See what I'm talking about?! No, I don't have any insight on the silent people - how could I have? I don't have any allies in this game of life, nobody has approached me privately or anything. I have voiced my theories and thoughts, and all of them have been shot down as "scummy". I just don't believe we could have so many night actions as a town - a cop, a doctor, a tracker, a watcher, a vigilante, a serial killer, and now a town blocker? Someone has to be lying, but I have no names to connect to these roles. Remember what the Voice in the Sky said about this game of life in the beginning? That it is not exactly normal. I've been trying to figure out what the twist here is, but haven't been able to figure it out. Yesterday I voted for Gregory since it seemed the suspicions were towards him and me. Irene was fiercely trying to get me voted out, but I felt like voting for her without any other reason would be seen as... Yes, you guessed it... SCUMMY. That's why I immediately voted her once I heard your news. If I were scum, I could have just stayed silent and hope to prevent the lynch from happening, couldn't I? The vote was really tight in the end, a few more inactive people (besides Ace, cough cough) and we wouldn't have gotten a lynch at all. We are winning here, we only need to oust a few more scumbags (unless we have a rivalling Mafia family, like I still believe we might have) so I'm frustrated that the focus is on me rather than someone else. So investigate me, kill me, lynch me - just do something that will allow us as a Town to move on from my sorry megablocks!

Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Oh, it isn't that bad up there. From what I know, the Free Islands have remained that way for centuries because it's in everyone's interests to keep them so. Besides, we have Heroica to keep us safe. Surely you've read about them from your paper? I hired my bodyguards from Heroica. Cost me a fortune, but they have truly been worthwhile." Alfred's appearance suddenly caused stirring, and Ellaria raised her hands in the air. "Please, do not be alarmed! The golem is with us, and perfectly under control!" She then marched to Nur, disgruntled by the mage's inconsiderate stunt. "Nur, please! Do you really have to flaunt your golem all over the place? Can't you see that his presence is deeply upsetting the dwarves! Do you want to get us in trouble?!" -
Do you want me to vote for you, is that it? You're only one vote from getting lynched. I'm voting for Eric because I'm trying to cooperate with the town, and people are throwing rather convincing thoughts against him. As if my reasonings mattered to anyone anymore. I'm already a marked man, despite trying my best to be an active and contributing citizen. All I have is my "scummy" theories. I was never "dead set" on voting for you, I just wanted to express my thoughts and ponderings. But apparently that's not allowed in this town, because anything else than staying quiet is considered scummy.

Okay, I'll just shut up now since literally everything I say sounds scummy to someone. If I talked about the weather it would probably sound scummy to you! Vote: Eric (Palathadric) That Wanda sure sounds like a true expert of this game of life to me, Eric...

But I did vote for Irene! You are again demanding that I should've been clairvoyant and know to vote for Irene before any concrete evidence showed up, just like the case was with Brian. I don't have a ring of night action users around me, so why am I supposed to be the one holding all the knowledge? If i'm considered to be the Big Bad here, surely my investigation would be number one priority? Unless the scum have a framer at their disposal... Damn, too many night actions to consider... I just feel like I'm being used as a major scapegoat, here... Who's Wanda, and how have I ever defended her? Now you're just making things up! Why do I even bother with you guys... I need a coffee break!

I hope it is dropped because its a crappy theory. I had nothing to do with Brian, and I had nothing to do with Irene, and I wouldn't have to constantly repeat myself if I wasn't vocally trying to solve this mess instead of lurking around like half of the players. The cop should have had every opportunity to prove me innocent last night.

You're twisting my words! I never said I wasn't going to change my vote for Al, I merely said that his role claim wasn't enough to do so at the time because I had no better options. I spent the entiret of Day 2 explaining why I didn't vote for Brian, you should've been present to listen because I'm not going to repeat myself. And yes, isn't it convenient that Pamela, the person who was most vocal in claiming I'm scum, gets killed? Surely it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the scum are very happy to keep the attention in me, no sir!
-
Well, at least we can now have some trust in Al's findings. Great job nailing another scum! Pamela's death seems logical after yesterday, she was really pro-town (even though she wasn't pro-Russel ). I just don't understand how you can still be saying I was in cahoots with Irene, after the way she attacked me yesterday. It really brought the attention to me, didn't it? It would totally suck to be a scum if one's mates were like that... Doesn't anyone have any results from last night? I feel like we should wait for them before we start to throw around votes. But nothing wrong with throwing blame around. I still think Ace is trying to fly under the radar, and with the penalty votes he should have from not voting yesterday, he would be an easy lynch. My theory is that since there are so many different role claims, there might be a second Mafia family besides the dreadful Milano. On Day One, he listed the options for the killers, but did not mention that possibility, which struck me as odd. Of course, Ace is not the only inactive person in this game of life, which makes it sad that the active and contributing people are only pointing at each other and getting killed.

Rex took Sarge's ring with pleasure. "MY OH MY! That's a fancy ring! My rhododendron will surely love it. Thanks, fellows - you've all been too kind to an old sellsword like me! I'd still gut you if someone paid me for it, though, but I can say that it would have to be a hefty sum." QM Note: You do understand that I'm not trying to roleplay for you in this case, just trying to keep the quest from becoming a jumbled mess since I will surely lose track of which one of you has talked to which NPC about which subquest eventually. You can ask your fellow players if you want to personally solve a specific subquest, I'm sure you can cooperate that. Rex followed Boomingham's advice and had the garnet imbued into the gold ring. "Now THAT's really something!" "It would be an honor to accompany you, Sir Boomingham. You are the only gentleman out of this bunch. You don't know what I had to endure by spending yesterday with Heckz..." The cleric let out a yawn. "By Mother, it was an exhausting day! I have to get some rest soon, or you'll have to carry me around." As Periwinkle joined Boomingham and Rex, the other three heroes travelled to the slums at the edge of the city. Sun shone high above them when they entered the winding alleyways. The roofs were no longer glittering with gold, and the people around them gazed the three men hungrily. These alleys were not a safe place to be, even in broad daylight. "Oh man, my tummy grumbles! If only I had a bite from a big, juicy apple..." What would the party do next? Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Ellaria approached the dwarf with the newspaper. "I couldn't help but to notice that you get the Eubric Herald delivered down here as well. I am visiting from Eubric, myself. It is nice to know that your people are aware what is happening on the surface. Surely the three dwarven cities will be affected if Uland suddenly becomes a kingdom, don't you think?" -

OoC: Wow, where's that mouse-head from? Ellaria crouched a little as she entered the tavern. All the buildings in the city seemed to be half the size of normal houses. She eyed the various patrons and tried to listen what they were talking about. -
Djimini reforged Heckz's Solemn Scythe into a dagger for 150 gold, but Heckz got 70 gold back from the items he sold. "How could I not know Her Capriciousness the Princess of all Djinni, the beauteous Djinnifer? I beg thee pardon, but Her Moodiness would not heed the call of a lowly smith such as myself." "WELL! I do love me some meat, but do you really think Rhiannon would appreciate eating out at a kebab stall? Doesn't strike me as very romantic, but then again, I'm no expert..." "Two out of five, a great start! Just keep your eyes peeled for the rest of the buggers, they should be around here somewhere..." "I give up!" QM Note: Of course. Only the weapon's type is changed. Djimini morphed the Demonic Scissors into two blood-red greatswords for 150 gold. "The resort? You mean the one by the beach? HA! That sounds better than the kebab stall. The cost is not an issue for me, just as long as it gets me my rhododendron back." QM Note: For clarity's sake, all subquests are common knowledge to all players now. "THANK YOU! You've been a great pal, Sir Boomingham! I'm sorry I can't help you more with the black knight - my morals are where the money is, you see. If you don't feel like helping him out, just leave the slobbering mess be, and find another way into the palace. I just ask that you escort me to Rhiannon and act as an intermediary. Tell me the truth, should I really hand her the Cactoid Flower, take her to the Beach Resort to eat and give her this plain Garnet as a gift?" The apple seller eagerly gave Eric a red apple in exchange for the straw hat. "Phew, this'll come in handy! Thanks!" Eric got 240 gold from the smith for selling the throwing weapons. "I shall give it my best effort." Djimini forged the spells from the four scrolls into the blade of the Scupperer, burning each of the scrolls in the process. This cost Boomingham 200 gold. "May it serve thee well." Oh, wow! No wonder she was so aggressively trying to get me voted. Hopefully your source is right... Unvote: Gregory McHenry (Lady K) Vote: Irene Allen (mostlytechnic) I never refused to vote for her - I just did! I was suspicious of her because she was on my case so hard, but that's nothing concrete, is it? Now we have something concrete right here.

I don't necessarily agree. I don't know about Irene or Eric, but I personally voted for Sarah because she seemed to be the best option at the time, after Al's lynch mob dispersed. What if you're all just on a wild goose chase, and none of us is actually scum? Everybody's been so caught up in this one theory that the three votes for Sarah must be super meaningful that nothing else seems to bear any importance. It was just three votes on Day One when votes were flying here and there, no alternative bandwagon was formed, and eventually a scum got nailed. What was the harm done, exactly? Like I said, I would've loved to be on the same schedule as the rest of you guys who were there by the end of the day, but I wasn't. Am I really getting lynched because of that? If that happens, I hope you will put the pressure on the people who pushed for this theory tomorrow. I'll come up town, so they'll just move onto Eric or Irene saying "Oops, got that one wrong. Well, there's two more people who we can test our pointless theory on!". "Them" being Eugene and Pamela, of course.

The genie smith laid down his hammer as Heckz approached the blue-flamed forge. "The Dream Forge deemeth thee worthy. Cometh forth, mortal. How can I be of service to thee?" DJIMINI'S DREAM FORGE Upgrade Equipment: Any weapon or shield can be upgraded with this service, adding one point to its power per upgrade. Each upgrade costs the amount of WP the weapon has after the upgrade times ten. A Mythril Ore can be used to mythrilize a weapon or a shield, increasing its power by 10. The piece of equipment gets a "Mythril"-prefix and cannot be mythrilized again. Adamantine equipment cannot be mythrilized. This service costs 100 gold. An Adamantite Ore can be used to adamantize a weapon or a shield, increasing its power by 25. The piece of equipment gets an "Adamantine"-prefix and cannot be adamantized again. Mythril equipment cannot be adamantized. This service costs 250 gold. Imbue Equipment: Any weapon can be imbued with an elemental gem to give the weapon an elemental property. A shield can be likewise imbued with a gem, granting it immunity against the element. A gem can also be recovered from an elemental weapon or shield, but the equipment loses its property in that case. This service costs 50 gold. Any weapon can also be imbued with a scroll to give the weapon the effect of the scroll (including the same chance of success in executing said effect). A shield can be likewise imbued with a scroll, granting it immunity against the element. A scroll cannot be retrieved from the equipment once imbued. This service costs 50 gold. Morph Equipment: A weapon's type can be reforged into another type in the same category. The categories are: Blunt weapons: Clubs, Hammers, Maces, Staves, Wands, Whips Ranged weapons: Bows, Broomsticks, Crossbows, Handcannons, Instruments, Throwing Weapons Sharp weapons: Axes, Daggers, Greatswords, Halberds, Lances, Longswords, Scythes, Spears This service costs 150 gold. Sell Equipment: Any weapon or shield can be sold for a price equal to their power times five. The elven apple seller smirked at the two heroes. "Nice pitch, but I'll give you an apple for it. Take it or leave it." QM Note: Just so if it isn't clear, this subquest involves a string of trades, as it is based on an old oriental folk tale where a guy traded straw for one thing, then that to another, until he had a pile of gold in his hand. The wererhino looked doubtful when he accepted Heckz's items. It was just a single flower bud and a solitary gem, after all. "WELL... I guess these will do. But where could I take my Rhiannon to eat? I'm sure she wouldn't enjoy a plate of chilli peppers at the Lodestar Inns..." The zookeeper Istaban who they had met on the previous day approached them. "Hey, it is you again! Have you found any of the creatures that were released from the Menagerie yet? I heard the damned animal rights activists were captured yesterday and thrown to the antlions. Good riddance to them!" Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain

"Yes, a map of the three cities would be most appreciated, Lady Thisbeen. I am afraid we arrived here awfully unprepared... But yes, it seems we agree to your offer. Could you please point us to the right direction?" -
I said if it's down to you or me, I'd rather it not be me. I could vote for Irene for being so aggressively after me, sure, but wouldn't that be seen as more vote-splitting - the very same thing I was accused yesterday? I'm trying to work with you guys here, but you don't seem to cut me any slack. What more can I say? I already said I didn't really notice the votes going towards Brian, and thought Sarah was the likelier lynchee because there wasn't much reasoning behind the Brian votes at that time: I was supposed to be able to tell Brian was scum and up for a lynch out of that?! "I'll explain later", "I'll buy that" and "I'm more worred about Brian". You guys really think I am a clairvoyant... I understand a fellow scum would want to steer attention away from Brian, but if I was scum, I wouldn't really be worried at that point. Brian didn't strike me as particularly scummy - on the contrary I was quite surprised he was, since he has been one so often in the past. I was just unlucky to go on a coffee break at the wrong time... If I had been around by the end of the day, I would have in all likeliness changed my vote, but that is neither here or there.

That's the tradeoff: potions are guaranteed, but limited, while healing might not work, but its more potent and you can do it as long as you have ether. And it's really important to remember that after this change, targets with full health are not healed, and thus do not consume ether.

I'm torn, honestly. How could Shirley have actually known something about Gregory on Day One? If she was a day investigator, then that might be plausible, but I'd believe she would have made a stronger case against Greg in that case... But if the options really are Gregory or me today, then my vote is clear. Vote: Gregory McHenry (Lady K) I wouldn't let Irene off the hook, though, for her aggressive behavior. Or it might just be that the scum are laughing to their fake beards right now, flying totally under everyone's radar. I believe Ace is trying to make sure nobody notices him today. I am worried that Al has suddenly gotten so many role calls - if just one of those guys is scum, that's a hazardous alliance.

Early?! The day was drawing to a close, and I knew I had a coffee break coming up! I don't know about you, but some of us work on a schedule here. It was my last chance at changing my vote, simple as that.

It was the morning of their second day in Salmanda when the party was finally reunited, after an exhausting day of exploring the city and its perimeters. They all met at the same place they had been 24 hours earlier; the Golden Square by the Port. "There you are! By Mother am I happy to see the rest of you! I should go visit Revered Aunt Ovelia at the Temple to recount all I've managed to gather about the other Sisters in the city. Have you found anything else? Did you find Aunt Esther, too?" The party exchanged information about the on-going subquests. Where would they head next?
