  1. Wow, you really got the proportions right, which is always tricky when using bricks. It looks extremely lifelike, although I would hate to see the head of such a majestetic creature mounted on a wall in real life. Glad you can do the same in bricks!
  2. QM Note: Still waiting on Eric to pick a drink... "My bloodline is that of the Huravani, or the Sun Elves, as you know us. My family left the Eversummer Islands ages ago and mingled with other races, so I am not pure-blooded. That's how I got this 'nice tan'. Wyndam's the name, hope you have a relaxing night under my roof." The three heroes grabbed their drinks and went to bed. They awoke refreshed in the following morning. 3. "Well, now that my back-up items are gone, let's just hope we can all stay conscious in the future." Ellaria went to the Fungoid. "It's alright, the golems are gone now. I am Doctor Ellaria Arbour, and this is my entourage. We come from the surface... well, except for the dwarf. Can you tell us more about this incident?"
  4. OoC: Ahem, Ellaria has the Emergency Essence in her possession, so you should probably edit the results.
  5. I didn't want to revive everyone and then have myself roll a Special Damage to knock all of us down. But luckily I had the Emergency Essence in my pocket.
  6. QM Note: Any takers for the Encore Plectrum? If not, I'll just give it to Sarge. The barkeep took the gold from Eric and Sarge. "Yes, that is the definition of complimentary. What drinks would you gents like?"
  7. The three men said goodbye to the Sisters again, and headed to the Lodestar Inn by the Port, where the Sun Elven barkeep greeted them. "Hi there! Come back to catch some sleep, have you? It'd be 50 gold per person, with a complimentary drink of your choosing." Drink List at the Lodestar Inn: Mead (Causes the encouraged-effect, doubling the target's attack power for the duration of one battle.) Costs 20 gold. Smelling Salts (Causes the hastened-effect, allowing the target to act twice in one round for the duration of one battle.) Costs 30 gold. Nostrum (Causes the lucky-effect, allowing the target to roll the battle die twice and get the better result of the two for the duration of one battle.) Costs 40 gold. Soma (Causes the blessed-effect, allowing the target to recover a tenth of their maximum health at the end of each round for the duration of one battle.) Costs 50 gold. Mulled Wine (Causes the inspired-effect, doubling the target's current and maximum health for the duration of one battle.) Costs 60 gold. "I'll take any place I can lay my head down at this point. I'm not as pampered as I seem, Sir Boomingham." At the Sanctuary, a grey-cloaked priest walked to the pair. "Blessings of the Angel Ophaniel to you, travellers. There is always room for the weary under this roof. Shall I prepare bedrolls for you?" "I am sorry, Father, but I do not have much gold..." "Resting under the wing of the Grey Angel does not cost you anything. Who knows, you might gain something out of it." "I am a novice of Mother Danab, so I hope my presence doesn't insult..." "Not at all. Followers of all faith are welcome here, as are the faithless. The Grey Angel loves all mortals equally." It was now midnight for all the heroes, and if they would rest, it would be morning when they woke up.
  8. "Consider yourself challenged, you hairless ape! We will see which one of us gets to Marmaduc first." Ignoring the werelioness, Heckz walked to the store at the edge of the square. For the second time within 24 hours he found himself locked out. Vipersace's Boutique For Frivolous Fashionistas Open from Morning to Afternoon Night fell before Periwinkle finally re-emerged from the temple. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Sir Boomingham. Honestly, I thought you'd be gone to find the others by now. Anyway, the Revered Aunt is pleased with our findings. It became evident to her that Verdra and Ulrica are her greatest rivals at this stage. She asked us to find more dirt on either of them, but I do not know where to start... Perhaps we should ask more about Verdra from the locals, since she is from this city? Oh, I asked about Aunt Esther, too! Ovelia said she had gone to the palace to visit an old friend, but refused to say anything more about her. Now that I think about it, this trip is the first time I have ever even seen Aunt Esther. She doesn't spend time at the Eubric Temple, at least. I wonder if she really is a sister to begin with..." Then Periwinkle let out a big yawn. "Can we go find a place to rest and eat now? It's been an exhausting two days, and I'm beyond knackered!" Boomingham also felt tired as the threat of fatigue loomed over him, as well. 10. "A victim of the Void... How tragic! You are lucky to have returned, for there are countless tales of people getting trapped into the beyond for good. I see now how our petty political squabbles bear you little consequence, but it is meaningful to us." "Sí, how we choose our next leader will determine the path our Sisterhood will walk from here on out. Sister Verdra promises stability and tradicion, while Sister Ovelia wants to spread the word of the Mother even further, to lands where they worship Sylvania, Legovia or Mama Yaya as the matron diosa instead. Ulrica, the Lobo Blanco, the one who refuses to call herself 'sister' at all, promises something entirely differente, though, and many are willing to listen to her." "If you want to talk to Ulrica, you can find her at the Marigold Hotel every night. She is the best person to explain how she plans to change the Sisterhood of Danab. Now, if you excuse us, your Majesty, we should be heading to bed ourselves..." The two sisters bid their good nights and walked away. Would Boomingham wait for Periwinkle until the midnight, or leave on his own? The rich woman was pleased to make the trade, although her son still refused to leave as long as the band was playing. "Woohoo! Listen to this, Mr. Snugglywuggly! This is even better now that the fat lady sings!" The band finished with a bang, and the crowd - that had multiplied during the song - exploded in applause. "That was incredible, Hymn!" "You go, girl!" The members of the Awareness of Ul'damahr bowed deeply to Aunt Hymnessamine. "You showed us the true power of music. We have never felt this much appreciation. Teach us, O Great Songstress!" "Very well, boys. I will play with you every evening as long as I'm here, but after the Conclave at the Temple of the Danab is over, you are on your own. And I want half of the profit we make, deal?" "Whatever you say, Oh Great Songstress!" The band members then turned to the heroes. "Thank you for bringing her to us! Take this plectrum as a token of our gratitude." Encore Plectrum (If the same Battle Song is sung for more than one round in a row, the song’s ether cost for the consecutive rounds is halved; suitable to minstrels; accessory.) Subquest "Missing a Beat" is successful! The party's influence has increased! "Yes, Nalah Firemane is our de-facto leader. We haven't landed anything yet, but we're on the lookout." "Nalah is trying to get us to meet Marmaduc, who is said to be a collector of rare relics - and the richest man around here. Too bad he doesn't accept just anyone into his office..." 11. "Don't worry, they will be up in no time!" Ellaria first attacked the Stone Golem A from the back row, and then used Last Resort to bring her companions back.
  12. There's now two new quests up for sign-ups at the Hall: one by me and one by a first-time host Purpearljellyblob (yay!). Even though they look totally different, they are actually related: we will see two sides of the Spesialia-Fenario conflict in those quests, since they both take place there.
  13. ~Two new quests have been posted on the Quest Board (#135 by Sandy and #136 by Purpearljellyblob)!~
  14. "I do know Captain Mumbasa of Miranda from the times he has visited the court, of course. And I know every High Kingdom there is, but I do not remember anyone named Boomingham ruling any of them. Care to explain?" "¿Oye, you speak Padridian? I would have not known you were so civilized, perdóname. But yes, the Lobo Blanco has give us, how you say it... food for thought." "Of which we should not discuss any further, was it not so, Sister Pilar?" "¡Claro! My apologies, Sir Boomingham, but you are from the Eubrican entourage, so your corazon belongs to Sister Ovelia." The young werelions looked at each other and grinned. "Mercs? Nah, more like treasure hunters. We call ourselves The Rakshasa." "It was my idea. Cool, huh?"
  15. "I would like to save that for an occasion when we desperately need it. If they get knocked out, I have means to get them right back up." OoC: I am also hoping to finally roll a Mixture some day now. It is not easy becoming an alchemist when you're poor.
  16. "Oh, a king you say? Of what nation, might I inquire? I hail from Drandora, myself, and I am close friends with Lady Diana, the sister of the king." "El Conclavio has been muy interesante, to say the least. Sister Verdra and Sister Ovelia are both opciones viables for the next Eldest, but there seems to be a caballo negro in the race. Or should I say lobo blanco..." "Eh, not up to its reputation, I should say. My back is killing me from all the sitting we have had to do!" "You cannot believe how much noise half a hundred women can make when crammed into one enclosed space! I can't wait to be back in the traquility of the woods with the girls again! Why can't they just see the most sensible choice and vote Revered Sister Ovelia as the new Eldest?!" "Hey, that's Mr. Snugglywuggly! Give it back, you thief!!!" "Calm yourself, dear. I am sure this... uh, gentleman just found it to return it to you. Please, can you accept this Riche Perfume as a payment for my son's teddy bear? I splurged all the gold I had left on it, so it should cover any trouble you might have had in acquiring the bear." The noble woman wrinkled her nose. "You could use a whiff of it, yourself..." "My, that is a wonderful idea, Heckzie!" Aunt Hymnessamine marched to the small stage. "Move aside boys, and let me show you how it is done!" "What is the meaning of this?" Aunt Hymnessamine pulled her epic saxophone from her cloaks and began to play a wholly different tune. The people around the square started to clap and dance. As Heckz seized the animal, it became obvious that the creature was the Flower-tailed Flying Squirrel that had been set free from the menagerie. It looked up at Heckz with its big eyes while munching on a flower stalk. "Chk chk?" The werelions smirked at Heckz. "No. By all means, keep it." "You make a fine pair."
  17. OoC: I should have caused 4x43=172 damage to the Golem, because of the wood-element and fragile. Ellaria lifted her hammer up again and repeated her strike.
  18. Thanks, guys! It was fun playing again after a long while, although crazy challenging at the same time! Sorry you had to put up with my incessant ramblings, I tend to resort to that when I am under a threat.
  19. "¡A sí! There is el Sanctuario nearby, I heard everyone is welcome to stay there for free." "Sister Pilar, can you not see this gentleman is a knight. Surely he would not sleep among beggars and rogues! You should try the Marigold Hotel over at the..." The masked sister nudged her companion in haste. "Perdóname, Sister Joan is poco loco! You don't want to go to the 'otel, Señor! It is too fancy for a guerrero such as yourself!" "Oh, right..." The other sister blushed.
  20. I already used it as the boss battle theme in Quest#125, if you didn't notice. Gawd I hated the punk song my country sent to ESC this year - although the notion of having disabled people on stage in such a competition was admirable, of course.
  21. "Yeah, but I thought you remembered why we were here in the first place. But thank you, Sir Boomingham. You have been kinder to me than any man of Heroica I've met thus far." Evening had fallen when the two made it back to the Temple of Danab. Sisters were pouring out of the temple, for the Conclave had ended for the day, and many of the sisters wanted to stretch their legs. It seemed many were accomodated elsewhere, too, since there was not enough room in the temple for all the hundreds of women to sleep in. Periwinkle asked the Vindicators by the gate for Revered Aunt Ovelia. She soon came to greet them by the doorway. "There you are, novice. I was beginning to fear something had happened to you. I see you lost most of your entourage, at least." "They wanted to explore the city more. But I don't think we should discuss out in the open like this any more than this." "Of course not. Come on in, novice, and tell me everything you have seen today. The Conclave is stuck in the rut, so I need something to push myself ahead... Thank you, Sir Boomingham, for escorting Novice Periwinkle to me. You may wait for her out here, if you will. We should be done in a matter of hours." The Revered Aunt disappeared inside the temple with Periwinkle. Two more Sisters were lingering in the vicinity, eyeing at Boomingham suspiciously. The Palace District was filled with noise in the evening, for the Awareness of Ul'damahr was playing again. Their music was loud, screeching and monotonous, scaring away everyone but a select few. "WOOHOO!" "We should be going, dear. It is way past your bedtime." "WAAH! Not yet!" A familiar trio of Sisters was among the listeners as well. "Oh, look who it is! Come to enjoy this... umm, fine musical number? Tehehe!" "I regret that I just ate." "Now I really need a drink!"
  22. "Finally some enemies I can pound with my hammer!" Ellaria aims her wooden hammer at Stone Golem A from the front row.
  23. I hope so! Purpearl just sent me a quest pitch yesterday, I'm currently going over it.
  24. It is explained in the rules. Minstrel's Battle Songs last until the end of the round, or if they are hastened, until their second turn comes up. There has never been any carry overs to following rounds...
  25. "Golems! To arms, everyone!" Ellaria shouted, readying herself for the battle.
