Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
BrickG replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Lego has a nasty habit of often putting random colored blocks in their creations. I thought it was mostly gone but apparently this random blue stuff means it's still here. -

They've got to protect their intellectual property with constant reminders of things like "Lego Bricks not Legos!" but instead "I'm Batman! See my logo on everything!"... -
Yeah I'm probably getting them all too... It'll be hard as heck to build bigger better versions of things like this van for those of us with modest collections. The needed colors are so unusual. I might have to buy multiples of a set just to pull it off.

AJFDLKSLKFJKSLD! Seriously Lego, stop it! STOP IT! :( http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-York-Comic-Con-EXCLUSIVE-Lego-TMNT-Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-Black-NYCC-/330808871719?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item4d05becb27 I hope there's some that are sold for a sane price... but I highly doubt it.

Wut? I'm excited too but to say they couldn't have been done better is crazy. Their skin tones are off, Mike's and Don's weapons kind of suck, I don't mind the pupils but in the new show they don't have pupils when in battle (weird) so it could have gone either way. I agree that the shells are better separated though. Also, the arms need printing!!! I've said that all before, but the point is... they could be a lot better.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

I theorize that Spiderman sets are always, build wise, terrible. I mean look at that pathetic building. And why do they pick such stupid minifigure choices? Dr. Doom is good. But Nova and that fly guy I forget the name of? Where's Scorpio? Rhino? Hobgoblin? The Kingpin? Any X-Men hero or Villain? It seems to me there are 100x better choices. So far my least favorite Super Heroes minifigure is the extremely plain and boring IronFist. These next guys will follow suit. -
There's no Casey because I don't think he's appearing in the first season of this new Ninja Turtles. Also, I don't really care myself. For some reason I've never liked the guy. Anyways, I still have yet to actually start customing minifigures but I want to later. I might throw an effort at these Turtles. Maybe try to dye them the proper colors and put on the missing details. As much as I like them it's still killing me that I'm constantly thinking that they could do much much better.

I think the huge prices have let me down. $160!? That's a $120 set maximum. Usually I'd say like $100 but the prices just keep going up and up. Anyways, I just hope for more Justice League stuff. The Flash, Green Lantern (I prefer Stewart), etc.

Why would you say that!? CAN'T UNSEE!!!

Darned freakin' exclusives. If anyone can get their hands on these... I'll buy them... for less than $100. lol all these things seem to go for $100 minimum these days. Actually, that Kraang is boring. I just want the Dark Turtle. For the love of God. Someone sell me it for $50. :P
-
They can look better, but they don't look bad. As I said in the other thread. Mike's weapon is ugly and sucks. They all the same shade of green for some reason. And they need arm printing. 7.5/10 can be better. I'll still buy 'em though...

They seem to have miniaturized the Tumblr and Bat... Still... I want those minifigures. :P -
I think the Turtles are okay. I'm excited. However, I don't think the minifigures are as good as they can be. For one... I really think they need their own unique individual skin tones... They're not all the same shade of green! Two... they need arm printing. They are really lacking their arm cover thingies... Three... Mike's weapon... they need BETTER Nunchucks those look really stupid. Don's is kind of stupid too but I can easily replace that with something better looking that exists. There's no good Lego Nunchucks and I can't think of a good way to make them without them appearing equally ridiculous. Also, besides the Turtles and Shredder I don't care. That Dogpound is no Bebop and Rocksteady replacement. The new generic Kraang are worse than the old awesome one man show Kraang.

Actually in the new CGI show they go to white when it battle seemingly and they have pupils when not fighting.

New joining technique? Inverting studs with cheese slopes
BrickG replied to Pingles's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I saw this on reddit too. It's a good technique. I already have run into this issue before many times and now I know how to fix it much more easily. -

Plus besides Gwen Stacy the new movies really had no point to being made (Gwen is 100x more interesting that boring stupid Mary Jane). It wasn't a lot better. A lot of people thought it was worse. It just seemed pointless. The first two of Toby's were good. A quick reboot that wasn't substantially better like the Batman movies did... bleh... Toby had a better Peter Parker. The new guy had a better Spiderman I guess (worse costume). I guess it would be good business for Lego but I don't think Megablocks is going to let their license leave them. I think Lego got the better end of the stick with the two best Super Hero movies this year (by FAR), Avengers and next year Batman Rises. -
Geeze then there's the possibility of more exclusive and massively overpriced TMNT minifigures that really make me hate Lego because I can never have them (can't justify spending so much). Watch them be something awesome like Bebop and Rocksteady... :P
-
This is frustrating me. Why are they waiting so long? I don't think I've wanted to see set reveals so badly. I'm really interested to see if they screwed up or did good on the TMNT sets. I'm checking multiple times a day for news... yet it never comes. :( Same goes for Lego Cuusoo... they said it wouldn't be months. LIES!

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
BrickG replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Me too. I watched several episodes. It's so bad I got caner and died. Well, almost. Seriously, it's terrible. Spectacular Spiderman had something adults who don't enjoy kids shows can enjoy. It's that magic something that some shows like SpongeBob, Avatar (both series), Teen Titans, etc have. Those are great shows. This show... dear god... And a bike doesn't freakin' need web shooters. I'll buy the Lego sets because not all Spiderman is bad. I'll just pretend it's not based off that horrible cartoon if the minifigures are good enough. -

I still don't see the point of it! He can go pretty freakin' fast just slinging. Fast enough to catch up to cars. Plus he can cut through buildings and doesn't have to stick to the streets. He doesn't have to contend with New York traffic, with that cycle he does... It's not like there are a lot of open roads to take advantage of a motorcycle's speed around those parts. -
What DC/Marvel Hero/Villain Do You Most Want To See Made In LEGO?
BrickG replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in LEGO Licensed
I got my most wanted. Superman. Now it's just fun additions. I in general just want more of the Justice League at this point. Maybe some Teen Titans. All incarnations of Robin including the Red Hood. Rash'al'ghul. Hawkgirl. The Flash. Wonder Woman with actual bracelets (IMO it was a misstep to not include them at least printed on). I'll take anything. I'm less interested in Marvel but wouldn't mind seeing more X-Men. Juggernaut would be awesome. -

Why the heck does Spiderman need a Motorcycle? And where would he stash it? He doesn't have a cave. Someone is going to notice if Spiderman continually drives out of Peter Parker's house. -
The new CGI toon 99% chance. I highly doubt the old classic cartoon will get much. It's just too old and not their target audience. As for the Micheal Bay movie, last I heard it was still indefinitely delayed and will not make it out next year due to a horrible script (a version of it leaked, go read it, it's horrible). If we're all lucky the movie will be canned completely. Micheal Bay is the worst thing to happen to movies. So yeah, it's not based on the movie that's stuck in limbo. Currently it's been rescheduled as a 2014 release. If it releases with any involvement from Micheal Bay it'll suck. There will be no hope.
