  1. It seems that I evoked your paternal instincts. I think Ellaria will be just fine on her own, though.
  2. OoC: No, the stats are correct. After reaching Level 10, you only gain half of a level from each battle. After Level 20 you'll gain third of a level and so forth. Erdathcath suddenly smells something rottening in her bag. She finds the greasy sausage that the pirate chef dropped. She takes a bite out of it and decides it's still edible. As they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so when Erdathcath gulps the sausage down she gains two extra points to her maximum health permanently. 4. Ellaria shakes her head. "No thanks, Nur. I believe my vocation is to stick with healing, and the path of a druid seems most suitable for me. Please give the sword to someone who can use it. It really is a powerful item..." A sudden feeling of nausea washed over the healer. She had experienced them throughout this quest, but she had thought she was just sea-sick. But since they had already been ashore for quite a while, Ellaria started to worry that these symptoms were a sign of something else... Excusing herself from the company, she walked over to the bushes. She wiped her mouth to a large leaf, and then rubbed her stomach. It couldn't be...
  5. I do have to agree with Cornelius Murdock here. Posting D&D survey results with such length here is distracting and has little to do with the game at hand, so please stop. I wouldn't mind a couple of people posting their results, but we all know humans are like a pack of lemmings that all too easily start to follow a fad. Well, I kinda sorta created it. What? You said the question was for everyone!
  6. OoC: As I went over your inventories, I noticed that you're still holding on to the Greasy Sausage, The_Customizer. You do realize that it would give you an extra two health permanently if you'd just eat it.

We spent months building the defense system for this fortress and programming the automata, and now you have destroyed all of our work! We gave clear instructions on not to touch anything! So why on Olegaia did you do it?!" What will the party reply to the shocked scientist?
  8. The party walks towards the water and come to the bank of a pond. It reeks even worse than the jungle, making the heroes gag and hold their noses. A putrid green crust covers the surface. On the far side of the pond they see a rock cliff with a large face of a woman carved into it. A stream gushes out of the relief's mouth. This is no doubt the Fountain of Danab, but the water looks the opposite of healthy. Suddenly a shadow passes over the party, and a screeching sound pierces the air. The party sees a dragonine figure circling above the fountain. Apparently the heroes are too far for the wyvern to have noticed them, so they continue to walk along the bank until they come to another orossing of paths. There they meet the most peculiar sight. A dome-roofed hut walks towards them on two giant chicken legs. The party have unexpectedly run into Baba's hut. The heroes try to attract the witch's attention by waving their hands and shouting, but the hut just keeps a steady pace, walking over them. The frustrated Thormanil dashes after the hut and hits the other leg with his axes. This makes the hut stop. Two glowing riders emerge out of thin air, one a white-clad male knight and the other a woman in red armor. They ride protectively in between the hut and the party. "Who dares to disturb the Great Witch of the Bog?" asks the stern shining knight. "Does it matter, brother?" the woman asks. "They will be dead soon no matter who they are. The mistress does not like to be harassed." Cinna tries to explain that they only want to speak to the witch, but the radiant riders are not in a mood to listen. "You will have to prove your worth in battle, because the only way you will get to the mistress is through us." The knights draw their long swords and the chicken legs scrape the mossy soil, eager to kick the pesty humans away. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! 9. Alrighty, I'll add the reputation on Quest #16 player's gallery profiles right away.
  10. Of course not. How could I force anyone, in any case?
  11. Sorry, I missed this altogether. However, the quest description doesn't mention anything about getting good reputation among the Bonapartes, so Etzel will have to confirm this before I can update the hero gallery with that information. No, it is not. Don't ask why, because I can't tell you. But here's the "quest pitch" and the script for the Test Quest, for your viewing pleasure: Quest #0: Back To The Roots Assignment: "As you should know, the history of Heroica began at the Battle of Draida Bay about 250 years ago. Last week one of your leaders, The Dragonlord, left to visit the battle site, but we haven’t heard anything from him since. We want to send six able heroes to Draida Bay locate him and bring him back. We do not know what the chosen ones will find on the location, so we want all six to be from different job classes. Departure will take place as soon as possible." ~ The Sand Queen, on behalf of the other Veterans Party requirements: six people, one from each job class (Barbarian, Cleric, Knight, Mage, Ranger and Rogue) Reward: the pleasure of a job well done and an advantage to the game once it begins SCRIPT: 1. Arrival at the beach - Battle: 5 Black Scorpions, 1 Red Scorpion - Find: tracks 2. Entering the cave - Battle: 1 War Pig, 2 Orc Scavengers, 1 Orc Raider - Find: 30 gold, 1 pickaxe 3. Dividing path - Find: caved in dead end that must be dug through 4. Wrong turn (optional) - Battle: 3 Orc Scavengers, 1 Orc Raider - Find: 6 gold coins, 2 bedrolls, 1 map, 1 chicken leg 5. Dividing path II - Find: trap that takes 50% of remaining health from everyone from the wrong path 6. Dividing path III - Find: 1 amethyst and 3 fire bombs from the wrong path 7. Through the cave - Battle: 2 War Pigs, 4 Orc Scavengers, 1 Orc Leader - Find: tracks 8. Sham Poo, the orc merchant - Find: Sham Poo (NPC) 9. The Memorial Grove - Battle: 3 Crazed War Pigs, Mad Ogre - Find: memorial stone, The Dragonlord (NPC) I thought about hosting the quest again to the public at one point, but now it seems there are too many quest ideas in line that are much more worthwhile. ...Oops, I just revealed the names of two more current Veterans to you at the same time.

  14. OoC: I hate to say this because of the situation, but my weapon is not able to hurt the Phoenix because of its fire-elemental properties. I would've liked to use the Scroll of Sealing on the Phoenix instead on that auto-played turn. Ellaria's heart sinks as she sees the party in such a bad state. If she healed someone, she could always pray for a Miracle to happen... She decided to try to heal Namyrra from the back row and hope that the Nostrum would do its job.
  15. OoC: JimButcher, you can retrieve all of your thrown weapons in one turn. The_Customizer, using an item spends your turn. Results of Round Eight of the Automaton Battle: >Ad-Hoh vs. Automaton Gamma - Critical Hit Erdathcath uses a Phoenix Essence on Hybros Hybros retrieves his thrown weapons Christopher vs. Automaton Delta - Critical Hit >Maurice uses a Lightning Bomb Eric uses a Potion on himself Automaton Alpha - Free Hit against Ad-Hoh The battle doesn't seem to go in the heroes' favor, but suddenly it takes a turn for the better as Ad-Hoh deals 12 damage to Tritech Automaton Gamma and takes it out. Erdathcath revives Hybros back to full health, and the rogue takes this chance to retrieve his thrown weapons. Christopher swings his sword and knocks out the weakened Tritech Automaton Delta. Maurice throws a Lightning Bomb which hits the sleeping Automaton Alpha for 10 damage and wakes it up. Eric restores 10 health to himself by consuming a potion. The remaining Automaton gets a free hit on Ad-Hoh, dealing 10 damage to the mage. Only one weakened enemy remains so the battle continues automatically. 16. I'm really glad that my defensive stance managed to convince people. I would think that in any other game where vanilla townies would not have mattered as much, I would've been lynched without hesitation. And I'm actually glad that I had to reveal my virginity as early as Day 2, because later on it would not have been nearly as convincing (as some of the cultists came to find out). I do have to applaud Tamamono for making the last day extremely entertaining, even though by the end of it I was convinced we had won already. I couldn't help but to laugh at the idea that I was suddenly the evil mastermind behind the Cultists.
  17. OoC: It's totally okay to cover for me if I'm absent. That's the action I would've chosen anyway.
  18. OoC: Again I can only apologize for the constant delays, but the quest WILL continue tomorrow. Now I have to sleep.
  19. Thank you for the honest feedback on my behalf as well! I admit that at the beginning of the game even I started to question my ability to play this game right - especially during the disastrous Day 2 - but I survived that thanks to a small miracle, and the only way from there was up. This is my fifth victory out of fifteen Mafia games I've participated in here, so I guess I'm not doing everything wrong...
  20. Woohoo, we survived! This certainly was an intriguing and fun game to be a part of, with all the twists and turns involved. I almost can't believe I went from almost being lynched by mostly other innocents to a trusted member of the Order of the Penis by the end. And even though I publicly had to claim to be a virgin, the Cultists didn't see me worthy to kill for some reason. Well, all the better for me! I have to concur that first Hinckley and then Cornelius Murdock and Cecilie were the driving forces in this townie victory. I found it very difficult to trust Hinck since he had used that same "center-piece" stunt before with varying results, but ultimately when I got "Cherrinated" I saw no other option. I really loved the setting and the various wacky hijinks that we went through. It's clear that you've set a whole new standard for the future Mafia hosts, "Osiris" and "Isis". Thank you for taking the effort, and I really hope you had as much fun hosting as we had playing!
  21. A QM should solve that with a roll of a die, in that case. "When in doubt, roll the dice."
  22. A knocked out character cannot be healed until s/he is revived, so it would go to Player B.
  23. I meant the lowest current health, not the lowest maximum health.
  24. Whoa, that was really in-depth, Flipz! I don't know if I should be deeply honoured or a little creeped out that you spent that much time dissecting the classes... Flipz raises points that I would've never thought of either. I think I even need to make some minor adjustments due to Flipz's analysis. For example, if a shaman rolls a Shield, how would it be decided who gets the transferred health? I'm thinking it would be the party member with the lowest health...
  25. OoC: I thought it would be clear to everyone by now, but if you ask... Both your melee attack and magic power is equal to your level + your weapon power (currently 13+5=18), but against an enemy weak to the element of the spell you're casting you'd do double damage (18x2=36). Critical hits/great spells double your weapon power for the attack (13+(5x2)=23). You cannot attack without a weapon.
