  1. Yeah, I don't care about Chima at all. However I like some of those parts and can't help but think "Rocksteady!", "Hawkgirl/man!", "Leatherhead!", etc. They're really going all out with Chima. Not sure how well it'll do. They've got like 15 freakin' sets released in one month?
  2. I never use the VIP points offline. I'm an hour away from any lego store (like 3 :/). The gas makes it not worth it. VIP points suck in general. I've stopped buying from Lego.com. The savings are superior at Amazon (just have to be patient to wait for the like 20%+ off deals) AND I get free two-day shipping. Makes VIP points mostly irrelevant except for the times the Lego store has the cheaper price. That only happens with the more oddball items (plates), rarer items or sometimes for specific in-demand items during the holidays (when suddenly the Amazon prices skyrocket or they're out of stock). Mathematically, with some patience, VIP points factually suck for 95% of Lego items.
  3. The second 2000s series got past this. Ninja Turtles Forever or something, crossed the universes between a lot of the TMNT shows. It included the original toon (beebop, rocksteady, kraang too), original comic and the 2000s series. I assume that since they were able to pull that off it's not too big of a leap to go to Lego maybe with a few talks. :(
  4. Freakin' I want a Kraang (original TMNT toon) and Beebop and Rocksteady minifigures. XP I hate how all TMNTs since then have like completely ignored those fan favorites.
  5. I always try to plan for the after Christmas deals however Christmas never fails to wipe me clean of funds. :( I've got about $20 in the bank after this month.
  6. Ninja Turtle leaks changed a decent amount. Though most of that was the minifigures and not so much in the builds.
  7. This year or next? I'm too poor for this year. :( Christmas wiped me out. Still have to buy some LotR sets too... Anyone have a spare $1000? ;P
  8. Besides hoping we get another wave eventually I'm also hoping the builds are better. I feel like a lot of aspects of the 4 sets I have suck. The little often yellow vehicles are really quite boring and stupid. Baxter's Mech is great. Shredders Bike I like (for as ridiculously bulky as it is), the Lair has some okay aspects (could be much better though) but I'm really just getting a meh sense out of most of them. The minifigures are where it's at. This is my favorite Lego franchise yet. Though I'm not sure I like how they did Dogpound (he should be muuuuch bigger, like at LEAST the size of the Castle Fantasy big Ogre d00ds who I forget the name of), I wish Baxter had his normal hair and not the stupid helmet and I wish I got the Kraang in their human suit. I also kind of wish the Kraang thing was a tad smaller. It fits in a 5x4 area, wish it was like a 4x3 area. Still, very good. Everything can improve though.
  9. How much longer are the 2012 sets going to stay around? I still haven't bought the Avenger sets. Hope they're not discontinued too soon (if not already).
  10. I've tried this with a whole 3 sets. I'm just not patient enough. I hate it. The sets are still in my closet after over a year waiting to go up in value (2 have somewhat, the other two haven't yet). Even if I make a +100% profit eventually I hates it, and I'm not rich like these guys who buy rooms full of Lego (at that point I'd just retire off my wealth). :)
  11. Too bad the game kind of is meh... It's like a single player game stretched out into 8 MMO sized stories where nothing interesting happens for long periods of time. Seriously, it's like they took KOTOR 3 and pumped it with Naruto filler but 10x more (or any anime filler). Interesting sometimes but the filler... just... sucks (95% of the missions and the boring, generic stories that go along with those missions). The other 5% is fantastic, great story and presentation. But for most of us it's just not worth sifting through MMO levels of content to find all of that. Basically, I think this will probably be the last TOR set. The game isn't doing that well. It's gone free2play and it's still not doing all that well. They bit off more than they could chew. It's really a bit sad because the art in the game is fantastic and the story is if you spend the time to find it... These minifigures are great and for some reason I especially love the droids (in the game, the minifigure managed to make that particular droid look bad).
  12. To be fair, that's Mikey. He looks like an idiot because he's an idiot. I don't really like either of his faces but that's his personality. The other Turtles don't look as goofy and IMO are 9/10 minifigures. The only reason they're not 10 is because you can still improve them (arm printing, side of leg printing, shells at the neck look meh, Lego nunchucks and bo staffs suck, I'm sick of characters like Wolverine and Shredder HOLDING their claws, lets give minifigures wrist pieces already, etc).
  13. Idunno the new sets look too colorful to me. My favorite Castle series was the Fantasy one. Dark Blue. Enemies that weren't just other humans. Fun almost LOTR stuff (then LOTR came :P). I think in fact they're making this really kiddie on purpose and really trying to contrast it with the LotR sets. Maybe with the theory that there's no conflict in the consumers then (or fewer). I don't think it'll work.
  14. I'm really really wanting a new Sandcrawler. Hope that Cuusoo makes them bring it in 2014...
  15. I really wish we got spoof Star Trek stickers from the new Ninja Turtles. The TV has a lame generic allyway sticker. That spoof is PERFECT for it... I also wish these sets came with that many brick looking pieces (love these non-standard pieces). Where the crap did you get so much? :P
  16. I wish they'd do more than one but BttF probably couldn't support more than one. That way you can have a Western based on BttF 3 ;). We need 3 sets. One for each movie. Tons of Marty McFlys (a normal one, one with that crazy rainbow hat and the auto-shoes from the second, then a cowboy one for the third), tons of the Doc, Biff, etc. All from the different timelines :P. Never gunna happen. I am looking forward too the BttF set more than I thought I would be. Probably because I just got my TMNT sets and I'm feeling nostalgic. I bet the final version is very similar to what was submitted. A Marty, a Doc, a Hoverboard and the Delorean. Probably like... $20-25. I just hope the Delorean is a bit better. I'm not sure how much better you can make the model at this scale though.
  17. I think it'll get another wave of sets around the end of 2013. Quite a wait but still... The show has the ratings. The toys sell out like crazy. Both the young are buying them. I'd say they're probably selling well. It all hinges on if the new series can stay up there in the ratings (therefore selling more toys). So far it seems to be with the viewership going anywhere from 2.8 (lowest), 3.2 (premier, highest rated Nick premier for a long while) to 3.7.
  18. I quest the need for a thread like this. I mean, it's so obvious. Most Lego people seem to know the rules Lego goes by. I could always say Lego would never allow anatomically correct minifigures/pron minifigures, Megablocks minifigures, minifiguress depicting 9/11 criminals and victims, etc.
  19. Honestly I'm not liking it that much for a few reasons. 1) We get too many duplicate Minifigures. 2) The Price. The price feels way too high. And since it comes with duplicate minifigures that I have no interest in having duplicates of (Ivy, Cop, basically (but not entirely) Batman and Robin) I'm having trouble justifying buying it. Yes, it has the new Penguin and Scarecrow which are probably the main draws (since we've already had Joker and Harley, just not in this clothing) but it feels like... it's one of those "trap" sets. I have to spend an ungodly amount of $$$ to get these VERY important Minifigures. More people can probably live without most of them (especially since they're duplicates) however I'm just sick of them sticking the key, important figures in ridiculously overpriced sets. TMNT did it right. None of the sets were this expensive. You could get all the Turtles with just 3 sets and basically have all the important parts WITHOUT even spending THIS MUCH on a single set. I don't like that practice. It's good for business but just makes me pissed. Lego is already expensive. I'm not rich. Stop making it so hard to collect the things I want. If I end up buying this set it'll JUST be for a few of the exclusive minifigures. The build looks decent but honestly not superly interesting (unlike the Grand Emporeum, Pet Shop, etc) because it's a tiny sliver of a building.
  20. I think the problem here is that with the sheer amount of pieces and crap Lego has to keep track of there WILL be mistakes. No company could deal with it and make ZERO mistakes. So even though Lego is wrong sometimes, I barely care because it's a huuuuge task. And it's a business run by humans so they'll make a few mistakes along the way. As for their response, I doubt the people who respond have the ability to respond in a manner you want very often. Full investigations of such things aren't always easy.
  21. After having zero money for this I got 4 of the sets! Mikey Kraang Shredder's Bike Sewer Hideout And the Baxter one is on the way (didn't get in the mail on time) Got all the turtles. All is good! :D
  22. This chart says a lot. Western went from one of the most a sizable influences to next to nothing, significantly smaller than 1%. The amount of influence Westerns have on popular culture outside of old people old enough to remember the good old days of Westerns is almost nothing these days. I believe you're vastly over estimating the influence Westerns have these days as well as extremely underestimating the influence of Back to the Future which is still in the minds of even young people (everyone knowns what BttF is, even little kids). This is only one graph but it illustrates it well. Westerns are practically dead.
  23. I've been meaning to put the Bunny Hood onto this white Batman. White Batman is cool but what use is he in most build situations? Might as well make him BunnyMan.
  24. Voted average on accident. I'd say the build is average. However I love the minifigures of Nick Fury and Venom. Even after watching Ultimate Spiderman I think it's freakin' stupid for Spiderman to have a Spiderbike still. This set doesn't come with crappy wannabe popular heroes too like Nova and Beetle or Iron Fist (really, all of the extra heroes in Ultimate Spiderman are dull and boring, they need to take notes from superior team shows like Teen Titans). I'll be buying this if I get some extra $$$.
  25. ]If you want data from a scientific study I don't have that. I'm just saying, and you don't have to believe it, MWT would be less popular than those. You don't have to believe me. But in my experience and in my opinion it's just fact. Westerns are a dying genera regulated to a small corner of media. It used to be literally like half the movies and TV. It was the biggest. Then it shrank. I recently saw a figure that showed the generas and their portion of the entertainment industry (on reddit, don't have the link) and Westerns went from kind to a basically invisible sliver. The amount of western in popular culture with anyone 30 and younger is ridiculously small. You can deny it all you want and demand empirical evidence. It's just true. There's no way a western set would sell as well as a BttF set or a Zelda set. No way, now how. If you think otherwise I think you're a bit out of touch with the modern world and what's what. The demand just isn't there. I don't mean to insult westerns. My grandfather is basically a cowboy and loves that stuff and has his house decorated with anything Cowboy and Indian. But that's just it. My grandfather. Westerns influence on people is limited to almost entirely old people. This of course, naturally, would limit it's sales as compared to say Ninjas or other things which are on kid's minds 1000x more than Western things. And in the end even Cuusoo is about that, sales. (I'm too lazy to make a full report with links and all, take it how you want)
