to me- I've got bones to spare, and I'm wearing more than enough even without those shackles."
