Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Tesni, we should move over to the cannons with Nur and Dumora. As much as I loathe to leave things unfinished, these dwarves will surely follow us sooner or later." Ellaria moved to the Nautili Production with Tesni (unless otherwise stated). -
Zelda cocked up an eyebrow. "How perceptive of you. Indeed, when I learned that the mother of Ulric Wolfkin had joined the Sisters of Danab and become the voice of the goddess up north, I had to look into it. Why me, you might ask? I actually have close ties with the sisterhood, being a novice in it at one point in my youth. The Almagesta was, too, akin to most high-born girls in Salmanda. That is how we met and became fast friends. I made a pact with Revered Aunt Ovelia to pose as one of the sisters to allow me to travel here unnoticed, and gather information about this Ulrica woman in secrecy. I would not want anything bad to happen to my cherished sisterhood, and I have indeed found out some disconcerting things about Ulrica... Of course, I also wanted to meet my oldest friend at the same time. It feels good to be back after being away for years. Home is always home, you know?" Subquest "Missing Sister" is successful! The party's influence has increased!

It should not be passed around. Only the buyer should benefit from it. Yes, it is. And yes, if a person is willing to invest gold on it, it can get OP. Neither. It's just an item that has a specific purpose for the carrier, like the books that give access to expert jobs.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - New Changes to Job Classes
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
ANNOUNCEMENT! Some adjustments have been made to three job classes: Chi Monk: the Shield-skill Chakra is now used on the target of healing instead of only the Chi Monk. If the Chi Monk has chosen to attack instead of heal, it will target itself. This should make the class a more viable option for healers. Necromancer: Amplified Hit is now calculated to use the total power of the undead army added to WP and Level, instead of the amount of undead multiplying WP. This balances the class while still keeping it powerful when a large number of enemies have been raised. Prophet: Meditate to Nirvana now restores 25 ether instead of full ether. Likewise, if the prophet runs out of ether during Alea Iacta Est, they will gain 25 ether instead of full ether. This makes ether management more of an issue to the class. These changes will take effect immediately. -
QM Note: No, you cannot. "I can pay 100 gold for the jewelsss. The cloak ssshall be yoursss for 300 gold, sssir. Can I help you with anything elssse?" Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"We should probably split up soon. Any ideas?" Ellaria uses a Greater Potion on Tesni before repeating her attack. -
Arc Scrolls are rolled once for results, and if successful, applied to all enemies that aren't immune to the effect. The ether cost is per attempt, like all scrolls, but with the recent changes to how AoE-skills work, I would say the cost equals the number of enemies that would be affected. I'll add this to the FAQ, anyway. I haven't dropped either item.

Sarge, Eric and Heckz arrived to the Floral Square just in time to see Boomingham walk through the palace gates with Rex and the royal knight. Inside the palace, the group was guided to the royal gardens, where the Almagesta was enjoying her afternoon tea with a friend. "My deepest apologies for the intrusion, Your Majesty, but I have an urgent issue to discuss with you. Let me introduce you to Lawrence Boomingham of Eubric and Rex the Rhinotaur, mercenaries both." "Ah, Boomingham... He is the one you mentioned, Zelda? But why is he donning the armour of one of my royal knights?" The Almagesta's voice was deep and serene, but something in it left no room for objections. "He is the one, Salome. You will have to ask him yourself about the armour, I haven't the slightest idea." Zelda Ziegfried's grey eyes seemed to peer into Boomingham's mind. Why had the matriarch of the greatest family of wizards in the entire Free Islands posed as a Sister of Danab to get to her hometown?

Ellaria tosses an Agni Bomb and repeats her attack. -
The alarmed Vindicators crossed their halberds to block their passage. Periwinkle then stomped her foot and started to scream. "I demand to see Revered Aunt Ovelia this instant! This is an emergency! Oveliaaaa!!!" The Eubrican sister then appeared on the doorway. "What in Mother's name... Periwinkle, there you are! Where on earth have you been?" Periwinkle quickly told Ovelia the events of the last few days. The heroes confirmed her story. "I wouldn't have imagined Ulrica would stoop so low! Kidnapping a novice to find out my weak spots... The Conclave must hear about this immediately. Periwinkle, come with me." Ovelia turned to the heroes. "You have done well to find her. I owe you my gratitude, thus you will get extra items when your quest is over." Subquest "Missing Novice" is successful! The party's influence has increased! The Revered Aunt disappeared into the Temple with Periwinkle. The heroes were left on the street with the suspicious Vindicators. Boomingham and his troupe were hindered by the merchants each expressing their gratitude towards them. "Finally, the streets have been cleared of the rubble!" "Not to mention our businesses secured!" "At last we can fairly follow the laws of supply and demand, and raise our prices accordingly! But you, gentlemen, will of course get a hefty discount." The subquest "Abolish the Black Market" is successful! The party's influence has increased! Boomingham then lead his companions to the Palace District, where Black Scorpion Knight finally donned the helmet he had been carrying. "Ready when you are." OoC: Haha, epic battle is epic. Could use a little less epicness for a party of five... Also, I used the Aeolus Bomb in the last battle, you just forgot to remove it from Ellaria's inventory. "Here we go!" Ellaria tossed a Skadi Bomb at the dark dwarves before attacking the Dark Dwarf Spear Mob A from the front row. -
It's really not. Elves are everywhere. "Star Elves" refers to those living in Spesialia, "Sun Elves" to those in Eversummer Islands, and "Moon Elves" to those that lived in the sunken Mercution. "Wood Elves" live in the forests, while "Nomad Elves" wander the desert. Other than those, there can be any number of elven tribes living anywhere. It's the beauty of this game.
-
Welcome to the game, Windusky! I sincerely apologize for the rough start. Things can get a little... intense in this corner of EB. Honestly, though, your character can be from wherever. The only restriction I would put is not to use places from pre-established popular franchises (like Westeros, The Shire or Tatooine). Otherwise, let your imagination run wild - the others sure have! I will post a notice to the Heroica Hall topic when I add new quests, bumping it up. You can use the rank how ever you wish. Just remember that Ulric isn't ruling Eubric just yet, so the titles are meaningless for now. It's light grey. I didn't even know they made the piece in white... Eh, it's been done before.
-
The compass swerved back and forth, pointing at different direction. Periwinkle grew impatient. "Didn't you listen a word I told you, Eric?! Sure, it was the winged bitch who kidnapped me, but she took me into that shack where the white wolf bitch - also known as Ulrica - asked me all sorts of inane questions. Now, will you have my back or not? Cause I'm going in with or without you!" The two vindicator guards at the entrance glanced at each other, hesitating whether to intervene with the novice's raging or not. Periwinkle had probably forgotten that nobody outside the Sisterhood would be allowed entry to the Conclave. QM Note: It is up to the QM's jurisdiction whether it will work when you use it. Instead of following the others to the Holy District, Boomingham led the others to the Souk, which was bustling with people running their daily affairs. The crowd of shoppers and peddlers parted when they saw two royal knights accompanying a corpse. "UH... You're better with words, Boomers."

"Dumora, where did the city guard go? Can you fetch them while we keep these dark dwarves busy? Oh, and every other citizen you can find as well. They will be very interested to see what their High Chief is scheming behind their backs..." -
What's on your mind?

"Good. I mean, I feel bad it had to end this way, but this is good. We can use Ashanti's corpse as proof for Eagle's connection with the black market. The rhinotaur can carry it to the Palace, no doubt?" Subquest "Pot Calling Kettle Black" is successful! The party's influence has increased! "Sure thing!" Rex said amicably and hoisted the woman's body on his shoulder. "Will we head straight to the Palace, BOOMERS? We should probably inform the merchants at the Souk that the black market has closed." "It figures!" Ellaria muttered, shocked to see the High Chief with the dark dwarves. "One should never trust a man wearing a skull emblem..." Ellaria then walked forward, trying to retain her confident posture. "Let me ask you one thing, High Chief: why did you help us in our investigation if you were the culprit all along? Did you want to get caught?" -
QM Note: I strongly suggest you follow Pyrovisionary's idea, so we can have a streamlined climax for this quest. "You have? And you can? How?"

Dyric has successfully instakilled 296 enemies? Really? Remember that the WP only goes up if instakill succeeds, normal killing through decreasing health doesn't count.

Eric did a thorough job with the enemies, they all lay dead at their feet. Periwinkle just finished with the knight when Boomingham walked to them. "There! All patched up and ready for chivalry!" "Thank you, miss... Ungh!" The knight suddenly held his head. He looked visibly sobered up. "You wouldn't happen to have anything for this headache?" "Sorry, but that is the price you have to pay for drinking day in and day out. He's all yours, Lawrence." "I owe you my thanks as well, sir. I can hardly believe Eagle would stoop so low as to send his sister to kill me. We used to be such good friends, back when we were mere squires..." QM Note: You can always sell it for gold if you want to get rid of it.
