One question about this- will this affect any current orders right now? I have a few.

Red Cross or EMU on Ambulance. When changed and why?
Grimmbeard replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in Community
This ^. Furthermore, the "pole dancing snake" as you call it is actually a very old Greek symbol and is arguably more well known than the Red Cross. -
Awesome job . The whole thing is nicely detailed and structured The stern is a bit large, but I can see that is just your style of building, and I think it looks quite nice anyway .

Great find! I really like all the texture and details.

Pleygo: Netflix styled Lego Rental?
Grimmbeard replied to Legononymous's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So it's renting sets? I don't really know what to think of it. It sounds like a nice idea for kids who want a set, will play with it for a little while, and never use it again. I don't think I would really use it. I want to keep my LEGO! -
Investing in LEGO: how long until I break even, make profit?
Grimmbeard replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wouldn't say it's despicable. Thanks to these people, we're able to buy retired LEGO online. I would say that just keeping all the boxes locked away, never to do anything with them, is bad. But that's obviously not what he'd be doing. -
Really cool. It seems alright to me, feels a bit like mindstorms but with more "normal parts".

How to find non-official Lego hobby shops?
Grimmbeard replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd also suggest going to LEGO events/lug meetings, people there might know. Many vendors at events might also have stores specializing in LEGO. Check goodwill/thrift shops as well. -
Potential (and quite large) Future Project
Grimmbeard replied to Cousarmy0001's topic in Pirate MOCs
I like it a lot It definitely looks a lot less "modern", and the new buildings look great! Can't wait to see it in bricks -
Thanks!

Yeah, I plan on going to Brickfair this summer, so hopefully my second event will be better.

Nice The rain adds a nice effect and I like how the whole thing is photographed to bring out that movie/musical feeling. Looking forward to your brother's ship!

I agree with everyone here, you're probably overreacting. Now if you came across this in a LEGO related group, then I can definitely agree with your decision to be angry . Honestly though, as this is the internet, you can find that kind of stuff anywhere, and if you're offended, then you shouldn't be on it. And even if you do see something like it, just shrug it off, it's not really a big deal.

Hi all, This topic is somewhat overdue, since the event was about three weeks ago... , but I'm posting it anyway! This is my display at the first ever Scouting for Bricks LEGO event from May 4-5 in Leesburg Virginia. The event was sponsored by the local boy scout troop as a creative way of fundraising. Almost 5000 people came, I think, which was a lot more than expected, and the whole thing was a great success. Several vendors including Classic Plastic Bricks and Clone Army Customs were there, as well as the 501st legion, which is a Star Wars group that goes to events such as this. The local LUG, Wamalug/Wamaltc (which I'm not a part of) also came to display some fantastic MOCs including a huge train and city set up, Egyptian pyramid course, "the way things go" type display, and much more! Being a first - time exhibitor, I wasn't really sure what I was expecting coming into this. I had been to Brickfair a couple of times before, but only as a visitor, and I just went with my brother and didn't really meet anyone else there. So suffice to say I was kind of nervous entering this event. I decided, as this was a new experience, that it would be fitting to bring a new MOC, so I spent the month before preparing a new Port for my pirate collection (a BLUECOAT one, by the way). I brought it, as well as all of my custom ships, including my Ghost of Greybeard's Bounty and Chinese Junk. The first day I was there I didn't do much of meeting people, except for the exhibitors near me, mostly as I was quite worried about leaving my MOCs alone. The second day though, I went out and met a lot of other fans, talked with a lot of visitors, and discussed the event with the staff. The second day was better . Towards the end of the event, they had a contest for best-in-show, in which I was recommended for by a few of the LUG members. I won , as they enjoyed the Junk ship best with the SNOT hulls. Anyway, that's enough rambling by me, here are the MOCs (photo quality a little fuzzy). All the photos of the event can be viewed here, here, and here. This is the entire display I brought. Aaand, that's it. Thanks for looking, and I hope you liked it.

I think it's fine, though I have a free account so I can't speak for the pros. However the only problem I have is that I cannot drag photos from imgur into Flickr, or perhaps that just doesn't work?

Everyone should fill this out. I'd recommend it be put in the "hello my name is" forum.

The pros and cons of being an exhibitor
Grimmbeard replied to ShaydDeGrai's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I thought the same way when I went to my first event last weekend. The first day I was so worried about kids touching and stealing (and I had a few rare parts) that pretty much every time someone walked by I would check around for all the parts . Nothing happened though. No one touched it, they were all respectful and enjoyed the creations. I had nice conversations with both adults and kids alike. If I were you I wouldn't let the fear stop you from exhibiting your MOCs. Just relax and realize that everyone there is a fellow fan and 99% will respect your MOCs. And if you see a kid looking suspicious, just give him a glare, he'll understand and will probably walk away. But anyway, for anyone else, events are awesome! This was only a local event that I went to, but it was still way better than I thought it would be. There were great exhibitors, vendors, staff, and visitors. The MOCs were very good and the age range was also good for any guest (10-adult). I won best in show and had a great time overall. 10/10 would recommend again. -
Nice, love the classic feel. A bluecoat ship to match the bsb

This is completely true. I've always wondered (since there's no clock where I build) why so much time has passed when it felt so short.

The Average Price of a LEGO piece on Bricklink
Grimmbeard replied to tchuk-norst's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, you could find the largest price, and the smallest price, and maybe do a factorial to find all the prices, and then do the average? (Just an idea, not sure if the math'll work out.) -
"This is just like what the Greeks done at Troy..."
Grimmbeard replied to "LL"'s topic in Pirate MOCs
Very nice There's not enough microbuilding out there -
The oldest set you have ever found in a toy shop?
Grimmbeard replied to legotrainfan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, there's a shop like that near me. Lots of old castle sets and minifigures. Very expensive though.
