Yes, that was the ruling.

[interlude] "Oh finally, an interlude," says someone. "Alright, time to get talking! What's with the lack of scenery, and why are we planting a garden? What the hell is the theme of this game, anyway?" asks the Cop accusatorially. "Well, I'm glad you asked," answers Zepher. "Since we are on the infinite Mafia Plane, and the other host died before he could pick a theme, there is nothing here! This is the base level of a Mafia Game. The host generally picks a theme, and then the appropriate buildings and scenery pop up." "So what's with the garden?" "Well, we don't have a theme yet, but I wanted to get to work, so I picked a garden. Gardens are in every Mafia game. The Baritones, Witch Hunt, Mystery Castle, Eurodina, etc. A garden is always a safe bet." "But what about sci-fi ones?" "Shut up." "I don't understand how bushes can grow on off-white carpet." "This theme is still kind of confusing. I think Zepher was just being lazy. Kill me!" "Look guys, this is sort of like hair!" Vote Count: The Serial Killer (Walter Kovacs): 2 (mostlytechnic, jamesn) The Treestump (Adam): 1 (LegoDad) The Snake Charmer (DarthPotato): 1 (Rufus) Rufus, you technically formatted your vote wrong. I counted it, but this is the groups one collective warning. The day will end in 27 hours. I will be at work tomorrow, and unable to close the thread at the exact right time. Your pill results will be coming in in about three hours. My secondary job just called, and asked if I wouldn't mind coming in.

Heroica RPG- Quest #68: A Night at the Theatre
Zepher replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
The soldier totally ignores Ellaria, and continues to stare in the hero's direction. The heroes seem to know what they were doing, but are they bold enough to go ahead and play their part? (Please bold your successor, King ) . -

"Voting is now open. It is an hour early, but I have to go to work." "Where's that interlude?" snarls a passerby. "Didn't you hear him say that he had to go to work? I'm sure it's coming later!" says someone else gleefully. "Where does a werewolf work?" asks someone else. "Everyone be quiet. The interlude will come when it comes. Damn other hosts, spoiling you with comics. There used to be no such thing as an interlude. Remember, the person with the most votes in ~48 hours will be lynched. If there is no lynch, I'll eat one of you at random."

Tanma, in response to your Dastan Question: I'm sure neither BD, JimBee nor I would mind as long as you generally respect what we've established, which everyone does in this game anyway, so of course go to Dastan!

There has been confusion in the past (not changes, just confusion) but luckily I remembered the most recent ruling reminder/clarification.

The characters mill around in generally disappointing silence for some reason. The Usurper, Serious Roleplayer, Black-Out Night Action Dude and Role Cop all play some card game that only requires four cards total. The Blacked-Out Night Action Dude is exceedingly hard for the others to read. The Serious Roleplayer keeps glancing over at the Role Cop's telescope. "That's a kind of an inappropriate prop for the Role Cop to have anyway," the Roleplayer mumbles under his breath. The Treestump quietly looks on in deep sadness. He knows that table was once one of his brothers. The PGO and Virgin stare off into the distance when they see a man approaching. "Should I shoot him?!" asks the PGO. "No," says Zepher, who is by some trick of magic or something, suddenly behind them. "That's the pill man!" "That's a weird outfit for a pill doling character," says the Virgin. "Why is your carpet off white?" asks someone. "You still haven't explained the lack of scenery," someone else says. "Is there even a theme?"asks a third someone, "or are you just being lazy?" "Silence!" says the Pill Man. "Here is how Pills work." 1) First come, first serve - whoever claims a pill first, gets it. Bold your selection in your post. If someone asks for the pill you want before you, too bad. 2) You will find out what your pill does at the 48 hour mark. You make pick pills up until then. Pills are not optional. 3) Your pill dies with you. Except the God Pill. 4) You may NOT pick the same pill two days in a row. Sorry. The Pills 1) Hunter’s Pill 2) Light saber Pill 3) Big Red Science Pill 4) Infectious Pill 5) Magical Pill 6) Cursed Pill 7) Alto Pill 8) Pill of Valhalla 9) Riot Pill 10) Pill of Insanity 11) Mystery Pill 12) Mystical Pill 13) Bobblyhead Pill 14) Heart Medication 15) Old Fashion Pill 16) Pill of Paradise 17) Rum 18) A Pearl 19) Deep Space Pill 20) The Royalty Pill 21) Fairy Tale Pill 22) Pill from the Dickhead Galaxy 23) Pill from the ZubZub System

I finally went down the fox-hole, and have a few suggestions: Skrall: Working Class Hero MOR/The Regret (Second one more so): I Know What You Fear Ether/Spirit Pools: Power Source Baba/Poletad: Break-Out Character Wren: Through the Eyes of Madness Nyx (with Healing Staff): Healing Shiv Tarn/Thothwick: Token Good Teammate Guts/Atrmor/Althior (?)/MANY OTHERS (sound off!)/Maybe Boomers decently (is there a version for good at drinking, but still drinks too much?): Never Gets Drunk Quest 11/Quest 62/Quest 18: Hostile Weather Ella (different than her current one, but better in my opinion): Mystical Waif Russel/Pigley/Frog Paladins: Lions and Tigers and Humans Stirlance: Shakespeare in Fiction I don't know if they're all perfect/have better equivalents.

I'd love to grab some overkill gloves. But they'd replace counterstrike, and I'm reliant on it now. Besides, I'd have to make the money to buy them. And who has that sort of money? I'd love to see a TvTropes page for Boomingham. I want to know what TVtropes people think he embodies. The page is really turning me onto tropes, but I don't feel I'm savvy enough to put them up yet. I do love reading them though!!

That's true, I suppose. They do get lots of other big perks, however. Black Knight seems the only class that doesn't really retain any of the great skills of rogues OR knights. But I guess they do get throwing weapons and SP, so that's something.
-
I'd have to agree. I think that's what makes rogues rogues. And it's unfortunate that I am the ONLY base class that CAN'T advance into making gold.

Mafia Mafia - Confirmation and Discussion
Zepher replied to Zepher's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thank you, Cult Leader!! It has been fixed. That's what I get for copy and pasting. If there are ever any discrepancies, follow what it says below "The Design", and point it out here. -
The fledgeling sun rises on the infinite Mafialand plane. 23 figures stand in the middle of nowhere, waiting for their host. And suddenly, with a flash of light, he is there. "Hello," growls Zepher. "Oh, I get it, he's a werewolf!" shouts someone. "Now it won't be fun to tease him about it anymore!" shouts someone else. "Yeah, you suck!" shouts a third person. "Where the hell is the scenery?" cries person number four. "Think of the children!" screams person the fifth. "Shut your idiot mouths," says Zepher. "I need to say some exposition." "Okay," says person #3. "Why does person #3 get two lines?" asks person 6. "As you know, the scum have gotten tired of playing mafia after mafia. So, when a new host came here to harvest some roles for a new game, the scum killed him." "Booooooooo," hisses the town and the scum and the SK (the last two trying to cover their tracks). "We love Mafia!" "Don't we all. Here is the skull of your previous host." "Look at that evil smile, clearly he was a Mafia host. Because he was evil," jokes someone. "Down to his very bones!" says someone else. "Where'd all his skin go?" asks a concerned third person. Zepher licks his lips. "No matter." "Since you're all attuned to Mafia, I figured we'd catch the scum by playing Mafia." "That's a kind of lazy explanation." "Anyway, you all know the rules, but they're listed below. The pill cart will come around sooner or later. Have fun." "You never explained the lack of scenery!" someone points out. "I'll explain that later. Need to leave something for the interludes." "There will be interludes?" "Maybe." The Rules 1 Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Scum. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum and the SK, while the Scum must outnumber the Town. Any Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined below. 2 Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. The player with the most lynches will be lynched. You may only unvote once a day. 3 A game day will last for about 72 hours. Whoever has the most votes at the end of the day will be lynched. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. After the day has concluded, a night phase will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night phase. 4 The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5 You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game host. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage, as they are all exactly the same. 6 You may not quote PMs from or to other players. This will result in a 5-vote penalty the same day, and a 5-vote penalty the next. (What can I say, I liked this rule!) 7 Do not play the game outside the day-thread and PMs. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread; you must always play the role given to you. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 8 If you are dead, your game is over. You may not comment on the game to any living or dead players in any form. You are considered dead once you are a) confirmed lynched by the host, or b) announced dead in the morning. This includes posting, private messaging, direct chat, email or any other form of online or offline communication. Any information you had becomes void and may not be passed on. The same applies for living players making contact with those who are no longer playing, no matter what the stated purpose. Both situations can appear to be an attempt to gain information or cause influence that would be unfair to the remaining living players. Whether you are still playing or have already died, if you are contacted inappropriately, please notify the host immediately. Violation of this rule will result in instant mod-kill and probably something worse after the game. 9 You may not edit your posts. Editing your post will result in a 2-vote penalty. This is your only warning. 10 You must post in every Day Thread. Failure to do so will result in a 10-vote penalty at the start of the next day. 11 These rules will change during the game as a game mechanic. Pay close attention. Any and all changes will be struck through, with the new rule in bold. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host using your role PM. All other forms of communications will be ignored. THE DESIGN 23 Players 16 Town - 6 Scum - 1 SK The Day 24 Hour Safe Period - 48 Hour Voting Period - 48 Hour Night Period (With a full exciting 24 hour period to submit night actions!) Some time before the 24 Hour Mark, the Pill Cart will be rolled out. The time will be randomized each day, to be fair to timezones. The time will be chosen by Random.org. The Pills will effect that night or the following day. The Pills "God Pill" (Effect the following day, will not be removed from play) - 2 Uppers (Night action may be used twice) - 2 Lifesavers (Will be safe from a kill that night) - 16 Placebos (No Effect) - 2 Downers (Night action may not be performed) -If a person holding a pill is lynched or killed, the pill is removed from play- The Night Actions Town and Scum have NEARLY IDENTICAL ROLES with only a few tweaks to change for their sides. JOAT Town: Investigator/Protector Scum: Framer (2 Shot)/Protector/Janitor (1 Shot) Role Cop Killer Blocker Inventor Can invent a net (blocker), shield (protector), magnifying glass (investigation), or pistol (kill action). Bulletproof. Inscrutable (all investigation attempts including role cop will come up as "unsuccessful"). The inventor may either gift his invention, or create a new one, he may not do both on the same night. Universal Back-Up -When a scum with an action dies, the scum team may choose to drop an action and retain the one they would have lost.- -The Pill Cart will come in the first 24 hours at different times each day, decided by Random.Org. You post IN THREAD which pill you will be taking that day. It is first come, first serve.- Serial Killer Bulletproof. Hard to Read (If an investigator investigates him, the result will be "unsuccessful", but a role cop will receive the result of "killer".). Killer Role PM's Town: Character - Town - Night Action(s) Scum: Character - Scum - Night Action(s) - List of Fellow Scum's Names SK: Character - SK - Night Actions Win Conditions Town: Kill the Scum + SK Scum: Outnumber the Town + SK SK: Two other players alive, with no other win conditions met. THE CAST (In the Order I thought them up) (Please remember, with the system being totally random, the characters have nothing to do with affiliation/NA) Zepher/The Host (Zepher) - Your lovely and hungry host. The Night Action Blacked-Out Dude (Bob) - A fiend in the evening. The Role Cop (KielDaMan) - Watches you while you don't sleep. The Godfather (Kadabra) - Doesn't he look like a pretty normal dude? Just wearing a track suit or something. Clearly not a mob boss. The Cult Leader (Rufus) - Rather mysterious. The Cultist (Fred Daniel Yam) - Rather less mysterious. The Serious Roleplayer (Tamamono) - By day he may be a construction worker, but in his heart, he's a pirate. The NPC (Esurient) - Not a player. Seriously, look, he's clearly not supposed to be voted for. Not a player. Maybe we should vote for him. The Doctor (Piratedave84) - Damn it, Jim, I'm not a Doctor! The Jester (CallMePie) - My role never serves any purpose! The Cop (def) - Doesn't mess around. The Goon (fhommess) - Grrrrr. The Male Lover (LegoDad) - Works at a Pizza Shop! Loves his wife. Might die without her. The Female Lover (Hinckley) - Works as a telemarketer. Loves her husband. Might die without him. The Vanilla Townie (Kristel) - His favorite flavor of ice cream is ironically chocolate. The Serial Killer (Walter Kovacs) - I'm murdering them all because they're different than me. The PGO (Purpearljellyblob) - Serving some time for accidentally shooting all of his neighbors. The Witch (Waterbrick Down) - Pretty sure that everyone else is also witches. The Usurper (TrumpetKing) - Only dresses like you because he admires you, not because he wants to be you! The Treestump (Adam) - Has very little to say. Don't stand too closely. He may explode. The Snake Charmer (Darth Potato) - Every town has a snake charmer. Didn't you know that? The Talking Animal (mostlytechnic) - A staple of every normal society. Range from camels to Fabuland critters to this thing. The Virgin (Clanure) - Don't f*ck with him. First Day Lynch (Jamesn) - I'm neW @round h3r3!!!!!!! i hope w3 @LL get along !!!!!!!

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Zepher replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Yes, sorry. I meant 1/3. The issue was that I was a 1/2 before this battle... but I think I just forgot to delete the 1/2 when updating my statistics page, which is why it was wonky. This one is totally on me.
