Welcome, Strikeman. It's always nice to see a fellow MLCad user. There are far too many LDDers out there, and too few MLCaders. One thing you might try, though. I'm not sure what you are using to render your images, but if you are using POV-Ray, try adding Orthographic to the camera setup. It will take away the fish-eye lens effect that your renders have. I've found that this command needs to be first to work properly. e.g. Camera < Orthographic ...more stuff... > I think that's the proper syntax, at least.

Five deaths? Five? And neither of our convictions were scum. It was truly a dark night for this town. At least no one with a briefcase showed up. Small solace, to be sure, but we need to count every blessing we can right now. As for yesterday's *ahem* activities. We obviously have two people who started the voting, Mr. Adie and Mr. Wick. Of the two, I think Mr. Adie is the person most likely to be the victim of circumstance. It is possible that Jaun's death was a random killing by the mob, and that the fact that Ron told Horace about Jaun's ability the day before was a terrible coincidence. Mr. Wick, however, had very little evidence against Craig. And at least twice encouraged us to vote for two suspects. Now this is certainly not proof of guilt, and right now I have yet to decide to vote against him. I'd like to hear some more from both men before making my decision. Gentlemen, the floor is yours. Let me hear what you have to say for yourselves.

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
Walter Kovacs replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
As much as I hate losing, the only way I'm going to advance is by dueling. I'll take any comers. Anyone else game? To answer tha question about evil characters, mine was done for character reasons, just like all of my choices for Ber'gin'yon in Jedi Duel. Walter is more like a vigilante, resorting to evil acts, but deluding himself into thinking he's doing it for the greater good. -
Wow, this is stunning. Everytime I take another look, I see something I hadn't noticed before. Like the gold accents on the bow, and the lanterns midship. The hull is beautiful too. Any estimates on number of pieces used?

Red Scare Mystery -Confirmation and Discussion
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I keep coming up with questions as I re-read the chapters. Are PMs allowed in this game between players, if we need to have side conversations away from prying ears? There isn't anything in the rules against them, but they aren't encouraged, either. Shadows posted some things in Chapter 3A that definitely didn't belong in that chapter, but also don't look like they belong in Chaptr 3B either. Are we allowed to use that information, or does Shadows need to paraphrase what happened before it's a matter of public record? All of my other questions belong in one of the chapter threads, as they deal dirctly with the investigations. -
Happy Birthday, NovaStar. I hope your day is filled with LEGO.

If there's one thing I can do well, it's provide estimates for MOCs given a good parts list. Someday I'll actually finish my database off, and it will be even easier. EDIT: Wait, $650 is affordable? Man, I wish I had your LEGO budget.

Very nice personnel carrier, Praiter Yed. But the poem is absolute win I love Santa Porkins holding the turkey leg.

Red Scare Mystery -Confirmation and Discussion
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Just a guess, but it looks like whenever there is a natural break, a new chapter starts. For now it looks like a change in venues is the break, but that could change as the game moves on. -
Red Scare Mystery -Confirmation and Discussion
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thank you. I'm trying my best to stay in character. If and when Eurodina ever finishes, I'll be able to devote myself more fully to this game. Well, there goes my theory that Jack and Bob are communist spies. I'm looking forward to chapter four. -
Red Scare Mystery -Confirmation and Discussion
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
You've been doing a great job so far, Bob. I've had no complaints. Yet. I hope you didn't mind my tirade against Congressman Bob. I thought it was in character. I actually toned it down quite a bit from my first draft. One series of questions, though. I didn't see any win condition for the players in the rules. I assume the game is over when all the commies are found, all the loyal townfolk are dead, or X-K2P goes off, whichever comes first. But how do we catch the commies? Do we PM a name we suspect to you? Is there a penalty for a wrong guess? Or is this a detail we will learn later in the game? Not that I can accuse anyone yet. Hopefully you can answer this: are the commies we are looking for player characters, or should we be suspecting NPCs as well? Because that Coast Guard Beauty was showing WAY too much flesh for the early '50s. Edit: One last question. We found a map near the lighthouse. Any possibility of generating a quick sketch, just so we I can orient myself. I find it easier to picture things like maps when I can see them. It would be nice if all the possible places for investigation that were mentioned in Chapter 1 were on the map. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
Walter Kovacs replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
To explain further, Crucio and Stupefy cancel each other. Because both duelists have Natural talent, that effect also cancels each other. It's as if neither had the talent. Now if only one duelist had natural talent, then that person would score a hit if Stupefy and Crucio were used at the same time. Or Crucio vs Crucio, etc. -

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Walter Kovacs replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
True, but not every episode is worthy of getting their own level. There are lots of episodes where diplomacy is the center, which doesn't fit in with an action game. Besides, they has to leave some material for LSW IV I'd expect only the biggest story arcs to get their own levels or series of levels. The Malevolence will span a few levels. The Death Watch arc will likely get a level, maybe two. Expect story arcs that spanned several episodes in the show to be compressed into one level in the game. I sincerely hope that the levels are long and well thought out. Some of the levels in HP 1-4 seemed awfully short. Then again, in HP 1-4 there was a lot to do outside of the levels. A lot was hidden in Hogwarts itself. The same concept in LSW III might be nice. -
When I read the story off of the AP wire, it said that Qatar is planning on air-conditioning all of the stadiums so that the excessive heat doesn't affect the players or the fans. They have that kind of money, but we'll see if they follow through on the promise. It will be interesting how that culture handles the alcohol and the attire of the female fans that are bound to show up at the event. I wonder how much Russia's hosting of the Olympics factored into their World Cup bid. Surely some of the Olympic venues can be re-used or re-fitted for the World Cup.

Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Three-A
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
A couple of problems there. I doubt X-K2P is an A-bomb. The letter for President Truman mentions that this plan involves a cover up. A huge mushroom cloud in the middle of Delaware is far from subtle. Add to that the fact that the National Guard might be caught in the blast radius. I still think a poison gas is most likely. Not that it matters. Mass killings are still mass killings, and I still find it reprehensible that our government would even consider it. Second, there is no way that a second shadowy figure could have killed the first CIA man. Jack was talking with Congressman Bob and I in the Department Store when the rest of you were investigating the Hotel. Plus Bob has already said that Jack was the one who was stealing records from Town Hall. Now the big question I have here is this. Why would a CIA agent be stealing records from a small town in Delaware? Some other questions I have. Why would the Communists set up shop inAlabatha? What kind of information can they get here that they couldn't elsewhere? Is our town just a way station, and other spies are bringing information here so that it can be transmitted to the USSR? Perhaps through our port? Information put onto a ship where it can be picked up later? I'm not sure. There doesn't seem to be any reasons for anything right now. Just keep the main questions in the back of your minds as we look for clues. Why are the Commies here? What is the information that they are gathering/transmitting? Who are the Commies (obviously the big question)? How are they moving the information (assuming that they are trying to move information)? These questions should help point us to our suspects, or at least direct our investigations. I still haven't heard what the other team has found in the Department Store. Anyone care to fill in those of us that were in the Town Hall? -
Clone Wars Troopers by The Clone Factory

I don't think I have much to add that hasn't already been said. These look truly stunning. Excellent work, clonefactory. -
Oh it might have been discussed once or twice. EDIT: Bah, I can't find the discussion in this thread. It's in here somewhere, I promise.

Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Three-A
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
All right, now that we are all together, I suppose that we should share information. X-K2P is a plan to wipe out our town if we fail to catch the Red Commie Bastards. There is a secret tunnel with an entrance somewhere in the basement of Town Hall; we have not found the entrance yet. The CIA is already in town, and has likely cut off communications with the outside world already. The person you chased to the Department store is part of the CIA, and not a Communist, as far as we know. We have not searched the third floor of Town Hall, nor the roof. There could be clues still there. Senator Bob has an escape plan worked out ahead of time. You can hate him for that, and I won't blame you if you do, but he is still a US Senator, and valued ally. So treat him with respect. None of us have eaten any lunch today. I suggest we grab a quick dinner and return to our investigations. Over dinner we can discuss what to investigate next and how to divide our resources. Also, if someone could summarize everything we have found thusfar. Sometimes restating something in a different way helps us to fit the pieces together. Let's talk about it over dinner. -
If you watch the video again (remember: Mute is your friend ), you can see two black beveled gears on one side of the ship (if the engines are towards you, it would be the right side). This is the mechanism for turning the wings. It looks like there is an L-shaped Technic piece on the other side that will act as a stop so that the wings don't go too far. I'm not sure how much friction there will be to hold the wings upright, though. EDIT: Gen. Magma beat me to it. Curse him! Also, I added a link to the piece I mentioned.

Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Three-A
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
What the hell is this Bob? WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN, BOB!?! Is this how the government handles problems now? Kill everyone, dead men tell no tales? How long have you known about this, Bob? When were you going to let us know? You weren’t, were you? You were never going to let us know. Let me guess, you already have an escape plan, don’t you. Plan XYZ, extract the senator, and megabluck the rest of Alabatha. Do you think our lives are not worth saving. Is that it? Where the hell is the CIA? Where’s the FBI? Is J. Edgar Hoover too busy harassing movie stars in Hollywood to come and find some real Communists? So instead the government sends Matt “I couldn’t find my own megablocks with two hands and a flashlight” Liebenston and has some megablocks backup plan of “We tried, now kill everyone”? Is that how things work in Washington nowadays? How long do we have Bob. How long do we megablocking have until every man, woman and child in Alabatha is silenced forever? So how are they going to do it? Guns? No, too much of a mess. An atomic bomb is out, they said this was a cover up, and an A-Bomb isn't very discrete. Poison Gas? Poison everyone just before dawn, so that everyone dies in their sleep. I'll bet there are scientists trying to predict the wind patterns right now, so that no other towns meet the same fate. Isn't that right, Bob? This is my town, Bob, and never forget that. I took an oath to protect and serve this town, and I will never, NEVER forsake that oath, nor will I betray the trust that the good people of Alabatha have placed in me. I will fight for the rights and the lives of everyone in town to my last, dying breath. I’m sorry you had to hear that Mrs. Jefferson. Mrs. Jenkins. Stevie and Gloria. I usually don’t lose control of my emotions like that. It takes something extraordinary, and this is something goddamn extraordinary. I suggest we meet with the other group and decide our next move. While we are out let’s get some food. I’m sure no one is hungry, but we need to keep our strength up. And someone put a pot of coffee on. We’re going to need it. We have some Reds to catch. This town is apparently too important for CIA Director Smith. Jack Howard was the CIA agent that "abducted" Congressman Bob and I. I'm sure the cargo ship is carrying X-K2P. And good for you, James. I hope the rest of the town follows your lead. From now on the good citizens of Alabatha are on our own. We have some Communists among us. Lets find them before it is too late.
