  1. People, please! This is the Black Market, it's not "The Price is Right". The prices asked by the dealer are not definite values of said items. Sorry you can't all be in the quest, but please stop acting as if you are. Sarge and Eric are not your mules.
  2. "Very well, we shall go meet Chief Kulbin next. Thank you for all your advice, Madam Meladonna."
  3. "Getting greedy, are we? Nothing wrong with a little greed, if you have the gold to satiate it. An Amethyst - or any other gem - will cost you 150 gold. You can get them cheaper from Nemeshtar's magic shop at the Slums, though. A Grating Stone or a Bright Polish will cost 150 gold, as well. Overkill Gloves come at an overkill price of 1000 gold. A Scroll of Nimbleness or something like that would cost 300 gold. The question remains, how rich are you?" The Black Market dealer accepted the 50 gold. "Raw Meat would be 500 gold, as well. Unless you want to try your chances with the meat that Kabob sells here during the day." The blue knight squinted his eyes. "Hmm... Now that I look at you closer, I see a fellow knight in you. You just read my mind, anyway, for there is one issue you could help us with." Discovered a new subquest! Pot Calling Kettle Black Assignment: “One of our members, the Black Scorpion Knight, is out drinking and gambling again. He is bringing shame to the whole guard, and we are afraid we have to banish him soon if he continues to disobey. If you could somehow persuade him to quit the habit and return to his duty, we would be spared a lot of trouble.” ~Azure Eagle Knight of the Royal Rainbow Guard Reward: “If you help our order, we can arrange you a meeting with the Almagesta herself.” QM Note: Last I checked, telepathy wasn't one of Sorcerer's job traits. If it wasn't clear before, you can opt to spend time within a region doing nothing, if you want to progress time without having to move elsewhere. This might come in handy if you want to coordinate your reunion. Heckz, Periwinkle and Phred left the Menagerie and headed towards the seashore, where the Amenra Beach Resort rose. It was easy to find, since it was the only building in sight. They made it all the way to the door before they were stopped by an Anubian bouncer. "Hold your seahorses! This establishment does not serve common beach bums. We have nobility and celebrities visiting all over the world, they do not want to mingle with riff-raff." "This is so lame! Can we go kill some phiends now, mister?" Entry to Amenra Beach Resort requires 3 influence! Location: Amenra Beach Resort, Luxor Dunes Time: Evening of the First Day Influence: 2 Subquests:
  4. "Thank you, but I think we are done here. We will be in touch about the merchandise, but for now we have to visit the town's mayor, or council, or elders, or what have you got." Ellaria motioned for her companions that they should head back out.
  5. The red and the blue knight looked at each other. "It is our sword duty to guard Her Majesty the Almagesta - day and night. A duty someone has forlorn..." "Let us not get into that, brother. What comes to the guests of Her Majesty the Almagesta, I unfortunately cannot pass any knowledge of them to just any layman walking past the gate." "Do we look like messengers to you, anyway?" "Her Majesty the Almagesta is extremely busy. Audiences with Her are not granted to just anyone. You will most likely have to wait for an invitation." Invitation to the Palace requires 15 influence. "A letter of recommendation? Who do you want to recommend what? I can arrange a forged letter if you provide the details, but it costs you 500 gold."
  6. I guess I should pull Sylph out of the Archives, then. Great to have you back!
  7. You're not Guts, you don't have the gold for it.
  8. "The mask is easy, I can get you one for 50 gold. The Loaded Die is trickier, it'll cost you 1000 gold. The prices are not negotiable."
  9. That's odd. Be sure to put the head into a minidoll body - the neck will keep the head in place - and then tilt the hat from the braid.
  10. Loving these! Fantasy and RPGs have so many funny tropes, and illustrating them with LEGO makes them even funnier.
  11. They're actually called "signature minifigs", or sigfigs for short. Selfies are those pictures you take of yourself with a phone. As a minifig collector, I am definitely looking forward to seeing more racially diverse minifigs in the future, too. Especially women of color are severely underrepresented in western pop culture and media. Stass Allie and Storm are a great start as minifigs go, and we have several women of color in the minidoll side, but we need more. I need more!
  12. "That's not how this works, foreigner. You ask, I provide. It'll take me a day to get you what you want, but you will get it - if we can agree on the price. What can I get you?"
  13. Night had fallen upon them as Sarge and Eric reached the Souk. All the merchants had left to their beds to return in the morning. Only a silent man in a skull mask skulked in the shadows, staring keenly at the pair of heroes. Location: The Souk Time: Midnight of the First Day Influence: 2 Subquests:
  14. "With all due respect, I have not uttered a single word about your gods, traveller. But suit yourself. You are always welcome to return later, should the need arise." The depressed man on the floor looked up at Eric with admiration. "Wow, you must be some sort of hot shot! Surely you can help a man out?" Before Eric could say anything, the man pushed his straw hat on his hand. Straw Hat (quest item) Discovered a new subquest! Straw to Gold Assignment: “I travelled to Salmanda to find riches, but I ended up as a beggar with nothing but this straw hat. If only I could somehow turn it into gold…” ~Brown, beggar at the Sanctuary Reward: “If you really can do it, then I’ll give you half of the profit.” Party at the Sanctuary: Eric (Khorne) *Party Second-in-Command* 30 year old norseman Raider Level 27 *Natural Respite* *Evasion* *Immune to Fragile, Weakened, Asleep, Water and Earth* *Encouraged* Power: 51 (27+22+2) Defense: 5 Health: 50/50 (8+7+26+4+5) Gold: 207 Equipment: Godricsleif (WP: 22; Ice-, Lightning-, Darkness-elemental; greatsword), Pugilist's Gloves (Power +2, protects from Weakened; handwear), Heavy Armor (SP:5, protects from Fragile; bodywear), Boots of Evasion (Wearer takes half damage in front row + Immunity to Water, Earth and Asleep; footwear) Inventory: Weapons: Conspirator (WP:18, causes Blinded; longsword), Drengazuli Grom'az (WP:6; Dual Strike; axe), 6 Silverfish Wings (WP:8, retrievable, throwing dagger), 2 Diseased Silverfish Wings (WP:8, causes cursed-effect, retrievable, throwing weapon) Spell Items: Garnet (Earth) Consumables: Potion, 10 Grand Potions, Health Core, 3 Elixirs, 3 Remedies, Neutralizer, 7 Meads, 6 Smelling Salts, 3 Nostrum, 5 Mulled Wine, Ambrosia, Dragon Scale, Venom, Deadly Venom, 2 Feather of White (Allows the user to hide for up to three rounds, avoiding Free Hits. 15. "I admit we are all on the edge about who gets chosen as the next Eldest. Today narrowed the selection down to two dozen, and tomorrow will likely halve that amount. Who knows, maybe we will have the result within the week." "Ahem, let me assure you that we are a peaceful organization. We do not deal with our conflicts by... ahem, offing each other." "That's the way of you men!" "Now, what comes to your other inquiries, we cannot help you. Like you said, we are strangers in this city just as you are, and we have not seen much of it outside the Temple of Danab, yet. Sisters, let us take our leave. Mother's blessing to you, Lord Boomingham, and good night." The three women departed for the hotel.
  16. I find it funny how the Lucustoids have a different speech pattern in every quest they appear. For Quest#130 I went with WBD's quest, which featured the original Lucustoids - mostly because they are the same characters.
  17. "My apologies, but the blessing comes only those who take respite here and meditate in the silence. Shall I prepare bedrolls for you two?" Boomingham approached the congregation of Sisters near the flower arrangement. However, they were not as friendly as he expected. "You came here with Ovelia?" "Ahem, you didn't hear what we were talking about, did you? Ahem..." "Hush, you two!" snapped the werewolf. She then smiled at Boomingham - although her expression reminded more of a grimace. "I'm sorry for these two, we have had a long day behind us at the Conclave, and were just about to call it a night. These are Aunt Kree from the Rito Settlement and Aunt Dunyazah from Strivvi. I am from the far north, myself, where the Sisterhood is only now gaining foothold. You may call me Ulrica."
  18. It was night when Boomingham arrived to the better parts of the city, with the Floral Square at its center. Almagesta's Palace loomed ahead, beyond the ornate wall. The Marigold Hotel was a tall, white building to the right, while there were some boutiques to the left, all closed for the day. Only a few people remained at the square anymore, including some Sisters of Danab and a band of musicians packing up their instruments at the performance stage next to the hotel. The musicians strangely talked in unison. "Another slow evening behind us. When will we ever gain popularity? Or should we just give up?" What would Boomingham do? Location: Floral Square, Palace District Time: Midnight of the First Day Influence: 2 Subquests: The priest walked to the statue of the angel, and began recounting the angel's story - whether Eric wanted to hear it or not. "A thousand years ago, the War of the Sun and the Moon tore asunder both the earth and the heavens above. Many angels fell from Ennoc's grace during that troubled time, and Ophaniel was one of them. But he did not fall because he hated the god, no. He abandoned the heavens because he loved mortalkind too much. He could not bear to see them suffer, so he descended into the earth and began taking care of the weak and the needy. That is why Ophaniel did not turn black like the other Fallen, but he became known as the 'Grey Angel'. This Sanctuary is one of the many he founded all over the world. Where he lies now is unknown to us, but his spirit and memory linger on in this place." "These people do not need your pity or your distain, traveller. They need help. The Sanctuary provides people with basic necessities - a shelter for the night and some food given to by the charitable traders of the city. You, too, can rest here for free and depart with Ophaniel's blessing. The Sanctuary is only open from evening to the morning, though."
  19. Pfft, you'll be back in a few weeks! Glad to have had you on board, anyway!
  20. Sarge and Eric decided to check the Sanctuary next. It was a bleak, nondescript shrine where homeless beggars apparently took shelter for the night. A worn-out looking priest came to greet them. "Blessings of the Angel Ophaniel upon you. Are you here to seek a resting place or spiritual guidance?" A depressed man muttered on the floor near the priest. "You can make a fortune in Salmanda - what a load of megablocks! All I've got is this straw hat and the clothes on my back..." QM Note: I'll take you to the Palace District after work, since I need to edit some pictures first. "Any day you have the time. I will remember you. Just come between midday and evening." "Not specifically, but Basilisks dwell in the sand, while the Carcinos is a water-bound creature, and Floraphants hide in deep jungles where they blend in." "Meh, don't know and don't care."
  21. "Ah, good to hear there is interest! I will be delivering your requests to the Guild. Pray tell, are there any other merchants around the town?"
  22. Where was it announced? I couldn't find anything related to it in Google. Besides, Torchwood has never been a show for kids, or even teens. It's way too dark and gruesome for LEGO.
  23. The blue bird resisted Sarge's grasp so much it snapped its neck. At least Sarge got a meat lump out of it. The white bird let itself be caught peacefully, so it seemed that Sarge had discovered the Angel-crested Cockatoo. "Chingaling-ling!" "Yaaay! Then I can tell mommy and daddy about all the pherocious phoes I've phelled!" "Aha! Caught in the act!" Ezra summoned the ogre guard to take the two activists into custody. "Not fair! We only wanted to do the right thing!" "This place is a den of evil! They even kept my uncle Hoptet captive here a couple years back, dragged him all the way from the Mistland Jungles because they thought he was a gorilla! You should boycott this place, not endorse it!" "Yeah! And remember that fur is murder!!!" The zookeeper turned to Heckz. "Thank you, sir! Your testimony allowed us to finally catch the culprits. Master Marmaduc will be most pleased! Come back some other day, and he will meet you to thank you in person, as I promised." Subquest "Deactivating the Activists" is successful! The party's influence is increased! "Hmpf! Some hero you are, Heckz... Who knows what they will do to those poor kids!" The ginger woman watched the commotion, shaking her head. "Those poor misguided children... How else could we study these wondrous creatures up close if not by caging them? I am Professor Fauna, researcher of wildlife at the Croman University. Unfortunately, my studies have hit a dead-end..." Discovered a new subquest! Specifying the Species Assignment: “I have come to study rare animal species that have been rumored to prowl around Salmanda. However, I am still missing vital information about three beasts that live in dangerous areas. If you could procure their statistics for me, I would be able to complete my studies here.” ~Professor Fauna of the Croman University Reward: “I will give you my Scholastic Spectacles, which provide information about your foes before you engage with them.” Basilisk Carcinos Floraphant Location: Marmaduc's Menagerie, Luxor Dunes Time: Evening of the First Day Influence: 2 Subquests:
  24. Ellaria nudged Tesni, who inadvertedly had steered away from their back-up story. "She only meant that she is not a merchant, but my bodyguard. Strictly speaking, I am not here to sell anything, either, but to establish a new trade route for the latest products of the alchemist's guild. Surely you would be interested in adding new wares to your stock, Madame Meladonna?"
  25. "You're a hero, phor real? Then you can help me out! I came here to see some exciting and dangerous animals, but all I've seen are these dull slackers. I want to see some monsters in real action!" Discovered a new subquest! Bored to Tears Assignment: “These caged animals are all so boring! I want to see them in action. I know! You can take me to the Dunes and show me how you phight some mean buggers. That’d be cool!” ~Phred Mimphish, a Pharpharian rascal Reward: “Iph you do this phor me, I’ll spread the word on how cool you are to the other kids in the city.” "Excuse me?! Are you calling these noble nature's creations hideous? The only hideous thing is that they have to live caged up like this!" "Yeah! Also, boys?!" The arguing alerted one of the zookeepers. "Is everything alright in here? Your commotion is scaring the animals, so I kindly ask you to quiet down." "Crap! Just act cool now, Sparrow!" "We apologize for the noise, sir! We were just so excited to be here!" "Well, I am glad to hear that. Oh, and if you happen see any suspicious activity around here, please report it to me." Discovered a new subquest! Deactivate the Activists Assignment: “Recently some animal rights activists have been setting few of the animals at the Menagerie loose. All hints resulting in the capture of the activists are much appreciated.” ~Ezra, zookeeper at the Menagerie Reward: “An audience with Marmaduc himself, so he can express his gratitude.” Sarge and Eric found Boomingham at the Sanctity Street.
