  1. QM Note: Yes, you can use any single consumable item.
  2. Early morning, at Heroica Hall. "Momma, I'm back!" "Sham Poo, my prodigal son! I haven't seen you since the Decamon Tournament! Where have you been mooching this time?" "Well, I tried to make some profit down in Fenario, but it was all so dark and gloomy, and the people there were all kinds of crazy... Gotta keep trying new endeavours. I heard some old lady talk about Heartland in the city, might try it out next." "You're impossible, Sham! When will you give up on your foolish ventures and return to take care of your old mother?" "Not until I've scraped up enough gold to buy you that Inn you want and deserve, momma. I just want the best for my dearest mother!" One of the doors then opened. "I see your son is back, Scheherazade." "Kukulkan! Mind if I ask you..." "No, Sham, I am still not your father, no matter how many times you ask me about it." "No, no! Bummer, but no! I wanted to ask you about the Orcish Liberation Movement. How's it going?" "Things have taken a turn for the worse in this damned city, chap. Orcish slavery was already almost abolished some years ago before things tensed up. Many of our kind were forced to return under the servitude of the wealthy families to make a living, and in no time contracts were conveniently forgotten and orcish servants were declared as property again. To make things worse, many of our kind have returned to Baltarok already, leaving me with very few allies to help to free those who were recaptured. I have had to look for new allies." "What do you mean? Don't you have all the help you need in the Heroicans?" "They want to get paid, and gold is a resource I don't have. Few people know it, but Heroica is piss-poor. The sponsors have been abandoning us one by one, turning their assets to prepare for a civil war in the city. Just look at the quest board - there have been no new quests for a long time. These are desperate times, Scheherazade, and desperate times call for desperate measures." "Well, I just have to make enough profit to help everyone, then! Good luck, Kukulkan!" "Good luck to you too, Sham. Ash Tarok ezka dir droog." The orcs then went their separate ways.
  3. Here is a suggestion for a new Expert Job Class. I don't know when or how it would be implemented, other than it would be related to the Njago Empire, but I just want to get the idea off my chest. The job class is largely inspired by the ninjas of Final Fantasy videogames. Ninja – These nimble stalkers strike from the shadows. • Additional Health: +10 • Weapons: Ninjas can use daggers, longswords, maces, spears and throwing weapons. • Job Traits: Flee (see Rogue); Track Down – Ninjas have the ability to successfully follow the traces of any person or monster they are after; Throw – Ninjas can throw any weapon they can wield, dealing full damage from the back row but having to spend a turn to retrieve them afterwards. • Battle Style: Covert – Ninjas can veil themselves in shadows and false images. 1. SHIELD: Doppelganger – The ninja creates an illusionary copy of themselves with the same power as themselves but only 1 health and no other statistics or equipment. Each copy takes independent turns in the battle order and are susceptible to Free Hits. The copies have 2/3 chance to cause damage equal to their power to their target and 1/3 chance to get damaged by the target, vanishing when they do. The copies are not affected by effects, and automatically vanish if the ninja is knocked out or the battle ends. 2. CRITICAL HIT/CRITICAL AMBUSH/VEIL WELL: The ninja attacks with strength equal to two times their weapon power added to their level. If attacking from a veil, the strength of the critical hit is doubled. Optionally, the ninja can veil themselves in shadows to avoid all damage for up to six rounds, or until they make a successful hit. 3. HIT/AMBUSH/VEIL: The ninja attacks with strength equal their weapon power added to their level. If attacking from a veil, the strength of the hit is doubled. Optionally, the ninja can veil themselves in shadows to avoid all damage for up to three rounds, or until they make a successful hit. 4. AIM/AIMED AMBUSH/VEIL POORLY: The ninja focuses their strike to attack their target with strength equal to their weapon power only. If attacking from a veil, the strength of the aimed hit is doubled. Optionally, the ninja can veil themselves in shadows to avoid all damage for the next rounds, or until they make a successful hit. 5. DAMAGE: The ninja is struck by the opponent’s attack unless veiled. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: The ninja is struck by the opponent’s special skill unless veiled. So, the class's niche is pretty much avoiding damage and throwing stuff. Tell me what you think!
  4. Just as the heroes at the Lodestar Inn prepared to face the assassins, the skull-masked black market dealer burst into the room. "Boss, the foreigners are... Crap!" "Just deal with them! I'll get the Scorpion!" Like a black panther Ashanti leaped down from the balcony and sunk her dagger into the knight's neck. "You cheap megablock!" The knight roared before slumping to the ground. Heckz arrived to the Inn at that moment, getting caught in the ensuing battle. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! HEROES HAVE THE INITIATIVE! 5. "Good to have everyone together again. Let's show these pesky black dwarves what we're made of!" Ellaria used a Health Core on Atramor before attacking Load Worker B from the front row.
  6. Seeing that Nur crashlands next to her, Ellaria decided that the party needed a bit more luck, so she tossed up the Fortune Flush before attacking the Guard Mob from the front row.
  7. That's a very interesting idea. I myself have been rolling with an actual, physical die, so I've tried to keep all success rates as 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 or 1/6. But any QM is free to give this idea a try! I disagree. Once you use a bomb, it's gone forever. While they are quite cheap in the Marketplace, they're not very common as quest drops (since QMs hate them, I know). Most effects only last for a short period of time, anyway, so adding even more variables to them is overcomplicating things.
  8. QM Note: I will start the battle tomorrow, because I should gain access to my Word-files then. Revered Aunt Verdra was there to answer Sarge's question. "Yes. It is indeed a rare venom used by the Venomari poisoners, but not one extracted from a Golden Scorpion. Please, I fear the Venomari are trying to intervene our Conclave, so watch out for any signs of them. If they spoiled the fountain, they must be hiding somewhere in Kalakita Bog, if they have not entered the city already."
  9. Ellaria spends the turn recovering from being stunned.
  10. I'm fully back online now, since the internet modem for my new flat just arrived today. Expect updates soon!
  11. I just want everyone to know that I myself am not pleased in how the quest worked out, even though I have to point out the various distractions in my life for throwing me off the focus. You see, not only did I have computer issues and a travel abroad, I also separated from my fiance after a 10 year relationship, and had to organize a new job and a move to another city. That's why I have had so little time and energy for Heroica, which pains me greatly. I know I should have done many things differently with the traitor mechanic and the whole quest. I doubt I will ever try it again, and if I do I will inform the questees beforehand. My apologies for any grievances the quest caused. PS. Breaking the Healing Staff was somewhat of an overkill, but thatweapon just doesn't work with the game mechanics so I kinda want them all gone...
  12. OoC: Sorry, still don't have internet in my new flat... Ellaria throws a Fire Bomb and repeats her attack. "Let me act first, so the bugs will be dealt with."
  13. What makes it a loophole? While Baba was busy watching over the heroes, Ulric sent his own agents to retrieve the Psycrown. Baba wasn't the only magic-wielder in the Wolf's Den, after all... That of course would not have happened if the party had been successful in their quest, but I found this to be a nice alternative ending to the quest.
  14. "Well, at least those giant insects aren't vermin this time... Come on, ladies, we've got this!" Ellaria tossed the Aeolus Bomb among the enemies before attacking Miner Mob B from the front row.
  15. What loophole are you talking about, exactly?
  16. And so Quest#135 comes to an abrupt end. I hope you aren't as dissatisfied with the ending as so many of you seemed to be about the quest itself... In other news, I am moving to another city tomorrow, so it will take a few days for me to unpack my things and get back on the groove, but after that I can dedicate my life to HRPG once again.
  17. Zaniah did not respond, but nodded silently. She and the other knights then watched as the heroes followed the Veterans through the portal back to the same chamber they left from a few days ago. The other leaders of Heroica were waiting for them. The Dragonlord explained the situation to his colleagues. "So we allow the mindflayer to continue her manipulative schemes, is that it? The Wolfgang has no hope now..." "When did the Wolfgang ever have hope? Ulric's mission was doomed from the start, no matter how noble he thinks his intentions are." "We can no longer delay. We must initiate an assault to the sewers and smoke out the witch. I can use my connections..." "Wait!" The Sand Queen closed her eyes again. "She is gone." "What do you mean? Did the monk manage to kill her after all?" "No, but I have a clear vision that the creature known as Baba is no longer in Eubric. And she does not intend to return anytime soon." "Well, that's somewhat of a relief. At least we don't have to initiate a civil war into this city. The situation is tense enough as it is... But once I get my hands on that monk, I will have a few choice words with him!" QM Note: And that's it for this quest! It did not work out quite the way I imagined it would, mostly due to the unexpected difficulties I had in my personal life. But I hope you at least got some enjoyment from getting to know more about Baba's background. Below are the final stats, and after that excerpts from Monk Pretzel's quest. 18. "Thank you for your answers. I do find it curious that you do not trust your Veterans, though." The Sand Queen turned to her colleague. "Cain, that green blob could not have been anything else but a mind-controlling parasite left behind by the celestial invaders at Mt. Ulysses. Could Baba really be allied with them as well? Is there no scope to what the woman can do?" "The threat she poses is growing day by day, but for now we have no option but to retreat. Heroes, the portal awaits."
  19. No, since you only need to use one of them in any given weapon, so discerning which weapon one has already been used is unnecessary.

The Eubric Sisters waved at him, looking tired and somewhat hungover. When Boomingham's party made it to the Lodestar at the crack of dawn, they saw the owner running out of the front door. Sounds of a scuffle emerged from inside. "Come on! Izzat all yoush got?!" Ashanti was standing at the balcony, overlooking her underlings trying to take out the knight. At first she smiled when she saw the red armor that Boomingham was wearing, but she quickly recognized his companions. "Brace yourselves, we got company. Are you turning your coat on us as well, Crimson Bear?" "AHH! It's been too long since our last toussle! Just remember our initiative, blokes." What would the heroes do? 21. Zaniah glared at the dragoon, but suddenly turned away, coiling with pain. "Milady? Are you alright?" "Don't patronize me! I will be fine when my Syrma gets a proper burial." Zaniah walked to a second, smaller cart that contained a small bundle covered in fine silks, and touched the fabric gently. The bundle looked almost too small to possibly contain an adult elf. Zaniah turned back and tossed a little bag in front of Nerwen. "Before you go, I believe these belong to you. I may be a heartbroken fool, but a thief I'm not." Nerwen received her lost gems back. The Sand Queen closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. "If you want to go after the Monk, then the portal back to the Hall is the way to go. I just had a vision of him being down in the sewers with Baba and Ulric, only the two were arguing. How curious..." "But you still haven't explained to us what happened in the labyrinth? You were lucky that these elves were chasing after you and found you all half-dead down there. Only Monk Pretzel was nowhere to be found."
  22. The faction stores work exactly like the Marketplace, in that you can only access them in-between quests. However, you can join the factions mid-quest via letters, as well as vote in the Kingmaker-event.
  23. That's because there's so many people making content for this game. I personally use SP only in the context of the defense value given by equiment.
  24. I didn't intend to allow that, but given the rarity of Wolfgang rep, I might just open the faction to everyone.
  25. The items and prices at the faction stores are subject to change.
