The show is pretty good for a kid's show. It's not to the level of shows like the Airbender series but I'm surprised I wasn't less engaged in it. *spoilers for the new series* (highlight to make your eyes not bleed) Edit by Staff- "Let's not chance the eye bleeding. Spoiler tags for you." 8/10 And why this is on topic: I was afraid I'd hate it and then not want to buy the Legos anymore. So far I think it's pretty good if I ignore some of the stupid kiddie nonsense. I still look forward to the sets and hope they SHOW THEM ALREADY!

I highly doubt TMNT stuff has been leaked. We'd have seen it already... Someone freakin' leak this stuff! DO IT!
-
Me too. Lego has been going crazy with all these non-standard heads. I mean, sometimes it's fine. Like with Chewie it makes sense. I don't see why the Ninja Turtles need one.

Well then. First new cowl < Old Cowl < Newer New Cowl. Seems like a rather obvious mistake to make.

I was about to say the new mask is superior if it wasn't for the head printing not being aligned properly. At this point... I think the new one is just better. It's less bulky and blocky. It's just shaped nicer. However, I don't actually own one of the new ones. I bought the new DC sets in their entirety way before these even existed so I'll have to wait for the next wave to own one of these newer ones. I might change my mind when I have it in my hands. I'm also wondering what they look like cowlless, new print vs old. Did they significantly lower or raise the mouth? If it's too low he might not have a chin anymore.

I'm sick of the lack of females in ALL Lego except Friends which... I'm not into. Seriously, it's still like 98% males. I think we've reached the point where child boys can play with girl characters... I'd go as far to say that Lego feels a bit sexist. The girl sets are ultra stereotypical girly. The regular "boy" sets rarely have females at all. Heck, in that Superman lego set it's ridiculous... We get a Wonder Woman! A female super hero! But the theme and story behind it is that she needs rescuing from a Kryptonite powered suit that Lex is controlling... That's SUPERMAN'S weakness... it's more likely that Superman would be captured and Wonder Woman would have to rescue him instead of playing the damsel in distress...

I don't mind if they're previews to future minifigures. Superman and Batman saw release and Bilbo will too. But they're not sometimes. They're flat out exclusive much of the time. We'll probably never see a Bizzaro or Pheonix and if we ever do it'll be years. We still haven't seen a Green Lanturn probably because the movie bombed. Exclusive characters are painful (or completely new takes on characters like Symbiote Spiderman). I can live with a different Batman that doesn't match it perfectly as long as they offer the character.

To put something incredibly simply (over simplified) basically the culture in China tends to be very conformy and again, to oversimplify, this leads to a real lack of innovation which also encourages people to just steal. The cultural mentality also often doesn't think of this as an issue. It's almost unethical to not steal ideas :P. I mean, heck look at their military. Their jets and crap are all trying to be carbon copies of other country's stuff in every aspect. Copying is ingrained in so many aspects of the country that most people there don't even really think it's an issue. It's only going to get worse too as China continues to catch up with everyone else. I completely oversimplified this. I explained it poorly. I'm tired and don't care. :P The issue won't go away either. They have whole theme parks and billions upon billions of $$$ invested in stolen properties.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

I'd be more interested in the Ultimate Spiderman sets if the cartoon wasn't so much worse than the Spectacular Spiderman was. That show was turning into another legendary show. This new Spiderman that replaced it is... crap. It really, really is. I mean the Spectacular Spiderman was written in a style that appealed to everyone. It was more intelligent (as far as kids shows go). This new one... is none of that. So, I bought one Spiderman set just for the Spiderman Minifigure. If more come out I'll likely ignore them unless they have awesome minifigures. I mean, Ironfist... not even on my top 100 list and the visual interpretation of Doc Oc isn't near my favorite. I feel Ultimate Spiderman is one of the weaker Spiderman shows/movies that has come out so far. -

I think Christmas is irrelevant to new sets. Lego practically sells out everywhere in the US around that time no matter what. In a way it probably clears out all their older sets and stock just in time for the new sets to arrive. I theorize that putting the new sets just before the holidays wouldn't actually make that much of a difference considering the impressive sales they get around that time anyways. And a ton of stores get January sets in December anyways. -
I hate these things. As someone who wants to COMPLETE collections I just feel screwed. They're meant to give Lego attention but just make me angry at them. I can't let myself spend $100 on a single minifigure (and Marvel had FOUR....) so I can't complete my collection. Bad feelings all over. I really wish they wouldn't release exclusives like this...

Ultrabuilds suck. If I wanted a real action figure I'd get an actual action figure. Not one that looks incredibly deformed. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Part of the problem is that so many writers make the mistake of comparing him to freakin' Jesus. Make him more human, not less. He's just a good guy, good guys aren't impossible to write for (there's characters like Peter Parker which mostly fit the bill). Jesus guys are impossible to relate to. Anyways, I can discuss Superman for a long time though I don't think the mods want me derailing this thread... So back on topic. Lego Superman! Don't suck! Where's your underpants? I hope you don't pick up a Lego-Kryptonite mountain after being owned by a small sliver of the stuff! -

Hmmmm... 3 Superman sets. Sounds good. I hope the movie doesn't suck. Superman is so easy to screw up... 98% of writers write him wrong which is why a lot of people fine him boring. I still... hate the lack of undies... I know nothing of this villain. I hope we get some non-movie villains too. -
My problem with Cuusoo is they take so long to give us news! Come on what "won"!?

Are we not getting any sets from the first two movies? Joker in that style... "How about a magic trick? I'm gonna make this Lego Brick disappear!" -
If you get it now is a good time. It's $11 at Amazon.com (47% off). At that price I'm considering it even though I don't like the minifigure.
-
Your scene is neat. Though I give zero fudges about this minifigure. 99% of the obscure alternative Batman costumes were made just to sell more toys and imo have no depth or content or value.
-
Yeah, usually we hear of these "January" sets by now. I'm hoping the rumors aren't false. That would massively suck. I'm hoping it's just because of contracts or something. Maybe they might wait until TMNT actually premiers.
-
You know you could have waited for them to throw it away then gone to get it from their trash for free?

Star Trek Doctor Who Nintendo Star Trek - Not enough potential toy money probably, no series out, I want TOS, TNG, DS9 ones but the chances of them doing that are almost zero since they're long dead. The only slim chance is one based on the new movies which, while I really enjoy (the one that's out :P) I'd rather have Lego of the older ones... Doctor Who - Character Building owns this franchise license and Lego cannot get their hands on it if they even wanted to. Lego Cuusoo saw the automatic closing of a Doctor Who project that was going places because they said they can't get the license. Nintendo - I guess this has the biggest chance. I'd want to see mainly Zelda. Their history is complicated though so who knows. Nintendo used to be a direct competitor and made Lego knockoffs. Some franchises are owned by other companies (Mario Kart stuff might be considered competition). Sales wise I'm not sure how well Zelda would sell when a main game comes out only once every like 5 years and we're currently probably 4 away from the next console Zelda since the masterful Skyward Sword came out somewhat recently. Other franchises Nintendo owns would be tougher sells. Donkey Kong probably wouldn't sell enough. Metroid even less. Pokemon... massively popular even today and in Toys too but it's hard to imagine how you make Lego out of Pokemon. You couldn't really have it minifigure based unless you gave each of the freakin' 650ish Pokemon unique molds (and yes, I demand that if they did that they'd have to release ALL the Pokemon :P). Zelda has the biggest chance.

Does this include the Hobbit? Because I really count LorRs and the Hobbit in the same set of movies, therefore the same franchise. If so... I'd "guess"... 79000 Mystery of the Ring 79001 Fleeing from the Mirkwood Spiders 79002 Attack of the Wargs 79003 An Unexpected Gathering 79004 Escape in the Barrels 79010 The Orc King http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/The_Hobbit basically the stuff in here. ;)

I think it makes sense. NinjaGo might even be back after TMNT is done. You can't really have two NINJA themes going on at the same time... that's weird and they'd compete with each other to a certain degree. And this is business, Lego might see potentially more $$$ out of TMNT so they might be willing to take the risk. We don't know the details. If Ninjago was REALLY that profitable they wouldn't let it go, but they are. That says something. I guess it's possible they were forced to for some reason, like TMNT was contracted before Ninjago got somewhat popular. But we don't know the details. They're ditching Ninjago. That much is certain. TMNT seems to be true too.

Chewie's minifigures have changed like once. I wants one with proper colored in eyes, maybe a better colored chest thingy and a proper Crossbow that's not a Crossbow with an arrow on top (if I'm not mistaken they still use this...). Basically comparing the current chewie to other minifigures of the same style like the new Gamorrean_Guard (which I like) it doesn't seem quite up to par. Maybe if I saw those Wookiee eyes and teeth.. vs

Lego Cloud City 10123 is a good example. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-LEGO-STAR-WARS-CLOUD-CITY-10123-GRADED-AFA-9-0-CLASSIC-SERIES-/221118362467?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337bae7363#ht_2672wt_1163 This is what I see when I see graded things: Things that people value ridiculously high. It doesn't validate the prices. It validates the fools who are willing to pay those prices. You can find this set ungraded, new inside the box, in good condition for like $800. On a lucky day I've seen it go for $500. This one is graded so it's suddenly worth 12x as much? Yes, it's only one example. But it's something I see all the time. And for Lego it seems even less accurate. Grading is an excuse to charge too much. And most graders I know of also assign a value. Not all. Not sure how common it is with Lego toys.
