The Greatest Collectible Minifigure THANKS AND GOODBYE
MAB replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree. Most things don't make sense in the super hero universes if you apply our conventional wisdom. But we accept Batman as a character in one of his "normal" outfits and many fans are interested in Batman memorabilia. However, Batman in a tutu makes as much sense as Batman dressed up as an onion seller, or Batman dressed as a train driver, or ... He doesn't do it in the comics or movies. He only does it in TLBM and so TLBM characters are only really of interest to fans of that movie. Which is why they get voted against when compared to even the most uninspired regular CMF.- 2,045 replies

The Greatest Collectible Minifigure THANKS AND GOODBYE
MAB replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Easy decision for me: Headgear: elf hairpiece beats knight's helmet (plenty of them available). Head: don't care, although the elf's is probably better as the knight has that goofy tooth. Torso and Legs: both excellent printing. Shield: elf's is nicer and more usable by far than the knight's bear one. Weapon: both great. Extras: the cape beats the shoulder armour. Dressing up as a bat may be a bit random, but the character is part of our culture now. Yet Batman dressed up in a tu-tu or glam-rock outfit isn't. It is specific to one kid's film and thus, if you are not into the Lego Batman Movie, the figure is comparable to, say, a DFB footballer if you are not into the German football team.- 2,045 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MAB replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
It is from the Bricks and Pieces page, go to the right hand side, and select the "ordering lots of parts" option. Then fill in the form and email it. That allows you to order more than 200 of one part, and more than 3000 parts in total. -
Probably about $10 for the pair. It is a common figure and a letter that was sent to Elijah Wood. From all the other seemingly random letters in the pile - credit card statements, etc - I imagine it was probably never even seen by him and just put in a box by his management company with all the other letters and then sold off as memorabilia.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion

I completely lost on these rumours threads now. Are these actually rumours, or just wants, guesses and speculations? -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MAB replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
If you are after licensed parts, especially torsos, then it might be better to do it sooner rather than later. Updates are good in that new parts come along, but bad in that some parts disappear too, normally all the parts you wanted but were waiting on ordering. -

Yeah, looks like the Roman Commander is out. It is not surprising, as he is not even the best Roman in the CMF series, but a shame anyway. At least the king (who beat the other Roman soldier) is out now too.- 2,045 replies

Yeah but then there are comparisons of the elf to Legolas and other Hobbit elves. If first matters, S1 zombie would probably still be in.- 2,045 replies

There are also plenty of kings too, just like there are plenty of different knights. This king is reasonably similar to NK King Halbert. Although of course this knight is also unique, just like the king is. The Frightening Knight has got more useful parts for making multiple minifigures than the king for me. The Kings hair/crown is nice for one character, his beard is superb, his clothes are not so good unless you want dressy uniformed soldiers (like the Swiss Guards for the pope). Whereas the frightening knight's torso and legs make really good generic knights clothes, from classic castle to LOTR. Plus a good weapon and shield.- 2,045 replies

Pick-a-Model in LEGO stores officially discontinued?
MAB replied to Legopold's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've done the same with my kids. Why pay for the parts in a little pack, when you get much better value filling up a cup with multiples. -

If those images are not the actual minifigures and just hints, then post the full images and mark them (preferably on the images) as hints only, rather than doing small reveals. Marking the image as hints will stop them being used as facts elsewhere. -
What is the "doomed" based on? From what I understand from kids, it is popular both in set form and the game. My son especially loves the scanning of the shields in the game. Sales volumes seem to be reasonable (anecdotally only of course). Remember Ninjago wasn't that well received in the first year, but took off well in later years. I don't think Nexo Knights is another Ninjago, I think it will run for the planned period and end. I hope it doesn't come back, not because I don't like it but as I'd prefer them to keep doing new 3 year themes, like Chima, NK, etc. It is a good way of getting very different parts and minifigs.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MAB replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
They round points in the display, but you do get them even on small items. If you buy 4*10p parts you spend 40p and get 0.4 VIP points and it is displayed as zero. But it is added to the running total. If the next item is 7*10p parts they get 0.7 points, will show as 1 point and carry over 0.1 points. And so on. -
They don't check every project in detail when uploaded.

This breaks the IDEAS rules anyway. You have multiple properties within one project. NASA missions are individual properties.

The Greatest Collectible Minifigure THANKS AND GOODBYE

I'm a little sad too. But then I think this is the first game where I didn't mind too much which of a pair went through because both the Tiki and Faun are great figures. In the past rounds, I've often not cared which one of two wins because they are as bad as each other. So at least there is a nice change. I also agree, we don't need to wait longer, the Chef and Tiki have gone.- 2,045 replies

For me, it is because there are already enough chef minifigures, and the torso is not that different to the existing one and this one comes with legs that are difficult to use with other figures. I'm not a fan of the head or combined hat/hair, I prefer the original chef hat. The pie is OK, but I prefer the previous versions without the printed strawberries. The whisk is OK, but I can do without. Whereas Lady Liberty is fairly unique, much better than many plain statues. It can be used in both modern and ancient MOCs. And of course, loved by many Americans!- 2,045 replies
