  1. Wow, those flames are quite expensive.
  2. Those garage door pieces work very well as the greenhouse style windows. Very clever.
  3. It sounds too technical for small kids, and big kids already do this with real LEGO.
  4. I wouldn't want a Men of NASA set as the title is too loaded. But I wouldn't mind a Pioneers of NASA set. And it would be fine by me if all the people in it were men, as the notable women have already been done. Or just a decent minifigure set to go with Saturn V, rather than the microscale / trophy figures. The original moon landing crew would make sense there. Or they could do a "People that have walked on the moon" set, or famous astronauts set, and include women where appropriate. As for Ideas, anything related to the Apollo program is now banned. Even if it wasn't, a set similar to Women of NASA with vignettes wouldn't pass as it is too similar to the past project.
  5. I think a minifigure based set of three figures - containing Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins - would sell extremely well seeing how well Saturn V has sold. But it wouldn't be allowed on Ideas. Mind you I reckon a set of three popes taken from different eras would also sell quite well.
  6. It means everything will turn out right. Just ask Fanny.
  7. Or a police station combined with a new pet shop, so they can base it all on a "stool pigeon".
  8. Nice. Although just like real thatch roofs, it looks like it will cost a small fortune!
  9. It is interesting how they didn't use the name Robin Hood on the set boxes and even in that advert refer to him as Robin not Robin Hood. Perhaps they felt more easy about using the Robin Hood name in specific literature such as the comic or catalogues but not on the boxes. Whether this is legal or for recognition, I don't know.
  10. My first online order at bricks and pieces was placed 15 June 2014, so it is over 4 years old. Here's some proof too: Although I think it was running before that too but I no longer have access to my old email account so cannot check dates. This was back in the days that it was so bad that they were giving away many parts, either free or very cheap. It was running prior to that too but by phone so much harder to use and price orders. Remember that bricks and pieces started life as a replacement parts service. The interface is still pretty much based on that - that the user knows which part they are missing or which set it came from. I doubt LEGO wants to improve it much more, as it will just increase traffic there and it drives away sales from sets.
  11. Yes, and I agree with @Peppermint_Mthey are no different to LEGO quality. They also come in a wider range of colours and sizes. I bought quite a few to stick on an ikea table to make the kids a (clone) LEGO table.
  12. You will probably not find much that you can use if you are so distrustful. You will be restricted only to sets sold by amazon (not third party or fulfilled by amazon). And I don't think amazon sell the community type sets, so you will need to purchase city sets just for the figures. Very, very few sellers at bricklink are bad sellers. Many sellers have been there years and sold thousands of items without cheating buyers. Any sellers selling Lepin would soon be caught out via feedback. Also city figures are cheap, selling fakes of them is hardly worthwhile.
  13. I agree that they are useful when it comes to planning, but I'm not sure leaks give more to talk about. The same discussions would be had if the set wasn't leaked, just at a different time - later on when released.
  14. An example of where it is going would be useful. Are you constrained at all by height, for example? I can think of some solutions, but it would make it quite high and also extend outside of the rail as drawn. If it has to be minimal and contained within the volume drawn, it is unlikely.
  15. Why do you need to use water? If you put it somewhere relatively clean and give it a blow every so often dust is minimised and you shouldn't need to use water to clean the parts. Plus the vinyl stickers can be wiped if need be.
  16. What is A LOT? If it is just 50, you can easily find bricklink sellers with that many generic figures and/or parts in their store. If you buy some spare legs, heads and torsos too, then you can mix them up so it doesn't matter if you buy 5 of the same minifigure, as they will all come out different. I wouldn't put 50 minifigures inside a modular though, it would be a bit cramped.
  17. I wouldn't do it with ABS parts, as they deform at such high temperatures. The clear polycarbonate parts can just about take it without warping. You can dye normal parts at lower temperatures though (RIT dye, etc). If you want a bit of neon style colour, you can also break up a highlighter pen and stick the ink sponge type thing in.
  18. There are plenty of similar sized momentary switches, but I've not seen a toggle switch that size. If you search mini rocker switch on ebay there are some about the size of a 2x1 brick.
  19. Exosuit Yes, there is no way they would have the old mould so it will be a modern version of the old style helmet.
  20. It is because there are not that many old fans compared to the kids that normally buy sets / have sets bought for them. Then there are considerations like clashing with other product lines (eg having classic castle out at the same time as Nexo Knights wouldn't work), and competing lines that are designed for older LEGO fans (modulars, architecture, etc). They also do occasionally do nostalgic sets (like the recent anniversary ones).
  21. Yes, they were definitely more modern castle than classic castle. If the torsos had been an older design, then yes the story may well be different.
  22. Yellow hips. Yeah, naked minifigs return! I would have preferred another colour other than white. That was done relatively recently in the classic spaceman set.
  23. In a sense, they already did for castle in the first TLM: I think Benny's spaceship sold well, and so Classic Space gets more sets this time. Whereas the set above didn't sell so well.
  24. You can normally buy generic city minifigures or their parts quite cheap on bricklink.
  25. Apply them to clean parts and there shouldn't be a problem, so long as you don't display the set in bright sunlight on on top of a heater or other bad environmental conditions.
