Registration - Worst lego theme?
AyliffeMakit replied to Kalais's topic in Forum Information and Help
Maybe "What Lego theme is the least compatible with lego itself?" would be a better question to ask, to which the answer would be obviously Galidor? Alternatively you could use snipers, but then that would mean a LOT more paperwork -
Your worst nightmare. Probably.

All this talk of the rumored list being possibly mistranslated gave me an idea... ...I put the list through Bad translator 1. Thief 2. Soldiers 3. Penguin jacket. 4. Contact 5. Pipe 6. A slacker. 7. Professor 8. The wolf man. 9. Charming snake. 10. Doll 11. Hot springs trip. 12. Children 13. Mailman. 14. The waiter. 15. Management 16. Motorcyclists. I think this list could possibly be considered plausible. But yeah, I think that the proper list is probably at least partly true, but some bits could have been misheard or misinterpreted in some way.

I ended up building this small section of corridor for my Lego RP account on twitter, SalvageTeam Alpha-09, and it turned out better than I expected photo-wise... More photos on my Flickr Photostream Enjoy!

Actually, what I think TLG should have done is at least get Cartoon network or some other TV channel to show it in between programmes as well as putting them online. Anyone else agree?

So, judging by the pictures from the presentation and the video (especially that sketch of the red one wearing a jedi robe... ), I'm guessing that the Protectors are going to be sort-of Turaga but in larger numbers, right? Or maybe Matoran that don't sound like teenagers... Anyway, I really like the art style they're using for the Online mini-series. I really hope that they expand it to longer episodes in the future or something, because from a graphical point of view it has a very unique style that I somehow can't get enough of...

Dammit just2good, i was about to go to bed but now you've posted these I'm going to have to spend the whole night staring at them! Some of them look a lot better to me than they did in the prelims (mainly Gali and Pohatu), and some of them look pretty similar. I still think Tahu's new mask is horrid though, i was considering buying him as my only set from this wave but I'll go for Kopaka instead now.

Great Western Lego Show 2014
AyliffeMakit replied to Sir Brickalot's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'll definitely be there on Saturday again after my first visit last year! I've got my tickets booked, and I'm looking forward to spending all of my money in one go seeing you all there! -
Oh,you mean the short thing in his right hand? That's actually a knife, not a sword. Makava knows that it has a proper technical name, but he just calls it his 'stabby knife' :P

Thanks legozebra! The backstory was the main reason I built Makava in the first place, so I'm glad you liked it! :D

Wow, that was not what I was expecting at all, but its still really nice to see some of their previous concept ideas for the mask of creation (even if some of them look quite silly). Also, I wonder if they'll reveal something else next friday, or is this the last Bonkles preview until NYCC? EDIT: Is anyone else getting an error message when trying to get onto BZPower's forums?

Thanks for all the positive feedback! Yeah, I'm pretty good at character backstories and stuff like that. In fact, I've had some ideas for a couple of stories involving Makava, so stay tuned for that... At one point when I was building him he did have lots more silver attachments and blades on his back, but IMO it looked a bit too "overkill" for my liking. Thanks Mutant Orc! Makava's backstory was the main part of this build in the first place, so I'm glad you liked it! He's been riding the Hype train ever since it left Mata Nui, even if the voice in his head kept on denying it

Eh, I don't really mind what we get, as long as we get our Bonkles back I'll be happy Also, you know what I want most of all merchandising-wise? Duvet covers 24/7 Bonkles for me

MAKAVA. Makava is a very strange Toa. Not much is known about his origin, but according to him the first thing he remembers is a vision of an immaculate white boardroom, surrounded by 'set designers' talking about whether to release him as an 'exclusive set' or not, but in the end he was dropped, at which point he suddenly woke up in a cave with no memory of the rest of his life except for one crucial fact: that he was just a character in a popular toy range, and that he was axed at an early development stage for being 'too overpowered'. On that day he also gained a strange voice in his head, which only he could hear. This voice said he was a set designer for BIONICLE, and that only Makava could hear him because of a mental link between them for some reason. No-one really knows this Toa's element, but Makava himself claims he is "The Toa of fourth-wall breaking", but some Matoran believe he is actually "The Toa of Laziness" as he doesn't really do much other than relax and, in his own words "sit on his fat big behind all day", but occasionally he does help the other Toa protect Mata Nui, mainly to prove to the voice in his head that he is worth producing as a proper set someday. More pictures of Makava looking awesome here! Enjoy!

Intruiging Tweet from TLG-Apparent huge news is coming
AyliffeMakit replied to ocifant's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nailed it Probably not, judging by the angle the photo was taken at it looks like it was just whipped together in 10 minutes by someone in TLG's HQ Yeah, I do think that this announcement has something to do with CS due to the colour scheme.... possibly a TV series about Benny? -

And now theres another one! Personally, I'm hoping that because of the TV test card it's going to be a reveal for a TV special/series of some kind. Maybe a TLM spin-off? Or possibly even a BIONICLE TV series.... Either way, I don't think its a reveal just for Bionicle returning or another new theme, that would be too simple, if you know what I mean... -

Intruiging Tweet from TLG-Apparent huge news is coming
AyliffeMakit replied to ocifant's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I saw it on twitter as well... I reckon it has something to do with TLM (with the test card pattern and all), could it be a TV special?
