And don't forget quotes, and misquotes. Locking it is just a silly idea. IT SHALL NOT PASS. :-) Unpin it and leave it floating if people want it, or move it to Licensed and let them deal with it!

The lack of a cape is easily rectified.

For me, it has to be the CMF series. Getting individual characters inspires a lot of very different MOCs. I have probably built more than 100 16x16 or 8x8 vignette MOCs based on characters in the CMF range.

This is explicitly stated in their terms ... Due to the large quantities and intent of the program, the elements are picked in bulk quantities. This may result in exact quantity deviations that are not entitled for compensation. The exception to this is if an entire quantity of an element was not packaged in the shipment.

The other good thing about nanobloks is that there is no cross-contamination with lego. Being a different size means you don't accidently mix them up, or if you do they are easy to spot.

REVIEW: 71008 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13
MAB replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think it's good there is a smaller number of the hot dog guys. He is not really an army builder (although I'm sure someone will build an army) and he is easy to feel for.- 104 replies

Were you adding a lot of items (and large multiples of the same)? If so, it deletes your cart and you lose everything. I haven't a clue what the cut off is for this happening, but I have had it happen to me before too.

Cost to TLG is much lower than that. -
Yet another Maiar, Saruman, was killed by a mortal man, Grima. "Power levels" don't always work.

I'm not sure I see the point - LEGO have already done this in the architecture range (although about 1/4 the scale). I also see a lot of 1x1 sand green tiles on the roof - that looks quite tedious to construct. And the supports are building the same model six times, which again would be rather tedious. It's probably nice as a MOC if it means something to you, but not for LEGO IDEAS.

You probably want to say "thumbs up". "Fingers up" is normally rude!

Nice build. Is the front of the building meant to be religious? I see a cross, but not sure if that is intentional. Now all you need is Cragger with a bucket grabbing some of that chi :-)

I think the Dwarves wanting to reclaim their homeland is actually a better story for a film rather than focussing mainly on Bilbo - there is definitely more action in it, and having more heroes is a good thing. I found the barrel escape scene quite exciting.

Much worse. I think mainly as the studs (or stud holders) shrink on drying out. Also the parts have a real bad quality feel compared to normal lego, not as dense feeling. Also if you bend them, they take a while to bend back, unlike the genuine rubber parts. But then, I guess they are bad quality parts, so it is not surprising they feel that way.

Very nice sets. I like the robin, although it is a shame that they did not use the new black pneumatic T part for the foot, and also dark orange for the "red breast" parts, they would have been a little better than the red. PS The Green Violetear is a hummingbird. Hummingbird is a generic name that covers many different genera / families.

Peter Jackson is a film maker and is interested in making films that will be of interest to current day viewers, based on the original stories. If you want the story of the book, read the book. If you want Peter Jackson's retelling of the story, watch the films. I think it makes sense to connect the Hobbit films to the LOTR films. They are PJ's two trilogies of Middle Earth. It is a bit like making Episode III of Star Wars fit the storyline for Episode IV.

What if the fight took place by a river? What if Treebeard had Gandalf on his side? "Never, ever happen" is a rather strong statement.

The second statement is not quite true, mathematically speaking. The odds of winning on any given day only go up as time goes on if you haven't already won. If you have already been drawn, then your odds drop on the day after and then flatline at zero. It's all about conditional probability - you need the "haven't already won" statement for it to be true. -
REVIEW: 71008 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13
MAB replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes, I know overall the figure costs will balance out, it is just that you wrote "parts assortment is average" - when it is a very cool new part, then existing plain legs and torso, with a new but fairly non-descript head. For this minifig, it is all about that one hot dog part! Not that it matters too much, as everyone can see the nice clear photos and make up their own minds.- 104 replies

OK, he looks pretty cool, and easy enough to make myself. I wondered if a store somewhere had commissioned a Santa Flash. -

There are some fantastic prizes there, congrats to the first winners. And double congrats to MadAboutLego for getting chosen as the advent window picture! That "The Flash" figure - is he a custom or is there an advent style calendar available with that one in?
