Good choices! A mohawk Young(ish) Dwalin would be great to see, and an Iron Hills Dwarf (or Moria Dwarf) with a pearl dark gray Gimli helmet would be wonderful, especially since the crest on Dain's helm isn't removable... I've seen customs of the Gimli helmet in a nice gunmetal gray, and it's gorgeous. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try to make one myself... another reason I want Fantasy to return is to maybe get the wingless Fantasy dwarf helmets (like in my avatar) in new colors, too; that one in pearl dark gray like the CMF Evil Dwarf's would be just about as nice as a PDG Gimli helmet, I think, whether on a Tolkien dwarf or TLG Fantasy dwarf. Cannot stress enough how much I'd love a good Dernhelm, ROTK Witch King, Faramir, and Gondor soldier. A Beorn-print of the existing bear (still kinda kicking myself for not getting the smaller City hideout set with one in it) would also be fantastic to see.

...not to mention black-handled levers tend to sell for about a penny each. If the Micro AT-AT has a couple, there's a decent chance it'll also have an extra! The other pieces should be useful enough that it'd be a good little parts-pack for detailing patchwork ships like the Falcon or an SD

They sort of did, which is how we got the original Tusken minifigure in the first place: Tusken Raider Encounter Still, that's a 12-year-old pre-fleshie set... they could probably revamp the bike build, make a hut, maybe include a bantha and a couple Tuskens, maybe Shmi, and the requisite Angry Anakin... but that might be too bleak a scene. Then again, they 'hid' the Burning Anakin scene in Palpatine's Shuttle and the green Anakin Skywalker Interceptor sets...

While I'd rather the Anakin's Custom Fighter figures be "movie-style" as opposed to having TCW faces, I do kinda hope Ventress has black-rimmed/lashed white eyes. If she had her Dark Horse visage, instead, that'd be fine by me (always preferred her hatch-mark tats--even tho they're largely on the sides of her head, where TLG can't/doesn't print--to her tats from TCW). Having a Ventress that blends in better with movie figures wouldn't be terrible at all! My biggest hope is that her sabers hilts appear in Flat Silver for a change, or in dark pearl grey (but that may be like hoping Dooku's saber gets released without the chrome)

Disney ended TCW partly because it was with Cartoon Network, partly because they wanted to move focus away from the PT era. It's disappointing because they could have bought out any interest CN had in the show and started airing on DisneyXD, and started up Rebels (likely minus Filoni and his people) alongside Seasons 6-8 of TCW... they're Disney, they can afford it. But Rebels won't face those obstacles if/when Disney decides they want a between-OT-and-ST show; Rebels is already on DisneyXD, the OT era is recognized as their bread & butter thanks to nostalgia and stuff like stormies and Vader being readily available. Unless they pull boneheaded moves like they did with Motorcity & Tron (airing them late on Sundays when kids likely won't watch, not merchandizing them at all) there should be no reason to prematurely cancel Rebels

Again, tho, there's potential for main characters in CMFs as well, just alternate versions (1st Appearances, certain variant outfits, etc). Despite how TLG loves shoving Batman into so many sets, they're never gonna put, say, Elseworlds Pirate Batman in a set; CMF, however, may be a possible home for such a figure. Action Comics t-shirt New 52 Supes would be another choice I'd love to see (while fleshie arms might be limiting, even with short-sleeve print, the S-logo torso could see a lot of use in various characters simply as a Superman shirt!)

I know Disney plenty well, I've worked for them before. Disney has bigger fish to fry than micromanaging LFL about an animated series. And don't forget that the hell of Kingdom of the Sun led to Emperor's New Groove, a far fresher & funnier film than was originally planned... and that in many ways it was Disney giving up on the big epic KOTS that allowed ENG to sneak into being. Too many of you put too much weight behind the whole "Disney's in charge" thing... and it's equally amazing to see how many folks expect Disney to just kill off Rebels once Episode VII hits. Rebels is SW's TV presence for the foreseeable future; they likely won't start up a post-ROTJ series until at LEAST Episode VIII is out, maybe not even until the trilogy is complete (or run the risk of the next film kinda not meshing with the support series, as happened with Dark Horse's comics, Del Rey's books, and the Tartakovsky Clone Wars during the prequels, in various ways). And even if they did start up a post-ROTJ show in the next few years, there's nothing to say they couldn't run it concurrently with Rebels. It'd likely strengthen the timeslot on Disney XD, having a full hour of new Star Wars every week. Marketing gold! A pink badass Mando girl doesn't mean "Disney marketing" either; it's ANY studio's marketing. Again, Ahsoka says hello. Filoni even said in interviews Sabine grew out of his ideas for Bo Katan, and he suggested a Mando girl to Weisman & Kinberg. If it were Disney, then Sabine would be a Mando princess... which technically may still be possible (Satine was a Duchess, perhaps there was also a Mando royal family, maybe exiled or thought lost in the conflicts that led to the pacifists taking power?), but I don't think it likely. Even then, Filoni & Co could've thought up such a story on their own, entirely independent of the Mouse. They might think it a clever ruse, with Sabine's name being only one letter off as a clue that she's also nobility... that the reveal of her royal status could be played into a "No, I am your father"/"another Skywalker" reveal down the line... that the PT & TCW had (former) Queen Amidala, the OT had Leia, so Rebels should have a royal, too... Tho I still fully expect Leia to show up in the series for an episode or two, eventually. Anyhoo, Disney can be very micromanage-y about a lot of stuff (projects I've worked on for them bear such scars), but I think it's fairly hands-off, mostly S&P stuff, letting LFL take point. If Disney really wanted to be controlling, it'd be produced here in LA. And in most interviews I've seen about Rebels, Disney is hardly mentioned aside from being the network it's on... It's all Lucasfilm, Lucasfilm, Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy.

Nope. Disney's influence on the show probably began and ended with "We want a new show with more of an old-school OT feel to get folks excited about the new movies, since we're canceling TCW so we don't have to deal with Cartoon Network anymore." As for minifigs, we know we're getting Kallus, Sabine, another Ezra and Kanan, Wookiees, the Inquisitor, a few stormtroopers (at least one may be a specialized trooper of some sort), AT-DP pilots, and an Imp officer. I think that about covers the upcoming sets.

It's not Disney. You know that it's mostly TCW folks running this show, right? Not Disney. They're not the ones saying "we need a young teen protagonist" <coughAHSOKAcough>, they're not the ones saying "make it kiddie", etc. All we've seen are clips and non-episode shorts. And Ezra isn't younger than Luke, from a certain point of view... If he were the age in Rebels that Luke was in ANH, that'd mean he'd have been a 5-year-old probably already in the Jedi Order, not a baby who hadn't been found by the Jedi yet before Order 66 happened. And we all need to quit labeling everything in the show as "McQuarrie". Much of it is, but plenty of other elements draw from other concept artists of the OT... Not to mention all the new stuff the design team will dream up for the show

Indeed... TLG is hardly gonna drift far from a basic Superman or New 52 Superman in their sets... but Eradicator? Electro-Supes (in blue and/or red)? New 52 Action Comics t-shirt Supes? Good choices for CMFs. More obscure characters wouldn't be bad, either; DC has had so many animated series over the last couple decades that there are tons of characters who've had their chance to shine for at least an episode here & there.

BrickWarriors Sept 2014 - New Ranger Items
Venkefedo replied to Thrash's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Very glad to see these added! Now...about getting the Harpy helm in charcoal/dark pearl grey (and the coin purse in brown/dark-brown/dark-tan! It's shown as brown in the render!). Once wife-aggro cools down, gonna hafta order a bunch of this stuff! -
You're not looking close enough. Even in the highest-res versions we saw, it wasn't crisp, but it was clear enough to tell the red figure had a two-word name, first starting with S, second looking to be about 4 characters in length. That adds up to Sabine Wren.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Venkefedo replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's a Jedi Scout Fighter. Says so on the box. If Wookieepedia doesn't have any more info than that, there probably isn't any more info. -
"That armor's too strong for blasters! Rogue Group...just ram them! That oughta do it." ...and thus, the Battle of Hoth was won by the Rebels, who managed to escape under the cover of their energy shield, and General Veers soon met Ozzel's fate for his failure.

Don't worry... she'll be using her blasters plenty. Everyone seems bent out of shape over it being "Disney"... as if Disney means "kiddie". Did nobody watch Motorcity or Tron Uprising? If any kiddifying happens in the show itself--not in the marketing--it's likely a decision made by the showrunners. Disney's primarily a home for it and a marketing system; if/when Disney wants "Star Wars Babies!", we'll get "Star Wars Babies!" or an Grumpy Sparrows Star Wars cartoon, not something that looks & feels (comparatively) so close to TCW (which, if you'll recall, had some incredibly kiddie-friendly eps based on some folks reactions, amidst the episodes where clones burn Geonosians alive)

Don't worry, Sabine will have her helmet... in the Summer 2015's $100+ REBELS set. The set will also feature a new mold/build for the Zeb/Kallus weapon, rather than just two regular SW blasters stuck onto a saber hilt, but an under-$30 set in the wave featuring Zeb or Kallus will still have the old build.

My outside take on it is the city perhaps prides itself (as much of Mitgardia undoubtedly does) on its stonework, and it honors its dead, so the stonemasons & stonecutters & stonecoldsteveaustins of the city work on the cemetery, too (as it's not just bodies buried under dirt & grass), which is one reason why it's so clean.

Graffiti can be a beautiful act of expression... and a tool of folks fighting the system, which is what the rebels of Lothal are doing. Not everything the heroes do needs to be "role model" material for the kiddies <coughHanSolocough> The Mandalorian society you describe sounds more like the EU version. In TCW, the only remaining canon glimpse at their society, there are different standards throughout the culture (if it can even be thought of as a single culture).

Not sure about stickers, but next year (or late this year?) they're doing some minifigure-scale Minecraft sets so you can get nicely-printed official Lego Minecraft minifigs! They probably won't be quite as "pixelated" as the ones you linked, but it's something!

Like it? I love it! I still have that toy somewhere in my Star Wars bins... the action feature was silly, but it was an awesome little vehicle. Glad to see it can be done with Lego!

Looks good! Not sure if they'd go crazy on the treads like that in an official MF Sandcrawler, but it'd be pretty great if they did! I was really, really hoping Wave 2 of the Microfighters would have something much like this, since Jawas are in production thanks to the big Sandcrawler. It'd show that the series could go outside the box (of micro combat-vehicles; the prototypes for the series, the convention tin-sets, showed a bit of that with Luke's landspeeder), and finally offer up a way for little kids to get Jawas, too, instead of begging parents to get them one of two large Sandcrawler sets. I really, really wish they'd do two waves per year, not just in winter as it appears now... Winter 2016 might feature EpVII ships, as well as REBELS, and if it's only 6 there's not much room for much else. I'm too impatient for a measly 6 Microfighters per year, there's so much potential in the line!

The bikes are not based on McQuarrie art, they're based on Nilo Rodis-Jamero and Joe Johnston concepts as I noted earlier. McQuarrie's bikes looked VERY different.

I've seen a few builds lately with lots of those 1x1 round tiles in them... it's like they were in everyone's local PAB-wall recently (I a few cups over the last month or so, spread out...still haven't sorted them, but kept scooping those guys in each as filler--while they lasted!) Very nice build & continuation of the story! Love all the tombs, and the statue of the angel (don't blink!)

World of Warcraft figures by KeteR_u_S
Venkefedo replied to KeteR_u_S's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Childhood?! I feel old... (and holy smokes, WoW is 10 this year?!) If you want a jutting jaw for orcs, this helmet might be the one to mod... if the jaw isn't so important, Lego Fantasy troll heads are pretty Warcrafty with the tusks sticking up from their mouths. Mohawk or topknot headpiece, they'd look even more like members of the Horde!
