  1. Thanks very much! And welcome to EB! Your first post was indeed a helpful one... God Bless, Nathan
  2. Yuck, customizing! No wonder I hadn't heard of it.... Actually this would make an interesting study in memory/speed reading letter combinations... X-D Thanks and God Bless, Nathan
  3. This is exactly what bothers me about this sub theme, it leaves the traditional Lego values and departs down the fright knights path.... and nobody wants that ;-) God Bless, Nathan
  4. It's one of the small racers sets... one of that 3 pack which built the all black racer from memory : ) Nice MOC btw. a little stark and sparse but not a happy scene anyway... God Bless, Nathan
  5. Hey and welcome! MSN refugee? Can someone elaborate? God Bless, Nathan
  6. I'm not a pirate fanatic, but something about that image is very inspiring/interesting... Where did you find it? God Bless, Nathan
  7. See you there: God Bless, Nathan
  8. God Bless, Nathan
  9. Forgot to mention that this is one of the few lego sets to appear in two box sizes... God Bless, Nathan
  10. I should clarify I think this is awful nice and I would be a hundread times less critical if it wasn't a ghost driven subtheme. This to me is like the Islanders of Pirates, yes it's lego ( ;-) ), yes it belongs to the theme, but no I don't buy them because I didn't like the direction it took the theme as a whole... God Bless, Nathan
  11. Very nice. This ship has a scale that is much more 'piratical' than many of the vessels in the lego waters... I like all your decorations, the way they continue in the spirit of the BSB is very nice! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  12. well it looks like two of these (pic = link) joined by a technique pin, then attached to a hook, then a standard round 1x1, and finally one of those technique knob pieces... God Bless, Nathan
  13. I'd be interested, may even spur m into a pirate MOC if my bricks aren't otherwise occupied. Rule wise the CC ones seem fairly efficient although I would like to see one category judged more on playability and another more on detail/construction so that those two aren't going head to head... Prizes would be great... God Bless, Nathan
  14. I can understand the blue admiral's price (not that I would pay it). As he only came in two very expensive (especially now) sets. But the red admiral was available in three sets, which are still expensive but not as highly sought after.... Maybe it's just that distinguished head ;-) God Bless, Nathan
  15. Thanks a million! Good to get a warning about something. God Bless, Nathan
  16. The wheels are definately a great inclusion, though not exactly a common element... Note how they resemble Phes' picture. God Bless, Nathan
  17. A nice ship... looks vaugely familiar ;-) . Seriously: I like what you've done with the BSB. God Bless, Nathan
  18. I'm probably not the best person to comment because I really dislike fantasy in Lego... Disclaimer aside: I like the idea of multiple buildings, an eerie desserted mining town is also a great concept (with brilliant features like the bed and stairs). But I don't like the abundance of ghosts (something Lego never did) and designing whole buildings on a swivel feature would really be annoying to your average kid (I think, I haven't bought this set yet ;-) ). The cactus instantly says 'creator' or 'basic' to me as well. I do like cookie, a very nice colour/design. And am extremely impressed by your attempt to mirror lego's style evolution. I would suggest you pursue this less and less as you get later in the 90s X-D ! The art is great as always! I'm still holding out for the $500 playset of a working mine car chase with 8+ figs and a strung out 'great escape set' playability style... maybe that's just me... God Bless, Nathan
  19. I always liked the blue coats better... God Bless, Nathan
  20. The 3 galleries I know of are here, here, and here... Happy hunting ; ) God Bless, Nathan
  21. Wow! Lego is really taking a step up (or back to the old, depending on how you look at it ;-) ). That firestation looks brilliant... bley...mumble..mumble.... God Bless, Nathan
  22. Indeed X-D God Bless, Nathan
  23. Common sense goes a long way... To expand on what I said: Lego used to crank out millions of red right wedge pieces in a day, than millions of some other red piece, etc, about a month later they would switch to say blue.... This was done without consulting the set schedule, so the model makers had to limit themselves to what was available in a massive (very expensive to maintain) warehouse, and how many copies of a set was also limited by this warehouse. Which is why Lego often ran out of popular sets and 'couldn't' make more. It also meant that an age of production line to consumer efficency, Lego were just making their chain longer. It is my understanding that this is the exact weakness pointed out by their 'experts' and hence the spring cleaning of 'left over' elements and sale of warehouses in Denmark... God Bless, Nathan
  24. I seem to have been misunderstood.... I was merely saying that if Lego ran their company better (in this specific area) larger/more detailed sets would be price feasable... God Bless, Nathan
  25. If you dig around on CC for the is customizing wrong thread, you'll find he swore off it... I suppose we have that to thank for all the detail he gets out of actual pieces... God Bless, Nathan
