At least the video answers some of the burning questions about the V-Wing. The pilot's helmet is open in the front, and you have to remove the astromech's head to put it into the ship. I wish the person who did the review could have at least shown how the wing mechanism works. While the video isn't exactly great, it is better than nothing. I still look forward to a competent review, but for right now this looks like a buy for me. If God had wanted us to listen to crap odd music, He wouldn't have given us mute buttons. Or something like that.

Junsier, that was his name. I'll have to check out Amun-Ra's version. Thanks FallenAngel.

For anyone thinking of buying parts to make this MOC for themselves: I just finished doing a better estimate. Using average new prices off of Bricklink, the total cost comes to $644 and some change. Now you can get better prices than average, especially if you go into used lots, but you also have to add in shipping costs, which are certainly not negligible. But I doubt you can finish this project off for less than $700, assuming you need to buy every brick. I would need to order 605 parts for an exorbitant $200 if I were going to try and build this. Obviously the parts I'm missing are the more expensive ones.

And hello to you, David. Just a friendly suggestion, paragraphs are your friends. I hope you enjoy the forums.

I remebered that you did a very nice version, but I thought Andi over on FBTB has also done several versions, improving it every time. I could be wrong though. Someone over there had done 9 versions, I do remember that. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't cavegod or Anio. BTW, cavegod's version is also very well done. I think I've said that before.

The $0.10 per part is a pretty fair estimate for a first pass, on average. So at 5300 parts, I'd say it's going to cost around $530 off of Bricklink, plus the cost of shipping from several dozen vendors (unless you honestly think you can find a BL seller with every part necessary). Now, that price can change depending on the size of the pieces used (1 x 1 round studs are dirt cheap, large plates run much more that $.10/part), but evrything should average out. I'd wager that when everything is said and done, the total bill will be upwards of $700 USD. Now if you already have a significant amount of the pieces, then your out of pocket costs are going to be much lower. But no one is going to be able to estimate that but you.

Also, do we still have the Senator locked up, or is he wandering around with us? -
KielDaMan's JSF Collection Version 2.0
Walter Kovacs replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice work, KDM. I like Plo's JSF best, but only because it has the most interesting pattern and a good color scheme (Kit's, while interesting, is just a bit too jarring). I like the fact that you got the R2 units facing the right way. Too bad you can only fit the head and not the bodies. -
That's what he meant. He used Polo's MLCad file and built Polo's Venator. Exactly the same (well, there might be slight changes; I know I never get my MLCad instructions exactly right). Still, this is one excellent Venator MOC. Polo is obviously a very skilled builder. If I had the parts, I might try and build it as well. As it is, I'm quite a few pieces short.

This is a fantastic Slave I, Anio. Really great work. I'm no expert on the Slave I, so I'll refrain from giving any advice for improvements. Is there a storage compartment for the new Carbonite Han, by any chance? I was trying to find some other high quality UCS Slave I's to compare this to, just for kicks. This version compares favorably to everything I've seen. I remember someone on FBTB was Slave I obsessed, having done 9 versions of the ship last time I checked, but I didn't see any current threads about it. Anyone know where I could look, just for comparison's sake?

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
Walter Kovacs replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for the ADJ, KDM. That leaves only four duelists that I have never faced (ADHO, Tin7, cralegoboy and Oky) and only two I've yet to lose to (Pedro and Embo). -
I think FallenAngel hit the flaws right on the head. This model is very gappy, something the newer version fixed, somewhat. There are always going to be gaps when this type of technique is used. LEGO has gotten better at hiding the gaps with practice. When this set first came out, using plates at odd angles like this was new to the designers. The lack of space for clones is an issue, but even the new one suffers from the same problem, without modifications. Even with all it's flaws, I wouldn't mind having one in my collection.

Welcome to EB andibandit. I have half my basement available for LEGO and it still isn't enough room, possibly because the kids insist on playing in the same room. I'd love to see pictures of your UCS collection.

Welcome, Rainwind. I hope you enjoy it here. I think KDM handled all of your questions, so I'll just look forward to seeing you around the forums.

When looking through the 2010 thread, I saw vendor catalogs that said it was a January release. At least I assume it said January, it was in a foreign tongue that I don't understand. Let me see if I can find the post again. EDIT: Well, I couldn't find the post I was looking for, but I did find this one which clearly says February in English. Sorry for the confusion.

Since the Chief seems to be busy on the crapper, I'd like to use the combination to open the safe. -

The second floor is the Squad room and offices of the town council. Chief Phelps and Mr. Ackerson, since these are your offices perhaps you should go first? -
I love the spindly looking legs and arms. It really accentuates the insectoid feel. I'm pretty sure that the arms are a bunch of these retired parts.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Walter Kovacs replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
LSW I & LSW II had 17 and 18 main game levels, respectively. 20 is an upgrade, as far as I'm concerned. As long as the levels are long and well designed. -
This post is the earliest photo I could find for the Swamp Speeder in the 2010 Rumors thread. It's dated December 10, 2009, and the Swamp Speeder was a January release. So a month out sounds about right.
