For f**k's sake! First people demand to know how long I have planned for the game to continue, and now people are crying because I threw an estimate out of my head! I should have just stayed quiet... The truth is, I do not know how long the game will last. If I get hit by a truck tomorrow and die, it will probably end tomorrow. It might go on for years and years. I have said I have material for the main story for about two more years, but even that's a rough estimate. And I might come up with new twists that will prolong that time (as I continuously have). Eventually this game will end, though, like all things in life. Crying about it now will not help anything.

Aunt Kree pointed her spear at Eric. "Go, Ulrica. If this savage wants a fight, I will give him a fight." "May the Goddess guide your hand, Sister Kree." Ulrica glared at the heroes one last time and departed. Aunt Kree looked at the heroes defiantly. "So, are the four of you all going to gang up on me? Or will you at least give me a fair duel with the savage one?"

The two banished Sisters glared at the heroes. "Du är godtrogen, människa! And blind, too! Have you not seen the turmoil this world has been as of late? And worse is to come, Sarfangr has shown it to me! A great flood, burning cities, a devastating plague... The forces of evil are at large in the world, and we should all be wailing in despair!" "Listen! We are going to leave Salmanda now, Ulrica and me. Even though we were thrown out of the Conclave, you cannot harm us. Not in front of the Vindicators. So just let us leave peacefully, alright?" The woman turned, and Heckz saw that she was no damsel in distress, but a ghoulish werepanther with a manic grimace on her face. Aside from the sharp fangs, she had enormous claws on both hands. What would Heckz do?

Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Ellaria nods, throws her Gaia Bomb and then attacks Uhthrin from the back row. -
Sed was unaffected by Heckz's threats. "Say hello to Madame Lavender for me." It was midnight when Heckz made it back to the city. The square was almost deserted, and only a shadowy figure of a woman loomed over the flowerbed in the middle. Heckz heard her sobbing. ~*~*~*~*~ QM Note: I assume Sarge will accompany you as well. The day turned to evening as the heroes (sans Heckz) returned to the Temple of Danab. They arrived just in time to see Ulrica storm out of the front doors, accompanied by the Rito, Aunt Kree. They didn't notice the heroes closing in on them. "What a bunch of hypocrite spinsters! If they had seen what I have seen, they would be wetting their petticoats and flocking north to ask Sarfangr to deliver them through Ragnarök! Instead they had the nerve to throw me out of their sewing circle!" "It was just not meant to be. What are you going to do now?" "This path has proven to be the wrong one. I had hoped to get at least some of these women to see the truth and help me spread the word, but now I have to return to Värtland and start all over." "If your visions are true - if all of Olegaia is really going to drown in a great flood - then what hope is there? We Rito can always fly to the highest mountaintops, but what about all the other nations?" "I have faith in my son. Sarfangr has shown me that salvation lies within the Kingdom of Moon, and that can only be in Uland. It is no kingdom yet, but my son is doing his everything to change that." At that moment, the Rito sister saw the eavesdropping heroes and pointed them out to the werewolf. Ulrica bared her fangs. "It is no use, Ulrica. Let's just go." What would the heroes do? Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Thank you, Nur..." Instead of throwing the bomb, Ellaria gulps down a Greater Potion (which she should have 2 left) and then goes on attacking Engineer A from the back row. -
Hahaha! Too bad you ditched Polly, there would have been potential for an endless amount of kindergarten jokes now.
-
No way. I'm not going through that trouble just because someone's moronic enough to get themselves banned from the site (mind you, it takes a lot more than a heated discussion to get yourself banned).

Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I'm a little worse for wear, but I'll try." Ellaria throws her Gaia Bomb and attacks Engineer A from the back row. -
I said I would start the Pandemonicon after #130, however long that will still last. This new quest will be a short one, but I'm unsure if it will end before the next one launches. I'm looking for low-level players for it, though.
-
I hope everyone took notice of the latest adjustments I made for some classes, for I have unpinned the announcement topic now. All the changes were discussed earlier, so there was nothing new about them. That item is just for #130. At least I always remove all quest items from the party's inventory after the quest is over.
-
Like I just said, this new quest is not a Pandemonicon quest. You can read about the book from the Wiki, but if you want to know more, I suggest skimming through quests #44 and #85.
-
~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#142 by Sandy)!~
-
There's the Index topic pinned for that very reason. Change of plans! I will not be launching the Pandemonicon quest quite yet, but next up will be a fun little newbie-quest (that I literally thought up today). It can also act as our Halloween Special this year, even though it's a normal quest. I'll get to the Pandemonicon when #130 is done. Don't want to get stuck with hosting two epics at the same time.
-
Done. The list of pinned topics is a bit too long for my taste, though, but I hope people will now find what they are looking for easier.
-
The quests in the Pandemonicon story arc are #44 and #85, there are no others. It is mentioned in the interludes of #135, though.
-
QM Note: Technically, this quest takes place way before the event of #135. Timey-wimey, I know... "If Ulrica has really resorted to such desperate measures as to kidnap a novice, the Sisters will not tolerate that. Sure, she has her supporters, but so do Ovelia and the local Revered Aunt, Verdra. If I remember the Sisterhood's codex correctly, two thirds of all Conclave participants are required to deem a representative unsuitable to attend. And of course I remember that dreadful ball. I believe nobody in Eubric can rest easy as long as that Barbariccia woman is at large in the city. I do not believe I ever thanked you and your companions for your part in solving that, so thank you, Sir Boomingham." At that moment, the Almagesta returned, escorted by the Black Scorpion Knight. The queen did not look happy. "It is done. With a heavy heart I had to relieve three royal knights of their duties and send them into exile from Salmanda for their crimes. Without your aid, Sir Boomingham and Rex, I would still harbor those snakes at my hems without knowing about it. I will give you this as a token of my gratitude." Royal Seal of Salmanda (Grants the holder access everywhere in Salmanda at any time of the day; quest item.) "I just wish there had been another way..." "BAH! Those scumbags got what they asked for! Always stay loyal to the person who pays your salary, I'd say." With their business at the palace done with, where would Boomingham and Rex go next?

"Let me be clear, I did not hire you. I merely recommended to Ovelia that she would recruit help from Heroica for whatever adversaries would be waiting here. Ulrica is one thing, for she does not seem to be as devoted to Mother Danab as she claims. My sources claim that she actually worships a northern deity called Sarfangr, the "Wolf that Eats the Moon". With Salome's help, I have been looking into värtlandish sagas, and found out a prophecy about a Wolf King that will rule the Realm of the Moon at the end of days. Doesn't that sound familiar to you, Sir Boomingham? Are Ulrica and her son truly preparing for the end of the world? I am deeply worried what that will mean for Eubric. Secondly, there are the Venomari. Salome has been very concerned about the rise of the cult in the southern Kalma. Salmanda used to have good relations with the city of Addis Vipara, but recently the snake worshippers have gotten increasingly zealous and aggressive. Apparently, they do not approve the fact that Salmanda allows so many religions to thrive inside its walls - especially the worship of Mother Danab, who they regard as the archenemy of their serpentine god. As a wizard, I know about the harmfulness of prejudice - trust me. So I am asking you to keep your eyes and ears open. Djuvali, the Cobra Priest ambassador here in the court, is equally worried about the situation in his homeland. There have been signs that the Venomari will use the chaotic situation at the Conclave of the Sisters to their benefit somehow. Be vigilant, Sir Boomingham." The Anubian bouncer blocked Heckz's way. Sed crossed his arms and shook his head in disappointment. "Ah, you must have forgotten that the private beach is only open for customers. You do not have the wererhino with you this time, have you?"

I do wonder when the people of the US rediscover the benefits of railways over buses. They're faster, comfier and more environmentally-friendly, after all.

Heckz returned to the pyramid-like beach resort. "Back again? How can I help you? If you want to stay the night, it's 150 gold, with a three course meal included."

My Pandemonicon quest will start soon-ish, and I'm also contemplating on making a short one for low-level players - but it would mean I still couldn't take Quintessa on a quest.
