Parts from 10181 Eiffel Tower 10181
Badsneaker replied to Badsneaker's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
SOLD, please close thread. Thanks dhaas06! -
Thank you Otters! I probably wouldn't have thought yellow would work until I saw your flower shop way back. If you click on any of the pics, it should bring you to my webshots folder. The lower section is only tiled in the bypass corridor on the left. The 2 upper floors were tiled with staicases. No lighting/furniture etc. Here's a pic of the yellow building's predecessor: It doesn't have as much detail as the yellow one, same roof though.

Me too! I love the fish! Clever building Mariko!
-
Thank you Milan- I was nervous about yellow. This is my favorite (and easiest) roof. I'm not a planner though, I just start building and tweakng till I get something I like. Thanks Christopher!! Thanks Bluebard, I enjoy looking at your great MOC's too! Mariko your buildings have great personality!

With all the talk about the new CC style building in possibly yellow, I wanted to share my yellow CC style MOC: Its got lots of bluish grey and dark bluish grey to offset the brightness of the yellow. I hope you like it, comments, feedback, and criticism always welcome!

I thought the same thing about using yellow as a main color for a modular building- TOO BRIGHT! Here's my take on it and it actually looks pretty neat if you use enough grey to break it up a little:

Wow! Really nice looking boats!

Looks good. I would duplicate the 3rd floor for the 2nd floor. I often run into the same situation on a 3 story building. So I usually make the 2nd and 3rd floors the same. Like this pizza shop I made, I did the 2nd and 3rd floors identical. I think it adds uniformity to the overall building design. And this Police Station: If you have enough bricks and windows, try it and see what it looks like.

Thanks for everyones comments! I thought about a slanted roof, but it didn't seem right with the blockish-ness of the building design.

I made this medium blue modular apartment house a few nights ago and wanted to share it with my friends here at Eurobricks:

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Badsneaker replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I would love to see the Pirates calendar. -
You may want to contact Jennifer Finch. She co-created PEERON. http://www.bricklink.com/aboutMe.asp?u=LPBricks I buy LEGO from her Bricklink store. She may have some insight, although I'm not sure if she is still involved in the site.

Badsneaker replied to KillaGorilla's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I called to today, they have 5000 in stock. Will be on sale for 2 weeks only. -
I got into trains at the R/C level. I have the Cargo train, passenger train, and hobby train. The Hobby train is modified to use the R/C engine platform. I'll post pics at some point. My City is in about 20 boxes since I moved last week. :(

Looks great! I love the twin outboards!

I love the ad for the 12V trains!

Getting girls to play with/buy LEGO
Badsneaker replied to FiletOFish's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have 2 daughters who are into Lego. My oldest is 10 and she is a tomboy. She doesn't play with the girl minifigs. On the flip side, my youngest is 7 and she adores the girl minifigs. I bought her the camper the other day and she loves it. She expresses high interest in sets if they include a girl minifig. She is not interested in Bellville, or any of the pink brick boxes aimed at girls. -
LOVE the bike racks!

MOC: What good is a town without a LEGO store...
Badsneaker replied to Modulex Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Nicely done! I love the use of the LEGO signs for the awnings! -
Unfortunately I just don't have the time to review. I could take some snaps and post them though if there is interest. Its a really great set for the money, almost as many pieces as the Model Town house, but 30.00 cheaper. I was thinking of picking up a few more just for the bricks and the new windows and shutters. It also sports a very cool sliding glass door. The roof actually splits in half like a doll house.
-
Anyone pick up the Family Home yet? I picked one up today at TRU for 59.99. Same price as SAH. Its been a great build with some very nice features. The piece count is excellent for the money.
-
I picked up the Creator Family Home and the Camper today at TRU. The Family Home is half built and its been a great build. Much better than the Model Town House as it has more playability with a nice sliding glass door to the patio, fireplace, and stairs to the upper floor. Excellent price for the amount of pieces.

I have for sale or trade 1 built 4954 Model town house. I have the box and instructions. The grey baseplates have been replaced with green. I paid a fairly hefty price on eBay and would accept offers over $120.00 or a trade for CC. They currently sell for about $150 on eBay, built or unbuilt. I am in the US and can ship worldwide. Paypal prefered and verified. (eBay user badsneaker, over 1200 FB 100% POS.) Also bought 7 Troll ships for SuvieD so if you need to check my rep, check with him. I will put it up on eBay if I don't get any offers here. I wanted to offer it here first to my LEGO enthusiast friends. Thanks! Jon

These are very nicely done. Very cool if you had 5 or six in a row in all bright colors. I hope you didn't mind me making a few of own!
