You're hoping the Ghost one was a one-off, but that going forward Rebels Stormies will look MORE like those in the show? Does not compute... they're OT-style stormies, it's already been proven as well as can be without Leland Chee or Filoni, Kinberg, or Plunkett popping up to confirm it, and with the other characters not really being stylized it makes the most sense to just churn out OT stormies by the dozen for Rebels sets & OT sets alike (preferably with leg printing as well!). But we've beaten this dead Ewok's corpse plenty over the last however many weeks...

Any reference for that? Screencap or something? -
If Sarah doesn't dig the concept, tho, there's always another way to go...move the shop elsewhere! It might necessitate changing the story a bit, too, but if it clashes too much with Ruadh, and especially since it's just an interior vignette, there's not really much reason it must be in Ruadh, is there?

Strange... or, maybe, as has been suggested before, the Ghost one will turn out to be a one-off and the rest will be movie-style. Or the promo just used the OT Lego Stormie design instead of the Ghost one because it was handy.

"...the moon on the breast of the new SNOTted snow gave the luster of midday to the battle below..." Beautiful Hoth scene! The trench, weapon emplacements, troops, the firing laser from the AT-AT... love it!

Wonkiness could just be due to them being preliminary... even if the final art matches the angles & poses for the most part, it could wind up looking very different and will likely have a lot more time put into it. As for the bulky speeders, that's due to their being based on old ROTJ concept art... longer, wider than the bikes we ultimately got in the movie. Here's a link to several sketches, the one in the show seems like an amalgam of a couple different designs (unless I just couldn't find the exact one)... bits of NRJ as well as Joe Johnston (just to reinforce that not everything based on old concept art in the show is based on McQuarrie art!)

World of Warcraft figures by KeteR_u_S

As much as I admire what Mega Bloks tried to do (they got a lot of the look right), I'd much rather have Lego WoW, even if it means the armor wouldn't be as big a deal. Keep skin color off torsos, and prints can give us loads of armor variety over time... if such a thing were to happen, I'd love for Lego to start by releasing sets with orcs & humans (naturally), but then draenei, dwarves, trolls, and Forsaken--hitting the races MB never touched. A pipe dream, I know... too much variety, too many new weapons molds to keep hungry WoW fans satisfied ("What?! Another boring axe blade clipped to a bar? Where's my Gorehowl, dangit!" "Gorehowl? Why does Varian have a gold longsword? And why does Thrall have a brickbuilt Doomhammer? There's not even any printing on the pieces!" "I wanna know why this hunter has an old pirate musket instead of the Nesingwary 4000!")... but oh, how I'd love to see it happen. Great mod of the Even Piell headgear into a WoW Goblin! The goggles and backpack look great. What's next? I'm hoping by the thread title this is a series! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

I meant they could do a similar kinda thing to give barefoot halflings, not that the Simpsons' short legs could be used for halflings directly (or I'd have scooped up a few extras), if what I'd read about the process (layered colors) was accurate. Even if it wasn't, SDCC Rocket has different-colored feet compared to his pants. Printing, molding, however they do it it'd be nice to have short barefoot legs for Fantasy-esque halflings and kids (barefoot ragamuffins! City kids playing in sprinklers or at an open fire hydrant!) -

I'm not worried about a barefoot Halfling not matching Frodo & Friends... Those guys are fleshies, a CMF Halfling would fit in more with Castle Fantasy, like the CMF Elf Warrior... The more Tolkien-esque, D&D/WoW-type races pop up in CMFs (or better yet, a sequel to Fantasy), the merrier! I'd even love a new Fantasy Troll in the CMFs--maybe a Troll Hero to counter the Evil Dwarf? In any case, a new expression for the red-eyed, tusked, sand-green-skinned orc stand-ins of Fantasy! -
To the first, October...or November...or January 1st. To the second, no... same as yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that....

Next year we'll have hover-car conversions, self-lacing shoes, and functional hoverboards by Mattel. The march of progress!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

Nice! Every now & then I'll think I have more Evil Knights & Minotaurs than I really do (6 of one, 4 of the other), and then wish I'd nabbed more... I got tired of standing around feeling the baggies every visit to a store with those figures. I've got about 50 (give or take a few) Fantasy trolls, tho. I'd go nuts on those Goblins... I've made my own short goblin race with TCW Weequay heads, but they'll gladly share the spotlight with a hefty pack of those pointy-hooded little maniacs! And now with the Simpsons' short multi-colored legs (and the SDCC Rocket Raccoon), maybe a Halfling with yellow feet is possible; too late for any Peter Jackson hobbits to get that treatment, but a Halfling Hero with bare feet? Yes, please! I'll take a dozen! -
Between the TIE logo snafu, and the odd name of what seems to be a regular ol' stormtrooper in the AT-DP set, I don't think we can clearly say anything one way or another... ...except that the Shadow Troopers aren't sporting Gandalf's torso Those are clearly ninja torsos!
-
Note the Green Lantern set... Sinestro's head is blank, his torso's a Master Builder's Academy torso, etc, and we've already seen the final versions of those figures! These were all taken awhile ago, and pretty much every one will differ in final form from what we see in the sets, aside from maybe Aquaman and Flash. Maybe one Superman will use the existing comic print, but I'm kinda expecting at least one to feature the New 52 outfit, and either of the non-space Batmen could be existing prints as well, but they also love making new tweaks to Batman. Her body is just the existing Comic Superman print, so that'll certainly change; the hair might as well! Superboy hasn't been a young version of Superman since pre-Crisis (and in various post-Crisis alternate universes). Connor Kent, aka Superboy, has been a clone of Superman mixed with human DNA (for a long while it was unknown who the human DNA was taken from--if it even mattered--then it was revealed to be Lex Luthor, which carried over into the Young Justice cartoon, but this origin was changed in the New 52).

Yup! Hopefully they'll have bley helmets (the same AT-ST/Veers/Kallus/old-DST-style helmets), and a printed head akin to the current V-wing pilot's. Edit: Yeah, I think he's wearing Tremor's helmet/armor from Ultra Agents right now. Can't be sure (seems like the imgur collection of hi-ish-res images is gone)
-
Glad I'm not the only one who got a WoW vibe off these... Darkshore, Darnassus, Azuremyst Isle all share a lot of the colors among these sets, and there's even the boat to ferry you between those three locations Those fence pieces are awesome! There's a lot to like in some of architecture and pieces involved; if only they weren't mini-dolls.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

I really want the Halfling and the cleaver-toting Goblin... And that Elven Archer lady (maybe conceptually too similar to Forest Maiden) and the armored Elvish(?) guy with the spear. -
It's got two AT-DP pilots, Agent Kallus, and "___ Stormtrooper" (I really wanna know what that word is, and why that stormie is labeled differently than other stormies in the wave) Yeah, it's Agent Kallus, we've known he'd be in that set for awhile now.
-
She's not shooting at Ezra, she's shooting at the stormie's bike! Noticed the Inquisitor has a helmet on (Ultra Agents' Tremor's helmet, obviously a stand-in). I've only seen it in Toy Fair pics of a Hasbro figure so far, but neat that they're including it! Kinda disappointed at the T-16 set; only one Tusken, and what seems another generic T-16 pilot (likely much nicer than the old one). Seems a missed opportunity to throw in an Anchorhead Biggs, if not as the pilot then as an additional figure. Not terribly crazy about the brick-built gaffi stick so far, either.
-
Hopefully we will get both (I barely pay attention to New 52, so I didn't remember he shunned the hat/hood... now I recall wondering "is Connor the main Green Arrow again?" when it started, and rolling my eyes at learning it was just a youthful Ollie). As for the Invisible Jet, last I heard anything about it (years ago) the comics had it as some sort of shape-shifting vehicle that could be whatever Diana needed; as such, and given the various Batmobiles we've had from Lego, I think a W-jet isn't unusual--and kinda appropriate for symbolism's sake. Hope it's the silver-trimmed WW this time like in the game!
-
I'd actually prefer the sleepytime hair they have pictured for Green Arrow (in tan or dark tan)... More versatile, and it's probably simple enough to get green or dark green hoods or Forestmen caps... but I won't be upset or anything if he does have a hood or cap. Great-looking bunch of DC sets! Still too many Batmen, but I expect different prints (even for the two Supermen; one New 52, one traditional/JLU perhaps? Guess it depends if Supergirl is New 52-style).
-
Woo hoo! Thanks! The Azure Angel looks better than I expected, and looks like it might be possible to remove the add-ons to turn it into a regular Delta-7B. Has exactly the figures I expected, too! Much of the top box art seems to have different character art than the front... for instance, the stormies in the Shadow Troopers set have gray faces, while the top seem like existing shadow stormies. Curious... The torsos seem like recolored ninja torsos on the front, shared between the stormies and shadow guards, marking them very much as preliminary, but the helmet deco is what interests me most now. I'd rather more black stormies than dark bley ones, at least with two-tone helmets like they depict (solid dark bley at least makes them suitable for Phase II Darktroopers, Battlefront-style). Also the MF Snowspeeder shows Luke on the front (obviously temporary) and what seems to be a recolored Luke helmet on the top... with the generic "Snowspeeder Pilot" name, I'm worried it won't be Janson or Hobbie. Things may change, and they could avoid a name like they have for many recent non-R2-D2 astromechs (Jedi Scout Fighter has one identical to R2-B1, there is probably an existing designation out there for the droid deco in the current V-wing set...) Another puzzling bit is the name of the stormtrooper in the AT-DP set; what precedes it? Looks like two separate words, so not just "Stormtrooper". The trooper in the Ezra's Bike set doesn't seem to share that longer name. Also, the trooper art on the front for a couple seems to show leg printing, despite the (perhaps still preliminary) stormies in the set art not having printed legs. In any case, hopefully all stormies not shadow-style will be like the ISD one, tho due to the strange name I guess the AT-DP one might be " Rebels-style".

Some of the hair might be interesting for expanding LOTR-style fleshie elves into a broader fantasy version of elves, maybe... Or using a sharpie on the ears to turn them into yellow-skinned hairpieces. Some new colorful pieces like the purple tree leaves or gold wings could be useful, and I wanna see a better pic of the purple-sailed boat... Could be nice if anyone wants to build stuff themed around Darnassus or the Exodar from WoW
-
Yeah, you only see Janson's helmet in ANH briefly as the pilot wearing it is exploding (used for a DIFFERENT pilot's death scene). If anyone has made a sticker/decal for the blast shield helmet's insignia, if it's clear-backed it can be used on a a plain white helmet to make the helmet of... Dorovio Bold, I think? But we have no "female" pilot head print to use, that I'm aware of, if that matters.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Venkefedo replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
If the valleys and tundra get too crowded, there's always room in the cavernous cities under the mountains! Just be careful, some ancient, lost settlements in the deep dark might now be home to less friendly folk than most of the great Dwarven clans...
