If it is small, it is certainly a very neat frigate, LordDan, great use of those long pieces, and fantastic job with the boosters at the back!

Location: H05, Livgorn Tags: Exploration, Land/Water Vehicle Jedadiah Douglass, signing in from Livgorn... Oh boy! It will be a while until I can talk about that! So much for Forring being any good! Ha! Ginormous ducks, yikes! Yes, yes, another vacation is quite in order... and thankfully, since Dr. Long is no longer first branch executive and good old Jacques is there instead, vacations aren't that hard to come by, haha! Hey, look at this, another Pombe animal plant! Except this one provides fast food, yum! But I shall finish my ice cream here first. Seriously though, this is a very nice planet, but I am having trouble figuring out if I am underwater or flying... and I forgot to check my Domination for Dummies before I landed to find out. Oh well. Remind me to ask Pombe if animal trees can grow underwater or not. But where are my legs? Ah ha, there you are! Get back over here! Now this is a bit better than that horrid planet last week, ha! Here we go! My weekly build - and I'm really not sure if it's underwater or not! It wasn't originally meant to be, but the plants, landscape, mech, and photography turned out such that I'm don't know myself! What do you think of it all? Comments and constructive criticism are welcome as always!

Welcome to GoH Sorrelon, it's certainly "a very fun happy place to be!" Varlyrio is a fifth guild (created by Mikey B and the winner of a GoH challenge for a fifth guild), and while builders are allowed to place MoCs in it, it is not open for membership... so it's sort of a semi-guild in that respect. You can read pretty much all about it here

Although I did enjoy it to a certain extent, I do agree with you about the Kali challenge - it was way too intensive for GoH and seems to have burned a lot of people out, at least temporarily... besides, I just had to volunteer to work with the voting threads too One of the best thing about GoH is the rather lax rules that pretty much allow people to build what they want and when they like, and I'm afraid the Kali challenge rather messed that up with about three or four builds a week possible, and though of course no one needed to build them all, at least some people did (try ). Posting constrictive criticism also becomes rather difficult ( ) when you have two pages of new builds to comment on every Monday morning. I do think that the Nocty challenge will pull some of those who dropped out back in though, at any rate I hope so!

Husbandry Challenge: If you pay peanuts...
Garmadon replied to Jorrith's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice build Jorrith, excellent pumpkin patch, and great house and purple roof as well! Neat touches with the carnivorous plants and the tree, and the apprentice running away is quite appropriate! -
Excellent build Kai, fantastic work with the flowers and tree, and the incorporation of the treehouse is very nice! Awesome use of the brickbending technique for the border, and great job with the little vehicles as well!
-
Fantastic build Kai, lovely vineyard, and that mansion is excellent as well! Great job with all the activity going on, and very nice photography (as usual! )

The Algus Saga: Myths at the frontdoor
Garmadon replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome builds Ecc, the towers and bridge are excellent, and great landscaping and minifigures as well! Wonderful work with the dragons, the shaping all over is truly superb! It's also great to see more of your wolfs, and I see the Algus are finally starting to slow down -
Excellent build Gideon, fantastic irrigating canal and the opening and water flowing next to the crops is great as well! The olive green looks wonderful here, and my only nitpick would be that the trunk of the tree looks a bit odd with such a wide canopy on top. Superb entry overall though, and congrats on your win!

Historica Husbandry: Old Bruin and His Tale
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks all! Thanks mccoyed! I believe this is my first try at this chunky kind of snow, so I'm glad it turned out well! Thanks LJ, glad you like it! Ha, ha, yes, the bear did turn out a bit more cartoonish than realistic! Thanks a lot SK! Thanks Slegengr! I was really happy with how the trees looked, and I'm glad you liked the bear as well!- 21 replies

Historica Husbandry: Old Bruin and His Tale
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks all! Thanks a lot GG, glad you like it! Ha, ha, thanks Titus! Ha, ha, thanks MN, glad it does! This was one of my first and took quite a while, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out! Ha, ha, thanks a lot Kai! The trees were one of my favorite parts! Thanks dG, glad you liked them! I believe Gideon has done some like these a long time ago, but I'm not sure how similar they are as I haven't checked his for quite a while! The leaves are attached using these pieces with these clipped on, and the leaves are attached to those, with the bottom levels stuck out a bit farther with 2x1 plates. Hope that helps! Maybe I should do a tutorial on it sometime!- 21 replies

Old Bruin was hungry - of course he always was, but it happened that now he was even more so than usual. What with all the turmoil going on in Historica, not even he could escape the general lack of food... at least relatively speaking. With his thoughts running in these rather uncomfortable channels, the Bruin, with a pit in his stomach at least the size of a Kaliphlinian rhinoceros - supposing such things exist - wandered into the meadow, where his eyes rested upon a most appetizing sight. There in the middle of the field stood an unfortunate hunter - though whether it was more unfortunate for the hunter or Bruin that he happened to be there would be hard to tell. He certainly did not seem to be relishing his task. Unnoticed by Bruin, his companion, who he seemed ready to die to exchange places with, strung his bow with a grin and a wink. Though it was cold, the sweat poured down the not-very-experienced hunter's face, as he pricked the Bruin in the side. Meditating on the little rascal's audacity, Bruin raised his arms to protest... well, that is what he said, anyhow. Well, there the poor old Bruin's tale was cut short - rather like the tail's of most of his kind, you may note - by an arrow from the archers unerring bow. My entry to SK's husbandry challenge, and one of my favorite builds to date... and it was about time to build something in Mitgardia again! Although he was undoubtedly the most difficult part of the build, the bear - at least his arms and legs - are pretty poseable, and was a lot of fun to build. Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!

To the Citadel! The Battle of Abercrub Pass
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks all! Thanks a lot Gunman, glad you like it! Though I'm afraid even it is not nearly as large as your fortress! Thank you sir! All three of us has greatly improved our photography (and building skills!) since we started MOCcing a few years ago! Thanks Balbo, glad you enjoyed it! -
Absolutely fantastic, cesbrick, wonderful job on the shapes and colors, and top-notch presentation as always! The pool and roadster are superb, and the architecture is very impressive as well! This is really deceptively large - I must confess that when I originally saw this I thought it was a much smaller build, until I looked a bit closer! Stupendous work (I can almost forgive you for building this instead of another awesome crooked house... JK)!

Very nice build MN, the bookshelves look quite sturdy, and the floor technique is quite neat! The wall and table are excellent as well, and I'll echo Kai's advice about some cheese in the painting.
