  1. The Roboriders went straight to my son, who loves that sort of thing. He'll put them to good use. I have to say, they are kind of neat.
  2. Walter Kovacs is the real life (almost the true alter-ego) name of Rorschach in the Watchmen comic book series. Rorschach is without a doubt my favorite comic book character, all time, and I've been using Walter as my alter-ego screen name for years now. If you haven't before, find the graphic novel and read it. It is well worth your time. If you have, well, read it again.
  3. Hrm, favorite upcoming minifig? It would have to be between Luminara and Shaak Ti. Since it is more likely that I will get the Geonosis set than the T-6, I'll go with Luminara Unduli as favorite upcoming minifig.
  4. I think the only question that needs to be asked is: "When do we eat?" Fantastic MOC, Rook.
  5. Really great work, marshall_banana. FallenAngel does have some valid criticisms, though. The engines should sit higher on the wing and/or be a bit larger. And the laser cannons on the end of the wings should be larger (probably 2 x 2) at the wing. I'd ignore his bit about the wings being too thick, though. I love the way the wings look. And the windscreen is fantastic.
  6. Second duel that went to Sudden Death in a row. Well, the die is cast. My DS has been sent.
  7. Not a new piece, but looks to be in a new color.
  8. Round 3 Johann Peterschmut vs Frankfurt Flashburn Health - 4 Health - 4 Crucio - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Mid - 0 Mid - 0 High - 0 Mid - 1 Expelliarmus - 0 Stupefy - 0 Low - 0 Low - 0 Health - 3 Health - 4 Johann Peterschmut and Frankfurt Flashburn stare at each other across the platform, each daring the other to make the next move. The crowd of students falls silent as the tension reaches a crescendo. Frankfurt is the first to flinch, faking a simple hex but changing it quickly into the disarming charm. Johann, tricked by the feint, tries his Crucio curse, but fails. Retreiving his wand quickly, he fires a hex at the young Hufflepuff, but misses wildly as a return shot also misses. Frankfurt quickly fires another hex, this one landing and sendingthe Slytherin flying backward. In an attempt to regain his footing, Johann disarms his adversary before he could finish a terible charm. Quickly the boys fire off one last volley, but the hexes meet in a shower of sparks. Before either one can get off another shot, Professors McGonagall and Flitwick arrive to restore order. Both boys will surely face stiff punishment. Winner: Frankfurt Flashburn DS sent. Hopefully this round will go better than the last.
  9. Since this is a youngling I'm facing, I will not be using Sabre Throw or Flurry against him. Combat Mastery is passive, however. DS sent. And I accept your challenge, Darth Aiklimacz. Expect no quarter from me.
  10. Round 2 Johann Peterschmut vs Frankfurt Flashburn Health - 5 Health - 4 High -0 High - 0 Crucio - 0 Stupefy - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Mid - 0 Mid - 0 Low - 1 Low - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Health - 4 Health - 4 Tired of waiting, Johann fired a curse at his opponent's head. Frankfurt was so busy dodging, he couldn't even manage a return spell. Again, the Slytherin tried his Cruciatus curse. But Frankfurt had seen this before, and was ready with his Stupefy yet again. The Hufflepuff attempted a shot aimed at the shoulder, but found his wand suddenly missing. Frantically diving for it, he turned and caught Johann in the legs with a hex. Needing time to get to his feet, he quickly disarmed the Slytherin, and they gathered their thoughts while the crowd in the background chanted "Fight! Fight! Fight! ..." Send me your Round 3 DS when ready, gentlemen.
  11. Johann Peterschmut vs Frankfurt Flashburn Health - 5 Health - 5 Mid - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Low - 0 Low - 1 Mid - 0 Crucio - 0 Stupefy - 0 Proptego - 0 Mid - 0 Health - 5 Health - 4 Frankfurt Flashburn was waiting patiently to board the Hogwarts Express when he heard someone say "Frankfurt!" in a low growl. Frankfurt's wand was in his hand, and he was chanting his Expelliarmus hex before he finished turning around. When he finished turning, he was face to face with Johann Peterschmut, apparently intent on avenging an earlier slight. Johann retrieved his wand, and the combatants began slowly circling to the right as the other students on the platform gave them room. The Hufflepuff tried a shot to the legs, but the Slytherin was too fast, quickly disarming his foe. Before Frankfurt could recover, a curse caught him in the legs, knocking him to the ground. Johann pressed his advantage, trying the unforgivable Crucio curse, but Frankfurt fired off a hex of his own, stunning the Slytherin. Sensing his own advantage, Frankfurt fired a hex, but it caught nothing but Johann's Protego charm. The boys resumed circling each other, waiting for the right moment to strike... Send me your Round 2 DS whenever you're ready.
  12. I agree with KielDaMan. The creature's skinny legs aren't too much of a deterrent. The cave looks great as well. I just wish there was one picture of the entire MOC. It looks like there is some detail behind the creature that I'd like to see more of, and I wouldn't mind seeing the warriors and creature together.
  13. Fantastic work Sandy. It's a shame that some parts are were so fragile, because the beanstalk/rainbow are truly stunning. I'd have to say that Hansel & Gretel area is probably my favorite area, though it is a hard choice.
  14. If it has aliens, human minifigs and some interesting set designs, I'll be happy. Actually, I'd be happy with just the interesting set designs. Minifigs (human and other) would just be bonuses.
  15. I'll ADJ, if you'll have me. Send in your DS when ready.
  16. Wow, this model is amazing. It looks great in car mode, but the fact that it can transform so accurately is what really blows me away.
  17. This looks really good. Any plans on actually building it? I haven't watched Red Dwark in years. It used to come on right after Doctor Who Sunday nights on PBS. I think I saw everything through the end of the fifth season. My favorite lines had to be at the end of the second season: Female Rimmer (to the Listers): How could you sleep with yourself? Make Rimmer: Why break the habit of a lifetime? Classic
  18. Amazing as always, Legostein. I love that you included the box on the back side. The bottom of the cockpit is well conceived as well (though perhaps a stud too long?). So are you going to tackle set 928 - Galaxy Explorer in the near future? Or perhaps you will surprise us with 6980 - Galaxy Commander.
  19. I'll try and get some of the images uploaded this weekend. I'd like to render them in POVRay first (they look much better that way). Brickshelf still allows .ldr and .mpd files to be uploaded, right? All of my files are .mpds, mostly because of the scale of UCS sets.
  20. If I had that kind of cash lying around, I'd make an offer. Rest assured, I don't. Unless you think the seller might take an offer of $100?
  21. I don't remember what my first title said, exactly. Something like: UCS TIE Master Craftsman, though I'm certain KimT bestowed that one on me. My current title: Rorschach, is an obvious reference to my screen name. I have no clue who changed it, but I am not complaining.
  22. Over the weekend the wife dragged me to a used toy sale. We picked up five of the six RoboRider sets (8509, 8510, 8511, 8512 & 8514), 8537 Nui-Rama, 8548 Nui-Jaga, 8594 Jaller & Gukko, 8595 Takua & Pewku, 8621 Turaga Dume & Nivawk and 8626 Irnakk. All for around $60. The shame of it is that they also had the Exo-Toa, Manas Crab and Nidhiki sets as well. And those three sets go for a small fortune on BL (well, maybe not Nidhiki).
  23. Ber'Gin'Yon has been in retirement since his beatdown in The Chosen One finals. But since I'm getting active in Wizard's duel, I might as well bring him out of retirement. Any one game? Kal Herdeer, I see you have issued a challenge. I promise to go easy on you
  24. Well, it's a start. Round 2 DS sent.
  25. I've got the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer, UCS TIE Interceptor (although I think this one is using all light gray parts as opposed to the blue) and the UCS Blockade Runner done. I think I have the Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring laying around somewhere as well. Do you need the files uploaded to something like Brickshelf and then linked here, or is there another protocol I need to use? Edit: I also have the UCS X-Wing done, it looks like. And the UCS Y-Wing is about half done.
