Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
BrickG replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
eeehhhh I didn't even like Wolverin's claws (he's holding them.. we need bracelet accessories that go before hands) and I don't really like trying to make rings fit on the hands. Lego hands just weren't made for them. Especially 5 of them per hand. Maybe just print the hand with little dots. -
Eyes bigger than your stomach (or bricks)?
BrickG replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It'll probably be like 2 feet or so. I can't possibly do the minifigure scale which would be like 8 feet. 2 feet will already be hard enough with my relatively small collection. I'll probably make it darker too. Light Grey (for the white'ish areas), dark grey and black. I think Lego white is too white and I wouldn't stand a chance to make anything since I don't have enough white stuff. -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
BrickG replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Purdue Pete... had to Google that. Not to sound like a downer but that sounds like one of the most useless and uninteresting things there. A mascot? Nervermind that I'm not a sports person. I know some people are. But... this seems to be of relevance to very few people besides those at that university and if they were to do one for a university I'm pretty sure there are better universities to do them for. No offense but I hope that doesn't ever become a set. ;p -
I have the unfortunate habit of my builds being too ambitious. My collection isn't nearly as big as probably 99% of the people here. No matter how much I buy I seem to have less even than people who are barely into Lego or got out of them when they were kids. ;p So this leads to me rarely finishing a build. I'm always lacking enough pieces or enough specific pieces. Then I plan to buy them from bricklink but can't usually actually allow myself to do so because of my limited funds. My next project, the Technodrome. Chances it'll be finished: About 5%. (P.S. anyone got an idea for the best wheels for that thing? )

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

This would be an issue if Lego wasn't making more money than ever and STILL raising prices. Lego has always been expensive but now it's at an all time high of ridiculousness. -
What DC/Marvel Hero/Villain Do You Most Want To See Made In LEGO?
BrickG replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in LEGO Licensed
Batgirl Oracle (wondering how they'd do a lego wheelchair) Clayface (probably not a traditional minifigure) Ra's al Ghul Talia al Ghul Zsasz Hugo Strange Joker, Arkham City version Harley Quinn, Arkham City and Arkham Asylum versions Black Mask Night Wing (new) Slade Raven Terra Starfire Cyborg Superboy Aqualad Ms. Martian Beastboy Green Arrow Solomon Grundy Mr. Arrow Flash Hawkgirl Green Lanturn Hal and Stewart Supergirl Steel Bizarro (no stupid comic-con exclusive!) Brainiac Darkseid Metallo Doomsday (not a traditional minifigure) Eradicator Cyborg Superman Zod (seems like we're getting him) Livewire Lobo Mongul Parasite Silver Banshee Ultraman Superwoman (alternate universe version) Cheetah Giganta I can go on and on... that's only DC too. :P -

They just won't. Look at the Green Lanturn minifigure. Nothing. Look at Wonder Woman's gauntlets. Mysteriously missing. Important aspects of the characters. Yet they're not there. I understand Green Lantern's ring... but why Wonder Woman's Gauntlets? Arm print that stuff! -
I want LOTRs sets... but I don't have the budget. I'm sad. I've gotta get Super Heroes and TMNT first. Another thing giving me pause are the horrible "Dwarf" legs. I hate those things. And all the hobbits and dwarves have them... I hate that they can't move.

Beebop and Rocksteady aren't in this new series. Probably never will be.

What do you prefer?, Lego Batman or Lego DC superheroes
BrickG replied to Jackattack7's topic in LEGO Licensed
The only thing I really like better about the older ones is the coloring on two-face. Black and white vs... purple and orange? No contest... -
One problem with the baddies is that they haven't even shown up in the TV show yet. So obviously nobody has any connection to them. Maybe people will feel differently later... Though... I don't see how they could possibly be better than Beebop and Rocksteady. We really need Beebop and Rocksteady in the show...

I was talking about the Superman set we already have with Lex and Wonder Woman as a way to compare price expectations.
-
Don is with Shredder and a Footsoldier.
-
Eh... $10ish for the Kraang set. Hopefully. It's licensed so who freakin' knows? Maybe $50 :P. I figure it's got the same amount of figures as the $20 Superman set we have but much less pieces I think. Shredder Chase... $20? It looks about as big as the Superman set. I'm not sure if we got a price for Raph's Bike set which is in between the two if that helps.
-
Shredder Bike is a bulky black large bike with tailpipes pointing almost upwards with fire pieces. A Footsoldier is there randomly and Don is chasing him on a larger wannabe skateboard. The Kraang set seems to have some kind of small pod you can fit a minifigure it (it's been captured?) a footsoldier and a Kraang (unique figure) in a slightly bulky mechasuit.
-
Well those are half-prototypes. Lots of different/missing printing. Some slight differences in the models. But this helps a lot. There's zero April. That's weird. But honestly I'm not surprised because Lego doesn't seem to like doing female characters much. :P Only one Don unless we get that rumored 6th set. Also there's no Kraang guy that's got the human cover which is slightly disappointing. I mean there's the battle damage one from ComicCon and the full robot no skin on one in the set. That Kraang figure is neat though, the actual kraangy one (not a traditional minifigure). But yeah, I don't think you're allowed to actually share those. They're still watermarked and not the final product so I'm sure Lego doesn't want them around. BUT THANKS! :D

Marvel VS DC super set. Alternate Universe DC set with evil Superman and stuff.

You don't have to do "Disney's Oz". The Wizard of Oz books are all public domain now. They can just make sets based on those, make them inspired by the new movie but not outright copying them and it would be perfectly legal. That said I don't think there would be much money in a franchise like that.

I hope Chima comes out with a pig and rhino that I can customize to Bebop and Rocksteady. :P -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Lego is indeed going insane with the prices. They've always been stupidly expensive. But lately... it's been getting significantly worse. They used to have decent excuses like not using almost-slave labor in places like China. But they do that now. They've been making the move more and more towards almost-slave labor and outsource a lot of their production. I would bet that in the future they'll completely replace their factories with China ones. This should drive the costs down, yet the prices still keep going up and up to insane degrees! What the heck is Lego doing? -
How the heck did they get that? Well, I see another on sale (8 actually). From what I can tell this one is not exclusive and will be included as is in at least one set. So paying $50ish for it... seems kind of pointless. I'd rather wait a few months. Plus Mikey is my least favorite Turtle. ;p

What Licensed Sets Are You Getting? (Star Wars also allowed.)

April is so far a completely useless character in the show. -

Oh and if Zelda or Back to the Future comes next year via Lego Cuusoo I guess I'll be getting that. -

Every single TMNT set. Every single Superman set. Most Batman sets... not sure... And... we haven't seen many Marvel sets have we? Well, probably not the Spiderman ones. I hope there's X-Men ones. Lastly that Rancor Star Wars set. I want that giant Rancor. -
